Ayla Reynolds: Vigil Organizer Raises Concerns

When a child goes missing, it touches us all. It can be simply an emotional attachment to the story, a hope for a happy ending, or a demand for justice.

But beyond those limitations, there are those who seek to input themselves into a case. Some seek 15 minutes, no matter the cause, while others seek to cash in, for whatever reason or cause.

Some, however, are concerning, and they are not all simply lawyers out to make a buck at the expense of justice.

Some should not be involved in child cases.

The man who organized the vigil may be one. He wrote that parents should, among other things, "caress" their children. This caused many commentators to ask:

Is he a pedophile?

If so, why would a pedophile be organizing anything to do with a child?

He wrote recently on a blog and it was sent to me. Below is a short analysis following the posting:

It's a complex case to say the least. I think from time to time, we all are complex. I know that since I hosted the Vigil this past Saturday, (That was the second one that I did), things have been made more "Public." I may have to do a third one, and have the entire "Waterville Community" just waiting to find out, like me, if we will continue to keep "Hope" alive as well as "Faith". In matter of fact Canibus, that is why this past Saturday, I took the 2 hour Vigil, divided it into 4 - 30 minutes segments, and spoke of "Hope, Faith, Community and Family." It was a good Vigil, but only heard by those that had gathered up here in Waterville, Maine, and was only about 60 in number. There were a lot more than that, but the rest were made up of media; Radio, Television, and I think I saw a couple of them from S.A., but they don't understand English too well, but they are just trying their best, like me, to get a "Little" girl home ... and that may just have to be where it looks like it may be ... as of this writing this morning.

Personally, I hope this comes to an end fast. People are really getting on my nerves, especially since Saturday, when I dawned on me about my friend and the personal message, and the way that I have to word things. I have to, because that is what Law Enforcement officials have advised me to do. I am not trying to hide anything, nor do I want to add fuel to this mess up here. I know that I am not giving enough time to my "Medical" marijuana grow here, as well as spending all day posting, either here or on FaceBook. I just can't. It's because I am running around, trying to get this resolved as best as a normal, yet with a tarnished record (Felon) can do. Some people get it, especially my "Family of Community in Waterville" knows who exactly who I am. They know about my past, yet, cast that aside and just want to help both me and Ayla.

Hell, someone asked me some pretty dumb questions, but I guess they don't have anything else to do. We call them trolls on here, but I guess there are trolls all over. They think that I murdered Ayla. They think I live next door to the house. They think just because I have a "Friend" in prison, that I just give up on them etc. Like I told the Detective yesterday, my biggest problem is that I call "Everyone" a friend or buddy, pal. That's just who I am. That is my nature. Been like that for 53 years. Can I change that? Sure, and I will, but it will not happen in 53 seconds. I just wish that people would look at facts, or laws before opening their pie-hole. Since I have already stated this, but feel the need to bring it up one more time .... I am a pedophile. But because of Maine's law, I do not have to register as a sex offender, for it happened over 30 years ago. I had a blip in life. I was on street drugs, and they were heavy hitters. Similar to today's Bath Salts. I made a mistake and am ashamed of it. I am morbidly ashamed of it. I will, as will she, carry that weight until the end of time. But ... To repent, I feel the need (personally speaking here) that it happened over the corse of time that I was "messed up". I am not that way today, nor have I been for over 28 years when I met someone that I married.

Just last night while I waiting for my wife to get out of work, my phone rang. It was someone, that was calling me and concerned a "Personal Message" that I had placed on FaceBook. ( I wrote that Personal Message to "One" individual, who has responded (almost immediately I may add via text messaging), but it is still out there. Maybe he has a guilty feeling on his shoulders. I don't know. What I do know is that it is now in the hands of Detectives, who will decide if it's worthy or not to pursue. Not me, for because of my upbringing as a Catholic, we love thy neighbor, as well as 9 other Commandments. It's a troubled world we live in, and a lot of this in today's world, sadly to say, has to do with drugs. Both Street and Prescribed.

I used to work (prior to becoming disabled 5years ago) work for a company that is a major distributor. I wrote the word "Success." Back when I was working, this particular company had flyiers, patches worn on hats, shirts, everywhere that word (used in various forms depending on what department you worked in; Example when I worked in Customer Service; (Teamwork is the key to Success) and that is how I meant it when I posted recently. Someone wrote this on a post; "Success" in keeping Evil Secrets, detracting attention with "promulgating the Holy Dogma" of deception, all in the name of a Writer's Quest for Glory, and relegating the finding of Ayla to an after thought of Justice" And then they ask the "listeners that are watching this one forum (of many) ... "Did I interpret that right?" I am like what the f--k !! (I had to look up them big words, for I am who I am)

I probably said more than I should have, but hey ... I know where my heart is. They don't. I knew from the get go, Day One, that I would be scrutinized for my past and all of that. Did I care. No. Do I care. No. All I want is what happened to me just the other day ... to have a "Little" one know that He (In my PERSONAL life now know, my grandson) or She (In the Reynold's and DiPietro's family, know that Ayla is home. Period.

