Monday February 13, 2012: Dreams and the Sun AQ/Moon Scorpio Blend

In Virginia, around 11:00 am this morning under a Scorpio Moon, President Obama releases his 'budget', that dreamy list of numbers that no one in Washington takes seriously. The US does not have an official budget and no laws are ever signed to make it so--by design, no doubt. This budget will hint at what the president 'would do' if he's re-elected. An app is available for the public consideration so check the White House website if you wish.

As you know, in Mundane Astrology the travels of Earth's Moon through the Zodiacal signs tell us something about our public mood and daily lives with the fluctuating Moon changing signs about every 2 1/2 days.

Blending traits of the Moon's sign with the day's Sun sign, we may glean flavors of daily events and the people involved in them--Sun = the leader, Moon = the people. So let's see if there are hints, budgetary or otherwise, within today's Sun AQ/Moon Scorpio combination of Air-Water signs, a misty and ethereal blend to be sure, perfect for the visionary dreams of a president operating under monetary restraints especially since rigid yet watery Scorpio, with its deep passions and emotions, is the sign of Big Business.

A Sun AQ/Moon Scorpio blend describes keen insight, pride, fierce principles, and self-reliance which exerts a powerful and hypnotic magnetism within the environment. This is a combo of an ambitious reformer (though as you know, the US tax code remains un-reformed and clunky.)

Emotionally, it's a blow hot'n'cold blend which tends to get mired within its own dogmatic opinions and prejudices so we may expect lots of push back from Obama opponents concerning what is really just a wisp of a budget proposal, not real at all. You've seen it before since 2011: Jupiter/Neptune = Uranus: imaginary v real; sudden recognition of a difficult situation; coming down to earth with bump.

Curiously, the Sun AQ/Moon Sco blend is shared natally by a (John) Adams descendant and I shall close this post with his most famous quote which, along with the Sun AQ/Moon Sco combo, begins This Week in Washington with this flavor:

Yesterday I published something about the President signing the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 in private, before midnight, just beyond the heart of Winter's darkness, behind the scenes, out of public view or certain knowledge. A strong hint of Astrology permeated my post and for this I won't apologize since Astrology makes such an excellent lens through which to eye the squirmings and spunned illusions of the varmints who eye each one of us 24/7.

As a dissenting American in the Thomas Jefferson tradition (The Seer whose name is now publicly evoked by certain presidential candidates--as if!), I call out those who would pass laws that pretend to supersede (yet another super!) the US Constitution as the Law of the Land.

No lawyer here, but I do entertain opinions on these topics which I will share with you. No law is more important than the people who bow under it--the bow must be willing to create an effective law--even God assures us that 'the law was made for man, not man for the law'); and, a country with a myriad of entangling, contradictory, and/or idolicized laws is a land of criminals, thieves, and brigands.

Well, in spite of what some might assume, I'm not against the US government at all, I just want the misguided, misdirected Constitution busters tossed out of it. If America's progressed Sun has to be in murky Pisces for years, its two fishes symbol swims Up as well as Down, as you know. And this particular American prefers the Up direction for my country, thanks very much.

Okay, that's enough personal venting for this beautiful Sabbath Day. Didn't intend to, it just happens sometimes. I tend to be maternal in that way and want the best for everyone.

And as Benjamin Franklin said, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."

Visions and Provisions

If you note in the second half of this video interview with Chris Hedges, they go into details over the NDAA and its unconstitutionality which destroys the American people's protections under our Bill of Rights. As an American, how patriotic would I be if I didn't take issue with this allegedly 'legal' assault on my and my family's personal liberties--and yours? Why, provisions in the NDAA undermine to the core the ideals this nation is said to have been founded upon--an Idea of a Better Society, a Golden Atlantis v2, as they've touted it. Now shady entities want to dismantle The American Experiment in support of Bigger Plans.

As this interview brings out, the tip of the totalitarian iceberg peeks out and it's the freaky neocons again, my friends, scurrying from their lairs into the camera lights and microphones of 2012. You know what burdens their 8 out-of-control years laid upon the world and so recently, too. Are we self-destructive enough to spring and vote for more perpetual war from weapons promoters and power brokers whose activities are part of the problem and certainly are not the solution?

Now if you've read this far you must be wondering how long my blog will be available online. Well, I'm very sorry to report circa 2012 that we're thinking along the same lines. Therefore, hear Chris Hedges interviewed while ye may, and if you speak astrologese, note how descriptive are their remarks concerning the PR circus Washington actors played in the lead-up to the Dec 31, 2011 signing of NDAA 2012 by the President. The spin was in as the White House blamed Carl Levin for including the offensive provision and the secret plot thickened.

Also note that, when translated into Astrology, the secretive signing took place around the time that Mr. Obama's natal Mars 22Vir35 (motivation; action) arose at the White House with US natal Neptune (illusions, deceptions, fraud, veils, etc) tagging along...and the fog (Nep) of war (Mars) grew thicker over the heads of innocent Americans just trying to live their lives in--dare I say it?--the peace our government doesn't always afford to others.

My Further Reading suggestion was demonstrated this week by the President's about-face on the trumped up 'contraception/Vatican' brouhaha since Mr. Obama's
Mars Return 2012 is in progress (a three-fer: Jan 14, Feb 1, June 18) and transit Mars is now retrograde as the President reversed his actions on and handling of the matter.

One more thing about the interview above: I can't whole heartedly agree about (pseudo-) candidate Ron Paul. To me he plays in part the role of devil's advocate but not just for the sake of argument, as the term is normally applied. Rep. Paul is tops in expressing views that are inconvenient for the powers that be and thereby his inclusion in our public discourse diverts or obscures any serious efforts toward ever implementing--or prosecuting--any of his more popular proposals into the 'real world' unless they are molded and weakened into a very toothless form.

This tactic acts as something of a pressure release for the public, they think. And besides, what politician in Washington would cooperate on derailing his/her fancy gravy train? How ugly that their own self-interests more and more often seem to trump ours.

Lately we hear a lot about 'super' things in our society but not being a sports fan these last several years, I totally missed this year's Super Bowl broadcast, the commercials, and the much-touted Half Time Show which, according to Mark Dice, was replete with all the Illuminati symbolism the New World Order crowd could supply bwo rock music 'stars' acting like 'goddesses' for the public's edification--and which caused millions of viewers to, in effect, worship their lousy luciferian symbols.

Note Mark's comments near video's end concerning President Obama signing the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (aka, NDAA) on New Year's Eve while we (well, you) were partyin' on down in celebration--not of losing provisions in our Bill of Rights, but of Year 2012, when some say our feathers are scheduled to hit some kind of Venusian/Sunspot fan.

Here's the PDF of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 if you wish to check it out. Some of it reads as if written by a fifth grader, but have at it, if you dare.

Searching for the precise time of the bill's signing has proven fruitless though Mr. Obama is said to have signed it in private (aka, secret) on 'December 31, 2011'--so as long as we're thinking along Satanic/Illuminati lines, why not look at 11:11 pm est?

Which sign, degree, and planet were rising at the White House on December 31, 2011 at 11:11 pm?, you may ask. Here are two Angular considerations involving midpoints of combined planetary energies to consider:

11:11 pm est ASC 26Vir44; Mars 20:09 rising with Fixed Star Denebola ('to go against society'--ya think?) which puts President Obama's ongoing Mars Return 2012 well within the bill's Surveillance and Motivation spotlight.

