Money: minimum wage just went up $0.70 to $7.25/hour. So that’s about $28 bucks a week before taxes, or a couple of large pizzas, hold the extra cheese.

When the lowest paid Minion gets about $7/hour and the average CEO gets north of $2,500/hour, our pay scale is whacked. But heck, that’s America. Right or wrong?

Well, this was certainly a big deal to me. I've never been out of the office, or really dealt with any insureds in a meaningful way. But this time, I went out on a document gathering mission. To their credit, this insured was very cooperative and had everything basically laid out for us. We're shipping a box home and have left orders for them of what to copy for us.

So, I was looking through a bunch of financial statements today. The statements appeared to not be in any order. It would have 2003, then 2004, then 2005, but within it the months were all scattered. Finally, it hit me - they were ordered alphabetically.

Chinese courts convict over 759,230 people last year

JINAN, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- More than 759,230 suspects were convicted in China in the January-November period last year, while a relatively small number -- 1,464 people -- were found innocent, according to supreme court statistics released on Saturday.

The convicted number rose 4.3 percent from the same period in 2005, and crime cases handled in courts also grew to 593,020, 1.6percent higher than a year before, the official statistics shows.