Please note that I "am" a pedophile is present tense. This is not someone who molested a child 30 years ago and has not been sexually attracted since. This small word, "am" chosen quickly, reveals him for who he is. For him, it is present tense language because it is ongoing, regardless of situation.

The minimizing is expected.

How many times does one offend before being caught?

Note regarding his wife, he calls her "someone" which is gender neutral.

Marriage is a sexual relationship, ,and this is a sexless term.

He also reported being castrated. Physical castration is not simply done by doctors lightly; and is likely related to having undergone chemical castration. There is a great deal of deception in his statements.

The phone call may be related to the investigation as law enforcement likely has concern about some of the things he has posted. They are monitoring statements which is the norm.

When he says "some think I murdered Ayla..." he is entering into the language of others; not embedding.

Sadly, he self reported, in public, that he was on "suicide watch" which, when done in such a public forum as the internet, is attention seeking behavior, and can be highly manipulative. Pedophiles are often found to be manipulators of both adults and children.

As he continues to put himself in the public domain, he increases the possibility of suicide after the case subsides and he loses his "cause" in life. This may be his only reprieve from guilt, which is what he does when he contacts those who have made "mistakes", including killing of one's wife, seeking to find those worse than himself to alleviate the anguish.

What, in his thinking, may be "worse" than pedophilia?

A child killer?

That this case has brought out high emotions in the public is not surprising. That TV personalities unjustly criticize law enforcement in exchange for ratings is not unexpected.

That the case would draw in those inappropriate for such things happens in missing child cases where the press is involved. We have seen this previously as some seek to work out their own issues, projecting themselves into cases, taken illogical but highly emotional stances.

For them, it is not about the missing child.

For the one who goes this route, it is about self.

Baby Joshua Updates

'Baby Joshua' now missing for 1 year

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -

It has been almost a year since the disappearance of then 18-month-old Joshua Davis Jr., and family members said Wednesday night during a vigil, they are still praying for his safe return.

"It's just as hard as all the other days," said Sabrina Benitez, Joshua's mother. "Not knowing where my son's at, who has him and if he's OK."

Saturday marks a year when "Baby Joshua" disappeared from the family's home in New Braunfels.

At that time, New Braunfels Police, the Texas Rangers and the FBI were leading a search for the toddler.

Benitez said it's hard to believe a year has passed since her baby disappeared.

"The whole year has been difficult," said Benitez. "Just knowing it's been a year missed out on memories, every holiday that passed last year without him, his birthday."

Benitez said she still believes that he is still somewhere with someone and that he is safe.

"Just take a second out of your day and say a prayer for my baby boy," Benitez said. "A prayer that he's safe and OK, that God will reunite us back together."

On Saturday, the Heidi Search Center located in the 4100 block of Naco Perrin will be opening its doors to the community to observe Baby Joshua's disappearance and to continue to help with the search.

The New Braunfels Police Department still has a Crime Stoppers hotline open for anyone who may have seen the missing baby. That number is 830-620-8477(TIPS).

There were seven adults in the house that night, and several of them have been less than truthful with investigators," New Braunfels police Capt. John McDonald said.

McDonald would not say how many and which family members police suspect didn't tell the truth and would not say why detectives believe so.

He said that the department isn't ready to solve the case but that new information, which he did not disclose, suggests that Joshua may be dead.

Josh Powell attends Susan Powell vigil (KOMO)

TACOMA, Wash., (ABC 4 News) - A judge ordered that the children of Josh and Susan Powell will stay with Susan's parents while Josh undergoes psycho-sexual evaluation. Attorneys also discussed pornographic images discovered by West Valley City Police on Josh's computer, KOMO-TV reported.

According to KOMO, images taken from Josh Powell's computer by WVC investigators in 2009 were mentioned by prosecutors, saying they were part West Valley City's ongoing criminal investigation into Susan Powell's disappearance.

Powell's attorney called the images "tasteless, but not illegal" during Wednesday's hearing.

During the court proceedings, Powell said he had never seen the images mentioned by prosecutors, and his attorney questioned how investigators even knew the images belonged to Josh.