Of course, you know that America's natal and Secondary Progressed Neptune rises as well since he and we have that 'rock star' Mars/Neptune conjunction between us where veils cover Mr. Obama's motivations and actions from We the People's clear view. A midpoint picture is thus created at 11:11 pm:

Mars/Neptune = ASC: strong mental focus on subtle ways to coerce or compel others into adopting your ideas.

Descriptive enough for you? Maybe fear-mongering is a large part of the bill's objective. Works for me!

Important here are the Political implications of the Mars/Neptune combo which apply to our topic and which Michael Munkasey gives as:

Thesis: the threat of war or force to be used against the ideals of the people or the country (exactly!); military rule as a form of national glamour.

Antithesis: scandals involving the Armed Forces; use of industrial espionage; delusion about the strength of the military; military spying or spies.

This also implicates America's problematic Mars/Neptune square from Gemini to Virgo with its misguided, misdirected military actions and confused or deceptive motivations (sneaky spying included.) Yes, the fog (Neptune) of war (Mars) is tiresomely indicated once again but with H.R. 1540, the murkiness and deceptive practices of war are now more than ever being re-directed against We the People, innocent or not.

Now there are many interesting chart factors for the late evening of Dec 31, 2011 which I have no time to discuss today but I do want to mention another one which is also Angular (and thus, has room and place for expressing its energies--this one is all too descriptive of what's being done against the rights, liberties, and lives of the American people with the NDAA.)

Mars/Uranus = MC (The Goal) 26Gem17: "putting a pistol to someone's head"; an act of violence; the execution of drastic and violent measures; injury; an operation; an extraordinary achievement (Ebertin); new approaches to effecting social changes of lifestyles (of the poor and droned?); approval given for work done while pushing for modernization (Munkasey.)

The Political potentials for the explosive Mars/Uranus duo:

Thesis: reforming a military organization; changes within the armed forces of a nation; unplanned military actions.

Antithesis: malice, unrest, and violence (drones to watch over actions of the Occupy Movement and other protesters?); radical movements within the military; rebellion against modernization efforts; sudden attacks or outbreaks of hostility (what Washington fears?)

Then there's the planet of bills and signings (also chart-ruler), Mercury 20Sag04 in 3rd house (11:11 pm est) squaring Mars in 12th H of Politics, Behind-the-Scenes deals, Karma, and Self-Undoing which, since Mars is is process of returning to natal position in Mr. Obama's horoscope, represents the president himself--signing the bill 'privately' behind-the-scenes, out of public view.

Mercury SQ Mars denotes many things on various levels such as Mercury (young people; reporters/bloggers; Occupiers/protesters, etc) being blocked (SQ) by Mars (Obama, and military combatants and activists) which describes drone surveillance across America. Alternately, Mars is blocked by Mercury showing on one level that the president will find himself in conflict with others because he signed a bill containing the Bill-of-Rights-denying provision for drones with the notions of one man in the White House marking American citizens for arrest, imprisonment, or death--from the sky. (See a dollar bill if you have one--the Eye in the Sky is watching over each and every one, more than ever.)

Of course, you know that I don't believe a US president is in full control of his actions and policies any more if indeed they ever were. Illuminati-transnational monetary globalists are behind this bill and they mean to stifle dissent in the US over their totalitarian vision, for one thing. Their meddling is part of what's behind Internet censorship like SOPA as well so I'd better finish this post while I still can.

And then the Sun 10Cap08 (the UK's natal Sun) remains near transiting Pluto 7Cap20 so it isn't surprising that when I moved the chart to 11:59 pm to see the last dregs of 2011, the IC (Foundation of the Matter; Endings) became 7Cap20, a precise conjunction with spying Pluto at 7Cap20--Mr. Underworld of Invisible Helmet fame, the mysterious, subversive, controlling, fear-mongering actor at the base of the matter.

Curiously, Pluto's position at '8Cap' has a telling *Sabian Symbol, imho:

'8Cap' = "Birds in the House Singing Happily" which to my mind links to US natal Pluto @ '28Cap'..."A Large Aviary", and this I take to denote a happy Pentagon now able to rub out any US citizen it wants for reasons unknown--"legally."

Yet if you question why I mix the Pentagon, Pluto, and 'A Large Aviary' into one abusive clump, check out a must-read article Planet Earth as Weapon and Target by the excellent Leuren Moret, if you haven't.

Yes, it's a difficult read to be sure, but we're dealing with very difficult people whose interests Do Not Mix with those of us who much prefer to keep a sovereign America and our freedom documents intact, thanks very much.

Let's close with a brief excerpt from Dr. Moret's article which concerns today's beginning topic, the Illuminati and their favorite project, a NWO:

Speaking of abuse of power, did you hear that Rep. Spencer Bachus is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for insider trading while he's been allegedly 'overseeing' financial institutions who donate mightily to his campaign chest?

Mm-hmm. Foxes are guarding our hen house, yall. But it's doubtful Mr. Bachus has very much to worry about for the 'Ethics' Committee has become quite toothless and gummy these days unless this becomes a situation in which his alleged lack of integrity cannot be denied or swept under a congressional rug.

How amusing to remember that during the Bush-Cheney regime, a scandal-ridden Congress made a big PR show of attending 'ethics' classes, remember? Obviously they had better (more lucrative) things to do.

World Empire was Hitler's goal--What do Republicans want?

The excellent History Today has an interesting feature concerning Adolf Hitler's plan to establish the capital city of 'his' World Empire (aka, New World Order), a remaking of Berlin which he intended to call, Germania. Guess the usual NWO vision of a global kingdom being set up in Jerusalem (with a 'King of Jerusalem' ruling all, a devilish-on-purpose and misguided reading of Biblical prophecy and of Christ's mission on earth since His was a spiritual kingdom, not an earthly one)--well, a spiritual kingdom wasn't what the German dictator wanted, was it?

And I can't imagine what Hitler in his day thought of Jerusalem since it's full of you-know-whos. Yet Hitler's DNA is said to confirm his Jewish (and African) heritage! How inconvenient this must have been for WWII's psychopath-in-chief when issuing pogroms assuming that he was aware of his own ancestry. Once again, karma is a witch for he was actually condemning himself!

Born April 20, 1889 at 6:30 pm in Braunau am Inn, Austria, here's a view of Hitler's natal horoscope.

He and his brand new wife, Eva Braun, committed suicide (or did they?) on April 30, 1945 @ 3:30 pm CEDT in a Berlin bunker with both an Angular Moon 14Sag29 conjunct IC (15:15) and an Angular Jupiter 17Vir50 Rx rising (ASC 18Vir52.) In death charts, these are the two celestial bodies so often Angular at death, both or singularly.

Plus, one of the planets closely associated with Astrology, Uranus (another being Saturn), is Angular as well--conjunct MC 15Gem15 (The Goal Point) which may be icing on the Angular cake in a Death Horoscope. Yet Uranus @ MC supports a potential for a 'death ruse' by which his alleged demise could have been timed by an astrologer or astrologers with an Angular Moon and Jupiter since Hitler & crew are said to have consulted astrologers for guidance and timing. That's if they realized then that future astrologers would check Hitler's Death Chart for confirmation of his demise--and naturally we would do just that.

So if we take Hitler's Death Horoscope as a true blueprint of his suicide, chart factors weight toward the 'yes he did' side rather than the 'death ruse' side. 1945's Pluto 7Leo56 (11th house of Hopes, Wishes, Associations), planet of death, suicide, subversion, destruction, and transformation, is out-of-bounds from the earthly plane (a 'special' death?) yet the planet of Invisibility is focal planet of a particular midpoint of the two NWO planets, Uranus and Neptune ('turning from confusion and finding a new path'--Munkasey; Enlightenment; mysticism--Ebertin), which forms a planetary picture:

Uranus/Neptune = Pluto: abandonment of resistance; the necessity to give in; calamities, losses, catastrophes; ideas which can change the world. (Ebertin; Munkasey.)

