You probably remember the Spanish version of my game Chronicles of the Four Dragons that has been released by Arcano XIII a while back. They not only translated it into Spanish but also prettified it and added some very cool artwork.

Today I am proud to release a new English version of Chronicles of the Four Dragons laid out by Arcano XII’s Antonio Rivera. Check it out!

WR&M Tactics – beta testers required!

Christopher Brind has written a very interesting supplement for Warrior, Rogue & Mage that adds some extra depth to combats. “Tactics” is inspired by action-point based systems found in games like Space Hulk and provides each player with a number of action points that can be spend on various actions. At this moment Christopher is looking for beta testers willing to help him playtest these new rules.

Cronicas de los Cuatro Dragones

The guys at Arcano XIII have done it again! They translated and released another Stargazer Games title in Spanish. This time they took my pretty barebones roleplaying game “Chronicles of the Four Dragons” and turned it into a beautifully laid out PDF.

The new artwork by Jesús “Terminus Est” Calvero fits my vision of the game perfectly. If you are into anime-inspired roleplaying games and familiar with the Spanish language you definitely should check out Crónicas de los Cuatro Dragones!

Download issues?

Since I moved all our products to Google Docs/Drive two people reported that they have issues downloading the PDFs. I have tried figuring out what went wrong, but I am afraid I couldn’t. For me the links work perfectly fine, regardless of whether I am logged on or not or from where I try to access the files.

What I need is your help. Even if you already have downloaded all of our games before, please go the product pages here at Stargazer Games and check if the “Download Now” links work for you. Please use a simple click and don’t righ-click to use “Save link under…”. If everything works fine, you should get to a Google Docs/Drive preview that shows the product in question and allows you to download the file.

If it doesn’t, please give me some feedback in the comments below or on our forums. And check if you have problems with downloading stuff from Google Drive/Docs in general. Thanks for your help!

Warrior, Rogue & Mage to be translated into German

Some months ago someone contacted me and asked me for permission to translate WR&M into German. This wasn’t actually necessary, because the license I released the game under allows that anyway, but it was the nice thing to do. Of course I gave my permission and some time later the guy working on the project sent me his drafts.

Alas since then I haven’t heard anything about that again. Recently more and more people have asked me about a German version of WR&M and so I finally caved in. I am going to do the translation myself. The advantage of doing the translation myself is that I don’t have to slavishly stick to the English version. That makes writing a German version much easier without changing the actual rules.

What I will do is probably include some errata and put the content of “The Art Of Combat” into the core rulebook. I’ll also change the font I used in the layout because it had some issues.

So what does that mean for the English version? Depending on how things work out I may release an errata or even an updated version of the original game. Depending on how much work I am willing to put into it, I might even release a newly laid out version.

Dear friends,

recently I became aware that there might be an issue with my participation in OneBookShelf.com’s Blog and Podcast Support Program, being an active blogger/reviewer and my publishing efforts as Stargazer Games on the DriveThruRPG/RPGNow marketplace. In order to avoid any conflicts of interest that may cause trouble in the future I’ve decided to cancel my publishers agreement with them.

That means that all products available there will not be available anymore in the near future. I know this will cause some inconveniences for you. But rest assured that everything will be available for download in the future. I just moved all my stuff to my Google Docs account where you can download all Stargazer Games’ products. The download links are available on the respective product pages.

If there are any questions to this, feel free to comment below. And thanks for you understanding and continued support.

UPDATE: OneBookShelf actually acted pretty fast because the account has already been closed. If you have trouble downloading our games, please let me know.

An update on Stargazer Games’ download totals

From time to time I like to share the download numbers of our games with our fans. Luckily RPGNow provides us with some pretty handy tools for that purpose. Especially WR&M is available from other sources as well, so it may actually have been downloaded more often. But in my opinion the numbers from RPGNow are still impressive enough. Without further ado here are the “sales” numbers up until today:

But even if that’s the case, it’s still quite an achievement. I am also overjoyed everytime WR&M comes up in an rpg.net discussion or is mentioned in a blog that has been unknown to me before.

I also want to thank everyone who contributed to one of the games above, wrote about them, played them, told their friends about them. You guys are awesome – all of you!

Tactical combat in WR&M (or any other Wyrm System game)

Earlier today Christopher Brind contacted me today and let me know about a cool ruleset for tactical games he has designed for WR&M. It’s modeled loosely after the system from the classic Games Workshop game Space Hulk and you may also know similar systems from turn-based computer games like Jagged Alliance or Ufo: Enemy Unknown.

If you are interested in a more tactical combat in WR&M and any other Wyrm System game, check out Christopher’s blog post on the subject. He is currently planning to do some playtesting. If you like the idea, why not head to his site and leave some feedback?

The Known Lands of Vaneria

For the longest time fans of the Warrior, Rogue & Mage RPG have been wondering how the lands of Vaneria look like. This question is now answered!

Matt Jackson, blogger amd cartographer extraordinaire, has created a map for the Fallen Empire of Vaneria. Here is is:

When I wrote WR&M I only had a faint idea of what the known world looked like but Matt managed to turn my words into an awesome map. I especially like the city icons. Adorable!
There was also the question of scale that had to be tackled. In the end we settled for a size comparable to Greece.
