Deskscapes and Windows Gadgets

Running Win7_64 Professional, ATI4870, Intel i920, 6GB of RAM, dual monitors

When running Deskscapes, initially everything works fine but after a while the desktop gadgets remain on top at all times instead of being covered over by the active window.

I can turn off deskscapes, reboot, and turn it back on and the gadgets will be covered up by the focus window again but only for a time. I'm not sure if it's related to the monitors shutting off (after 20 mins) or not yet but am watching ...

HI.

After 2 weeks of trying many thing, and suggestions, I had to, at least temporarily, uninstall Dreamscapes all together. No matter what I did it kept locking up my PC. Even disabling it did not work. Now with it fully uninstalled my system runs fine again.

All I run in the background is Norton 360, Malwarebytes, WindowBlinds (latest), Icon Packager and Cursorfx. All of which "should" play well together, with the possible exception of Norton. I am actually starting to get sick of this p...

Monitor goes to sleep

When DeskScapes is enabled monitor is going to sleep after 5 min. Any Video player or game doesn't cause similar problem! Whan may be the matter here? Help, please!!!!!!

Deskscapes and Gaming.

HI,

I of course want to "turn off" Deskscapes before I start playing a game i.e.. World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings Online. In the settings of Deskscapes where it says disable Deskscapes, what exactly does that do? I really want to remove it from memory completely. Any thoughts?

Having a wierd issue with Descscapes locking up.

I LOVE Deskscapes but something is making it lockup. I have narrowed it down to one of 2 things. First, and both of these are with WindowBlinds, IconPackager and CursorFX Pro installed, If I click on, in the settings, current desktop (the first one to the right of random) and choose a style like fit, stretch etc.. other than Auto, it locks up within a minute or about the time it should change desktops.

OR, and I usually have this uninstalled, when I install Windows Gadgets from add / remove W...

Download limit

I just purchased DeskScapes this past Wednesday (01/04/2012). So far I like it, but when trying to download animated wallpapers I am only allowed three downloads before I get the message that "You are currently at your download limit". (109790667 / 52428800) Why is this so?

Deskscapes on XP - Problem!

So, i've downloaded Deskscapes, and i've got an issue.

When i first installed it, i've searched for some more wallpapers and downloaded them.

Got that "mpeg-2" message, and downloaded new codecs.

Now, when i open DescScapes again, i can VIEW those wallpapers while browsing them, but when i try to APPLY them, nothing happens!

Anyone had some similar issue, is there a fix to this problem? :/

I did a fresh install of Win XP and downloaded Dreamscapes (Paid version). When I tried to install it told me it needed Vista or higher but still installed. however, when I tried to run it I got the "The ordinal 345 could not be located in the dynamic link libarary COMCTL32.dll" error message. What do I do now? Can't find a solution either here or by goggling it.Please help!

Hey all

New to stardock and it's products, I have just took out a Windows Blinds trial, all is working well; I also got fences, which i love and lastly I got the deskscapes trial, However I'm having a lot of issues.

Had the trials for merely 2days, deskscape has caused crashes of explorer.exe atleast 4 times since then, the actual deskscape application froze and crashed once, the actual desktop backgrounds powered by deskscape have not functioned properly if I c...

Deskscape keeps stopping random desktops

Hi,

I have Deskscape 3.5 set to random desktops and for some reason every once in a while, and at no specific time, it just stops changing desktops. If I go into the configuration at that time it is set to disable desktops even though I set it to random and never changed a thing.

Any ideas?

Deskscape wont install .dream

Hi everyone,

after updating deskscapes to version 3.5, my already installed Dreams where not shown in the Configuration-Window. (but the dreams are still in the dream directory). I tried to reinstall the dream trough the configuration window, but nothing happens. If i double click the dream File, it will play on desktop as normally and it will show in the configuration window. but when i deactivate it, it will dissapear.

Does anybody have the same problem? Or better, can anybody help ...

Is there a way for me to redirect C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\Dreams and still let deskscapes work? I have Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise. I am using Dream Manager and Deskscapes 3. I have had trouble in the past with my C drive filling up with dreams. I have the cache set at 1000mb in Dream Manager but it never seems to clear it so I end up with over 15 GB of dreams in that folder. I don't understand why a program would need to copy a file from one director...

deskscape animation pause after few seconds

i just installed the latest deskscape full edition.

when i choose animated wallpaper i see it running and after few seconds it pauses.

Do DeskScapes work with Fences?

Somehow when I run DeskScapes with Fences, my fences disappear in Vista. The icons are simply put on desktop without fences themselves. Do I need restart computer or purchase Fences Pro or do something else?

problem with deskscapes 3 and fences

So I'm running the release version of deskscapes 3 and the rc version of fences. The problem is that whenever I choose desktop collage as the active dream, the label on my fences disappear, and the quick hide feature (double-click) of fences won't work. I've never experienced this in the previous version of deskscapes 3.

How to improve my dream animation

I made a dream from an animated GIF (saved as an HD AVI and then converted over to MPeG. The video works fine when I set it to repeat play. The trouble is that the file has a brief pause in the animation when the DREAM file rewinds (or whatever it is doing).

I would like a nice, smooth transition. Any help on this? I have plenty of tools and all the source images I need - and can create more as needed.

So i bought Deskscapes 2 years ago & it shows its Deskscapes Vista 2.0 but i have new PC with Windows 7 & i installed it & all it does is take my current theme witch a couple lamborghini pix that change & blends them together but doesn't show the dream i chose. Do i have to upgrade to a newer version for windows 7?

Deskscapes hangs explorer.exe on startup

I have been using Deskscapes and everything appears to work fine except when the computer restarts after shutdown or reboot Deskscapes hangs explorer and explorer.exe has to be closed out and then restarted and then works fine. Otherwise if I deactivate Deskscapes before I shutdown then everythings loads up fine when the computer turned on. Anyone experience this problem. I run Windows 7 32bit

CubeDesktop and DeskScapes

I recently downloaded the trial version of a program known as CubeDesktop (information here). It is a program that allows you to have 6 virtual desktops at once, and to switch between them in a cool cube environment... or something. My OD subscription has long since expired, but I had Deskscapes running on my old PC.

Is it possible to get it on my new PC without a new OD subscription?

deskscapes causing mmo game unstable

basically heres the drill.

intel i7 X58 2.66ghz

3gb DDR3 triple channel ram

thats more than enough.

GTX460 1gb OC edition (gigabyte)

Geforce 210 512mb

HPw19b 19" widescreen monitor running @ 1440 x 900 (on the 460)

generic monitor running @ 1024 x 768 (on the 210)

if i have deskscape installed and either active or paused, it makes final fantasy XIV highly unstable.

the game wont send data to the servers and gets huge spikes in received because of not sending ...