Hitler definitely entertained such ideas (exs: 'Germania' and a World Empire ruled by his nibs.)

Plus, you know of the most descriptive Sabian Symbol for the Great Conjunction/s of Uranus and Neptune, the NWO planets, all through 1993: '18 Capricorn'...

"The Union Jack Flies from a British Destroyer" = POLITICAL POWER, which Marc Edmund Jones gives as, "smug or strong-armed paternalism" in its negative expression. We could ask our peacefully assembled, pepper-sprayed Occupiers about that, circa 2011/2012.

Adding a thimble full of fuel to the 1945 Plutonian midpoint picture above and the Uranus/Neptune meet-up in 1993 is the fact that '19Cap' = Pluto's South Node degree which has a difficult Saturn/Pluto connotation of separation, loss, hardship, and brutality.

So yes, planets in Hitler's Death Horoscope do seem to indicate that his suicide actually occurred 'as advertised', yet there are midpoint pictures in the chart which may or may not give a different flavor to the proceedings of April 20, 1945 in Berlin--see what you think:

Sun/NN = (Angular) Uranus: friends who provide the right connections (to secret yourself off to Britain or to parts unknown?)

Venus/Neptune = NN 10Can49: associations with others who are able to effect deceptions and illusions (pouf!) Also: an unhappy union (the newly weds?) (The 3 to 14 degree range of Cancer always hints at USA involvement, doesn't it?)

Pluto/MC = NN: club memberships that help achieve one's purposes (to go underground?); people with powerful influence.

1945's South Node (SN) conjoined the UK's natal Sun in Capricorn, btw, which may or may not be significant.

Well, these midpoint pictures are not conclusive for his survival so I'd have to say that based on his Death Chart, Hitler did commit suicide as reported through the decades. The April 30, 1945 transits certainly 'hit' many of AH's natal planets in negative ways (ex: tr Saturn opposed natal Moon 6Cap38 and n Jupiter 8Cap15 indicating a very dampening period in his life such as: unfortunate circumstances; emotional deprivation linked to the past; thwarted desires; health problems; personal growth frustrated by authority figures; problems through unresolved conflicts; giving back what was gained, etc) proving that even self-exalted 'leaders' are not out of reach of the bad karma they themselves created in life by their heinous and criminal actions because all must reap what is sown.

And that goes for those politicians who currently infest Washington DC by working to undermine US sovereignty on behalf of a misguided march toward totalitarian Global Governance.

Blog Note: glad to say that some of my tech difficulties have been resolved today, thus I blog as a brief respite from packing for an office relocation. However, I'm following Thom Hartmann today and agree with Thom's assessment of and disappointment with the STOCK Act which just hastily passed the House 417 to 2 (agreement on The Hill?!!!)

Is this merely a public relations ploy by the guilty who wish to pass a bill that obfuscates their already ill-gotten gains through insider trading?

Thing is, the GOP's Eric Cantor made certain that the 'political intelligence' provision was removed thus giving the bill the usual toothlessness which wealthy Wall Street toffs require from their bought-and-paid-for handmaidens who 'legislate' up on Capitol Hill.

Oh, and the deal with Wall Street and the corrupt mortgage industry that Presient Obama touts today is pathetic for it lets off the hook the crooks, thieves, and robo-signers who should be tried and sent to prison for their heists against US consumers and home owners. Allegedly, states' rights to sue the miscreants will still be possible, and hopefully so.

One more astro-note on Hitler: born during the Great Conjunction of Neptune and Pluto (the Robber Baron duo), his natal Neptune 00Gem51 in natal 8th house of Death and the Occult will be 'hit' by the upcoming Solar Eclipse of May 20, 2012 @ 00Gem21 which conjoins the difficult Fixed Star Alcyone.

Full Moons bring up for our consideration issues of relationships, full awareness, and perhaps a fulfilment or an ending in some domain of life; they are the culmination of something begun at the last New Moon, the seed stage of a monthly process, two weeks prior.

Today the Sun 18AQ32 conjoins Mercury 18:56 upon the natal Ascendant of President Barack Obama which indicates a day or so when the president's personality shines and his goals may be favorably spotlighted.

But that isn't all concerning this afternoon's Full Moon in Leo for it reflects the same degree of the eclipse forecasted by doctor, seer, and astrologer, Nostradamus. But let's let sleeping lemurs lie for now and focus on the Leo/AQ axis of Will emphasized this afternoon which includes all the facets of Sun-ruled Leo (proud; regal; a leader; creative; egotistical; Divine Child) and Aquarius, ruled by Saturn with genius Uranus as its higher octave influence.

Aquarius: the humanitarian, philanthropist, intellectual, professor, technician, and, perhaps above all, scientist--describe the usual suspects in the archetypal realms of our dualistic world for the celestial sign of the Water Bearer.

Yes, everyone loves a Full Moon! Well, almost everyone since sneaky stuff by the crooked might better remain undiscovered if perpetrated on or near a New Moon, a 3 or 4 day period when nights are darker.

Glad Mr. Obama decided to get over his SuperPAC scruples since foreign and domestic corporatists and other billionaires and monarchists will be purchasing the White House more brazenly than ever before if We The People don't come out in droves and VOTE Democratic on November 6, 2012. The Supreme Court is already out of control, let's not add to their corporatist number by voting GOP.

(Independent here, but really, we have no better choice than wimpy and not-so-wimpy Democrats.)

A Solar Eclipse last manifested in this series on July 1, 2000 @ 10Can15 which greatly affected US natal planets in Cancer, mainly Jupiter '6Can' (monetary policy) and the Sun '14Can' (the leader, or, leadership; the president.) In fact, this eclipse degree was triggered on July 1, 2011 by a Solar Eclipse @ 9Can12, the initial eclipse in a new series.

As for his financial expertise and advising of FDR on monetary policies, Roerich was born with the promise of lucky breaks and financial opportunities because a Jupiter/Uranus sextile (60 degr) attuned him to the financial cycles and peaks of Jupiter and Uranus (as timed by their sextiles and trines) of his day. The Jupiter/Saturn opposition phase is "strongly recessive," says Sybil Leek. Can you feel it, even with Jupiter moved ahead into Earthy, practical Taurus and Saturn hanging back at the end of Airy Libra? Things are shifting now...

So Jupiter's growth function works well with Uranus' change function, a teamwork that denotes business peaks which may be clearly seen--not only with Astrology--but in stock market records which detail the approximately 3 1/2-year business cycle of Jupiter and Uranus (3.45 years actually.) Many traders know of the 3 1/2 year cycle yet few if any can explain the How or Why of it--unless Financial Astrology is employed for timing purposes.

For years I've planned a SO'W column on America's Great Seal, both sides, with their Egyptian/Freemason symbols. A phoenix rising from the ashes--from a fire of its own making uncomfortably reminds me of the attacks of 9/11 and the US government's misdirected response which has turned our nation into a bird of quite a different feather than that of the majestic eagle we've been led to appreciate as our American symbol.

And yet an eagle's excellent eyesight as it soars high above is perfectly echoed by invasive spy satellites overhead, circa 2012.

