Theodore Wirth was instrumental in developing the Minneapolis Park system. He wanted to ensure that every child within the City of Minneapolis was no more than six blocks from a park.

In this composition, Wirth is surrounded by five children representing the diverse populations of Minneapolis and illustrating Wirth’s role in designing parks to be inviting to children. This work stands in Theodore Wirth Park in the southwestern corner of Minneapolis.

Antoinette and James are the names of the two children that straddle Penn Avenue in the Harrison Neighborhood of North Minneapolis, Antoinette on the east side and James on the west side. Both bronze sculptures sit atop of multicolored pedestal of drawings created by local children. This project is more commonly known as the Harrison Neighborhood Gateway.

These bronze sculptures sit atop pedestals comprised of drawings done by local children. This project was completed by Jane Frees-Kluth and installed at the current location in 1994.