Regarding the images, West valley City Police released a statement saying:

"The West Valley City Police Department is aware of the current child custody matter in the State of Washington involving Joshua Powell and his two children. During the course of the investigation into the disappearance of Susan Cox Powell, the wife of Joshua Powell and mother of their two children, the West Valley City Police Department discovered information specifically related to their children’s welfare. This information was provided to authorities in the State of Washington."

A judge ordered Josh to undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation that would also include a polygraph test.

In the meantime, the judge ordered that the Powell's two young sons would stay in temporary custody with Susan's parents, Chuck and Judy Cox.

Susan Powell disappeared from her West Valley City home in December 2009. Josh was named a 'person of interest' in the case, and moved from Utah to live with his father Steven Powell in Puyallup, Washington a little more than a month after Susan's disappearance.

In August, police raided Steve Powell's home and found enough evidence to arrest and charge him with child pornography possession and voyeurism.

Administration briefs Senate leaders on Taliban transfer

Top Obama administration officials briefed eight senior Senate leaders Tuesday on a pending deal to transfer as many as five Taliban prisoners from the U.S. detention facility at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to Qatar.

The Cable staked out the classified briefing in the basement of the Capitol building Tuesday afternoon. The eight senators who attended the briefing were Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid(D-NV), Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Senate Intelligence Committee heads Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Senate Armed Services chiefs Carl Levin (D-MI) and John McCain (R-AZ), and Senate Foreign Relations Committee leaders John Kerry (D-MA) and Richard Lugar (R-IN).

The identities of the administration briefers were not shared, but we were told it was a high-level interagency briefing team.

All of the senators refused to discuss the contents of the briefing as they exited the secure briefing room in the Senate Visitors' Center. But Levin and McCain both discussed the issue in question before entering the briefing, namely the administration's negotiations with the Taliban over transferring the Taliban prisoners into Qatari custody.

Levin told reporters Tuesday that the briefing was "about the ongoing Taliban reconciliation efforts." Levin is open to the idea of transferring Taliban members to Qatar, but said the devil was in the details.

"It depends on what assurances we have from the [Qatari] government that they are not going to be released," Levin said. "But I also think the Afghans have to be very much involved in any discussions and any process. They weren't for a while."

"We're not releasing them. As I understand it they will be imprisoned in Qatar," Levin continued. But can the Qataris be trusted to keep them behind bars? "That's the question," Levin said.

Note the change in pronoun from "I" to "we"

Levin said he didn't know what the United States was getting in exchange for transferring the prisoners to Qatar, where the Taliban are preparing to open an office. But he said the possible transfer was not a significant concession to the Taliban, provided the prisoners remain in custody. "If that's what [the Taliban] are getting, it's not much of a gain [for them], going from one prison to another."

By stating it is not "much" of a gain; it presupposes that it is a "gain"

McCain, talking to reporters before the briefing, lashed out at the idea that the prisoners would be moved to Qatar in a possible exchange for a Taliban statement renouncing international violence, as has been reported.

"The whole idea that they're going to ‘transfer' these detainees in exchange for a statement by the Taliban? It is really, really bizarre," McCain said. "This whole thing is highly questionable because the Taliban know we are leaving. I know many experts who would say they are rope-a-doping us."

McCain said that Congress probably can't stop the administration from going ahead with the transfer if that's what it decides.

"I don't think right now we can do anything about it, but these people were in positions of authority. One of them was responsible for deaths of several Americans," said McCain, referring to reportsthat the prisoners being considered for transfer include Mullah Khair Khowa, a former interior minister, Noorullah Noori, a former governor in northern Afghanistan, and former army commander Mullah Fazl Akhund.

Is McCain confident that the Qataris will keep the Taliban prisoners locked up? "No I am not. And the Taliban don't think so either, otherwise the Taliban wouldn't want them transferred," he said.

Note the strength of First Person Singular, "I" and the short sentence without qualifiers.

McCain said he was last briefed about the potential deal in December.

Some of the confusion about the negotiations was caused when the State Department's Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman said on Jan. 22 that talks with the Taliban were a long way off and that no deal to transfer prisoners had been finalized. Grossman was in Kabul when he made the statements and he traveled to Qatar the next day.

On Jan. 28, several former members of the Taliban government said that talks with the United States had begun over the prisoner transfer. "Currently there are no peace talks going on,"Maulavi Qalamuddin, the former minister of "vice and virtue" for the Taliban, told The New York Times. "The only thing is the negotiations over release of Taliban prisoners from Guantánamo, which is still under discussion between both sides in Qatar."

Note that for the subject, there is a difference between peace "talks" and "negotiations" over release of prisoners.

