One of the biggest arguments in society for years is the issue of the double standards placed between men and women. There are so many different double standards and my brother Trey even touched briefly on a few. This post is talking specifically about the double edge sword that involves sex for men and for women. Most women will ask "why when a guy gets a lot of girls he's a pimp, but when a girl does the same thing she's a hoe?" I saw a picture floating around the web the other day with a simple proverb that explained why in a nutshell. "A key that can open any lock is a master key but a lock that can be opened by any key is useless". However, of course some of you irrational delusional few need it broken down and spoon fed. So ladies and gentleman here I am to fully explain why.

One of the main reasons why women are upset with and don't get this "double standard" is because a lot (not all but a lot) of women don't play video games. Now before you call me sexist and block me out, bear with me please. In video games there's a little feature called a handicap and no, this doesn't mean someone in the game is disabled. This is an adjustment made in the game where when one party has a clear advantage and the settings are fixed so that the game is fairer. For example, letting someone start with more points or making someone more powerful are some different handicaps to name a few.

Ladies, your handicap is Men. Let's face it; men as an overall whole are easy. It really doesn't take much to get us when you're talking about relations. You don't believe me? Stop and pull out your phone and scroll through your contacts. Every girl has at least 5 guys in her phone that she's never had sex with or “talked” to but if they propositioned a "No strings attached and go back to normal" one time deal, would be down for the cause. No work needed, just a simple offer. To be honest; five is even too low of a number for your average girl. That’s really for the ugliest of the uglies. They’ll get a “You sure no one is going to know?” response but still get an okay. Someone is giving it to the ugly girls. You can check your Facebook feed and see pregnant pictures to verify that; but I digress. So, in reality it’s really a lot more for you regular girls and even more for you chicks who are labeled as bad. Go ahead ladies give it a try. I’ll wait.

Got your 5 and you're not even at Darren yet? Cool. Now on the other hand, fellas we know we can’t do this. Yes, we can offer that proposition but without putting in some type of work, even if it’s just spending some time conversing, we aren't getting a simple yes. That's unless she really is a hoe. And unless you're rich or famous you’ll get labeled as a thirsty lurk although the effort is courageous and admirable.

Getting sex is like finding a job. Trust me on this I’ve worked for a company that helps people find jobs. They say a hiring manager takes about 30 seconds to view your resume and decide if they would want you. The same thing goes for girls. It takes about 2 minutes of meeting you, for a girl to decide if she would have sex with you. This doesn’t mean she will give it up right then and there. She has to see if you really live up to her impression of you but in her mind she’s already decided that you would be a good candidate to service her wants. So guys, after the first 2 minutes it’s no longer about what you do to get some cheeks. Nope, it’s about what you do to get out of some cheeks. So you really just have to not mess up and take advantage when you can but can't be too eager.

Let’s look at this example. Ladies you have a guy and after meeting him you think to yourself “You know what, he can get it”. Let’s say that he’s average. He’s not drop your panties fine but he’s handsome. Also, let’s take money out of the picture because that does play a factor. So he’s not a bum; his money is average. You've decided you would do it to him but of course you're going to wait a little. As time goes on, you find things that turn you off slightly. Now for the sake of specifically addressing the “why am I a hoe for doing what he does” let’s put time as in one night. Now for all you “I don’t put out on the first night” and 30 dayers, this is all hypothetically. Come on, think like a man but you’re still acting like a lady. You say to yourself if he does well he’ll get the goods tonight. Nothing hoeish, you’re just going to be free and give it to him because you’ve thought about it and want to, this time around. Throughout the night you realized he's not as entertaining as you thought he was. Strike one, but it’s nothing serious at all. He’s still handsome, cool and what not and you’re still going to give it to him. He's not the brightest bulb in room. He's not retarded but some common sense isn't very common with him. Strike two. And finally let's put he's comes off a little too arrogant too soon. Once again nothing serious to turn you off from the jump but it’s enough. Now after those three things, most if not all of you will decide that you’re not going to give it to him that night. We aren’t going to discuss tomorrow or next week or if he just falls into the friend zone but for tonight its game over.

Now since we’re talking about double standards let take the exact same situation and flip the script. Fellas, she’s not “Impregnate her right now” bad but she's cute. We’ll also take money out of the picture. She’s got her own and isn’t a gold digger. Now she's not entertaining, not the smartest, and is a little too full of herself. Would yo[Hell yea]u still give it to her? Yes. Now that hell yea was placed awkwardly because that’s about when most men answered my question. Why? Because of the handicap! Ladies, you're playing this game on Easy and with most video games on easy, you get 5 lives. This means you still have 2 more things to do before a guy is going to say "You know what, I’m not really seeing this happen". On the other hand, guys are playing the same exact game but we've been playing on Hard and only had 3 lives. Where the game would be over for us, you ladies still have 2 lives left. Wait a minute, she has a fat ass/big titties *Extra Life* 3 lives left. A man has lot less leeway to slip up. When you don’t put into account any handicap, you’ll look at the exact same situation and see where a man has failed; a woman can still go and achieve her goal. Is that really fair?

Scoring 100 points on Rookie and scoring 100 on Hall of Fame are two different things. If you don't believe me, try it. It's hard right? So now you can understand why someone who's playing at a difficult level where almost every point is earned isn't going to respect your stats that were achieved essentially with little difficulty. It’s not about you wanting to be freer with your body that gets you judged. It’s how you obtain this that is the case. A guy who has 50 bodies has at least 40 bodies he worked for. Sure a few may have been freebies, a drunken good night or whatever but most of them were earned. A chick that has 50 bodies has at least 40 dudes who "worked" for her. Of course, these are all averages and common numbers. We know that every specific case is different. There are a lot of factors that come into place when deciding you wants to mess with someone such as looks, personality, finances, background and just your own personal preferences. These can affect whether a man or woman is “playing” on easy, medium, or hard. Or going back to the 2K analogy, it can affect whether either gender is on rookie, pro, all-star, superstar, or hall of fame. My examples are simplified versions so you don’t get confused in the logistics of it all.

Albert Einstein once said "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid". Now, he wasn't referring to these "double standards" but in a way it does apply. Standards and handicaps have to be placed to compensate for different levels. Now we can question the fairness to allow a group greater freedom but in reality, when you think about that quote is it fair to put us on the completely same level when it isn't the exact same level? Think about it. I’ll wait.

An Assessment of the Scandal at Penn State (Part Two)

How bad can something really be, when you know that it could have been so much worse?

After having time to digest the unprecedented sanctions levied upon the Penn State football program in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, it is hard to weep too loudly over the destruction that has struck Happy Valley. The fact of the matter is that the NCAA hit the Nittany Lions where it hurt, but being hit with a pistol is always better than being shot with one. Most people are aware that Penn State dodged the so-called death penalty, a total “cease and desist” of their football program, but not many people were privy to the original harshness of the penalties that were initially considered for the university. Penn State football is not only lucky to have a football team, they are lucky to have a football program. What we thought was a pistol being pointed at Penn State, was really a double barreled shotgun. This death penalty was set to be truly fatal.

ESPN was first to break the story (no surprise there) that revealed the process that the NCAA used to arrive at their decision on how to punish Penn State. It was reported that the initial thought was to completely demolish the Penn State football program. In 1987, the Southern Methodist University Mustangs (SMU) was the first team to ever be hit with the NCAA death penalty. The program shut down operations for an entire season and the majority of the players left the school. In 1988 the team resumed play. The situation at Penn State was slated to be much different. In lieu of the university’s unfathomable negligence, the NCAA had planned an even more brutal death knell. NCAA president Mark Emmert and his team of advisers had originally settled on a FOUR YEAR death penalty. This would have effectively made the football program non-existent. Not only would Penn State have lost their entire roster, but they also would have been forced to watch their entire football staff (coaches and support staff) leave the university. Penn State football was on its way to being a non entity for the entire incoming freshman class of 2012.

As it turns out, two things were able to save Penn State from complete obliteration; the university’s willingness to act swiftly in uncovering the depths of this scandal, and surprisingly, a man by the name of Joe Paterno. While Joe Pa may be a posthumous villainous character, one fact remains about his tenure at Penn State. In over 60 years atthe school, the football program had never received an NCAA violation while Paterno on the staff. The importance of this was monumental, since the NCAA’s rules clearly state that the death penalty is for repeat violators, a distinction that could not be applied to Penn State in any way. Except for a rogue authority figure in the athletic department using his status to prey on children, and a group of university officials who chose to harbor him like a refugee instead of exposing him like a criminal, Penn State was a “clean” program. Joe Paterno’s statue may have been removed from Beaver Stadium, but his pristine track record in the eyes of NCAA infractions committee over the course of six decades is probably the primary reason why there will be football at Penn State in 2012. Penn State fans probably still owe Joe Pa one more tip of the cap before they begin to pretend like he never existed (which is definitely going to happen by the way).

What happened instead was a simple long term crippling of the Penn State football program. The aforementioned metaphorical dialogue mentions pistols and shotguns. The actual sanctions resemble something similar to a sledgehammer to the knee. Is it painful? Yes. Gruesome? It is that as well. Still, Penn State will walk among college football’s again. This we know; and that wasn’t always the case. They are crippled, but are by no means paralyzed. There was no death penalty in Happy Valley, but a message was sent. The sanctions will go down as the second most severe penalty ever given by the NCAA, only surpassed by the death penalty that was given to SMU. Penn State’s punishment is multifaceted.

• The program was fined $60 million (this money will go towards the establishment of a center for victims of child abuse.

• The football program was stripped of all wins accumulated from 1998-2011 (112 wins in total). This means that Joe Paterno, college football’s all-time leader in coaching wins, officially sits in fifth place on the all-time list.

• Penn State has been banned from participating in both conference championship games and bowl games for the next four years.

• The program will be given a reduced number of football scholarships over the next four years.

• All football players currently at Penn State may transfer and play immediately at other schools (Penn State’s best player, running back Silas Redd, has already left the school along with nine others).

• The entire Penn State athletic department will operate on probation for the next five years.

Penn State should still be fairly competitive this year despite the sanctions. Paterno left a strong program that was anchored by outstanding leadership. Penn State linebacker Mike Mauti has become a hero in the aftermath of these sanctions, rallying the remaining Nittany Lions with a boldness and defiance that can only be directed back to Paterno and his leadership. Mauti is a potential All-American player, and the next linebacker to follow in Penn State’s “Linebacker U” tradition. The problem is that there will be no one to follow in Mauti’s footsteps. New head coach Bill O’Brien doesn’t have a leg to stand on recruiting anywhere in the country. Why would anyone go to Penn State? It’s the brontosaurus in the room that has caused so many people to ask if this penalty was actually worse than the death penalty. Only God knows who might be playing for Penn State in 2015. I know for certain that it won’t be anybody that Joe Pa would have looked twice at. Penn State is now competing for recruits with the likes of Temple, Ohio, and Toledo instead of the Michigan’s and Ohio State’s of the world. This is going to be ugly — trust me.

Penn State’s next course of action will be separating themselves from their past, and by “past” I mean Joe Paterno.

The man who was once synonymous with Penn State must now be placed at a safe distance. The program will start small, but impactful, announcing recently that for the first time in 46 years Penn State football jerseys will feature players’ names on the back of them. I actually saw this coming months ago. The idea of Penn State’s incredibly blank uniforms was just as much a part of Joe Pa’s mystique as his comically goofy glasses (or the fact that years ago, Paterno slowly started to morph into the Hunchback of Notre Dame and we simply never said anything). Penn State mentioned that the name’s are a show of respect to the players who decided to stay at Penn State, that their names needed to be recognized. As far as bullshit goes, you won’t find better quality than that spiel, but it’s bullshit nonetheless. The name’s on the jersey’s are just the first step towards removing any resemblance to Joe Pa’s years at the school. By 2015, the team will probably be wearing astronaut suits on the field (and they will of course be sponsored by Nike), but you can probably seriously expect Penn State to make a Nike Pro Combat debut in 2013.

With Paterno’s soul laid to rest in an eternal bout with his personal demons, and Jerry Sandusky well on his way to spending the rest of his life in prison, the healing can finally begin at Penn State. It may start with seeing names on uniforms or ribbons in support of child abuse (Penn State’s uniforms will feature on of these as well) However, let it be known that as always, the NCAA had the last laugh in Happy Valley. Penn State’s journey towards redemption begins on September 1st against the Ohio Bobcats of the lowly Mid-American Conference, and sadly Penn State may run out of their home tunnel as underdogs. The journey towards redemption will be long and hard, and it may not even be possible to achieve, but on September 1st the Nittany Lions will play football, and Happy Valley will be a place where people smile again.

The Braggin’

When things are going great between one man and his “her” she will brag about the situation to her friends. Talking about (read this in your head using the best ghetto girl voice filter);

“Her”: “oh he took me to this restaurant… The bill had to be over $200 dollars...”

Close Girlfriend: “and then…?”

“Her”: “He made me feel so special, took me home, walked me to the door… I had to kiss him, and girl he was such a great kisser…”

Close Girlfriend: “Wow... Sounds like a keeper girl...”

As far as things go. You’re in the winner’s zone right now. You just threw a touchdown pass cause the defense bit on the play action. Not only did you impress the jawn on the date, you impressed her friend simply because ole girl took it upon herself to brag about your success. Once your jawn gets the okay from a close girlfriend it’s a gift from God…

Let your pipe game speak for you (Pause)

This is another gift and positive of “Girl Talk”… Once you lay it down on shawty… “Position in legs the right way and make it feel like there is a freight train inside of her…” She is going to be talking that ish to her friends for a few weeks! You’re deep in the game now. Seems like nothing can go wrong here, if you’re feeling her, you can make it “official”. Not only did you take care of all her internal needs, you got her friends hooked on the IDEA of you as well. Your new “her” tells her friend who tells another friend who just talks too much and tells like 8 other friends… Once a girl’s friends approve of you, you’re in the clear as long as your her keeps braggin ‘about how fake great you are.