The Humbug, Rot, False Pretense of War and a Solar Eclipse

Since World War I there have been many wars, revolutions, and conflicts across the globe, a circumstance which gives lie to President Woodrow Wilson's declaration of war on the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria) which was sold by Wilson and global-bankster-funded operatives to the American people as a "war to end all war" and as the way to "make the world safe for democracy", a crock of propagandistic hooey if there ever was one.

Why, some people dare describe WWI as what it was: the seed of future conflicts!

And naturally you know that Washington uses appeals to our emotions to get us marching off to foreign lands, right? And always with a zealous patriotic flair. Yet I believe that the Solar Eclipse Series in which WWI fell tells the true motivation for America entering WWI. See what you think:

Eugene Debs Holds Power Accountable

You may wish to read a full transcript of Eugene Debs' famous anti-war speech delivered June 16, 1918 in Canton Ohio. That his words apply so closely to today's events and political machinations makes me very sad for my country. As in previous decades, in America we're not supposed to look too closely at war or at those in Washington who drum it up and profit obscenely from its waging and the pillaging that attends it (in league with their foreign financiers who back both sides of all conflicts--including stirring up racial tensions in the US, another post entirely.)

Here are a couple of other quotes which, when applied to Politics, still ring true after all these years because human nature doesn't change as much as we'd like to assume it does in our 'modern times':

"Many people today don't want honest answers insofar as honest means unpleasant or disturbing. They want a soft answer that turneth away anxiety."

-Louis Kronenberger (1904-1980)

(Blog Note: soft answers are what I usually attempt to avoid here on SO'W if they're not warranted since we get plenty of those everywhere we turn already. My four natal planets in Capricorn expect realism from me concerning political matters, not rosy illusions. jc)

And, from a master political operative whose tactics are emulated still by determined usurpers of the 'success at any cost' persuasion:

Yet most astrologers require more than simple appearances, don't we? Peeking under the hood of Politics often reveals many squirmy things, some too ugly to consider. And yet monsters must be identified and faced in order to vanquish them.

Curiously, the transiting midpoint of the speculator/grand schemer pair, Jupiter and Neptune, are in and out of a relationship with disruptive Uranus in Mars-ruled Aries (Uranus in Aries = 'Utopians', says Reinhold Ebertin) at apex of their midpoint. You've heard this one before:

Jupiter/Neptune = Uranus: experiencing the contrast between imagination and reality; sudden recognition of a difficult situation. (Ebertin.)

From a 2007 post, here's something I wrote concerning the natal planets of Eugene V. Debs, an interesting man even if he was a 'socialist':

An orator whose communication skills rivaled those of the great William Jennings Bryan, Debs' anti-war speech given in Canton, Ohio on June 16, 1918 is perhaps his most famous speech, while his appeal to the jury and statement to the court at his trial for treason (arrested and imprisoned for giving this speech against America's entry into WWI) are considered two of the great classic statements ever made in a court of law.

Born in Terre Haute, IN on Nov 5, 1855, Debs has a Sun Sco/Moon Virgo personality blend and Mercury in intense Scorpio (8Sco03 Rx, and opposite Pluto...Mercury/Pluto = 'the orator; a sharp critic; the propagandist', all of which he was.)

The Sun Sco/Moon Virgo combo is intensely passionate, a relentless perfectionist, witty, conscientious, loyal, and a dedicated worker. (Dedicated to workers' issues as well, in Debs' case. And he was devoted to his wife all his life--they had no children.)

His straight-from-the-shoulder honesty and excellent mind are still on display in his speeches and can stir the heart as well as the mind of anyone who appreciates honesty and forthrightness...anyone who believes America should change course and return to higher ideals than those of the lower road brought upon us by the Bush-Cheney regime (and others--it's been a drawn-out process since Carter or even since Eisenhower, some say. Guess that would have to be Ike's warning against the "military industrial complex" notwithstanding.)

An interesting feature of Deb's natal chart (using sunrise: 6:36:55 am lmt) is his Pluto/NN conjunction at 3Tau+--the Discovery degree of Chiron (Nov 1, 1977.)

This adds an oppressive Pluto-Chiron plutocratic flavor--the very people he spoke against all his life, the plutocrats (aka, the exploiters)--to his North Nodal path (connections with the public; encountering the powerful.)

Pluto conj NN gives a special knack for seeing through prevailing social trends and the necessary drive and determination to take advantage of the ability. Negatively, this conj indicates a dangerous tendency toward attempting to manipulate social forces too large to be handled with safety--it's the tiger-by-the-tail aspect. Affairs get our of hand and there is danger of collapse(Sakoian's The Atrologer's Handbook.)

Prison terms which ruin one's health would definitely qualify here.

Debs official website where you'll find, among other things, a list of recipients of the Debs Awards Program given for contributions to the advancement of the causes of industrial unionism, social justice, or world peace. Some recipients include Molly Ivins in 2003; Howard Zinn 1998; Studs Terkel in 1983; and Edward Asner in 1987.

Eugene Debs ran for US president as the Socialist Party candidate in 1900, 1904, 1908, 1912, and 1920 (in 1920 from federal prison in Atlanta, Ga) and he must have been quite a thorn in the imperialist-robber barons' sides. Pres. Wilson "vigorously denied" a request for his pardon in 1921, but Pres Warren G. Harding released him under a general amnesty on Christmas Day, 1921.

Harding then invited Debs to stop by the White House and told him, "I have heard so damned much about you Mr. Debs, that I am very glad to meet you personally."

Well, I'm glad someone in the White House (ever) showed some shame and humility. Debs' humility and friendliness in prison had won him the respect of fellow prisoners, and personally I would have been honored to have met him myself.

Needless to say, Debs' health was broken by his years in confinement and he died in a sanitarium on Oct 20, 1926.

Now perhaps you read "Socialist Party" and cringe a bit, yet no one can deny that Eugene V. Debs gave his all for America and for social justice--losing his health and his citizenship in the process.

Whenever I read the words of Eugene Debs I feel proud of America and feel her spirit of decency--whenever I read the words of recent US administrations I feel anxious, depressed, and above all--threatened. Our liberties are their toys, and our freedoms are to be dispensed with asap. The attacks of 9/11 were about just that for we've been coup'd from without and, even more debilitatingly, from within by usurpers with strong-armed Global Governance in mind!

That the Pentagon's forceful response to 9/11 revealed yet another pretext for war seems a given to me at this late date. Can you possibly disagree?

May 2012 Eclipse attends G-8 Summit Chicago

The G-8 Summit in Chicago in May occurs under the squelching rays of the May 20, 2012 Solar Eclipse @ 00Gem01, the very essence of Gemini.

Of course, it's Occupy protesters, many of whom are offspring or friends of people you and I personally know, that the Chicago police department has been training for months to challenge, terrorize, abuse, and arrest--er, control--and these are the thuggish tactics that police superintendent Garry McCarthy sent his officers to study in Seattle (WTO 1999; about 35,000 American patriots protested 'free' trade issues which were and are jobs issues) and Pittsburgh (G-20 2009; 'violent clashes') since both cities' police squads have experience with draconian riot control measures.

Such drastic measures against free speech have been in preparation for some time in America, Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. Yes, it must be quite a bit easier to be 'brave' when you're encased in the latest state-of-the-art riot gear and opposing American citizens exercising the right to have our grievances addressed and expressing deep frustration with and strong criticism of predatory corporations and the dire results of their excessive greed and corruption.

