Controls not visible in group box.

Deal All,

We bought SKS7.1 and everything is working fine except for the controls which are in the group box in the dialogbox (created using MFC CPropertySheet and PropertyPage class). The controls which are inside the group box are not visible properly.

If I keep some controls in side the group box and some outside the group box then the controls which are outside the group box display properly.

Pin To Start Menu Missing

Hey guys, strange thing. I just removed Impulse from my system, and installed all the apps from SD Store.

Skin Studio 7 Pro has a generic icon in the all programs menu (which I can fix), and what's worse, when I right click the shortcut, to pin to start menu, that option isn't listed.

It's there for the other SD apps, just not for SKS.

Small thing, but it should let me pin it to my start menu.

Ok, I tried to run SKS 7 Pro today and it loaded but there were no sections listed on the left side. Reloaded, same. Uninstalled, reinstalled, got an error saying that windowblinds was not installed, and it is.

Chose to continue anyway and got an error saying that my serial is wrong for this version.

a few question about title bar buttons

1. How do I get rid of the system menu button? I tried moving off the right side of the window, where it won't be drawn, but Firefox and some other programs insist on showing the system menu whenever a click occurs in the top-left area of their titlebars. Or, if I can't get rid of the system menu button, how do I skin it?

2. How do I create a button to take screenshot of the window and place it on the clipboard (i.e. like pressing ALT+PRTSCN)? I know there is software to do this, but ...

As the title says I'm after an in depth tutorial for Skinstudio 7, as I've never done any modding or skinning before and would like to have a bash at it, but am a little daunted about it, so I would like to get hold of a real in depth tutorial if one even exists.

Activated Text Color - Vertical Taskbar

Having only recently acquired a Win7 rig and finally begun to explore SKS7, I've run into a quirk.

As I interpret the dialog shown below for the text color of the activated state of the taskbar button, it should be nearly black, but in fact is gray in the applied skin as seen in the taskbar at the right. Also appears intended to be bold and shadowed; the text in the skinned button is neither.

invalid serial number

I renewed my object desktop subscription and when I try to install Skinstudio (5) professional it just tells me invalid serial number and tells me to make sure I have the lastest copy of program from the site and to copy past your serial number to avoid typing in wrong well I have done that all and nothing works just tells me the same that that the serial number is invalid. I have sent a support ticket to Stardock but wondering if anyone has had this issue and if it can be solved from user end. ...

Windows Media Player Format

Hello Everyone,

I'm needing some help with saving my WMP Skin in SkinStudio 5.
To start creating a Windows Media Player skin in SkinStudio, the only format I could select from the 'New File' menu was "Universal FreeForm Skin (UFF) for Windows Media Player", I judge this is normal. I then progress to create my skin.

However, it was only until recently where I decided to test the skin on Windows Media Player that I found there was no option to export/generate the skin file to an acceptable...

Creating Custom winmedia players skins?

I used Skinstudio back in like 2006/2007 and had the option to create your own Window Media player skins, is this option still available? I was looking though the list of stuff that on the site that skinstudio can do and it list making your own windows themes, sidebar options, Internet explorer options but didn't see anything about Media player skins.

So can Skinstudio still support creating your own Window Media player skins?

Is this possible (floating shadowed taskbar) in Win 7 ?

I whipped this up in photoshop and was wondering if it was possible. I've been searching all day for themes for ObjectBar but it appears as though that (OB) is not available anymore.

I'm no photoshop expert but I think I could get this done if it's possible in SkinStudio. Thanks in advance.

New Skinner needing help

I am new to this, just started last night. I can not get the places list to align right. I have tried everything listed in Vampothika's tutorial and I can not seem to fix it. I am creating this for my son and daughter, this is the second theme I have tried I thought it was just the picture on my first one.

I circled the stars... the places list is sitting up to high. I don't know how to fix that. Can someone help?

I just bought WindowBlinds and am playing with SkinStudio and I am having trouble finding how to change a certain section of a window. My example below is from a random skin I pulled and it shows IE9. I want to change the light blue color around the buttons and address bar. How can I do this?

Hello, all; I've been reading this forum for a while, and have been studying the excellent tutorial found here. I'm on p. 5 at the part where the author talks about slicing the start menu for reassembly in SS. My start menu isn't exactly square like the illustrated one is, so I'm not very sure about how to go about slicing it. Is it safe to publish an image here of a work in progress, or is that not recommended for security reasons?

Close button not working in PropertySheet