BUT… your one mistake away bro

Some how, some way, when things are looking up… things can do a back flip and go downhill… You’re on the brink of maybe wifin’ this girl… Basically in easier terms for us men to understand, you’re on the one yard line, about to QB sneak in for the game winning touchdown but the defense gets a big stop. As soon as you start messing up even a little bit it will be noticed. Miss went from braggin’ about how great you are to telling her friends “he doesn’t call no more, we haven’t been on a date in weeks, he’s been hey booin chicks on twitter, liking pictures on the gram etc.” This is when things can take a terrible turn for you. Now her friends who fully supported you are saying;

Close Girlfriend 1: “The boy isn’t *insert explicative* you don’t deserve that girl”

Close Girlfriend 2: “Girl, don’t stress that boy… Let’s go to the club and find us all some real men”

Ex-Boyfriend: “I’m just saying, you could do better.”

Now you have lost all leverage. You have to fend for yourself and make sure you don’t lose your “her”.

Moral of the story is, keep up the hard work you do in the beginning… Cause once you fall off, people will get into the poor girls ear and may lead her away from you. Not only could you lose her, you could lose any possibility of speaking to any girl in the community ever again because she trashed your name to all her friends. Now she’s holding you hostage. Sad day.

An Assessment of the Scandal at Penn State (Part One)

Nearly a year ago, on October 29th 2011, Penn State was one of the biggest stories in college football. The Nittany Lions had just polished off the University of Illinois in a typically ugly Big Ten battle. Penn State prevailed 10-7 in front of over 100,000 screaming fans at their beloved Beaver Stadium. The unwavering support may have been what pushed the team over the top that week. Penn State was a curious case. Their defense was good, but not great. Their running game was really good, but still not great…and their passing game was downright awful. Still, after dispatching Illinois, the Nittany Lions were somehow sitting at the top of the Big Ten standings. The boys from Happy Valley were 8-1 for the season, and a perfect 5-0 in the conference. Two more wins in their next three games would have ensured them an improbable invitation to the conference’s first ever championship game. The leader of the team was an icon of sport, undoubtedly one of the best coaches in the history of the game. Only a coach as great as Joe Paterno could rally this average group of youngsters to such an inspiring start. Two days later, the Nittany Lions were tabbed as the #12 football team in the country, and a legitimate contender to play in the Rose Bowl.

When the team took the field two weeks later for their game against perennial power Nebraska, Joe Paterno, a staple of the university for over 60 years…had been unceremoniously fired.
The 100,000+ still filled Beaver Stadium, but their support that was usually reserved solely for their heros in navy blue had been lent to another group of young men…the dozens of men that had been sexually abused as children by former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Days after Penn State’s win over Illinois, Jerry Sandusky was arrested and charged with 40 criminal counts related to his systematic sexual abuse of young boys. Many of his then alleged crimes took place inside the confines of the Penn State football facility.

In the aftermath of Sandusky’s surprising arrest, Joe Paterno would lose his job after the world found out that stories of his former assistant’s improprieties had made their way to his desk. Joe knew something. We will never know how much or how little he was privy to, but without the aid of neither judge nor jury, it was clear that as long as Joe knew something…Joe had to go.

As a football fan, I struggled to accept this. Firing Joe Paterno carried more weight than the average whirl on the constantly turning coaching carousel. Paterno was an icon, a man that had been lionized for decades due to his insistence that at Penn State things were still done the right way. The man we called JoePa was a champion on the gridiron who also championed the existence of amateur idealism. Everything about Paterno’s portrayal of Penn State dripped with authenticity. Penn State players were true student athletes. They were good players and good men. The football stadium that Paterno made famous is even nicknamed “Happy Valley”, as if to reiterate that nothing could possibly go wrong at the sanctuary that is Penn State.
As it turns out, we were all wrong about Penn State. College football’s supposed refuge of high standards, turned out to be the sport’s sickest shop of horrors. What happened at Penn State is still unfathomable, but at some point we must begin to assess the wreckage that has been left behind.

As I continue, one person I refuse to dwell on is this story’s primary villain. I can’t bring myself to waste too many words condemning Jerry Sandusky. He is a monster, a predator, a rapist. He will spend the rest of his life in prison, and if he spends a day of his sentence in general population, his stay will be short. I wish death on no man, but the freedom of being a freelance journalist does allow me the opportunity to wish the fate of anal rape on any man I choose. Jerry Sandusky…I choose you. If there’s any justice in the world, someone will introduce you to the same feelings of terror and hopelessness that you inflicted upon so many children. As far as Sandusky goes, that’s all I got.

Though Jerry Sandusky has become one of the most dastardly figures in recent memory, the scandal that has permeated through the Penn State football program has very little to do with him. The actions of a rogue assistant are not enough to bring down the 7th most successful program in college football history. If Sandusky was the only wrongdoer, Penn State would be weakened by grief, but still structurally strong. Unfortunately, this saga’s cast of characters runs deep, and each implicated person brought us closer to the reality that we have arrived at now. The scandal at Penn State is not a rape case, it is the case of a cover up.
The first household name created by this unraveling tale was Mike McQueary. McQueary was a former player at Penn State, and a graduate assistant coach with the school when he witnessed an event that set this wheel of chaotic mismanagement in motion. McQueary was an eye witness to a Sandusky rape. After witnessing a sexual assault in the Penn State shower area, the young man alerted his superior of the incident. As you would expect, that man was Joe Paterno.

Of all the people involved in this situation, the man who draws the most ire from me is McQueary. I’d shake a rattlesnake before I would shake his hand. His response to the situation is an embodiment of selfishness and indifference. Of all the many men that have been ridiculed for their actions in the wake of this controversy, McQueary is the only credible known eye witness (there is a second eye witness, an elderly former janitor at PSU who unfortunately now suffers from dementia). The idea that McQueary, a former Big Ten football player in his physical apex did not even attempt to physically interrupt an elderly man raping a child is sickening. McQueary had the opportunity to stop a child from being raped. He chose not to. His fear of possibly losing his affiliation with the Penn State football program apparently overrode any thoughts of breaking up the interaction. A man who molests a child is considered a rapist, but a term has yet to be created with the proper amount of vile and disdain for a man who can watch a rape happen when he is capable of stopping it. When that moniker is created, it will be given to Mike McQueary. For now, I’ll settle on calling him a bitch, and that designation is too good for him.

I have words reserved for a certain trio of Penn State officials as well. Former President Graham Spanier, former vice president Gary Schultz, and currently suspended athletic director Tim Curley have shown themselves to be a triumvirate of administrative greed, dishonesty, and dishonor. The depth of the actual scandal begins with these men. The one thing that can be said about the likes of Mike McQueary and others implicated was that while they did not do enough…they at least did something. Starting with Spanier, a concerted effort was made to rid Penn State of Sandusky and his exploits under a cloak of secrecy and deceit. In terms of attempting to bring Sandusky to justice, these men did nothing. Not only did their plan fail, the lies that they used to conceal the truth complicated the situation to the extent that Schulz and Curley now face charges of perjury. Unsurprisingly, as the Sandusky arrest went public days after the Nittany Lions’ win over Illinois, Spanier was soon forced to resign from his position as president. Inexplicably, Tim Curley has not been fired. He is merely on administrative leave as he awaits his perjury trial. Schultz retired in the wake of the scandal’s surfacing (smart move). It saddens me because they have not been properly vilified for their lack of progressive action. Mike McQueary pushed this problem to Joe Paterno, Paterno pushed it to Curley, Curley pushed it to Schultz and finally Spanier. Once the university president was made aware of Sandusky’s actions, Penn State could have made the right decision and notified the police, and this scandal would instead be a tragedy. If Spanier used good and proper judgement, we would be focusing on the well-being of Sandusky’s victims, instead of the future of Joe Paterno’s recently removed statue. The salacious nature of this situation’s handling is the overwhelming theme of this story. Penn State was faced with one of the worst incidents in the history of college sports, and every move they made in response to it made the situation worse.

If there is a man of this lot that has been dealt an unfair hand, I look towards Joe Paterno. Many people in recent years asked how Penn State succeeded as a football program with an 85 year old coach that could only have limited interaction with his players. Paterno was never very vocal later in his career, and he coached his final games from a sky box to avoid freak injury. Penn State continued to succeed because Paterno mastered the art of delegation. Through decades of coaching, Paterno established a staff that he trusted unconditionally, and they carried out the mission of Penn State with a precision and exactness that made JoePa seem like a spry 60 year old on the sidelines.

When approached by Mike McQueary with claims of sexual abuse, Paterno did what he did on the field everyday. He delegated the job to someone better equipped to handle the situation. In hindsight, Spanier and his cronies were not the men that Joe Pa thought they were. Paterno’s mistake was a case of naivety, an ironic thing considering the man’s age. Paterno was spoiled by having his will implemented so effortlessly over the years. When it came time for Paterno to make a stand, he stuck his head in the sand, a choice more befitting of an ostrich than a mighty Nittany Lion. While I have no problem placing blame on Paterno, I can’t help to think that if Paterno’s superiors had done their jobs, Joe Paterno would still be the icon that he was after the Nittany Lions beat Illinois last October. I would go as far as to say that he would probably still be alive today. If the plot of this story was “McQueary told Joe Pa, Joe Pa told Spanier, Spanier called the cops,” the perception of Paterno becomes totally different without his actions changing at all.

Instead we must cope with the reality that Spanier chose not to contact the authorities, and Joe Paterno has become a fall guy. Once a symbol of sport’s purity and innocence, Paterno is now seen as a man who harbored a child molester for over a decade, and this is actually true in a partial respect. In times like these, when our country stands in a state of shock, we usually find a villain to rally around. Usually the person is easy to hate, and ideally is someone who can’t defend themselves, but the person is always a recognizable figure. Enter the legacy of Joe Paterno. With scandals like the one at Penn State, imagery is very important to the healing process. We attach the destruction of something tangible with healing and accomplishment. This is why the Berlin Wall had to come down; it is why the removal of Saddam’s statue marked the end of his tyranny in Iraq. The dismantling of Joe Paterno has been America’s outlet. It has been an expression of pain and confusion by the masses. So many people believed in Penn State that it makes it even harder to believe that one of our great bastions of integrity has been tainted with a permanent stain. Even as this investigation dominates national news cycles, the faces of Sandusky, McQueary, Spanier, and their ilk remain anonymous. If Jerry Sandusky joined you for coffee at a Manhattan Starbucks, you would probably leave impressed by his charm. I doubt the average person can associate the name of serial sexual predator Jerry Sandusky with his face. For this reason, we just can’t hate him as much as we’d like. Familiarity breeds hatred like nothing else in life, and Sandusky is just too knew to us. Paterno on the other hand is different. He is one of the most recognized men in sports. Most importantly, Paterno can’t defend himself. As I alluded to earlier, the coach died less than three months after he left Penn State. He has since become the person that it is most convenient to hate in this saga, and at some point this misappropriation of anger needs to end.
Joe Paterno is not a child molester. He is a football coach that put his fate in the hands of the wrong men when he could have done what he had to do himself. I feel sorry for Joe Paterno. He has a role in this situation, but at this point he is being played out of position.

In response to the “Freeh Report” on the Penn State football program, the school’s board of trustees recently removed a statue of Joe Paterno from outside of Beaver Stadium. It didn’t seem right to keep the statue there amidst such controversy, especially when vigilant threats were being made to destroy it. However it seemed like a fitting end. The statue was the tangible end of an era. Joe Pa’s mystique was ripped away as his 900 pound likeness was carted into the sunset. Days before the statue met it’s fate, a card laid at the feet of Paterno’s likeness. It simply said, “He was a man, not a god.” In a society that is fueled by hero worship and popularity, Paterno proved to be neither godly enough nor manly enough to save Penn State. The realization makes him seem so ordinary that it makes you wonder why he even had a statue in the first place. Penn State has proven that here is a copious amount of stupidity in immortalizing a morta, but I believe they have learned their lesson…at the costly expense of tragedy and scandal.

Why Are You Single?

Now how many times a day you see “I wish I had a him?”, “Men aint shit” “Im a bad chick looking for my king” or the most famous “Why Am I Single” fb statuses/tweets. Well pappy is here to help my lost females out there in world. This isn’t to bash but more so to bring light to somethings you may have never noticed. I'm also not saying men are perfect, trust im going to get on the fellas soon too. But if some of these apply its probably something you need to check in the near future. LET PAPPY COOK!

Carfax: Totaled

In today’s society being promiscuous is justified and it’s the cool thing to do nowadays. Sad to ladies your carfax may be the main reason u haven’t snagged the guy of your dreams. No man wants a woman who’s slept around. Its his queen, someone who he’s going to be seen kissing in the mouth and holding hands with. No one wants a woman who carfax comes back longer than Lebrons forehead. Its quiet. Yes ladies it may seem fun now but when you’re ready to settle not too many men are willing to take you serious but for some odd reason I’m sure you know this. Now this is a double standard which may seem unfair but lets go into this a little more. Would you want to invest so much financially in a woman whos been around and some men haven’t had to do what he’s had to do to get in the draws? Im pretty sure most women would put up an argument still but deep down, you understand. Be A Lady.

Are You Too Available?