Whatever goes down in Chicago, Illinois at the G-8 Summit May 15--22, 2012 (or at the NATO Summit, also being held there), the Fixed Star eclipsed on May 20, 2012 by the solar eclipse--Alcyone in Gemini--has keywords of some concern: something to cry about and since Gemini is the sign of Youth, Young People, Journalists, Trade, Commerce, and Messages, may only cool heads prevail and may President Obama realize that many people will put any and all brutality perpetrated by the Chicago police force against peaceful protesters smack dab on the doorstep of the Obama White House in tandem with Mayor Emanuel's obvious culpability.

Their close relationship only spotlights the connection of culpability between Washington DC and Chicago.

Actually, the doorstep of the White House is rather piled high with overboard incidents and injuries since the Occupy/99% Movement began on September 17, 2011. And all of this is occurring on President Obama's watch. May he protect US citizens who wish to protest the inequalities in our nation rather than just speechifying about them. Odd how Washington loves to tout protecting the populations of other countries (when they want to intervene) but can so easily look the other way when it's our sons and daughters here at home who are at risk.

Abuse and Misuse of Power

So it looks as if G-8 Chicago 2012 will show the whole world Power attempting to protect its elitist-authoritarian position with head-knocking and pepper-spraying considered to be a necessary part of a strong-arm agenda. Ends justify means is apparently one of The Man's mottoes in these matters but with this world view I heartily disagree, as always--no Machiavellian here.

So from underneath the elitist G-8 vibes of May 15 to May 22, 2012, Democrats and their backers will be sending a message to the American people. My prayer is that it's the message that 'of-by-for-the-people' government still lives in America even if it's feeling more than a little puny these days under the heavy weight of too-fat-to-fail global corporatists.

May our protesters be safe in Chicago! And hopefully they'll continue to be wary of police operatives using violent acts (such as window smashing, etc) to justify brutal police reactions toward the innocent. For as you know, this is a dirty tactic but a traditional one for The Man to use especially when he's desperate to stay on top.

Power to the People! Even Thomas Jefferson and other founders agreed on that.

All in One Day: from Robin Hood to a 'New Age'?

During the 24-hour period of Monday January 30, 2012, the Moon (the public; we the people; publicity), our daily and monthly timepiece, begins at a critical-crisis 29th degree (29Ari16) in setting position (conjunct Descendant) in a horoscope set for Monday at the Capitol Building, Washington DC, that temple of Masonry.

By 11:59 pm of January 30, 3012, the Moon has reached 11Tau05 after crossing over Jupiter 2Tau26/33 for a lovely Moon/Jupiter tryst. Yet this being a blog infested with Politics--and American Politics at that--the Business and Political implications of the Moon/Jupiter pair should be mentioned.

Moon/Jupiter energies include certain potential expressions within those practical realms so let's consider a paraphrase of Michael Munkasey's analysis based on the Hegelian Dialect method of Thesis and Antithesis where problems are consciously created, solutions are "debated", and a pre-determined course of action is then said by the ruling elite to be a necessary change which the people are then expected to accept where they otherwise wouldn't without the crisis the elite class created in the first place.

To paraphrase Mr. Munkasey:

Thesis: agricultural production increases; commercial or agricultural sectors see growth; women make important contributions to religious or legal practices; legal situations concerning farm or land policies (opening more land to drilling or fracking? jc)

Antithesis: floods and natural disasters; women's opinions that are over-valued; legal system as barrier to agricultural or commercial development or production; ineffective lawyers or clerics. (Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, Munkasey.)

Okay, so the Moon sailing over Jupiter may not start our week with wine'n'roses but we can still check out the Sun/Moon combinations which form during Monday (now, since it's after midnight in Georgia est) to snag a hint of the influences of the day and which will affect the entire week of activities and events. Not just in Washington DC, my former residence, but over the globe depending on which time zone you're in as Luna switches signs.

During the Reagan administration, America's secret-invisible-shadow (Neptune) government (Saturn) perpetrated many naughty things behind our backs in Nicaragua and elsewhere and the fiasco was investigated by Bill Moyers who warned that things would get worse if the American people let them.

They've gotten worse.

Not far in, you'll see a televised President Reagan in denial (I remember well that performance--not his best--plus, most children can recognize lies when they hear them.) Guess when you shill for corporate globalists with one-world-government as their ultimate goal, it isn't always easy to hide your own sticky fingerprints from turning up all over government cookie jars.

Yes, Reagan's natal Jupiter in mid-Scorpio (the Eagle Point) definitely shook its money-maker while he was in office and making backdoor deals with terrorists and other crooks. Birds of a feather? (See I Knew It Was YOU, Reagan.)

So if past if prologue and you're concerned about America's future direction (and I know ya are), mosey down this 1987 memory lane for there are dots to be connected that stretch from the 1980s to 2012. To me it seems that Reagan's "Evil Empire" projection onto others belonged just as much at home with him in the Oval Office and in the war rooms of the Pentagon, but perhaps you disagree.

The State of the Union Address 2012 will be delivered before a Joint Session of Congress by President Obama tonight, January 24, 2012 at 9:00 pm est.

Yesterday's New Moon @ '3AQ" has a 'new cycle of activity' effect for the president's agenda to put unemployed Americans back to work (Virgo rising = work, health, service including military, police, and firefighters) and allow investment possibilities to further flower (8th house Jupiter in monied, practical Taurus.)

SOTU 2012 @ 9:00 pm est; Capitol Building, Washington DC: ASC 19Vir20 with Mars 23Vir05 Rx Rising, conjunct President Obama's natal Mars 22Vir35 so he is in the midst of his Mars Return 2012, a three-fer due to the retrogradation of Mars. The red planet's Rx condition for SOTU 2012 gives minor support for House Speaker John Boehner's remark that a "pathetic rehash' is about to be presented by Barack Obama.

Still, I wouldn't want to bully or provoke any president who's just begun a drawn-out Mars Return (January 14, February 1 which includes Mr. Obama's Moon Return spotlighting that date, and June 18, 2012.) Jupiter and Saturn both square the Sun (president) which is, as noted above, conjoining Us n SN, a separative point said to be ruled by Saturn. Therefore, a dynamic T-Square pattern is formed and creates this picture:

Jupiter/Saturn = Sun: taking destiny into one's own hands; major changes according to plan, or, if nothing has been prepared, becoming gripped by the status quo and having to make the best of things (Tyl); gaining experience; inconstancy; moodiness (Ebertin.)

How Things Will Proceed from SOTU 2012

Looking at the applying aspects of the SOTU 2012 horoscope's ruler, Mercury, we see that Sun and Mercury will conjoin soon (8A49; Sun conj Mercury 17AQ59 on February 7 which stimulates the "A Man Unmasked Solar Eclipse of February 7, 2008 in the 10 North Series: 'communications emphasized; frustrations from events stemming from paperwork, news received, or young people'--Brady. Perhaps the 'young people' are Occupiers.)

But even closer is Mercury's square with critical-degreed Saturn in 2nd H of Earning Ability and Values, ruled by a well-meaning Venus in compassionate Pisces, as noted above, in Cadent 6th H (preparation stage.) Mercury SQ Saturn (3A41) shows blockages in financial matters and from or for lawmakers (Saturn in Libra, exalted yet straining to reach Scorpio), inhibitions when attempting to exploit potentials, and traditional thinking which stifles new ideas. Yes, the 2/8 Jupiter/Saturn opposition pits investment and growth against austerity measures which shrink economies--just ask the good people of Europe.

So with President Obama returning to his previous themes (Mars Rx rising) and other indications as mentioned, we may expect serious yet uplifting rhetoric this evening but with a continuation of GOP blockages to any or all of the president's old--or new--ideas for improving the social conditions in America circa 2012.