At Tuesday morning's open hearing of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Chambliss pressed Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director David Petraeus, and National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) Director Matthew Olsento confirm that the Taliban under consideration for transfer were still viewed as too dangerous to release by the U.S. intelligence community.

"It appears from these reports that in exchange for transferring detainees who had been determined to be too dangerous to transfer by the administration's own Guantánamo review task force, we get little to nothing in return. Apparently, the Taliban will not have to stop fighting our troops and won't even have to stop bombing them with IEDs," Chambliss said. "I have also heard nothing from the IC[intelligence community] that suggests that the assessments on the threat posed by these detainees have changed. I want to state publicly as strongly as I can that we should not transfer these detainees from Guantánamo."

It would be interesting to learn what "little" we would get in return since we know the meaning of the word "nothing."

Clapper said he stood by the original intelligence community assessments, which concluded that the Taliban prisoners at Guantanamo were too dangerous to be released.

"I don't think anyone in the administration harbors any illusions about the potential here," said Clapper. "And of course, part and parcel of such a decision if it were finally made would be the actual determination of where these detainees might go and the conditions in which they would be controlled or surveilled."

The phrase "of course" is used when a subject wishes the listener or reader to take, without question, what is reported as fact.

Olsen, who led the review task force that evaluated the Guantanamo detainees in 2009, confirmed that the 5 prisoners being considered for transfer "were deemed too dangerous to release and who could not be prosecuted," but Olsen said he had not evaluated those five prisoners since then.

Petraeus said that his staff had been asked for a more recent evaluation of the five prisoners and that the CIA completed risk analyses based on different possible conditions for the Taliban prisoners' transfer.

"In fact, our analyst did provide assessments of the five and the risks presented by various scenarios by which they could be sent somewhere, not back to Afghanistan or Pakistan, and then based on the various mitigating measures that could be implemented, to ensure that they could not return to militant activity," Petraeus said

Nancy Grace Takes on DiPietros

Justin DiPietro ducked the media until he finally issued a challenge to Nancy Grace to come to Maine.

By sending in her producers, she has taken him up on the challenge and thus far it isn't going well for the DiPietro clan, including Courtney Roberts.

Feb 1st, Nancy Grace Show covered, and embarrassed, the DiPietro family and sought to raise questions, including one that most readers have been asking since mid-December:

Who was the last reliable person to see Baby Ayla?

Outside of the adults in the home, and the grandmother, who, in particular, was made to look foolish on the show, saw baby Ayla alive?

Marc Klaas was asked why police held back the info. He stuttered and said police were "caught short" by Trista's 'release' of information, not understanding the overall strategy they have been falling, or the short tactics used in behavioral analysis.

Nancy Grace reported that the blood appeared to be have been attempted to be cleaned.

Reports Evidence Shows Clean-up of Missing Maine Toddler`s Blood; Woman Strangled Inside Own Car

NANCY GRACE, HOST: Breaking news tonight, live Maine. 8:00 PM, Daddy puts his 20-month-old baby girl to bed. 9:00 AM, she`s gone, snatched from her own home. Just hours before she disappears, Mommy secretly goes to court, fighting for full custody. It`s confirmed blood found in the basement of Daddy`s home is that of toddler girl Ayla.

Bombshell tonight. That blood found in Daddy`s basement bedroom -- do forensics prove Ayla`s blood actually part of a clean-up? Did somebody try to wipe the little girl`s blood away? As Mommy and Daddy now appear to be friendly again, investigators say they have grave doubts -- quote, "grave doubts" -- Ayla was ever kidnapped. And they say no sign of forced entry. As a matter of fact, we confirm Ayla`s window can`t even be opened from the outside. Tonight, we learn the police timeline in flux. Who can even confirm Ayla really put to bed the night before she goes missing? Tonight, where is baby Ayla?

GRACE: Good evening. I`m Nancy Grace. I want to thank you for being with us. Bombshell tonight. Blood found in Daddy`s basement bedroom. Do forensics prove baby Ayla`s blood actually part of a clean-up? Did someone try to wipe away baby Ayla`s blood?

We are there in Maine with the latest. Joining us, Bonnie Druker there at state police HQ. Bonnie, what do we know about Ayla`s blood in the basement?

BONNIE DRUKER, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: OK. Here we are at police headquarters, Nancy, and we are hearing reports that there was a clean-up of the blood. Of course, we have asked police this, and they will not confirm that.

Now, they also -- there have been reports out there that Ayla is dead, and according to police here, they are saying that is inaccurate, irresponsible and unattributed. They don`t know what happened to Ayla. They`re trying to get to the bottom of this. Of course, Nancy, the longer this investigation goes, the less hope there is.

