Why should I upgrade to WindowBlinds 7?

First, just let me state for the record that I love WindowBlinds and I can't imagine running my computer without it. That said, I have to ask myself, Why should I upgrade to v7? I currently own just WindowBlinds 6 by itself, not the suite which comes with everything. So for me, and I'm sure other users, should I choose to upgrade, I would have to pay to do so. What I'm wondering is, What makes WB7 worth upgrading to? What sets it apart from WB6? How is it any different? What new/better features ...

Random Skins & Wallpapers

When I start up my computer I want Windowblinds to load a random skin and random wallpaper. I also have it set to change my wallpaper hourly, though not in sequence. It seems that even though I have 100s of wallpapers assigned to Windowblinds it tends to use the same ones over and over, and sometimes just has a blank desktop background instead of an image. Is this a bug or do I have something set up wrong? Is it possible that there is some sort of problem with a random seed not being reseeded ea...

WindowBlinds and Vista Aero Scrollbar

Hi;

I'm trying out the trial Windowblinds/SkinStudio 6.4 under Vista Ultimate 64-Bit SP2.

My initial goal is to start with the basic "Windows Aero" style and simply change the color of the Scrollbar "Drag Bar". (Plain old Vista doesn't appear to let you do this).

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, it appears that Windowblinds isn't going to let me do this either...

removing shadow from a wb theme

I just downloaded a wb theme which has a shadow around its windows.

is there anyway to remove this shadow? I already installed skinstudio but i couldnt find such an option yet.

Windowblinds and Excel 2007

I have an add-in loaded in Excel 2007 - Explorer for Excel http://www.ablebits.com/excel-worksheets-manager-addins/index.php

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with WindowBlinds loaded on Excel. I've tried various combinations to try and make it work with WindowBlinds, finally having to simply totally disable WindowBlinds for Excel. Doing so, however, leaves me without any titlebar whatsoever (*I'd show a picture I have uploaded, but I can't get the $#!%@ upload link to work).

Ive tryed applying all sorts of vista and windows 7 themes with aero on windowblinds and everything works great, except the aero. everything worked great about a week ago, all of a sudden the aero didnt work no more, the basic blue is on and not the aero. i know its not my graphics card. Can it be a configuration problem in my computer that i mistakenly made ? Help Please. thank u alot !

I'm dual booting Vista Ultimat 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit, my Windowblinds works fine on Vista (32 bit) but when i installed Impulse on Windows 7, and re-downloaded Windowblinds it says it is not compatible with Windows 7 and has known compatibilities. My friend who also has Windows 7 on his machine has Windowblinds 6.3 running with no problems.

How can i download a compatible version for my Windows 7 64 bit O/S.

I have the classic loop reboot problem after installing Windowblinds through Impulse. To solve it, I tried to run odnt_zapper to clean windowblinds from the system and install it again. However, when I run zapper, all it's normal until I press Apply. When I do it, zapper crashes.

Fortunatelly, I could uninstall windowblinds through Impulse and reinstall the program but I still have the same problem.

I hope there was a solution for this.

Skin non-theme aware programs - which are these?

A feature of WindowBlinds enhanced version is skinning "non-theme aware programs". WB doesn't skin Office 2007 or Google Chrome. I'm assuming those fit into the non-theme aware program. What are some other non-theme aware programs that it does skin?

I love the product. Just wish there was a tad more uniformity so that WB could apply to more apps.

im running a fresh install of Vista 64, i installed WB yesterday and rebooted Several times instaling updates and programs, but my problem started once i instaled my Sound Drivers.

every time i reboot now WB isnt skinning like it should be, i end up with no skin just a skinless os.

how do i get WB to start when i boot up so it will skin vista.

oh its not in Services when i looked i presume this is my problem, if how do i Fix that? im running wb 6.1

WB 6.x (including recent 6.2) do have changed painting menu item icons.With 5.5, I did not have any problem. Since upgrading, many icons are not painted any longer, e.g. with TortoiseSVN context menu, Eclipse.Thus, I downgraded back to 5.5 which is running without problems.When will work again with 6.x??? Disappointing that things go worse for 3 releases.OS: XP

Windowblinds not skinning after startup

When the system reboots, the classic theme is what loads up. I have to re apply the skin each time. I saw some other posts and I have tried the fixes but nothing has helped. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Impulse and Windowblinds... I used revo to do this so that it could remove leftovers. I have tried inputting "vistasrv -install" using the command prompt. Can anyone thinkn of something else... there has been no major system changes regarding software....&...

adding sound?

hi everyone.

I'm using a mac theme, and I want to add sounds to when you click the close/minimize maximize buttons.

I tried using SkinStudio and editing actions, but when i zip it and install it, it doesn't load and goes straight to windows XP.

Please, someone show me a tutorial on adding sounds? Thanks guys!

Alignment problems

I'm new to WindowBlinds. I notice two things that seem a little off. I'm using the supplied Leo theme on an XP SP3 box.

First, even though I place a window right against the upper border of the Task Bar, after I restart that application it appears slightly higher on the screen.

Second, if a foreground window is slightly below a background window, I can't bring the backgroud window to the foregroud by touching its window frame with the pointer. At least not if the margin...

Two problems with a skin

I have two problems with the skin I'm using, it's called Radiate. I don't know if I can get help here or not. I don't know if the problem lies with WindowBlinds as a whole or just the skin itself. But I though I'd ask here first.

First problem, on the start menu there is a bright purple line that I know should not be there. It's right under my programs. Looks like it should be a little divider line, but it doesn't look like it should. A couple pixels tall, ...

Application Exlusion not working

I'm trying to exlude Adobe Photoshop CS3 from being skinned with WindowBlinds v6.4 on Windows Vista while using the No Name skin: http://amaeli.deviantart.com/art/No-Name-55517630

I have tried ticking skin only titlebar and also tried ticking the total exlusion option, but it is still skinning after clicking Apply Changes. I have also tried un-applying (or w/e) the skin back to Windows Vista's Aero and going back to No Name, but it still won't exclude it.

Someone has to have reported this already. If it's a known issue I apologise.

Using WinXP Pro sp 3, wb 6.4.73 x86, Firebird and Thunderbird skin fine, and work like a charm, until I try to minimize. Then they redraw, with no change in size.

Windows Blinds 6.4 is having a bug, I'm sure. Look at this screenshot::

No matter what skin I use the title bar simply does not change to the skin one. However the task bar does. This is not the problem with Windows Blinds version 5.5. Please give me a sl=olution to this problem.