Personally, I see no other course than to be on President Obama's side against an austerity-promoting GOP especially when FDR's famous Test of Our Progress is applied to our nation in 2012. Franklin Roosevelt, with his natal Uranus in Gemini rising, said,

"The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little."

Amen.

Shall America give up her traditional Jupiterian character for the austerity and dearth of the GOP's Saturnian model? Now that's something which may become much clearer to us after the November 2012 elections.

And especially since Daniels' "right to work" effort in Indiana is actually a "right to work for less" bar-lowering of wages for American workers who fall prey to its Saturnian influence.

Now that our 2012 election year has arrived, why not compare and contrast the personality blends of the 2012 candidates: Obama, Gingrich, Romney, and Santorum? This may be quite easily accomplished by considering each of their Sun (adult; conscious mind) and Moon (child; the unconscious) combinations through their signs, elements, and modes.

Rick Santorum's birth hour is unknown to me ('noon' is used), Gingrich's birth time seems to be somewhat in question ('born in middle of night'; 11:45 pm or 3:00 am are often used; June 17, 1943 Harrisburg, PA), Mitt Romney's is said to be correct (LDS maintain major genealogical records, as you know, so correct birth certificates must be especially prized, I would think; March 12, 1947 9:51 am est Detroit, MI), and Mr. Obama's hour, date, and place of birth seem to have been settled upon: August 4, 1961 Honolulu, Hawaii @ 7:24 pm AHST.)

November 2011 and May 2012 Eclipses Spotlight Mercury/Jupiter

The current Solar Eclipse from the 14 North Saros Series in which events are occurring manifested on November 25, 2011 at 2Sag37 ('a peculiar turn of events') and the next Solar Eclipse will occur on May 20, 2012 at 00Gem21, opposite the November 2011 eclipse.

In between the two Solar Eclipses fell a Lunar Eclipse on December 10, 2011 at 18Gem11 triggering America's natal Mars in Gemini.

You remember that the November 2011 Solar Eclipse occurred within two days of the deadline of the so-called 'Super' Committee of 12 congressional elites who came to no agreement concerning their debt reduction duties, an outcome which is to trigger automatic cuts for which no single US politician may be blamed. (They think they're so slick, don't they?!)

So we haven't heard the last of the budget reduction negotiations with the American people still being held hostage to austerity promoters who are attempting to starve the baby before tossing it out with the bathwater--and the 'baby' is a sovereign and solvent America.

That austerity measures (against those who can ill afford further reductions) used as financial 'solutions' hasn't worked in Europe seems not to trouble US conservatives--or maybe they're hoping the American people won't notice the glaring obviousness by Election Day 2012.

In fact, US economist Joseph Stiglitz says that "European austerity plans are a suicide pact" that collapses economies. Well, duh! That's a major objective of the Global Governance agenda, as I've groused here many times before--to collapse the global economy and build it back in the image of the totalitarian model they prefer (the mark of the beast?), aka, a New World Order.

So with eclipses being the 'wild cards' of the Universe and since we're poised upon the spotlighted Gem/Sag axis as I type, the influences of sign rulers Mercury (Gem) and Jupiter (Sag) are active within the Collective until Solar Eclipse polarities switch emphasis to the Taurus/Scorpio (Venus/Mars-Pluto) axis with the Solar Eclipse of November 13, 2012 at 22Scorpio (more on that eclipse later.) Yet even then, one more Lunar Eclipse will manifest at 7Gemini on November 28, 2012 thus wrapping up our Gem/Sag lessons until year 2020.

Let's consider the Mercury/Jupiter combination of energies which now color many of the events and issues of 2012.

When Mercury (thinking processes, communications, senses, oration, etc) combines with Jupiter (expansion principle, growth, abundance, largess, faith, ideology, philosophy, relating, etc) an interesting dynamic is described as their planetary energies are combined and strengthened. Naturally, all things mercurial are increased by Jupiter's touch and a wealth of ideas often results. Common sense, the intellect, optimism, erudition (especially in retirement or solitude), plans for gorwth, and constructive thinking are on the menu, along with enthusiasm (for ill or good!)

On the negative side, over-stretching or ignoring boundaries and verbosity are possibilities along with a potential for exaggeration or over-embellishment which makes Washington's euphemism for their habit of telling lies--to misspeak--is prominent as well though it's difficult to imagine when falsehoods are not one of their favored tactics to get what they want by hook or crook. And some of them are or have been on the shady side including those who hide their fortunes in the darkened shade of palm tree tax shelters like the Cayman Islands, as Mitt Romney is now reported to do.

Perhaps the news that Rick Santorum actually won in Iowa rather than Mitt Romney is a Mercury/Jupiter case in point with Mercury relating to voting and Jupiter to numbers or tallies.

As Always, Jupiter and Saturn

As you know, austerity is the province of planet Saturn, and together, Jupiter and Saturn are known as our societal planets for their constant stand-off between Saturnian restriction and Jupiterian expansion describes one of society's greatest needs: balance between opposing forces to create stability, the yin-yang of our dualistic world.

And in Mundane Astrology (with this blog concerned with its sub-category, Political Astrology), Jupiter and Saturn may be used to signify America's two political parties (between which many people see little difference--I tend to think of them as factions of warring ideologies more than actually differing parties especially since they've made everything an Us v Them/class warfare stand-off.)

Now not every mundane astrologer agrees with me on this, but I use Jupiter to represent the Republican Party ('Grand' Old Party of the wealthy--as Harry Truman said of them at the 1948 DNC, they're the party of "special interests--always have been and always will be"), and Saturn for the Democrats (being the older of the two parties, a little dour at times, and not as flamboyantly theatrical--with a few exceptions through the years. Republicans do like to leave Dems with Saturn's accountability, don't they? Takes the heat off the GOP, they hope.)

Now if everyone in Washington played fairly and were open about their true allegiances, perhaps the balance we sorely need, so wistfully expected by America's founders through 'checks and balances' provisions, would be easier to maintain than we currently experience. However, ideological forces within and without our government are at work and have been since America's first cry and before.

Let's hope and pray that We the People will continue waking up to Washington's machinations and mummeries in time to Save Our Republic for we cannot automatically assume that national politicians will do so as they jockey for top positions within the devilish New World Order.

Plus, President Obama is now within his three-fer Mars Return 2012, a two-year cycle of new activity which began for him on January 14, 2012. The recent smoke bomb tossed over the White House fence garnered the president a Martian calling card and I'm glad that he and Michelle were having dinner at a restaurant down the street and were in no danger, with 'smoke' ruled by Neptune, and Mr. Obama's natal Mars 22Vir35 sitting directly upon US natal Neptune 22:25.

Currently I'm in a wait-and-see attitude as to whether the apparent smoke bomb was thrown by Occupiers for most of them had left the scene of their White house protests by the time the bomb was thrown and everyone knows the tiresome tactic that police or other entities use to stain the integrity of peaceful protests with violence by embedding police officers to cause trouble and adulterate a protest's public support on behalf of the corporate masters who sign their paychecks.

How encouraged I am that thousands of Americans (and hopefully no police department 'plants' embedded with protesters with a mission to cause trouble and discredit peaceful Occupiers) are occupying the US Congress and elsewhere today thanks to travesties of SCOTUS justice like Citizens United!