Yes there is a such thing. Some ladies just seem so desperate. There's nothing wrong with being available but there is something wrong with being TOO available. Every other tweet is "I need a man". It's just said and scary. These are the women who are usually the clingiest women ever and thats just not attractive. These types of womenn also tend to like her BF because he's her BF not be cause he's a great guy. Its the same as being used for sex as a woman. We dont want to be your play toy BF for the time being. We want to be the man you appreciate ladies. So yes ladies these are things we take into consideration and pay attention to. Bet you never knew we analyzed it that much huh!

Image is Everything

With the rise of social networks came the demise of discretion. At anytime of day a woman will be online saying how “lusty” she is or how her “Pum Pum is the Greatest”, sitting on faces, and other over the top sexual references. Women are also posting these thirst trap half naked pictures for attention and its just gotten sad. The picture of your areolas talking about “Studying” has just gotten desperate and corny. Sure its entertaining but it makes most men take you for exactly that “Sex” and most wont take you seriously. Which why most of these women get approached with the infamous “Oh” tweet which really means I Want Parts or the occasional lurk in the DMs talmbout “Lemme take care of that for you then”. A lot of the times its insecurity on a females part and they feel sex is the only way to get a mans attention. But you’ve been sadly mistaken. Your image is all you have and you don’t want to give off the wrong vibe “Not all attention is good attention” – Chuck Norris M Christ. Its nothing wrong with the occasional lusty tweet or showing off your body, you’re human, but making it a regularity and everyday thing raises eyebrows. Some of you may not care or say you can do what you want. Welp. This just might be why you’re still alone my dear.

Who Hurt You?

Nothing is more of a turn off than a bitter/hurt woman. Why? 9/10x he’s going to pay for all of those past mistakes she’s made. Only because she’s still bitter over her ex’s which means she’s honestly still not over them. Things like “All men are liars and dogs” drive men away. No man wants to go into a situation already at a disadvantage. Would you as a woman come into a relationship where a guy already has the mindset that all women are hoes mindset and applies that to you? No ma’am. A lot of times all this is, is insecurity and hurt hidden in aggression. Fix that.

Can You Shutup…Please?

There’s nothing in this world sexier than a woman with great conversation. A woman who can converse with you on topics from sports – politics. We love intellectual conversation as much as women do but a women who KNOWS she’s and intellectual and never shuts up is THEE WORST. Do you have to debate with us about everything? Sometimes its not even about conversation. Some women just don’t know when not to press a subject. Some don’t know the games on and its not time to ask a billion questions. Women who jump in when you’re talking about women and say “WELL GUYS TOO”. Mama its not your time SHUT UP! Ladies as much we love a woman who can converse, we love a women who also knows when to let us just be us. It’s a time and place for everything. Yes for even when you’re angry… Smh.

You Cant Be Serious

A lot of women have a lot of false rules based on popular opinions. An example being the 90 Day rule, excessive courting, and a males expenses. Most of you women are single because you just don’t know what works for you. Sure women come on these websites to brag and say they have men fly them out, spends thousands of dollars on them, and only date a man that has XYZ. Listen not all women are lucky and shallow enough to fall for these false beliefs. Why does a man need to have a car? Do you even have a car? Why does a guy need to make 50K a year and is only 23? Are you even making that much? It shouldn’t matter what’s popular belief. What you need is a man who you’re compatible with. You women miss out on good guys that want to give you all they have, but may not have the things you can brag about. Being comfortable with who you are and who you're dating regardless of public opinion is key. If you cant brag about your partners flaws and be okay with it, then you shouldnt be allowed to celebrate their strengths. Love isnt situational its unconditional. A lot of people in general havent grasped this concept yet which causes so much confusion. Check your priorities when choosing a partner, this may be your main issue.

This Chick is F****** Nuts!!

All women are crazy. FACT. But most women don’t know there’s a timing for the release of your crazy. You can’t start out as some crazy jawn. You cant be a month in pressing him about all of his moves and female friends. You cant be a month in and you’re clocking his timeline and pressing him about his tweets or checking his cell phone. You can’t be a month in being over bearing with your emotions and being clingy. The key to this ladies is from jump you need to show youre valuable enough to put up with your crazy. If you show you’re craziness too soon he’s going to run and run far because he doesn’t see a benefit. Once again it’s a time and place. Show how much of a great woman you are, then also show him even though you’re a good woman he still can be killed at any moment. Its sexy. We like that.

Is It You?

A lot of your problems come from a lack of self reflection. Some women jump from relationship to relationship and make the same exact mistakes. This is only because they didn’t take the time to learn about themselves and have the fear of being alone. Problems come from somewhere and honestly it may be you and you don’t even know it. Once again post wasn’t to bash women at all this was to get who are in denial about being the issue, to inadvertently begin to question or rethink your approach. If guys are doing you wrong you need to ask yourself “What is it about me that makes them feel like this is ok?” “What about me says that I’m good enough to have sex with but to not get cuffed”. A lot of times these topics may be that main reason. No one is perfect, everyone has flaws, the key is finding yours and fixing them.

And if none of this applies to you, you probably have deeper personal issues bruh or YOURE JUST THE PERFECT WOMAN!.. OR nah.

Whats Good Folk!!!

Ive been gone letting my fellow bloggers getting their cook on! My man @THeRuler02 killed with his Ab Soul Review!! @NashhPao and @_lexilove had the scene on tilt with #EatYourPineapples. My boy @DaLifeOfGodfrey Debuted Yesterday with a very ill post on "The Decision" and how lebron changed the game of basketball. So I’m here to touch on a subject that I should have been touched on…. *drum roll* Double Standards!

Double Standards are defined as: A rule or principle that is unfairly applied in different ways to different people or groups. And I bet some women are reading this like “OMG what can men have double standards on? We have it way harder than them”. So I'm going to shed some light on the main double standards men and women encounter and then tackle the most prevalent that affect our culture.

Men: Providing

When it comes to finances in life men are known to be providers. Either it be for family or just your woman in general. We are the ones who have to invest financially in a relationship before a woman ever spends a dime. Women get to do the fake reach for the wallet to act like she was going to pay. Men have to provide the liquor for parties, women just show up smiling. Men are bashed frequently for how much they're making or if they cant afford certain things. Meanwhile its okay for a woman to be broke and its barely even touched upon. Don't let a woman make more than her man either. Not all but some women will even look at him as less of a man because of this. It’s plenty of more examples but I’m sure you get the point.

Women: Toughness in the Workplace:

A tough male in the workplace is known as a hard worker. He’s also known as a no nonsense type and all about his business and praised for his actions. On the other hand women are looked upon as abrasive, taking their jobs too seriously, and even called “Bitches”. Which is honestly all truth. We've all had that "Bitchy" boss and maybe deep down it was just because she was a woman. To take it even further a female with the same position as her male counterpart will make considerably less. Is this fair? No. I'm just shedding some light on these double standards that do exist.

Men: Sexual Harassment

If a Male tells a woman she looks good or she’s sexy a lot of the time he’s labeled a creep and can go to jail. A woman can come up to you and say the wildest things but it’s looked at okay. NO ITS STILL SEXUAL HARASSMENT!! Especially if you’re ugly, no offense. If a chick tells you no you have to stop, but as a man there’s no such thing as no. It’s give up the beef or die! THAT'S RAPE BRUH!!!

Now onto the meat and potatoes!!! These are the main double standards that exist in today's society. These create the most debates and effects our everyday lives and decision making. LET PAPPY COOK!

Women: Sex

When it comes to sex women are supposed to be very reserved and picky. As opposed to men who can have sex with many women and get called "The Man" or "Peeyumps". Some women claim that this double standard is unfair and women should be able to sleep with whomever they want and not get judged just like men do. But here's why: Women are known to be the bearer of children while the men are providers, while the women remain the glue to a family. Believe it or not women are the head of the household regardless how much the male brings home. When your parents argue, who sleeps on the couch? EXACTLY. Who wants the bearer of their children to have a tainted vagina? Who wants the strength and backbone of their family to have had trains ran on her, TOO many sex partners, or get paid for sex? No man wants to cater to a woman's every need if she hasn't carried her self as such. Now this double standard may seem unfair but in the end, it is what it is. I don’t see the actual negativity in it besides the fact its glorified when it comes to men. Why is it a bad thing to have few sexual partners? Why is it a negative thing to have pride in having a vagina and making sure only the guys who are worth it are gifted with entrance into your temple? The thing with today is being a hoe is glorified and women don’t want to be judged just like these celebrities aren’t for giving up the vagina all willy nilly. Honestly at the end of the day you're not Amber Rose or Kim Kardashian. You're going to remain regular ass KiKiVaughnqueesha and Aquafinalajonah. You cant live by what you see on tv. Be a lady. Its nothing wrong with it.

Men: Emotions

When it comes to men we arent supposed to show emotion and be tough. We are called weak and soft while women are praised for being overly emotional and crying over stains on dresses that they cant get cleaned out by 5pm. Its life that’s just how it goes. As a male this stereotype is very detrimental to the male psyche and have a lot of these grown ass men confused. Why? Because since birth its instilled in us to deal with our emotions internally. That’s why a lot of these dudes revert to the "Sexing a lot of women defense mechanism" when hurt. We drown our sorrows in vagina. I'm not saying its okay, I'm just saying that’s how we deal with it. Its just hurt egos and trying to build our egos back up. Most men don’t know how or want to deal with emotions. Let me get a little deeper for you.

Most of you probably haven’t read my Love From A Mans Perspective Post so ill go into it a little here. Men are introduced to only one love when little "Unconditional Love" which is with our mothers so that’s the only love we know. That's the only emotion we are praised for and not judged for so we translate that to our "First Love" and we actually love her unconditionally like we are taught when it comes to mom dukes. 100% of the time that first love breaks our little punk ass hearts and we don’t know how to deal with it. Point blank period. Men love and love hard that’s all we know how to do and when hurt its game.. set.. blouses. While women can be a little in love or “not in love that much”. Now when it comes to men we love unconditionally and that’s that. Yes even cheaters. Its not that he don’t love you. He just loves vagina unconditionally too. LOLLL! Okay okay lemme stop playin. All in all you have a lot of internally bitter men out here, and you'll never know it until you're involved with them.

To sum this up Double Standards exist and are very much alive. Quite frankly they wont go anywhere as well. Especially if sacrifices arent made on both sides. As men we don’t complain about double standards that’s not even what this blog was about it was just stating the double standards that do exist to show what type of effect it has on our culture. Women on the other hand complain about the Sex double standard more than anything. Now its 2012 I’m all with scrapping this double standard but if that’s the case then you guys need to be shelling out 200$ for dates and paying all the bills while your man stays home and or makes less, which is always a reoccurring topic on social media. “The Decision” in Retrospect and the End of the Golden Era

I was born in Detroit, Michigan late in the summer of 1988. Months before I entered the world, the Detroit Pistons would lose the NBA title to the Los Angeles Lakers in an epic seven-game series. The pairing of these two teams wrote a script that Hollywood could never envision.

The Pistons entered the confrontation led by four future hall of fame players. Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, and the enigmatic Dennis Rodman were a big three if there ever was one, but Adrian Dantley may have been the best pure scorer on the team. The Pistons were that loaded. Dantley, a player that could score 30 points on any given night was simply the fourth best player on a team that some people believed were lucky to even be in the Finals. The Pistons finished the 1988 regular season sandwiched between the first-place Boston Celtics and the upstart Chicago Bulls. The team had been dubbed the Bad Boys, and they relied on highly skilled role players such as Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer to enforce their gritty style of basketball. The bench was anchored by Rodman, one of the best to ever fill the “sixth man” role. He was joined on the second unit by fellow bigs James Edwards and John Salley, giving the Bad Boys enough size to physically dominate any team in the league. Vinnie Johnson, a player known as the “Microwave” for his instantaneous scoring production, was the lone guard who saw time off of the bench. The Pistons played nine players that season. All of them had the talent to be starters, many of them had the talent to be stars, but there was no individuality amongst them. They were the Bad Boys, and that meant something. It was all that mattered.
The 1988 Lakers were everything the Pistons were not. While Detroit point guard Isiah Thomas led his team into every game ready for anything from tough defense to hand to hand combat, the Lakers were led by Earvin “Magic” Johnson, the smiling face of the NBA. For every elbow that the Pistons threw, Magic could answer with a behind the back pass that seemingly balanced every notion of Detroit’s brutish physicality with an aestheticism that could only come from LA. Magic was joined by a perfect supporting cast; a group of players that accented the beautiful way that he played the game. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy were the two future hall of fame players that teamed with Magic, but the talent on their roster ended much deeper down the bench. Mychal Thompson, a former number one overall draft pick, was the sixth man. Kurt Rambis, AC Green, Byron Scott, and Michael Cooper also played prominent roles on the team as well. The Lakers, despite having one less hall of fame player on their roster, were even more stacked than the Pistons. The team was legitimately ten men deep with players capable of being starters on a championship team; but there was no individuality amongst them. They were the Showtime Lakers, and that meant something. It was all that mattered.

I was born merely months after Isiah Thomas played the single greatest quarter in the history of the NBA Finals. Zeke exploded for 25 third quarter points in game six of the series, hobbling through the second half on a severely sprained ankle. There is an iconic image from that game that will stick with me forever. Thomas drives through the lane and scores. Upon landing on the bad ankle, he literally drops to his knees as he tries to will himself back down the court. The sweat from his brow will forever mask whether or not tears from the intense pain trickled down his face. It is the only performance that has ever rivaled Michael Jordan’s flu game. Zeke couldn’t walk, but somehow he could get to any spot on the floor that he wanted. He was scoring at will. He was imposing his will. I’ll never forget that footage. I fell in love with basketball through Isiah’s pain.

