Start Menu Skinning Issue

I have an issue where Every skin loaded skins everything properly except the start menu. The highlight and mouseover effects work but the framing and custom graphics just dont appear. The start button itself is skinned as is the taskbar. Its a windows vista OS and version 7.3 of windowblinds. Any thoughts?

It has come to our attention that some people may have had issues with some apps and WB and opted not to tell anyone about it.

Obviously we would like to know about them so we can resolve the issues.

If you have had an issue with an app caused by being skinned by WB, please post the following information in this thread:

Tiles

How do i use Tiles? I just bought the application for tiles and want to download some of the new tiles that are on the site.

After i download the new icons how in the heck do i install the icons?

I have read a few of the forums on this but still can not figure it out.

Please help or it's a waste of money.

navigation buttons (explorerframe.dll) not right

Recently when I apply any wb, the nav buttons don't look like they are supposed to. They look like the default buttons in windows aero (windows 7 default). Here is an example with beuh:

Notice that the buttons/arrows in the upper left are like the default instead of like the preview for this wb. Any solution?

Windowblinds not autorunning on Windows 7

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find a post that answered the question.

I got a new laptop with Windows 7 a couple of days ago, yesterday I installed WindowBlinds 7, it seemed to be working fine but today when I started it I got the boring Windows 7 interface and WindowBlinds isn't running.

Anyone know why it isn't running, or how to make it autorun at startup?

Adding to the right side of the start menu

Does anybody know how to add to the right side of the start menu. Like where the "Pictures, Documents" etc. links are?

I want to add my dropbox folder to it so I don't have to open up windows explorer and navigate to it.

Windowblinds & Directory Opus V9 or V10

Guys

I am trying to figure out whether it's a bug in Dopus or Windowblinds or even something else..

Can you please use your favourite wb skin, load up directory opus and perform the following?

a.) In Dopus, go to help/license manager

b.) Click Install New Certificate

c.) Click Load

Does the explorer dialogue paint correctly?

Please let me know your results and version of WB used, thanks!

Hello,

I just brought WB and am trying to get it to work with Directory Opus 10 but can't seem to get it correct, can someone help me pls ?

I want to add the theme's shape and pattern to the toolbars and add background color to explorer's window, I read about compatibility setup for opus but can't seem to find anything.

I bought the Object Dock package, and one day(s) I'm gonna sit down and see just what is possible!

I have Tiles Pro or whatever it's called, and there is a theme in it I really like called "Intra". The thing is, I cannot find a window blind theme to go along with it! Anybody have any ideas? I am still a "newbie" to the whole customization of WindowBlinds, and I don't have the time to make one. I guess what I am asking, is there already a theme for this? I have searched far and wide on wincustomize...

Start Menu Profile Picture Removal

Does anybody know how to remove the start menu profile picture? As my current configuration where the task-bar is at the top of the screen, whenever I press the start button (using sabertooth) the picture "under" laps the task-bar and looks unnatural as half the picture is cut off. Help?

Is this even possible to remove in WindowBlinds?

Hi, I was wondering if there's a release notes document that shows what's specifically fixed or new in WindowsBlinds 7.3 besides Office10 enhancements and Win8 skins. I'm trying to decide if it worth it to upgrade if I dont plan on using the Win8 skins. Perhaps there are performance and/or visual enhancements? If so, what are they? What specific bugs are fixed?

Also, can I just install WindowsBlinds 7.3 on top of 7.2? What's the cleanest way to do...

How do I get transparency support via Remote Desktop?

I have a dual monitor Windows Vista32 PC at work. When I RDP to my "Win7 64bit" home PC with stardock WindowsBlinds 7.3 installed, my stardock dark colored skin turns into bright solid grey on the taskbar. I would like to see the same skin; along with transparencies enabled via RDP. What am I doing wrong?

I have never seen transparency working EVER when using RDP; even when I used to use XP on my work computer. I don't remember exactly, but I even upgraded the RDP ...

Win 7 64 problems

When WB is enabled highlighting text in both Outlook and Word using only the keyboard is pretty BAD as in you don't get highlighting. Selecting text left to right does not highlight the first letter and highlighting right to left highlights nothing! I've tried several themes all with the same results. Unloading WB fixes problem.

Problem with anonymity

Now I'm having a problem with this anonymity blind that I didn't have in the previous build of WB. The start menu that pops up looks totally different from the preview. Here's a screenshot:

Problem with Ammonite II

I just tried to apply the Ammonite II WB and it didn't work at all. The preview didn't even show the WB. this is the first time I tried to apply it under the latest build of WB. Here's my info:

I hadn't tried to run WindowBlinds for a long time, basically since I got my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 up and running. It refuses to install. I uninstalled the old one (it must have worked some time) deleted the directory, and keep trying. The feedback is "Error:File Not Found". The install I used was fresh just a couple days ago.

ObjectDock seems to be working fine, except for me arguing about shell commands (which I'll address on the OD forum)

So ever since I installed the new windowblinds on my pc I have lost the ability to install programs or even run as administrator. After some reading I've come to the conclusion that some Stardock products are the cause of said problem. I was hoping to see if anyone has encountered the same issue and may be able to help me out. Recovery would be a last resort for me since I have not backed up my files in a while and would prefer to not lose my work and files.

Cant apply downloaded skins

Hello, i have the full version of windowsblinds but i cant apply downloaded skins and i cant find them in the "windowsblinds configuration" when i download a skin a pop up tells me to click on it to apply but nothing happens. I messed up somehow i was just cleaning my harddisk deleting stuff and suddenly my skin changes into windows classic after reboot. I also had problems with the standard skins but that was fixed somehow box poped up and i pressed ok and it was fixed

Hi,

Installed WindowBlinds 7.3 final and it's doing that no skinning thing again when I reboot. It's random, sometimes it runs at startup sometimes it does not. I have auto restart disabled like tech support said but it's still happening. The last beta was working flawlessly. I may go back to it.

Also since I installed 7.3 it broke both my Cursor Control Panel and my IconPackager browser. They both lock up minutes after starting them. They work fine with WB removed.

Wierd Startup issue

Hi,

I have been running Windowblinds 73047 for a few months flawlessly. All of a sudden it will not start with windows. The service starts and is running fine but it will not load until I run the EXE and apply a theme. Then I am only good until I reboot. I don't "think" I did anything to compromise the installation and I ran a virus scan and everything is clean. Any ideas or should I try uninstalling and reinstalling?

Title Bar Skinning of Firefox 8.0.1

I'm having a problem with WindowBlinds 7.3.310 (Win7 64bit). It is trying to skin Firefox (v8.0.1), even though I don't want it to. By default, it will apply the skin's titlebar to Firefox, overlaying the nice persona I have applied (or any other persona I try). Hello there.

Yesterday when I redownloaded WindowBlinds, I tried out the Mac OS X skin. It was as small as it should be. Today, when I started my computer, it got bigger for some reason, like this: http://i43.tinypic.com/2n24ly1.jpg

I tried everything to make it work, but it just won't. However, when it's on normal settings (when the taskbar is at the bottom of the screen), it's still small for some reason..
