So what do you do during your evenings? Me, I hunt around the various Stardock websites looking for problems. Yea, I have no life. Our sites and servers are growing and evolving so fast that we often miss things.

I love my job. Every once in a while, while going through a file, I will come across something that I think is extremely important, that might make our case. Then, I show it to a superior and say, "Look what I found!"

First Business Trip

Well, this was certainly a big deal to me. I've never been out of the office, or really dealt with any insureds in a meaningful way. But this time, I went out on a document gathering mission. To their credit, this insured was very cooperative and had everything basically laid out for us. We're shipping a box home and have left orders for them of what to copy for us.

Weird Sorting Technique

So, I was looking through a bunch of financial statements today. The statements appeared to not be in any order. It would have 2003, then 2004, then 2005, but within it the months were all scattered. Finally, it hit me - they were ordered alphabetically.

April, August, December, February, January, July, June, March, May, November, October, September. It makes no sense, yet that's the way it is. Since I'm crosschecking it vs. something else, I'm working backword - November, October, then ...

Chinese courts convict over 759,230 people last year

JINAN, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- More than 759,230 suspects were convicted in China in the January-November period last year, while a relatively small number -- 1,464 people -- were found innocent, according to supreme court statistics released on Saturday.

The convicted number rose 4.3 percent from the same period in 2005, and crime cases handled in courts also grew to 593,020, 1.6percent higher than a year before, the official statistics shows.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The White House denied on Monday the saying by NBC, a major television network in the United States, that Iraq has fallen into a civil war.

The situation in Iraq is serious, but neither U.S. President George W. Bush nor Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki believe Iraq conflict is a civil war, National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said.

When I first started working for ann summers i hated it because i could'nt get any parties i done my first one 3 weeks ago and i loved it i had so much fun doing it.
people always ask me well are'nt you scared about talking about all the toy's infront of peopole that you dont know,but no i aint really cuz it's part of the job it's a laugh once you get started.

I work for a small company (about 100 employees). We have spent a lot of time trying to secure our network from external threats. We use an outside filtering service on our email to protect us from SPAM and virus threats. We have an excellent firewall. The services we offer to our clients and employees outside of the office are closely guarded so that if a problem arises we know of it quickly.

I've lost quite a bit of time this week m igrating to Outlook. I am sure it'll be wonderful when I finsih but in the meantime it's been a major pain. The main issue with it has been moving the hundreds of thousands of emails I've received in Outlook Express over the past 4 years over to it.

I took advantage of my not-completely-fair flex time to simply go home while the migration took place which took several hours to read in all the files and then remove the tens of thousands of duplicates. ...

I am a net admin for a small company. We have roughly 100 employees at 4 sites. We really do our best to provide as much protection for our business without spending any more money than necessary. We outsource our mail filtering so that we do not need to hire an additional person to manage it and so on.

At 4PM EST (which is about 35 minutes from now) we will be having a Stardock conference on #stardock on the IRC server irc.stardock.com.

Users can go into the #questions channel to ask questions and then those questions will be relayed over to #stardock where Stardock's development team will be answering them.

The topics of discussion are primarily DesktopX 3, DesktopX 3 Pro, and Multiplicity. But other topics are open for discussion as well.