The Pistons were playing in the Great Western Forum, the Lakers’ home oasis in Inglewood, California. Though Detroit led the series 3-2, playing in LA left the team desperate to wrap up the title before they faced the uncertainty of a game seven road game. Thomas turned in the game of a lifetime, finishing with 43 points, but the Pistons lost the game by one. In game seven, Thomas could not duplicate his heroics, and the Lakers won the title by three points. Any Detroiter will tell you that the Bad Boys were an Isiah Thomas ankle sprain away from a three-peat. They won the title in ’89 and 1990. The 1988 Finals will always be the banner that’s supposed to be there; the one that got away.

The MVP of those 1988 Finals? You would have to look past the likes of Magic and Kareem, and remember that James Worthy was one of definitive players of his era. The man known as “Big Game James” was the Lakers’ difference maker throughout the series. His triple-double in game seven cemented his role as the catalyst for the Lakers’ final championship of the “Showtime” era. That’s what made the NBA what it was at that time period. Secondary players carried the ability to swing a series in one direction or the other. On a 1981 Celtics championship team that included the likes of legends such as Bird, Parish, Archibald, and McHale…the Finals MVP was a man named “Cornbread” (forward Cornbread Maxwell).

I watched that 1988 NBA Finals for the first time when I was four years old. My step-dad video taped every Detroit Pistons game from the beginning of the ’88 season until Michael Jordan’s Bulls dethroned them as back to back champs in 1991. I watched every game (in order), starting with game one of the ’88 Finals. The last NBA moment I ever watched on VHS was Joe Dumars sticking around to shake hands with the Chicago Bulls after the rest of the Bad Boys had already booked it for the locker room. My step-dad didn’t have the opportunity to stiff Jordan on a handshake. Instead, he stopped taping the games. It was his way of coping with the end of an era. As Detroiters, we all knew Isiah Thomas passed the torch when he passed on that congratulatory handshake. The message was simple. We’re the Bad Boys. That means something. We will be Bad Boys to the bitter end. Nevertheless, that was the end.

This is what basketball was once all about. It meant something.

In the Summer of 2010, Lebron James held the basketball universe in the palm of his hand as he dangled the answer to the question of where he would continue his already illustrious NBA career. After going through a courting process that more closely resembled reality TV rather than it did reality, in a nationally televised spectacle, Lebron James finally decided to join the Miami Heat. The decision aligned him with former NBA champion Dwyane Wade and recently acquired all-star forward Chris Bosh. When I heard for the first time that Lebron would be taking his talents to South Beach, I was disappointed. Later that night, in the privacy of my own bedroom, my emotional state went from disappointed to distraught. I may or may not have shed one singular tear. I’ll never admit if I did, but that night Lebron James took something away from me. He took it away from all of us.

Lebron James is without a doubt the most physically gifted athlete to ever play the game of basketball. A running joke between a friend and I suggests that Lebron isn’t even a real person. We’d like to believe that he’s a superhuman experiment that was created in a secret Gatorade-funded laboratory on a remote island off the coast of Cuba. This may seem farfetched, but it’s only slightly less plausible than the idea that the best basketball player since Michael Jordan was born in Akron, Ohio.

One way or another, James has dominated the league since his debut, featuring a skill set that encompasses so many talents that his only fair comparison is to Dr. Frankenstein’s monster. It seems that Lebron James was built to play basketball, as if attributes were identified and then welded to his massive frame.
All of these factors made Lebron’s decision all the more shocking.

I have never been one of the delusional types that felt Lebron had enough talent around him to win a championship in Cleveland. The pu pu platter of veteran castoffs that the Cavaliers attempted to surround James with was putrid at best. I’ll always believe that the Cleveland front office’s hard sell of Antawn Jamison as being the missing piece to a championship roster was the insult that finally drove Lebron to South Beach. In all aspects of business and logic, Lebron’s decision made sense. It just didn’t make basketball sense.

Basketball sense is what kept so much talent on the elite rosters of the eighties. Players weren’t improving their skills to cash in on a mid level exception at the end of their contracts. They worked on their game knowing that it took nine to ten good players to win a championship in that golden era of professional basketball. There was an aspect of loyalty, and some semblance of camaraderie. That’s would made the game great.

Basketball sense would have kept Lebron in Cleveland. He could have continued to lobby for more talent while the organization built a fortress around him. James’ legacy would have been untouchable, and his first championship would have been a victory of epic proportion. Cleveland was Lebron’s chance at immortality. It was his only shot at being Jordan. He gave that away.

Basketball sense would have sent Lebron to New York. The Knicks recruited Lebron James harder than any one else in the history of free agency. At one point, it was rumored that the team was actually willing to throw in stock market shares in Madison Square Garden in order to make “King James” the King of New York (this isn’t even legal by the way). Lebron could have been the driving force that revived basketball in New York City, and brought a championship to what many consider to be the epicenter of the global basketball community.

Basketball sense would have sent Lebron to Chicago. They were the team with the most pieces already in place. They just needed one more player for them to rise to the ranks of the championship elite. How close would James be to Michael if he signed with the Bulls? I’d say his statue would have fit right in next to Jordan’s. Leading the resurgence of Jordan’s franchise would have forever linked him to a lineage of greatness. His career could have been defined by his willingness to overcome the shadow cast by the luminary that is his Airness. Lebron wasn’t interested in that either.

Lebron James chose to end the golden era of basketball. He decided to join the Heat.
Bird’s Celtics, Magic’s Lakers, Zeke’s Pistons, Jordan’s Bulls…there era ended in the summer of 2010.
Duncan’s Spurs, Kobe & Shaq’s Lakers, Hakeem’s Rockets…there era ended in the summer of 2010.
Lebron’s decision ushered in the era of the super team, and we as basketball fans don’t even seem to realize how unfortunate we are because of it.

By the way, let the record show that the 2011 Dallas Mavericks were the last “team” to win an NBA Championship. The concept of “team” has now been rendered moot.
Credit Lebron James for jail-breaking the system. After years of frustration with the ineptitude of the Cleveland front office, the crowned prince of the NBA decided to fast track himself to the throne. He did the unthinkable, and he joined forces with an already reigning king of the sport. It was a maneuver that made so much sense, and so little at the same time. Of course Bird and Magic would win the title every year if Magic went to Boston. As basketball fans of the golden era, we all knew that, but we also knew that that wasn’t going to happen. Larry Bird was placed on this earth to duel with Magic Johnson, and this is what kept the basketball universe in a state of continuum. Not even Dominique Wilkins considered the idea of joining a rivaling team, and his extremely talented Atlanta Hawks squads were not even in the same zip code of NBA title contention. Nique was a Hawk, just like Bird was a Celtic, Magic was a Laker, and Jordan was a Bull. Once again…that meant something.

Being a Cavalier didn’t mean anything to Lebron, and in many respects, I don’t blame him for the sentiment.
First off, let’s dismiss the idea that Cleveland was Lebron’s hometown team. James is from Akron, a city that rivals Cleveland in every aspect of life. James has even spoken about this publicly. Being from Akron is a designation that comes with an embedded chip for every shoulder. Akron will always look at Cleveland with a “why not us” attitude. It resembles an old WWF wrestling feud from the nineties. Cleveland has always been Ohio’s Bret Hart. Akron has always been Owen Hart; the little brother that preens for respect even though no one is really paying attention to him. There’s never been any room for mobility between the two perceptions either. It simply is what it is. The distance between the two cities may be closer, but comparing a kid from Cleveland to a kid from Akron is like comparing a kid from Los Angeles to a kid from Oakland. Lebron doesn’t have any love for Cleveland, he loves Akron. I love Detroit, I could care less about Flint. You can insert your own scenario based on your place of residence. To this day, Lebron returns to Akron as a conquering hero. In Cleveland, he is a demonized figure. His likeness still hangs in effigy at some places in the city.

It’s also worth noting that King James didn’t always receive the royal treatment in Cleveland. Cavs owner Dan Gilbert attempted to ride Lebron into the ground. He refused to spend money to build around him, knowing he would have to overpay to get a marquee player to come to a less than glamorous destination like Cleveland. The team drafted horribly, and was equally abysmal with their lack of creativity in the trade market. Lebron’s list of sidekicks in Cleveland is actually too depressing to list. It almost makes you think he deserved Wade and Bosh. Maybe he did pay his dues. The Cavaliers looked like a team that had a ceiling of being overwhelmed in the NBA Finals. That seemed to be were the organization would plateau every year.
As basketball purists, nurtured in the systematic history of the game, we all waited for the moment where Lebron would take the torch of greatness from a respected champion, and solidify himself in the often mentioned pantheon of his sport’s great players. Something similar to that happened this year in Miami. Lebron did usurp the power of Dwyane Wade and lead his team to a title. The only mild issue was that Wade was Lebron’s teammate.

Miami’s championship run was an eery bit of storytelling throughout the season. The Heat wandered through the regular season waywardly, showing glimpses of dominance, and flashes of weakness, but they eventually settled in as a top seed.

In the first round of the playoffs, they rolled over a Knicks team that was built to present a difficult series to them, but the loss of the Knicks top three frontcourt players left them in no position to compete.
In the second round, the Heat faced the Indiana Pacers. This is where the Heat began to defy the previous norms of basketball. Miami wasn’t the better team. From top to bottom, Indiana had talent and depth at every position. Miami took the floor with two, sometimes three or four, high performance players. The super team ideal was beginning to exert its full potential. We all thought the jig was up when Bosh went down with an injury and the Heat trailed Indy 2-1. Unfortunately for the Pacers, the Miami Heat still had the two best players on the court, and no one from Indiana was even close to matching their talent or ability. The “big two” proceeded to dismantle an entire playoff team in the next three games, and they did it impressively.
Enter the Boston Celtics next, a grizzled veteran team with a championship pedigree and the star power to combat the influence of Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. Once more it looked as if the Heat would finally fall short. After all, they weren’t a very good team. One of their key contributors off the bench was Mike Miller, a man who could barely walk on to the court before games due to debilitating back issues. They actually depended on that guy. Still, when the Heat trailed 3-2, and faced elimination on the road, the Heat confirmed my worst fears. The three best offensive players in that series suited up for Miami, only Boston’s Rajon Rondo could be looked at as being a better overall player than any of the Heat’s big three due to his defensive prowess. Still, Rondo could only provide spot defense on Dwyane Wade and Lebron James, and he couldn’t guard Chris Bosh at all. There was too much talent at the top, and the Heat dispatched the Celtics as well.
The last chance to end this madness was given to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This was the team that was built the old fashioned way. They sucked, they were average, and then they were good. They had two superstar players and a “Microwave” type player in James Harden. They were bigger inside, and defended every position at a high level. The Heat couldn’t possibly beat the Thunder. This was supposed to be the perfect storm that not even Miami could prepare for. After one game that seemed to be the case. The Thunder prevailed, and the idea of team over trio seemed to have won out…and then the Thunder never won again. As it turns out, Lebron James is a lot better than Kevin Durant, and while Russell Westbrook may be a stud in his own right, Dwyane Wade is still one of the top eight players in the NBA. The world seemingly forgot how talented Chris Bosh was as well. Bosh reminded the world that he is a perennial all-star and an Olympic gold-medalist. He played on a different stratosphere than Serge Ibaka. The Thunder’s biggest advantage was supposedly the secondary production of James Harden, but the new “Microwave” showed up for the series unplugged. Instead, the Heat used a mixed bag of role playing dominance from Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers, and Mike Miller to beat the Thunder in an impressive four straight games.

If it isn’t already clear as to how Miami’s championship run upsets the balance of the NBA, take a long look around the rest of the league. Now that the precedent of superstars forming factions in desirable markets has been set, the league has slipped into a state of awkward chaos.

The New Jersey Nets have now become the much more marketable Brooklyn Nets and have assembled a big three of their own, albeit a significantly less impressive rendition. Still the triumverate of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Gerald Wallace has given them a tinge of legitimacy.

The Atlanta Hawks gutted a solid young core of athletically gifted players to rebuild their team in a big three model. The Hawks may have been two players away from having a championship worthy team, but a fisherman will tell you that on the water it’s often easier to catch three big fish than it is to catch 10 small ones. Since the summer of 2010, the big fish have been biting. Atlanta is now setting up to cast their reel. In the meantime, I feel sorry for Hawks fans. That team is going to be tough to watch, especially if they succeed in trading Josh Smith. They’ve already dropped Marvin Williams and traded Joe Johnson in exchange for every bad player on the Nets roster.

The Dallas Mavericks dismantled a team that WON the 2011 NBA Championship piece by piece with hopes of luring Dwight Howard and homegrown Deron Williams into the fold. Teaming these two with Dirk Nowitzki was their design for a big three. So far they have struck out on both accords. They’ve settled for a consolation prize of Chris Kaman and OJ Mayo.

The LA Lakers possess two of the best five post players in the NBA in Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol, both players are comfortable in the organization and could easily be Lakers for the rest of their careers. The Lakers are actually considering trading one (possibly both) of these players for the clueless and equally myopic Dwight Howard, who may bolt from the organization at the end of this season. This is the madness that Lebron has created.

The Houston Rockets have essentially introduced cock-blocking into the NBA free agency period. Their absorbent offer sheets to backup center Omer Asik and former couch dweller Jeremy Lin have revolutionized small market logic. Instead of trying to compete with larger markets, it seems that teams like Houston are attempting to poke holes in contending rosters with kamikaze restricted offer sheets. Who knows where Jeremy Lin’s $14 million third year salary is going to explode. The important thing is that the bomb is out there…and it’s ticking. The Raptors were another team that played their best defense of the season during free agency. While the Knicks discussed sending Landry Fields to the Suns for Steve Nash (the Raptors primary free agency target), the Raptors nixed the deal by offering Fields a huge restricted free agent offer sheet, making him untradeable. The plan somewhat back fired, and the Raptors are stuck with an overpaid Fields and no Nash, but it was worth the risk to keep Raptors fans dreaming of Steve Nash in Toronto for one more week. For what it’s worth, If I owned the Raptors at this point in time, I would be devising a ponzi scheme to raise money for a new arena in downtown Seattle. I’d move the team out of Toronto during the NHL playoffs while no one is paying attention, and rename the team something catchy like say…the Supersonics. I have a feeling this would work.