If I had a chance, I'd join them in my former city of residence and add my voice to the throng of citizens no longer under the illusion that certain anti-government operatives, who now act as members of Congress, have no intention of upholding official oaths taken to dutifully carry out the functions of their various offices in allegiance to the sovereign nation they serve and on behalf of the constituency they allegedly answer to.

January 18, 2012: Blackout Day! Save the Internet, Beat Back Corporate Raptors!

Today you can hear all about SOPA and the fight against censorship of the Internet in its current disguise as SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) which the US Senate is to vote upon on January 24, 2012 by visiting progressive broadcaster Thom Hartmann.

Thom and his skillful, plucky staff broadcast today using two laptops and a camera due to a plumbing leak above their regular studio in Washington DC. Kudos all around! (And it couldn't have been sabotage, of course! In DC? Pshaw!)

Yes, this draconian corporate ploy to take-over the Internet will, among many other things, throttle free speech online and continue the transnational drive to commercialize, privatize, and destroy all institutions and functions of our society that are meant to protect the Common Good--here, by censoring what is or isn't published or accessible on the Internet.

Is corporate censorship and re-directs the types of experiences you want as you go about your business online, fellow Americans? Many of our favorite blogs may simply go pouf! forever with nary a trace. A challenging stand-off is clearly upon us in the current form of SOPA v We the People.

Now I have groused in the past about how America was founded upon a corporate structure model (monarchistic Old World/British financial system), perhaps unfairly for it's true that what was necessary in the 1770s may not be precisely what is needed now unless it is done with integrity.

Astrologically we might look at US natal South Node (of the Moon, We the People), a point denoting past behaviors, some of which no longer work in present circumstances and so must be ID'd as 'neurotic'. The negative side of Aquarius? Detachment, cold feelings, an overly rational approach, and other such things as we've seen recently demonstrated during the 2012 Republican debates--often, by booing audiences!

But SN also denotes inherited talents or weaknesses--every case is individual, so the humanitarian sign of Aquarius, with its edgy, super-rational sides of Science, Objectivism, and Futurism, contains America's natal Moon if we use July 4, 1776 as our nation's day of founding. An Aquarian SN shows a need for us to use past ideals and visions to develop ourselves and to act independently on our own behalves in the here and now. (Enter Occupy Wall Street and Move To Amend!)

As you know, America's birthday was promoted by our founding fathers as 'July 4, 1776' even though few signatures were affixed upon the Declaration of Independence on that date. One assumes participants had to consider protecting their own hides from British arrest, after all! And I guess that the other signers of the DoI on August 2, 1776 pretty much tidied things up. Typical to our nature in 2012, what we now honor as our "Freedom Documents" were not universally admired in Philadelphia or in the country at the time though it's easy to forget that now through the rosy glow cast upon our nation's founding through decades past...America was founded upon "an Ideal", "an Idea", or "a vision", as they say.

A 'shining city on a hill' with a global 'mission', that's us.

Here Come Saturn, Uranus, and Plato

Naturally, for astrologers the American Ideal can bring up the planetary duo of Saturn (form) and Uranus (Ideal) and Plato's Ideal Form upon which America was founded--Uranian genius needs a container (Saturn) or it will never manifest in the world and may spill to the ground. Happily, on July 4, 1776, Saturn and Uranus were in beneficial trine (120 degr) to one another from Gemini to Libra, mental Air signs, which describes an ease of pouring by the founders!

A Saturn/Uranus trine tends to project into the future with an excitement about accomplishments and prospects of all tomorrows; a lack of arrogance is shown, and sharing resources, knowledge, and lessons learned from experience are seen to be of benefit to future generations. Measured risks are preferred to iffy speculations, and ideals are based on solid foundations; optimism about the future and high values and ethical standards are upheld (paraphrasing Rob Pelletier.)

And so our Uranian mission in the New World to establish an 'experiment' of an ideal society where brotherhood, equality, liberty, independence, and all other noble ideals of The Enlightenment are held high--'of-by-for' The People--makes me interested in how a horoscope for America's founding would look if the Moon--We the People--were placed at the chart's highest point: the WHY?, or Goal/Aspiration Point of any chart, the Midheaven (MC) which is the most visible and public spot in any horoscope.

Before we do this, I'll use a handy feature in my SolarFire software that animates a horoscope as if it's a clock so that all planets rise, culminate, set, conjunct Angles--however they will on a certain date of a 24-hour period. This gives us a range of degrees for each planet though of course many of them change positions very little if at all.

Not so, the fast-sailing Moon...

The range of the Moon's degrees on July 4, 1776 Philadelphia, PA along with the first and last Sabian Symbols which relate directly to the American people's reigning needs of our Aquarian Moon are:

Government Of-By-For We the People...really?

An interesting horoscope forms with Moon at MC (18AQ21) if we wish to consider a natal chart for Government of-by-for We The People. On July 4, 1776, Luna reached MC in Philadelphia (according to my Astrology software which may be off a bit due to earthquakes, Moon wobbles, two centuries passing, etc) but it's tallying in for Moon conj MC at 2:33:45 am LMT, with ASC 12Gem22 and a rising Uranus (8Gem53), America's totem planet of freedom, revolution, and such, so it's an ability to cope with anything picture when Uranus rises (as FDR has natally.)

This puts the explosive Mars/Uranus duo rising at 2:42 am LMT on that date, so that it conjoined the Ascendant and created a mdpt picture of its own: Mars/Uranus = ASC: upsetting events; arrest (as mentioned above); physical injury; excitable people; committing acts of violence. (Ebertin.)

The fact that Moon at MC occurs only after 2:00 am is a potential if the story of Thomas Jefferson lifting the first copy of the Declaration of Independence from Dunlap's printing press at such a late hour is true. Well, copies had to be made at some point for the public and for a public reading--they didn't just appear on paper as if by magic!

A difficult Fist of God pattern between our national Sun/Saturn square (within orb all that day) pointing toward the very Moon of which we speak--indicates that We the People have a sacred duty to perform which includes difficult, complex energies. Have we performed them before? Of course, but as with History repeating and similar societal issues continuing to come up again and again for resolution, our duty remains in 2012 if we wish to participate in this, our democratic, high-minded 'experiment' of republicanism, which we still like to call, America.

Mars Returns for Presidents, Too

Saturday January 14, 2012, marked the first of three returns of transiting Mars to President Obama's natal Mars position 22Virgo35, a 'three-fer' Mars Return for the president, the effects of which will last for the 2-year cycle (orbit) of the warring planet of action, aggression, quarrels, and desire nature.

When Mars returns to natal position, a rush of energy returns to the native and a new cycle of activity begins as the natal condition of Mars is emphasized. Hopefully, an injection of Martian testosterone will not be sent hurling bwo missiles or bombs from the Pentagon or White House toward other nations.

With Mr. Obama ('BHO') having Mars veiled by America's natal Neptune 22Vir25, we may expect the 'rock star' vibes of Mars/Neptune to be in evidence on some level even while the combo's disappointment and disillusionment influences continue to bedevil a Democratic presidency under siege from a GOP that, as usual, believes that only one of its minions is suitable to steer the White White helm.

The stand-off between Venus and Mars--possibly karmic since both are at 22 degrees--shows awareness of relationship issues with much potential for financial disagreements, plus, tax policy issues may be in the forefront including the misguided payroll tax cuts that undermine our Social Security Insurance program every time they're allowed.

