But what I HATE about Vista's error checking is that there is no screen when it performs the scan.  After the startup screen, it stayed on a black screen for more than 15 minutes, and I couldn't wait any longer.  The Hard Drive light was on, but i'm the kind of person who doesn't like waiting. I have a new computer and was forced to have vista as my OS. I found out how quickly how shity the OS was and had to spend $300 plus the loss of my in service wanrranty in the process.