The Toronto Raptors can’t compete in the super team era. They have come to grips with the fact that this is now their role in the league. The Raptors are the married guy who goes to the bar with his single friends, and tells women that his tall attractive friend (i.e. the Knicks) has herpes. He can’t win, and he doesn’t want anyone else to either. This is the new era of NBA basketball.

Let’s disregard the venom that has been spewed about “The Decision” and its subsequent hoopla. Though some may label it as a classless, ego-driven, and insensitive way of handling a business decision (it was indeed all of those things, in case you were wondering). The fact is that Lebron James was globally the most sought after free agent in the history of sports, and the television special made thousands of dollars for noble charitable causes. Lebron had every right to air his decision live on television. If millions of people want to know the answer to a question, answering the question on TV seems like a good way to get the word out. The entire world essentially found out at the same time. In retrospect, that seems fair. The emotions that I felt that night had nothing to do with the actual decision. They had everything to do with what the decision represented. Instead of Lebron taking the torch, he started a new fire.

It bothers me that there are no hard feelings in basketball anymore. The game is devoid of rivalries, hatred, and awkward moments. I thought that Boston and Miami was a rivalry, but then Ray Allen signed with the Heat last week. I thought that Phoenix and Los Angeles really hated each other, especially when Raja Bell told the Lakers he would never play with Kobe, but then Steve Nash asked to be traded there. There’s nothing more theatrical than a handshake between people that don’t like each other. Remember when every Kobe/Shaq handshake would be must see TV? This type of animosity once had a place in the NBA. Now everyone is invited to everybody’s backyard BBQ. Michael Jordan still hates Isiah Thomas to this day. Bill Laimbeer has been essentially blackballed out of NBA head coaching opportunities due to his bullying antics as a player. That was the emotion that added to the game. I could care less about the amount of yelling players do after converting a layup while being tapped on the arm.

This past June we finally witnessed the coronation of King James. The super team had been successful. The NBA as we knew it had been changed forever. It’s a hard pill to swallow in many respects. If I had the chance to look back through the taped NBA games that I injected and ejected into my old VCR like Disney movies, I would be forced to think about the super teams that we never saw. Could Dominique have gotten past Bird if he joined the Cavs when Nance and Daugherty dominated the paint, and Price and Ehlo shot the lights out from the outside? Could Barkley have been a champion if he played in Utah as the third option off of Stockton and Malone’s deadly pick and role? If the Knicks traded all of their defensive depth for one more all-star scorer, would Patrick Ewing have been a Champion too? Regardless of the answer to these questions, I will always refer to the golden age of basketball from 1981 until the summer of 2010, from Cornbread until South Beach.

No matter how long I watch basketball, my history with the game will always revert back to those VHS tapes that I started watching back in 1992. On those tapes, there was no such thing as business sense, not even common sense. There was only basketball sense. It was sport in it’s purest and most concentrated form. During the golden era, you were a part of a team, and that meant something. In 2012, the Miami Heat are NBA Champions. I just don’t know if that means anything.

Our throne. The bearer of life, and let's be honest, the best shii that’s ever happened to both men and women is the Vagina.

There are a lot more internal and external factors to having a clean, healthy, and tasty vagina than we think. Ever heard someone say, "eat your pineapples, it makes your vagina taste good?” That’s true but it’s only one factor for having a healthy vagina. We’re here to dig a little deeper and give you the facts on what it takes to maintain a healthy vagina from lemisol to kegals.

Water and Technicalities  

Naturally, our vagina along with our eyes, are self-cleaning organs (fun fact). In an ideal world where women eat healthy and organic, exercise daily and aren't soap crazy we would only need to rinse with water daily to walk around with edible veejays. However, that isn't our reality, many of us eat too much fast, processed, and chemically altered food for our well being nor do most of us have the time to work out. And let's be honest, even if none of those reasons are a factor we do not feel comfortable with water being enough to feel clean. Water is extremely essential, and in my perspective, the most important (and simple) health measure, not only for our love organ but our bodies in general, but I digress. If there is anything you take from this article it’s this - DRINK WATER! Water makes your juices flow oh so plentifully! Let's just say that if we all drank more water and cut down on soda and artificial juices, lube companies would go out of business!

Think of your vagina as a waterfall. That landscape of loveliness comes from a bigger body of water and that bigger body of water is YOUR daily water intake. No one wants sticky overly salty and dry love juices. So please, once you're done reading this, go get yourself a nice big glass of water, and raise it up in the air. One time for your treasured slippery passion throne!

Eat Your Pineapples

As you may now know, the health of your vagina begins on the inside. You can wipe, clean, wash, and spray but all of that doesn’t mean anything if you are not taking care of your health. Your pH is an important part for maintaining a healthy body, vagina included. So for shorthand purposes and my personal amusement, we’ll refer to this as your pussy pH. Okay, so maybe I won’t refer to it as such but you get the point. A balanced pH promotes a healthy vagina. If your pH is off, then the taste, smell, and feel of your vagina will be less than desirable. The easiest way to maintain a healthy pH balance is through diet. So let’s break this down.

There are acidic forming foods and alkaline forming foods. Some examples of alkaline forming foods include…dark leafy greens, apples, cantaloupes, lemons, limes, strawberries, watermelon, cranberries, almonds, ginger, yogurt, and pineapples. Acidifying foods include white flour, rice, butter, cheese, bacon, corn syrup, sugar, coffee, processed, junk, and fast foods.

A diet high in junk foods, processed foods, and fast food could mean a smellier and stickier vagina. This diet could also cause various vaginal infections including yeast infections. No one wants a sour vag right? At least I hope not! A more alkaline diet could help to prevent that.

Ideally, your diet should be 70/30 alkaline and acidic foods to maintain a balanced pH. Everyone has probably heard that pineapples make your juices sweet. Well, whoever said that wasn’t lying. Pineapples are an alkaline forming food helping to keep your veejay running well. Also, making sure to eat yogurts without high fructose corn syrup are known to help. If all else fails you can always pick up some Lactobacillus Acidophilus tablets from your nearest organic food market or health store. These tablets contain the live cultures found in yogurts and can supplement your balanced diet.

If you’re feeling extra lusty have your partner feed you some strawberries. Now, that’s a sexy way to keep that pussy pH balanced. So do yourself and your partner a favor and eat those fruits and veggies.

Get It Tight

What’s a good diet without exercise? Since we’re out here getting your juices flowing right, let’s get that vagina working right too. What exactly are we talking about?

Ladies, we’re talking about kegal exercises. Kegals work by contracting and releasing your pelvic floor muscles. Practicing your kegals strengthens and gives you control of those muscles. This isn’t radio music and it’s sad... This is pure knowledge rendered in rhymes and high level metaphors. Topics vary from relationships to social issues to political issues. This is the missing piece of the puzzle. 95% of rap music does not attempt to tackle some of these issues. I'll even argue that rap music today tends to run away from topics tackled by Ab-Souls' "Control System".

Disclaimer: I rarely listen to indie-style rap; shoutouts to @ISwearIAintHit for enlightening me about this brilliant piece of work.

This type of rap has disappeared. In fact, this type of mentality has disappeared. Long gone are the days when people invested in the future over instant gratification. From the start Ab-Soul warns the listener of the type of journey they are about to embark on. Pure unadulterated rap music talking about shit we are supposed to be discussing. "Don't be dethroned by these systems of control, just keep your fingers crossed and get them locks off your soul" Talking about ways we are supposed to be feeling and thinking.

He gives the listener apart of himself through storytelling, thought- provoking messages, and open discussion. It's almost like you are having a conversation about day to day things you discuss amongst your friends.

In 'Book of Soul' he discusses his love for a woman. How much he respects her, and although he has thoughts of offing himself to be with her, he would rather live up to a promise he made to her to be better. It's almost poetic, by the end of the song the listener wanted to hear more of the story (well I did). People rarely rap about these kinds of things.

He challenges you to think outside the box. It becomes even more interesting because his message is manifested in the type of music he presents and his view point on a variety of sociopolitical issues.

"Feed the people food for thought, cuz we all equal, who woulda thought…?”

A line where he sarcastically addresses how in most rap music, artists are almost afraid to enlighten their audience for fear of not being "mainstream" or "popular."

Ab-Soul acknowledges what the norm is “…the wanna see me wear polo draws, put on two chains on, and that ain't wrong, but that ain't me...” but maintains his position. That makes his music and style even more admirable.

This mixtape is dope because his underlying message, in my point of view, tells the audience never to be afraid to challenge the norm, align or assimilate.

"…what's ya life about, enlighten me. Is you gonna live on your knees or die on your feet…” -Track Two

He is challenging people to stand up for something. The kids today need this type of message. They need someone to sympathize with their situation, simultaneously showing them how to deal with real life. Much respect to Ab-Soul on his attempt of bringing the hip-hop culture back to where it belongs; as a positive influence. If you haven’t, go out and get "Control System" I endorse it!

Basically, in the skit the woman is looking for every possible reason to justify her one night stand when the one night standee is not even worrying about why she did what she did! Seems crazy right? But this is the dynamic between countless men and women and the basis of the 90 Day Rule. It is another way to feed in to the insecurities of women through a false sense of empowerment. In other words, this rule is a whole lot of bull! Now let Nash and Lexi break it down for ya…

There is No “Love Formula”

Granted, we do not live in a world where "The 90 day rule" is the end all be all. There are thousands of lost souls roaming around searching for the perfect "love formula." This is more complex than "I will apply the 90 day rule to my life." or “I'll completely dismiss it". We all want to know what we're doing wrong. Why something works for one person and not the other. Unfortunately, I'm sorry to break it to you but there is no universal rule to abide by that will guarantee eternal cuffage. There is more to it than a rule.

What Else Can You Bring to the Table?

The basis for our 90 Day argument is this: Is sex the only thing you have to offer him that would guarantee his stay? Hmm. Basically you’re saying: if you don't hold out on sex he is going to leave you because sex is the ONLY advantage he would get out of your presence in his life. Well, this is where we need to step back and analyze our own selves. What can I offer this man besides just my body? Yes, it is true that he wants to have sex. A man doesn’t look at you the first time and think "Wow! She must have a banging personality.” NO! And to be honest, we do it too even if we refuse to admit it. But it’s okay, we are sexual beings. Also, realistically, sex may be the only thing some men want but you shouldn’t fall victim to this either.

This is why I emphasize first taking that step back to analyze ourselves. Do you need a man to validate you as a woman or do you validate yourself?

Which brings us to the next important question!

90 Days and Some Change Later…Now What?

You could wait 90 days to have sex and after 90 days you're still waiting for the guy to make you his wife while you tweet about "HIM" everyday. Why? In reality you cannot force a man to see you as a potential wife if he never had those intentions with you. So you were waiting 90 days for what? To build up false hopes while your p*ssy was thirsting for some good peen?! Or do you feel satisfied that he doesn’t think you’re heaux because you waited 90 days? He probably done checked the car fax and became hip to your swindle…but I’m chilling though.

Adversely, you can feel each other out, at your own pace, and at a right moment of fire, let the electricity flow. In other words, if the chemistry is right, have sex! Sex is not ME; Sex is an ASPECT of me. It shouldn’t define us. As women we should never expect to tie a man down because of sex.

You Are More than Your Vagina

Do you know who you are? What you stand for and what you want? But most importantly, DO YOU TRUST YOUR JUDGEMENT? Men sniff the absence of this a mile away.

Yes, waiting 90 days could reassure him that respect yourself but what does that say about you? Do you really need a rule to tell you how to treat your mind and body? What happened to respecting your body and trusting your judgment regardless of how the man may feel? If you can’t trust yourselves to make decisions without some stupid rule you should not be out dating. You are unstable. Period. You see, the 90 Day Rule feeds in to the objectification of women by treating the p*ssy as a prize. You are more than what your vagina has to offer. You’re gaining a false sense of empowerment while devaluing yourself as a whole being. If you set the standard that your vagina is the goal then what other reason does he have to respect you? More importantly, what other reason do you have to respect yourself?

Now, Lexi and Nasha did not tell you to go out there and spread it low and spread it wide. But y’all don’t hear us though! We are NOT advising all women to go out there and dash out pooms. On the contraire…

It all comes down to our standards. What we need to do is demand respect from the beginning and be in touch with who we are so we can offer this man more than just a body to lay with. Notice the way he approaches you. That speaks volumes of your personal standards. If he's coming at you too strong you have a right to tell him to step back. Even the force or persistence he uses to have sex with you hints at his intentions and what YOU are willing to accept. SET BOUNDARIES. It all counts. These are the small details we do not realize men truly pick up on when determining if you're just -bust-a-nut-worthy or not. He will try to push you to see how much he can get away with. When it comes down to it, one of two things can happen; the relationship between the two will intensify or you two will part ways.

Ive been gone for a minute, but don’t worry im back for good with some big things in the works. First things first I’ve made some additions to the team. I sat down and thought wth is my blog missing? Its missing what most men are missing out there. A WOMANS TOUCH!! So I’ve added two of the most talented women I know as writers @_lexilove & NashhPao! Dating? What For?

Is Chivalry dead? If so who killed it? Is it ungrateful women? Is it men who don’t know how to treat women? Idk but I know exactly what killed the essence of courting. UNSTABLE CREATURES!!!

