If there is a wormhole in my territory, you can bet that I will be plonking down a starbase right in the middle.

Occasionally, I use starbases to add to a planet's defenses, but only if I'm going the "fuck you invading fleet" approach.

<pubDateParsed>2012-01-09T18:21:15-05:00</pubDateParsed>
Starbase Placement

Definition of Flanking in Military language

Quote from WIKI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flanking_maneuver

In military tactics, a flanking maneuver, also called a flank attack, is an attack on the sides of an opposing force. I picked the smallest scenario. I have the computer player set to easy random.

I started by building all 4 mines and then I upgraded my planet once, and built a military research facility then I built a missile platform, and then 15 enemy ships cam in with 1 really big ship(mother-ship or something) and bombed me out...

<pubDateParsed>2012-01-02T15:05:05-05:00</pubDateParsed>
overwhelmed in 10 minutes!

OK, i expect to pick up a LOT of flak for this, BUT i will freely admit that i prefer the TEC to the other races (I rarely play as Vasaari and i have never even finished a game as Advent)

I favour the TEC because i like the look and feel of their ships, i think their capital ships are the best and i really love the strong economy you can build up quite easily (especially with the Trade Facilities on the Argonev, 6.5 credits per second each, great!), the strong economy and the reduce ship buil...

<pubDateParsed>2011-12-27T14:06:13-05:00</pubDateParsed>
Which is The Best race?

I just picked up the game and decided to work on my skills with TEC. I wanted to raise this topic for discussion; what capital ships do you prefer?

I normally choose the colonial ship first so that I can acquire asteroids and other easy pickins for my empire and gather more resources. Does anybody choose another first? Why?

What I build next changes from time to time, but I prefer the bombardment capital ship, because oh do I love to watch enemy planets engulfed in firestorms. Granted I cant win a fight against an easy enemy yet but I am learning.. I think. RTS are by far my favorite genre of games and Sins is above and beyond anything I have ever played.

My question is in the title. I decided to play as the Advent, just randomly, and noticed that they seem to put alot of emphasis on Culture. Granted I dont know the mechanics very well yet so I took to these forums and saw ...

<pubDateParsed>2011-12-20T12:58:59</pubDateParsed>
New player trying to figure out Culture wins?

Still new to MP, so I want some help on basics for playing pvp matches.
