Damn! It’s been quiet ‘round these parts but don’t fret, Starship Amazing has been hard at work on new material! The goal from the start was to make this next project the best thing we’ve ever done. Hey! We’re playing a show this Saturday here in Anchorage at the Tap Root! Animal Sounds Productions is presenting a “Post Apocalyptic Dance Party”! Join us on December 22nd and throw your middle-fingers in the face of doomsday predictors and celebrate the continuation of life as we know it!

The whole thing kicks of at 9PM We’ll be playing with fellow cool dudes SJ and Drums, The Modern Savage, and Alex The Lion! It’ll cost $10 if you get tickets in advance, or $12 at the door.

Thomas Schremp, a dude of the hugest order, has slaved and toiled and he has produced the first of six volumes chronicling the best of the now defunct Podcast Amazing. My man put in a ton of work, and we love the feature-length result. You can read about his process for assembling this beast here.

Thomas is rad is plenty of other ways, too. He does rad drawings here (sometimes of us), and he also has a personal Tumblr and Twitter. Dude is rad, get on his level.

Here’s a cool thing: For a while now, we’ve kept our older releases cordoned off on our website, under the “Old Junk” heading, mostly because we were ashamed. Well, a dedicated fan named Roberto Benuelos (aka Mariko Okuri) sifted through our aged flotsam and assembled The Forgotten Legacy, which collects the best of our younger days. He even made cool cover art featuring the old-style rocket-and-headphones logo. Check it out!

As the video says, this Saturday (April 28th) at 3:00 PM Pacific we’re going to be doing a live stream listening party of our two recent EPs, Ya’ll Stop Bloggin’ and A Man Who Made A Choice. We’ll be offering insight into the creation of the songs and taking questions from people in the chat, along with just generally being dumb and hanging out. It’s gonna be pretty cool, and it’s all going down right here. If you can’t make it, don’t worry, we’ll be recording it and hope to have it up fairly soon after the fact.

So, as we mentioned on it’s last episode, there will be no more Podcast Amazing. But that’s alright, because we just posted the first episode of our new podcast with Seth Boyer, Nothing Matters! Check it out!

This is probably the only time we post about it as Starship Amazing, so make sure you go to the website, and find a way to keep track of it.

One last note: We WON’T be answering SA-specific questions on the new podcast, but we WILL be keeping up with the Formspring, so if you have anything band-related you want to ask us, do it there. Calvin also has his own Tumblr it you wanna ask about anime. I guess you could bug Derek on Twitter if you had a video game question.

So, have you’ve heard about our first three albums, right? We put them out 2 years and a day ago. That’s crazy! Time flies!

They’re pretty fresh, but they cost money, and there’s three of them, which can be tough for new fans to get into. We have responded to this by putting together The Robot Trilogy, a totally free compilation of what we think are the best songs from Scoops the Robot, An Apocalypse In Binary: The Memoirs of Gearhart Deckrion and the collection of B-sides from the previous two, Broken Robots. It’s totally free, which is significantly cheaper than the $15 required to purchase the three full releases.

So, if you’re new to Starship Amazing or you don’t have those albums yet, then get this! If you like what you hear, them maybe think about buying an album! Easy as that!