Nowadays you can log on to a social networking site and see a post like “He wanted to take me to applebees.. OH PLEASE”. When I tell you I get enraged everytime I get enraged EVERY GODDAMN TIME!! Excuse me ladies how much a man spends on you shouldn’t dictate if a man is qualified to date you or not. What qualifies a man to date you should be your compatibility AND THAT’S IT. Any man can go out and spend 500 cash on a date, but does that make him a qualified candidate? Does that mean he will treat you like a queen? NO!

Most women say an expensive date shows if a man can provide for her or not but, a mans pockets is equivalent to a female’s vagina. You have to work to get in there. You have to prove you’re worthy of a man’s money like we have to prove we’re worthy to enter the cave of immaculateness. I see dates as an investment. You have to prove net worth to get bigger investments don’t you? Same rules apply. Show a man you’re a great woman then you get gifted with the finances. You don’t get Filet Mignon off rip. You have to build up to that. Start with a nice walk in the park and a slice of pizza. A nice intimate cheap date should be a first date. You feel each other out and can have some good conversation then you up the ante if the two of you are really feeling each other. Why? What if he spends $100 on you and you guys don’t click? Oh that’s his fault? Wont be me!!! Ill show up at ur house naked for a week. You at LEAST owe me some sex.

But lets be realistic. Most guys in their early 20s are just building their finances and getting their money right. You should be looking for somebody with potential to build with not someone with money to blow off rip. If you do end up finding a guy at this age with a house, car, and money to blow you lucked up but 95% of time that will NOT be the case. A lot of these times these dudes with money to blow are living rent free with no house or whip, but hey if that’s what you want and looking for DO YOU BOO BOO!

Now if you cant cook.. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOURE WORTH A DATE OVER 20 Cash???? Why you ordering things you cant go home and make? Does that make sense? If you cant perform the art of fellatio like the Picasso of giving top what makes you think… You know what let me get back on track.

Now ladies cut the BS. That guy that offered you a date to applebees may be all he can afford but maybe he can also treat you how you’re supposed to be treated as a woman. Maybe he’s working and paying back these loans but want to show you a good time and show you he’s a great guy? Women are more worried about how much a man is spending rather than how much he’s saving, but im Chillin. My question is if you have a price on how much a man should spend on the first date in order to lay with you why don’t u just have sex with him for the cash? It’s the same as prostitution you’re just getting a meal for it. But hey what do I know??

Just to wrap this up. A date shouldn’t have a price on it. Not being able to afford an expensive date doesn’t make a man less of man. Maybe it makes him a fiscally responsible man who wants you to prove you’re worth the investment. We live in a very materialistic society which carries over to our values in relationships where a lot of people place value on a person based on what your significant other can provide material wise and not if they can make you happy in the long run.

Some women are going to read this post and say “I get men to take me on expensive dates all the time” #ButYoureStillSingleTho! So clearly your methods don’t work. You probably ended up busting it wide open with nothing to show but an expensive receipt and a pointless body. The curve is a very special asset to have. It comes in handy with those pesky thirst roaches, overly aggressive exes, good friends, mothers, and grandmothers. In other words EVERYBODY gets curved. Its all about the versatility of your curvage. So here is the step by step situational guide to the curve:

Friends and Family Section:

These situations have to be handled with care so you don’t hurt any feelings or damage friendships.. “With great Curvage comes Great Curvesponsibility” so here are the types of curves used for these.

The “LOL” Curve: This is the most effective curve out. The LOL curve solves all. It shows your significant other you find that person funny or see them as a joke. The Single Male/Female Section: Now when you’re single you need an arsenal of curves up your sleeve. Why? Lets be honest. Cuz you’re single. You switch numbers so you meet a lot of different people. Therefore you need to be able to apply many different curves to many different situations. I’ve broken it down to these simple yet effective curves.

The “Stevie Wonder” Curve aka The “I DON’T SEE NOBODY *fab voice* Curve: This curve is the nice route you use for someone you may see as a good person, just not for you, but you cant find the courage to be blunt about it. You become blind to their texts messages, calls, and tweets in hopes of them just getting the point to avoid hurting any feelings. Here’s an Example:

Curvee: Hey whats up

You: *crickets* *birds chirping in curvee’s inbox* *deletes text*

It only gets tricky when you end up running into the curvee after pulling a Stevie Wonder. Here’s whits called the Ess-Dub in the first place:

Curvee: Oh hey!! You didn’t get my text or any of my calls??

You: *takes out phone and inspects it* You hit this phone?? Oh man I didn’t even see it! You know what had happened was I need a new phone man this thing hardly ever works. Hit me up tho ill see you around!

The “Barry Sanders” Curve: In other words the Elusive curve. Once again this is used to not hurt any feelings or damage a friendship. You dodge dates, invitations, and conversation just to avoid those awkward moments. Here’s an example:

You: Thursday? Oh see I’m so busy that day. Work, Practice, then homework so I cant. Maybe some other time.

Curvee: Ohkay how about Saturday?

The Blunt Curve: This is when the first two curves fail. You tried the nice route so you have to be straightforward but still nice! Here’S how:

You: Listen. You’re a nice person and I see us as good friends. But I honestly don’t want to fornicate with you. I don’t want to waste any of your time, just know that im not interested like that.

The “Kanye” Curve: This asshole curve! Some people need the harsh truth because they just wont get it. They’ve pushed you to that point where every text makes your blood boil. You’ve come to a point where its just disrespectful now because they don’t respect your space. You just cant be nice so you have to hit them with the Kanye curve. Here’s How:

Curvee: So you’re just not gonna answer?

You: Listen ima let you finish.. but its quiet for you b. FOH! I don’t hit you back clearly means im not interested. Now stop blowing my phone up! Thanks!!

The “Houdini” Curve: Some of these people are so persistent to the point where “The Blatant Curve” is still ineffective. This is also effective for those clingy folk who just don’t know how to act. That’s when you just kinda sorta disappear on them. This means delete them from all forms of communication! You block their email address, blacklist their number, block them on twitter, remove them on facebook. This is self explanatory. You don’t want to have a stalker on your hands.. TRUST ME!!

The curve is an art form people. You have to curve according to the type of person you are and use these types of curves in the correct situations. Some of these curves are interchangeable as well. You may have to hit the Barry Sanders on your grandma one day or the Houdini on a cousin. Just curve responsibly people. Its okay we’ve all been sent to the Curveyard (Graveyard for Curvees). F*** Valentines Day: Chronicles of the Bitter Folk

Whats going on folks??? I’m back with another post! I know I know im DUMB late, but I had some laptop issues and lost all of my posts but I got it all back so I wanted to bless yall with some heat! And yes im goin IN! LET PAPPY COOK!!

So as we know valentines day just passed. A day to show the appreciation for a loved one whether it is family or friends, but the biggest emphasis it has, is on relationships. Now a day like that would seem like its all peaches and cream, hearts, candy, and happy little couples skipping down the skreet, but unfortunately… it was not. Why you ask? Blame the ones who didn’t have a valentine.

The bitterness on twitter and other social networks were at an all time high. It wasn’t even just women either. It was them “All these women are heaux” “Or eff jawns, get money, I need time for me” type of dudes complaining. Cmonson. My timeline was a pure warzone. The women were the funniest though. They had every excuse in the book.

“I don’t need a man. God is my valentine”

“Eff valentines day. I need flowers just cuz it’s Tuesday”

“I should be appreciated everyday I don’t need a day”

“I don’t support valentines day its just a plot to take away your money #IAintDumb”

Uhmm.. Yeah. This boils down to a big problem with today’s society when it comes to relationships. As a whole most people only want a relationship when it’s convenient. At all times of the day you see men bashing females and females bashing men, but when everyone else starts to get some loving, that’s when everybody is LL Cool J and needs love. It doesn’t work like that people. Yall remember the eclipse? When all of a sudden everybody on your timeline who bashed the other sex wanted to share that special moment with a special someone? Stop it 5. Yall waste more time bashing the other sex than you do figuring out why youre single in the first place.

What you really have to ask yourself is, Why don’t I have a real valentine? What did I do the other 364 days of the year to be alone on this day? No one ever wants to point the finger at themselves and accept responsibility for their own mishaps. 9/10x we are our own worst enemy because we don’t look deeper than surface value. We don’t look at mistakes we make personally, but we look at the situation and say said person did this or said person is acting like that. You don’t ever stop to think, “What did I do to even cause this person to be this way?”

If you have issues repeatedly in relationships, maybe it’s not the other person, maybe its you. Some people refuse to do some soul searching to find out what their own issues are. You think in sports they call timeouts to talk about lunchmeat? No! They revamp their strategy/gameplan and go out with a new approach to try to win the game. That’s what most of you need to do call a timeout and change your game plan because yall are LOSING! You don’t bump into a wall, look at the wall, and bump into again do you? I hope not cuz then you’d be a retard. No disrespect though, but that’s what a lot of you are doing. Making the same mistake over and over and over and not switching your tactics. You deserve the headaches and heartbreak if that’s the case.

If you tweet all the time about how you need penis and you’re half naked in your avi’s you really think somebody is going to want to surprise you and get to know what you like to make you have a great day? NO! They just want to greet you with a gift wrapped penis. Fellas you think if you talk about how many chicks you smashing that some chick is going to take your valentines day offering seriously? NO! Some of your problems are RIGHT on your timeline and YOU don’t even see it. It makes no sense.

I say all of that to say this: You can’t NOT work at something and expect results. You don’t expect to lose weight by just chilling do you? You have to start working on you from now so this doesn’t happen again next year. It’s a reason why you were alone on that day whether you like it or not. Either you’re subjecting yourself to a horrible situation or you’re the person causing the horrible situation. Now my bigger issue is this, Valentines day is not about you having a boo/bf/gf. In today’s society we have a bunch of people who want and require relationships but ultimately don’t know what it takes. Whether it be too much or t.v or horrible advice from friends but lawd lawd lawd you people are so misguided. In this blog I will tackle problems that plague this *breaks into song* generation of… not being in love *cut music* #TreykeCare. Seriously though, we are a lost generation when it comes to such matters because of such misconceptions that I will tackle in this post. So im back with another one!! LET PAPPY COOK

Ladies: A RELATIONSHIP IS A TWO WAY STREET!!

I’ve come to realize that women have a hard time with this. Women get complacent with a man chasing them and think they don’t have to put in ANY work. Sorry to knock you all off of your high horse, but there comes a point in time where the chase stops and it’s your turn. No man wants to chase a woman who isn’t doing her part. Sure a man is supposed to court a woman from the beginning but there’s a stage in the relationship where it becomes a 50/50 thing. The chase is over you have to show EACH OTHER that you’re worth the future headaches. You think a man is supposed to just make YOU happy while you just chill. Not. Women tend to see this as men getting comfortable. Biggest misconception. We want to see what work you’re willing to put in on your end. So if we see you not doing what you’re supposed to do then that’s when we fall back. Food for thought.

Fellas: SEX DOES NOT MEAN YOURE IN THE CLEAR!!

Fellas believe or not women are JUST LIKE US. They just hide it better. They want sex just as much as we do. Sex doesn’t necessarily mean you locked her down brother. It means she trusts you enough to share that bond with you. They want to test drive the stick before they buy the car as well. So just because she finally let you in there doesn’t mean you’re good. It means you have to go harder. Sex doesn’t define a relationship its part of it. I was always the type to not have sex with a girl I really really dig in fear I may get complacent. But truth be told, when a woman is a good woman you have to put 100% forth regardless if you guys have done the do or not. Now if it’s a woman that you just wanted to take down then so be it, but if not then my brother they are extra critical of your actions once it goes down. Stay on your toes and make that woman happy regardless.

Ladies: JUST CUZ HE DOESN’T @ YOU ON TWITTER or FB DOESN’T MEAN HE DOESN’T LIKE YOU!

There’s this issue that always comes up where a woman feels a man does not like her that much because he doesn’t show her love on a social network. Ladies this is COMPLETELY false. Most men (not all most) don’t like their business out there on front street. Main reason is if you’re a dude who’s popular or not, some dudes just want your woman just because she’s YOUR WOMAN.This is one of the biggest headaches to deal with. Men also like to keep their relationships very low to avoid the extraness. Extraness as in once you make your relationship extra public .. the public become an extra in your relationship. Once again its another headache we DO NOT want. Of course he’s supposed to claim you and make it known he’s in a relationship but having to @ you and put up pictures of you every so often to make you feel “it’s official” is extremely immature and juvenile. You have a bond in real life, you spend time together. Why does it matter if he doesn’t always hit you up on a social network? You have to be secure in your relationship, it’s the only way it’s going to work.

Fellas: NOT BEING CREATIVE!!

Man listen.. As men we go all out when we find that one at the beginning but once again we tend to stop doing all those cute things that made her fall for us. You know what I’m talking about: The random I miss you texts, random flowers, going out to eat, movie dates. All of those are things that are supposed to continue into the relationship. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been together you have to keep your relationship refreshing and new. It’s tough I know I know. I’ve had this problem too but google is your best friend. Most of the time its not even the extravagant things she wants. It the small things she likes just to reassure her she’s appreciated and thought of. If money is as tight such as mine you have to be even more creative especially in the winter because it limits outdoor options. If yall chill in the crib switch it up light some candles and just cater to your woman. Trust me fellas it’ll keep your woman.. YOUR WOMAN. You can take that however you want to take that.

Ladies: GOING OUT ALL THE TIME IS NOT OK!!