Actually, BHO's Mars Return oo February 1, 2012 is key for the president (and thus for America) because, using the Moon as a timer, Mr. Obama has a Lunar Return 3Gem21 a mere two hours after new Martian energy rushes in which gives a Moon/Mars signature to Mars Return #2. ('Moon/Mars' = enterprises begun with great vigor--Ebertin); Mars is Rx, Mars/Pluto rule 6th H of Military and Police; Sun 12AQ32 times BHO's 'un-birthday'--Sun opposing natal Sun in Leo--so it's a primary date during the year when one's agenda should be re-assessed in relation to goals--and a course change should be implemented, if needed.

June 18 finds a more active Mars in the Return chart with three aspects to Mars' credit, two applying: sextile Mercury 19Can55 conjunct Fixed Star Castor in 12th H of Politics and Karma; Mars is posited in 3rd H conjunct 3rd cusp 20Vir53, and rules MC 22Ari52 (goals, aspirations = war?) and 5th H (Scorpio.)

Mercury @ 19Can55 recalls the 12 South Solar Eclipse 19Can24 of July 11, 2010 with its financial stress, delays in financial progress, and market fluctuations; this was a South Node eclipse so energy drained out rather than rushed in--though the capping of the BP-Deepwater Horizon blowout seemed to be taken care of 4 days after the eclipse. (Last I heard, BP oil is still leaking into the Gulf but other oil disasters and the Fukushima Meltdown have occurred since.)

Next applying aspect of Mars is a square with the Moon (We the People--4A22) with an 11th-house Moon 18Gem13 approaching the Sun 27Gem53 (12th H); a Moon/Mars square shows possible emotional outbursts, problems getting along with women, aggression, and resentment when anyone interferes with goals. Mother-in-law issues may be on the White House menu as well though even BHO's political enemies shouldn't wish that on him if they know how karma tends to come back atcha!

Also in BHO's June 18, 2012 Mars Return horoscope, Mars separates from a square with the Sun showing recent problems with or blockages from enemies (oil transport blocked at Hormuz by Iran?) and obstacles to action which can result in greater concentration on the forceful attainment of aims.

Neptune in Pisces = Pineal Gland concerns?

Neptune in Pisces, the Pineal Gland, and Our Dissolving Willpower

Since boundary-dissolving Neptune will soon dip its toe once again into the deep waters of Pisces (on or about February 3, 2012) for a long-winded swim (until 2024/25), the planet's astrological association with the human body's light-affected pineal gland ('third eye'/intuitive function) seems due for quite a bit of attention since we will be affected on a global scale.

An increase of environmental issues and damages to lose sleep over may be noted as our brains' melatonin production lowers and may need a *supplemental boost.

Studies show calcification in the pineal gland from use of fluoridated water as noted in Fluoride: Calcifier of the Soul, an interesting title considering Neptune's link to spirituality and The Divine Source, as denoted in Astrology.

Recent travels of Chiron (the Wounded Healer; the Wound) in tandem with transiting Neptune brought us the earthquake/tsunami in Japan and the Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown in 2011 with radiation continuing in 2012 to leak into the Pacific Ocean, the realm of Neptune. Thus the boundaries of our DNA are weakened and breached on a cellular level, and environmental issues become more confusing yet more critical for all of mankind.

Of course, calcification is a Saturnian process, a hardening, and the blend of Saturn with Neptune indicates 'the chronic and unhampered progress of malady, organic decomposition, undermining circumstances that lead to illness', says Ebertin, along with 'poor, sick, depressed persons' and 'diseases with causes difficult to ascertain'. (The Combination of Stellar Influences.)

Along with the pineal gland, Ebertin also gives Neptune as representing the
solar plexus, the power and will chakra, and paralysis, and Neptune in Pisces as: reserve, an inclination to mysticism, reverie and artistic pursuits; the inner or psychic life open to external influences, pessimism, a craving for alcohol, nicotine, etc, pathological tendencies and inclinations'.

So though society's artistic creativity will flourish, it seems that many people's power and will may become weaker with Neptune in Pisces though perhaps knowing this may help us guard against much of the dissolution. Drugs, including alcohol, won't help matters, only increase the weakening effects upon The Collective of a Piscean Neptune and the secretive forces of destruction which beset us.

An increase in paranoia will be part of the Piscean Neptune picture as well.

And of course you're familiar with Neptune's link to poisons, toxins, and contagions with its 'urge to merge' tendency relating to the dissolving of Saturnian boundaries, as noted above.

Yes, We've Dreamed This Dream Before...

History repeats in similar if not exact ways so astrologers tend to look back to the last time a planet entered a sign to see past effects, and with Neptune to 00Pisces, that would be 1847--off and on from April 1847 to December 7, 1848 due to the gaseous planet's frequent retrogradation periods. (Neptune's cycle lasts approximately 164 years.) This historical info hints at what sort of trends and conditions to expect during the current planetary transit.

Neptunian Events 1847

Several events listed for 1847 have Neptunian flavors to them. One such is July 10 when Leverrier and Adams, the co-discoverers of Neptune, met for the first time at the home of John Herschel, son of William Herschel, discoverer of erratic Uranus (1781.)

The association of these men creates a time link between the planets of The Enlightenment, Uranus and Neptune, by way of human beings and their astronomical activities and encounters.

Then there's July 24, when Brigham Young and his Mormon followers schlepped into the Salt Lake City, Utah area with Neptune as a spiritual indicator and significator of bodies of water--this one full of Saturnian salts!

Neptunian Events 1848

Plus, some events of 1848 resonate closely with our Neptunian topics as well: James Knox Polk became the first president in office to be photographed, one of Neptune's filmy, glamorous roles (the 'silver screen'; the arts; illusion.)

On February 26, 1848, Marx and Engels (with the backing of --?--) published the Communist Manifesto, a grand bit of Neptunian propaganda with its Saturn/Neptune 'Communism' element (Saturn = government and control, Neptune = invisible, or secret--things We the People know a little about in the US with both planets elevated in our nation's July 4, 1776 horoscope set for 5:10 pm LMT Philadelphia, PA.)

Another example occurred on May 29, 1848 when the flow of Niagara Falls ceased for 30 hours because of an ice jam which describes cold Saturn's crystallization (hardening) process acting upon a liquid (Neptune.)

Then on May 30, 1848, children could rejoice over the patenting of the ice cream freezer by William G. Young--yummy liquids hardened into flavorful, cooling treats.

But perhaps one of the more ironic events of 1848 occurred on June 26 when the first pure food law was passed in the United States. That its laudable attempts at protecting the American people have been adulterated through the decades making 'food and drug safety' in the US debatable (if it exists at all) is a Neptunian disappointment of toxic proportions and we are certain to hear more revelations of poisonings by the food, agricultural, nuclear, chemical, and other industries as Neptune lumbers slowly through its own watery realm of Pisces.

Of course, there's also the well-known connection of astrological Pluto to nuclear power, control, and waste disposal--and pipelines-- but today's post is written in honor of Neptune making a tremendously important ingress into its own sign which will soon come to pass whether we're ready or not.

With 2012 Upon Us

Naturally, the projected construction (Saturn) of Canada's Keystone XL Pipeline comes to mind with its potentials for gas and chemical leaks and the controversial, chemically-infused fracking process which threatens US water sources if the pipeline is built. Neptune's use as A Veil for secrets is on tap along with its scandalous implications of Neptunian fraud, deceit, and neglectful policies that can easily lead to lousy maintenance conditions and even to sabotage.

My personal conclusion about these difficult issues is that anything we can do to boost our and our family members' immune systems should be on top of our 2012 agenda! And please note these cautions: be careful when participating in water sports and when traveling in, on, or over bodies of water for mysterious conditions may be present--and beware gas leaks and oily schemers...