Ladies just like you we want our quality time. There’s a lot of women who just do too much. You think we want to sit around knowing you at a party and some guy is grinding his pelvis on you all crazy every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday….. NO! Sorry you made the choice to be in a relationship so act like it. Of course its okay to have your girls night out just like we need to take time to just chill with the fellas but DON’T OVER DO IT. If your man is asking you every weekend to come over and you say no you going to some party. Don’t be surprised if the requests become less frequent and someone else is taking advantage of his free time. Keep your man entertained. Parties last but so long, when 4am hits and the party is letting out and your man don’t want no parts what are you going to do? Think about that

Fellas: VOICING HOW YOU FEEL DOES NOT MAKE YOU SOFT!!

As a man we tend to feel as if telling a woman how much we like her makes us soft. It’s the feeling of being vulnerable or looking a certain type of way. Fellas truth be told women LOVE that. Women like to hear it just as much as she likes to feel it. You have to assure your woman, it’s okay to tell her “Babe I like the dog shit out of you”. Lol maybe not like that but you get the point. Another thing we do is tend to act like we don’t care when she does something wrong. Voice how you feel let her know how you feel about things. That’s the only way she can know what type of man she’s dealing with. It’s okay to feel a type of way. We’re human not robots. Holding stuff in only makes you dislike the woman you’re dealing with. So much can get accomplished when you communicate with your lady constantly on feelings. Grow up man. The drake jokes probably scare you but trust a real woman appreciates these types of things. Get your drake on in her inbox if she laughs at you she’s just some immature chick who wants to be treated wrong. Let her go.

These are very very few misconceptions, but these are some of the BIGGEST problems in relationships nowadays. Everyone is too cool to be in love. Stop the madness. You will be lonely FOREVER. Forget the masses and the twitter gurus. Live your life for you. Your relationship is yours. Stop going to outside people for advice when you can ask the person you’re dealing with. When it comes to communication what’s the need for advice? Everyone is different so if that person you’re going to doesn’t know who he/she truly is that you’re dealing with then they can’t help you. So since my last blog post Ive been thinking about which topic I should tackle next and came to a stand still. Then I thought what is something I haven’t tackled yet that affects us all *insert drum roll* THE THIRST!!. This is something all of us, well most anyway, encounter on a daily basis. Why not go in on this topic? Its pure genius. LET PAPPY COOK!!!!!

Fellas: We have got to do better. The thirst is not attractive. Not only is it not attractive. ITS ANNOYING AND IM NOT EVEN A FEMALE!! Girls aren’t gonna just throw the pooms at you because you compliment her every avi change/instagram/video blog/twitpic. CMONSON. If that’s what got you wins in the past by all means but youd get so much more if you played it cool. Some women are extremely attractive I understand but you being the 1000^thdude to comment on her photo telling her how “beautiful” she is doesn’t increase your chances bro.

The bigger issue here isn’t even necessarily the thirst. It’s the thirst yall show for BASIC BITCHES. I try to keep my blog as politically correct as possible but there isn’t another way to explain a BASIC BITCH sorry but let me cook right now. Its not even low you guys make us look bad. A chick put up a half naked avi and you’re saying “oh you look like an angel right now”. Come on bruh you know damn well the only thing you looking at is that dark luscious areola b. A jawn put up an avi with her yams out and you talking about “you look so intelligent here”. STOP IT FIVE! You ARE NOT LOW. You’re giving these women a plateau to want to be basic chicks. Ladies we notice the thirstage. You ask for a certain kind of attention that’s the attention you get. You cant set thirst traps and then call someone thirsty. You’re just as guilty because you know what you’re doing but looking down on someone else for falling for the trap you set purposely. These thirst trap avis aren’t going to get you cuffed. All it does is gets you some penis on a constant basis. Honestly no male is going to take a woman seriously whos always half naked on the internet. You’re not leaving anything to the imagination. Most men see you fully clothed looking bad as ever and think hmm I wonder what she looks like w.o that. But I sign on facebook and see titties its no point now we just got a half woody .. thanks I appreciate that but no thanks. We see them thirst trap avis and think.. “Look at this hoe chesticles” or “Id Beat”. First impression is everything, if you come off as heaux first time we meet you, you’re a heaux until proven innocent. That’s just the facts of life.

Fellas back to you though. We have to stop giving these basic half naked jawns a reason to be basic half naked jawns. Most of the time they’re not even worth the beats. We’re taking the attention off of the women who deserve it on a daily basis. We complain about these hoes but are also making it okay for these women to be that way. Yall have GOT to chill. Now if you don’t know how to show interest in a woman. Get to know her. Harassing her inbox calling her pretty/cute/sexy/gorgeous is okay but 9/10x there is about 20 others doing the same thing. Be different. Appreciate the woman she is and she’ll appreciate you. Now if you just trying to go for the yams. The thirst is the way to go.. not!! BUT GOOD LUCK BRO!

Ladies maintain your thirst! Nothing devalues a woman’s vagina more than the thirst well there is frequent hoe activity but that’s the same thing. The fact of the matter here is most women don’t respect themselves or have the self confidence to just be regular. Its okay to be regular. Ive heard women say they put up thirst trap avis to promote their business or to get attention. Sorry but if your only way to promote your business or to get attention is to be half naked on the internet then that sucks. Women are already objectified don’t do it to yourself. Take pride in being a woman and taking over with your intellect rather than your succulent chesticles and happiness cave (vagina). Value yourself and men wont have a choice but to respect you. Its starts with you though.

Just keep your cool people. The world is full of the thirst. The only way you’ll stand out is if you be you and just relax. 9/10x if you chill and play your cards right things will just fall into place.

Love: From A Mans Perspective #TheStruggle

Ive come to notice that most women or men don’t know or understand why men are the way they are when it comes to the emotion we call Love. So I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks and now I’m here with another post. #BigPappyBack!!! Read this post for understanding. We don’t need you to agree or disagree. Just read with an open mind and try to understand where we’re coming from.

From day one as a young man you are told “Man Up” “Don’t be no punk” “Stop complaining” because we are supposed to be the strength and the backbone of the family and you cant do that as some emotional dude. So we are raised with the thought that showing emotion is weakness and youre less of a man for it. As compared to women who are taught they are women so they have every right to be emotional and its okay to cry and to be upset. The only emotion most men have growing up is anger or happiness and are forced to bottle up our sadness and compassion. So the emotions called love and affection are very foreign to us especially when it comes to females. The only female we have those sort of feelings for from jump is for our Mothers. That’s because its ok and its accepted at the time. Hence the reason why we look for our women in the image of our Mothers. Now this is a double edged sword because it causes us to have very high standards which can scare females away who feel they cant measure up.

With that being said when we actually do get in tune with those emotions (love & affection) for another woman its fairly new so we don’t know how to act and we go all out. That’s why that first heartbreak is the only heartbreak it takes to turn a man bad. We actually open up 100%, tell you how we really feel, holding hands, all that cool stuff. Then the unthinkable happens #heartbreak. So the thought process now is why would I open up to a chick ever again. I was always told to bottle my emotions up so I’m going back to that. It doesn’t make us weak at all, it’s just how we are brought up in society. As compared to women who can honestly fall in love in their younger years so they are more familiar with these feelings and how to deal with them. Women will have multiple heartbreaks but in all honesty a man will probably get his heartbroken once, maybe twice that’s how real it is.

What women have to understand is when a man really loves he loves hard because that’s all we know how to do. Dudes don’t get in a relationship to kill time or just because its what he’s used to. A man gets in a relationship because those feelings are genuine. So its not always that men just want to hump everything as to why he’s scared of commitment/relationships. It’s actually the fear of you just wanting a relationship just to have one and ending up switching up as time goes on and being hurt again.

Furthermore a hurt Male is very hard to get to. We have reverted back to not showing emotion which causes women to feel that all men are cold hearted and don’t care which isn’t the case. We just don’t know how to handle being vulnerable at the end of the day. Especially when good men are always overlooked because most women want this “tough guy” not one who’s “too soft”. Women even go as far to call men who show emotion “bitches’. Understood that you always have to be a man about your business regardless but its still frowned upon later on in life for opening up too much. The problem is most men don’t know how to balance showing just enough emotion. It’s either showing none or showing all.

For those who have read all of this and still dont understand where we’re coming from let me simplify this. As a man our first interaction with a woman is our Mother’s. Which is the deepest love there is, Unconditional love. Therefore when we are introduced to love relationship wise, we fall and we fall hard, and when that doesn’t work we’re hurt. Love is a foreign subject to men. We don’t know how to handle it because we weren’t taught that from our early years. So heartbreak or a failed relationship is something that we honestly cant handle emotionally because we haven’t been able to learn what they are as of yet. As we get older we realize what Love really is and how to go about it the appropriate way.

My advice to men is, its okay to have emotions. Just know when and when not to show them. No woman wants a man whos barriers are up 24/7. Part of growing up is getting over the past. Getting hurt is going to happen. We end up overlooking a good woman holding on to past relationships. If you feel some type of way fellas, its okay to speak on it. You’re supposed to, but you have to do it in moderation and for things that actually matter. You can’t complain and nitpick at the things females do because at the end of the day, you’re a male regardless of the fact. Just like there’s a double standard on sex for women there are always going to be a double standards on emotion for men that we have to live with.

My advice to women, if you have a good man who does open up and show you love don’t look down on him. A lot of women tend to poke fun at dudes who aren’t scared to show emotions. It doesn’t make us a “bitch” it makes us human. I even had trouble writing this post in fear that people will be like “Who Hurt You” until I realized I don’t really care what people think. Everyone’s been hurt and every male can relate to this post. You have to be real with yourself. I’m someone who handles and understands emotion very well due to experience and have had those problems showing them after the first heartbreak so I’ve been through it. You live and you learn! This is the everyday struggle men face out here!! Its too real. Now you know why most of us are the way we are. Getting hurt isn’t what men can or even want to handle. So we’re extra selective when it comes to who we deal with on that type of level. Good thing or bad thing??? Hmm.. NEVER KNOW!

In the year 2011 we are faced with a new woman. Not the woman we see on the TV shows who take care of the house, cook, clean, and etc. The new and improved woman. The independent don’t take nothing from no one, don’t need a man to do for her type of woman. Now I accept the changes these women have made to do better, but with this mindset there are a lot of issues with today’s young women. So of course Pappionitus is back with another post!!

So the question arises, “What the hell happened to being ladylike?” Here’s what seems to be the problems men have with today’s women:

Appearance: Ladies nowadays have this thing where they believe less is more. In which women dress scandalous in order to get the attention from a male counterpart. How many times have you came on twitter and seen the most unattractive female with 1000s of followers or 1000s of friends on facebook because shes in her panties and bra? Here’s the issue with your “Less Is More Theory”. When a picture is painted all you can do is come up with your own conclusion to what that painting may mean or signify until you meet the artist who tells you what it is right? Ladies what you are doing is labeling yourself as “Sexy” not beautiful, gorgeous, or pretty, but sexy. Sexy as in that’s what the motive becomes. I don’t know a nere nadda man who’s seen a woman half naked on a social site and said “Yea, She signifies a strong woman who’d be a great mother one day”. You bring the wrong attention to yourself. You can say oh just cuz I dress this way doesn’t mean I am this way but im sorry first impression is EVERYTHING regardless of what you say or how you put it. Dress for the part ladies. You want respect then dress like a respectable woman, it leaves more to the imagination when we see a woman fully dressed looking good as ever. It makes us want to work to see what else you have to offer. No man should see you in your panties and bra until he has courted you and yall are about to do the damn thing. You’re giving EVERYBODY the sneak peek at the goodies without them putting in ANY work. Who’s going to want to give you his last name after that?

Attitude: One of the biggest problems with today’s independent woman is their attitude. The, I don’t need anything from no man attitude. Now this is a double edged sword because it is a negative and a positive. I love how independent women have become but there is a such thing as TOO independent. A man wants to feel like he’s needed. If you’re telling me you don’t need me already then why would I pursue you? Women have this thing called emotion. Males have a similar thing but its called the Ego. The males ego you may not know about or understand but you have to accept just as we have to accept your emotions. If you cant cater to a mans ego he’s not going to want to make you happy point blank period because its what keeps us going. Like yes my queen thinks I’m the best man ever and it makes us want to continue being so. Be you, be independent, but also be open. You can have a good man beside you and you may not need him for anything financially but you do emotionally. You need him for that love, security, and companionship. Don’t sell yourself short of that because others weren’t up to par. Ditch that attitude ladies. Independent does not = Lonely!

Discretion: I couldn’t do this post without tackling the issue of discretion with today’s women. Its not a day I’m browsing through the usual social networking sites and not slapping myself on the forehead in disgust. Whether it be women showing off their sexual relations, unofficial relationships or relationships in general its just all over the place. It seems as if there is confusion with women nowadays. Want to be independent but can’t live and function without a “Him”. Back in the day women flaunted their HUSBANDs not boyfriends or just dudes they’re talking to. In fact people rarely knew besides family members because they had to meet them first before anything even went down. Ladies be discrete with your relations. Its such a turn off to see you praising him so much and two months later you crying about being single again and then theres a new him. Yes we see and we take mental notes on that type of thing. Im not saying don’t play the field but don’t let it be known. You don’t see men doing it that often do you? Because we still believe in discretion. Not to hide you but to make sure our home is built correctly before throwing a party in there. You are setting yourselves up for failure by doing so.

Domestication: You already know where I’m going with this one. With the birth of this new improved woman so did the death of cooking and cleaning. Women have lost sight of the essentials. You can be the prettiest female in the world but not being able to prepare a well cooked nutritional meal for your family is the BIGGEST turn off ever. How do you expect to survive? You can’t eat out everyday! Im not saying men want you to just cook for them. Even though we do, its more important you know how to cook for yourself. How can you be independent when you don’t have this key component? Today’s women feel as if they don’t have to do any of these things because they are independent so they don’t have time to be cooking and cleaning. Why not be the complete package though? Why not be able to cook, clean, AND provide? You’d be unstoppable.

Sexuality: Now on to the meat and potatoes of the post. If anything is the problem with today’s women is definitely the sexuality. Whether it be promiscuity or discretion of sexual activity but this is the worst. It is a new day I understand but ladies you have to do better. Its healthy to talk about sex and relations… IN PRIVATE! Everybody on twitter doesn’t need to know you caught the thrashing last night. Everybody doesn’t need to know how horny you are. It’s the same thing as appearance. You’re attracting all the wrong attention from men. What they see is “Oh she’s open then huh” now you may not be open or a hoe BUT that’s the type of qualities you are portraying. Now to promiscuity!! There have been hoes for centuries! The world cant function without hoes, but they’ve become like roaches. You see 1 hoe there’s 5 more lurking in the shadows. Have women just gave up? Its bad when even the really pretty girls are giving it up filthy. Ladies I was taught that a woman’s body is her temple and she should appreciate it and treat it as such. Ive always kept that in mind but with the frequent hoe activity, the value of vagina has depreciated. Respect your bodies ladies! All these dudes running up in you but you expect to be treated with respect? No maam. I will repeat it is a new day and women are exploring their sexuality more often but I will say men have almost come to terms with it as bad as that sounds. The problem arises when you try to hide it. A mature adult owns up to their good and bad habits. Its like you do the hoe activity but don’t like when its being said. Come to terms with what you do but grow from it and become a better woman.

To sum this all up. This post isn’t meant to bash but uplift. We need our women back. The women are the rock of the household and the direct companion of a man. We don’t need you to do what we do. Double standards exist so what. Men may have contributed to this but as a woman you should never devolve to the animalistic ways of a man. You are only contributing to the negative connotations. You were born a woman which means you have to make those sacrifices of being a lady. You are the bearer of our children why wouldn’t you want to be treated with respect and be looked at as a queen? Whether it be sex, discretion, or appearance its up to you to set the standard. Men don’t dictate anything. If you set the tone as a respectful woman then that’s the kind of treatment you will receive. Be strong. We understand how hard it is to be a woman but we only want you to be the best. At the end of the day we have to settle down and be with you for the rest of our lives.

Something we’re going to tell our kids about. Now I wont preach innocence or guilt. These are just my thoughts right or wrong…

The Troy Davis case raised many eyebrows. With so much doubt the question arises: how can one be given the death penalty? Like I said I cant say this man is innocent, but I can say without a doubt, I cant agree. Now the question is, is this a black and white thing? In my honest opinion it definitely is. The killing of a white police officer by a black man… IN GEORGIA... Georgia where the confederate flag still waves proudly in most parts? I can’t see how one wouldn’t be able to see it. They gave this man the death penalty and the 3 police officers who shot and killed Sean Bell got acquitted. They gave this man the death penalty and Casey Anthony walks free. Once again is this a black and white thing? Yes, but it goes deeper than that, this is also a fight against our faulty judicial system and the inhumane death penalty. This also showed us that the power may not even be in numbers anymore being that over a million people signed the petitions but the power remains in the hands of those with the deeper wallets and powerful positions. A few weeks ago I made a comment on my blog. We have enough rappers and video vixens, entertainers, dancers, and party promoters. We need people looking to fight for what’s right from the inside. We don’t have the MLK’s, The Huey P Newtons, Thurgood Marshalls’ or Malcom X’s anymore. As a people we have to do what we have to do as individuals. It seems as if we are looking at each other waiting for the other to take the first step into leadership. We all need to take that first step. We need the powerful black doctors, DA’s, and political figures to prevent this from happening again. This was definitely a sad day in America but everything happens for a reason. This was a message for us as a people to wake up and stop being complacent. Racism and inequality still exists and its up to us to fight it. It’s but so much we can do behind a computer screen of our 9-5 tweeting, facebooking, and instagramming. Much more needs to be done.

I was shocked at the ignorance of my people during this case as well. Tweeting “whos troy davis” “what did he do” “oh yall can talk about sex one day and now yall are civil rights activists?”. First why is it that this new generation of people always need to be spoon fed? Is there no such thing as educating yourself? In this day and age of technological advancement there are many outlets to so much information. Are you all telling me my people are too lazy to type in google.com and Troy Davis but can send out 20 tweets per minute? You cant google Troy Davis but damn sure figured out what site the latest news about the ray j and fab beef is on? Is that what’s cool nowadays? Second why is that it’s wrong to have fun one day and be about business the next? Everyone has to be one way all the time? Can there be no such thing as versatility? It’s almost sickening to see my own people down others for enlightening themselves on such an issue. No matter the time frame late or early at least they took the time to do so.

I can go on about this topic all day long but ill wrap this up with this. There are many Troy Davis’ out there. We were late on this one but the way we got our people together the past few days to fight against this is a big step. Think if we enlightened ourselves months and years ago what we could have done. We dropped the ball on this one and will continue to drop the ball if we don’t smarten up. Strive for more. Anyone of us can be the next MLK or Malcom X but why cant there be MANY MLK’s or Malcom Xs that’s what we need to be working on. The power can be in numbers but think how much stronger we would be with numbers, intellect, AND Leadership.

In most cases this is the PERFECT scenario. Two friends who enjoy each other’s company finally decide to make it physical with an agreement to keep it physical with no romantic feelings. Sounds great right? FALSE!!!!!! In this blog I will tackle this issue and give the solution! Now watch me work *dougies*

The Problem:

Now I’m a heavy advocate for this type of relationship. The first reason you finally get to see what it was like after picturing and thinking about it. The second reason there are no real emotions involved. Just two friends who really think highly of each other breaking down that boundary and doing what the grown ups do. Friends with benefits can either be great or bad. In most cases it turns out for the worst in which two people who were once friends are now enemies. Heres the Problem:

Emotions: The problem starts when someone starts to catch romantic feelings for the other and the other is like “wait what you agreed no feeling now all of a sudden you like me? CMONSON”. Most of the time its mainly on the females part lets keep it funky (don’t comment explaining how much of an exception to this rule you are we get it we get it) but fellas yall aren’t safe. Now my issue is do you catch feelings for that person because that’s who you’re sexing right now and that’s how you think its supposed to be or because you genuinely like that person?

Communication: Another problem that arises is communication!! Some folk just jump into this friends with benefits movement with out the guidelines so now there’s confusion and “I thought you meant” “I didn’t think it would be like this”. Now the problem may be communication or lack there of.. but also TOO MUCH communication. Someone not being discrete with the situation. Get hype and start telling the homegirls and the homegirls start trying to make u define the relationship or you tell your boys and your boys make things awkward by making jokes and ETC.

Wack Sex: Now this right here can make things awkward. You go in thinking oh he/she knows so much about me and we actually have a respect for each other this should be great.. Right? FALSE! You come to find out shorty has the possum pums (just lays there and does nothing.. you know like a dead possum ... credit @_DaveyBaby for the terminology) or your homie whips out the mini-me..nis (mini-me + penis .. I think yall get it though) or no stroke :(. This is kind of self explanatory. You cant be friends with benefits without an actual benefit. Smh that sucks

The Solution:

Emotion: People… Emotions are just emotions. They are yours and you control them. If its not love then you can control it (even that’s not an excuse but ill let yall rock with that one)but im sorry its just an excuse. I think this one really is directed to all the women out there and you soft ass dudes. In my honest opinion I feel it’s a confusion of emotions. Ladies how many times have you fallen for a dude or kept him around because you were blinded by the good dinnick? And fellas how many times have you ran back to the crazy chick cuz she had the greatness cave? I personally think people get too wrapped up in sex and cant decipher their emotions so they assume it’s an “I like you” thing. Lets be real here. If you feel yourself catching feelings by all means withdraw from the physical aspect but don’t let your emotions deter your friendship because remember you guys were once friends before any of this went down. Once again emotions are emotions don’t let a TEMPORARY feeling ruin a good friendship because clearly yall had one or yall wouldn’t have went there.

Communication: This is the key component. There has to be clear guidelines as what this friends with benefits consists of. Either you guys agree its only physical and you want to keep it that way or it’s a we go with the flow type of thing in which if we feel it can go further, it has the possibility to, so no one can be faulted for catching feelings. Another thing are you guys going to keep it monogamous or are you allowed to still do your thing? These avenues have to be explored in order to have a successful FWB type of relationship. Always discuss whats going on. Are you guys enjoying the sex? Is anyone starting to catch feelings? If so whats the plan of action? Are we going to continue or end it here? COMMUNICATE. Its your FRIEND there should always be honest open discussion. Trust issuses should NEVER arise in this case. If you cant trust that person #1 why are they your friend #2 why are yall having sex? Cmon people its very very simple.

Wack Sex: Self explanatory. If you don’t know what your friend likes sexually yall aren’t friends. Real friends male or female talk about these things. Think about what your friend likes and do that if not COMMUNICATE and make it happen. Wack sex will end it before it started. Sad to say not everybody has the good pums or the slam dance dinnick.

The benefits of friends with benefits goes like this: You have someone you trust you can go to, to take care of your physical needs and as a friend, emotional needs as well. Ladies this eliminates the recycling bodies (calling up your ex or old jawn) so you don’t have to add a new body to the carfax. Fellas this eliminates the smashing random jawns on the regular. You guys have a mutual agreement in which you two respect the situation. Its as simple as that. The problem is you people cant control your emotions and are jumping into things without communication.

Also FWB isnt a conspiracy theory for men to get the ass without a relationship. A lot of the time women initiate this. It's actually beneficial (see what i did there?) and healthy if done right. Realize this, not every relationship HAS to turn into boyfriend and girlfriend thing, somethings are better off left where they are at and if you cant understand that you need to take some time off and do some soul searching and maturing. Again not everyone is meant to be the one!

P.S: Emotions belong to you.. If you cant control your emotions then what can you control? That’s how YOU feel? If you cant control YOUR emotions how can you control anything else when YOU don’t have YOU in order? Think about that one

Its something us men don’t understand and never will BUT in order to make your woman happy you have to be there for her when shes in that emotional state. We know what we are getting into beforehand dealing with a woman. We have to prepare for everything! So when she does break down or cry or be mad over something you see as stupid. Take a step back and realize who youre dealing with. That’s YOUR woman. Tend to that!

Rule #2: Tuck That Pride Away: Pride is a key component to a failure of a relationship. You don’t want to show too much emotion, you don’t want to give too much without giving back, you don’t want to seem like a lover boy. A real man doesn’t care about that. A real man is willing to put all that aside to ensure you have that beautiful woman in your bed when you get home and that’s real talk. So when it comes to your lady wrap that pride up bruh! A relationship is you and her so be a pussy and send her that random ass I love you text and bring her some flowers on a random day. Seriously it matters and will keep your woman.. YOUR WOMAN. Rule #6: Security: No woman wants a soft dude. They want to feel like theyre safe with you. What are you going to do when some guy trys to talk to her while shes with you? Act like you don’t see it? What Are You Bringing To The Table?

Nowadays it seems as if a bunch of useless folk are so eager to jump into a relationship with nothing to offer. Not even looks a lot of the time. The key to a successful relationship is complimenting the other where the other lacks (hence the opposites attract) or even strengthening the qualities that person has already. All in All I think I’ve pin pointed the problem!! *cracks knuckles* Let Pappy Cook!!!

The problem in today’s society is people are more focused on how they look and what they wear than actually having some substance. Think about it. How many men/women you know talk about how fly and attractive they are and why they deserve to be in a relationship but don’t bring shit to the table BUT that? Shit a good portion of the female can’t make pork and beans but know how to give sloppy toppy. That’s ASS backwards. If you don’t have the essentials I’m sorry any self respecting man with self value will not consider you or take you serious in anyway shape or form. You can’t cook, clean, hold an intellectual conversation, and perform in the bedroom its quiet for you! And men that goes for you too. You cant be looking for any of these qualities in a woman if you don’t have them yourself. Id take a ugly funny chick who watches sports with me than a pretty chick who don’t watch sports with no sense of humor. Substance people substance!!! Who are you? What qualities do you have? The next issue I’m going to tackle is what makes relationships fail as a whole. NOBODY is willing to cut off all of the side dishes to get to the Entrée (swag me out cuh yall like how I said that right?). Most are just finding ways to hide the side dishes better than actually cutting them out of the picture period. How you want me to cuff when you got so n so on the side? Lil Ra Ra and DereonQuan all up in your phone but im supposed to cuff you right? You got Tabasconequa and Chickenoftheseaesha in your mentions talkin crazy she not taking you serious fam!! That just shows most folk aren’t really as ready and mature enough for a relationship as much as they think they are. Cutting off all of the side pieces does this.. Makes it IMPERATIVE you get to know who youre dealing with. A lot of yall are jumping in relationships with people you think are the best candidate but really aren’t because you had side pieces and never really got the opportunity to find out who that person was in and out. Having a side piece is like a crutch its easy, you always have an outlet or an excuse to not give somebody a real shot because you have other women/men anyway. Think about the side pieces you currently have, all they are, are distractions from the most important one keep it funky. Think of the time you’d spend on the phone, on text, going out, if you only had that ONE person to get to know? And listen WE ALL do it. WE ARE ALL GUILTY! So don’t read dis post like no not me.. Yes you too goddamnit. But if you just playing to play .. Then play on and this doesn’t apply to you

To sum this all up:

You have to be the change you want to see. Be a leader and take the steps necessary to get to the goal you want. Waiting on someone else to do right so you do wrong too isn’t ever going to help a situation. Don’t complain about relationships when you aren’t doing what youre supposed to do on your end. You want a loyal and real relationship, Be real and be loyal. If that doesn’t work out that person just wasn’t for you. Don’t blame the male or female species. Not everybody is going to be the one.