Grace: Was her blood part of a clean-up? That`s my question!

DRUKER: Yes, Nancy. We understand, according to reports, that her blood was part of the clean-up, and there is a possibility that there was someone else`s blood, as well, a part of that clean-up. Police are not confirming that, Nancy.

GRACE: Joining us there outside State Police headquarters, Bonnie Druker.

Everyone, the turn of events in the search for baby Ayla has made a hairpin turn, as a matter of fact, in the last 24 hours. We learn baby Ayla`s blood found in the basement of the home. We also learn more about that basement itself. It`s largely an unfinished area, but it is primarily -- in fact, all of it is serving as Ayla`s father`s bedroom. The whole area is his bedroom. That is where the blood was found.

Back to Bonnie Druker, standing with us at State Police HQ. Bonnie, where in the basement was the blood? And what have you learned from investigating around the outside of the home?

DRUKER: Well, Nancy, it is a very, very small home, and the blood was found in the basement. That`s all the police are saying at this point. It was...

GRACE: OK, Bonnie...

DRUKER: ... found in the basement.

GRACE: ... let me just ask you some direct questions to try to get some answers here. Number one, could you identify which window was Ayla`s bedroom window?

DRUKER: We could not identify that.

GRACE: Could you see the sides of the home? Did you see the sides of the home?

DRUKER: Yes, we saw the sides of the home.

GRACE: OK. How high up off the ground were the windows?

DRUKER: About five feet.

GRACE: About five feet. So for someone to get in a window like that, you`d basically have to use a ladder to get in. Did you notice any sources of light? Were there security lights on the outside of the home, by chance?

DRUKER: Oh, no, absolutely not, Nancy. No.

GRACE: OK.

DRUKER: No security lights.

GRACE: And on the sides and to the back of the home, is that where people park cars?

DRUKER: Yes.

GRACE: Would people normally be walking around on the sides and the back? So that would not be unusual.

I`m hearing in my ear, now joining us along with Bonnie Druker is spokesman for the Maine State Police Stephen McCausland. Mr. McCausland, thank you for being with us. I guess I should say Officer. You say that there has been a lot of inaccurate reporting, that nobody within the Maine State Police is saying that Ayla is dead. Explain, sir.

The explanation asked for was about the report that police say that Ayla is dead. Please note that all of their releases, since approximately 1 week after the initial report, do not contain statements that would lead the public to believe that Ayla was alive. Police had:

1. An implausible kidnapping story

2. Drugs

3. Refused polygraph; then a failed polygraph.

4. Blood found

STEPHEN MCCAUSLAND, MAINE STATE POLICE: Just what you said, Nancy. That is not terminology we`ve used. There was an unfortunate report out of a Boston TV station last night. We quickly clarified that with our own news release, saying that was inaccurate, irresponsible, and unattributable. And we stand by that.

Note the denial: its not "terminology" we've used.

It's an "unfortunate" report, and

We have "clarified"

None of which is a strong denial. Then the subject quotes the press release (see prior analysis)

Our hope from day one is that we`ll be able to locate baby Ayla safe and return her home. Obviously, as the days grow to weeks, and now, obviously, now in our seventh week, our concern grows, but our hope is still there.

Note the hope was from "day one". We don't know which day that the blood was found, nor the date of the polygraph; only that DiPietro initially refused the polygraph and refused to speak to media.

"Obviously" is used when we want someone to take a fact without question.
GRACE: You know, Stephen, that is our prayer, as well, that baby Ayla come home alive. Officer McCausland, let me ask you -- you`re standing there in the snow. Do you recall the temperature outside the night baby Ayla goes missing? The original theory was that maybe she had walked outside and wandered off on her own. I find that extremely implausible.

How sensitive is this to the subject? Note that repetition indicates sensitivity. Whatever is repeated is important as it shows sensitivity:

MCCAUSLAND: This was on the night of December 16th into the morning of December 17th. I don`t remember the temperatures, but in Maine, we`ve had a fairly mild winter up here. But obviously, the little girl did not wander out of that home. We dispelled that rumor on week two. And obviously, in the last few days, we`ve obviously stated up front we have serious doubts that an abduction ever took place.

Please note the word "obviously" is used three times in two sentences. It is the "obvious" that is sensitive to the subject. Ayla did not walk out of the home, and with failed polygraphs and blood, it leaves only the "obvious" even if it is unstated. Next, take in the interviews that were conducted where police concluded that Justin DiPietro, Elisha DiPietro, and Courtney Roberts withheld information.

They withheld information because they needed to withheld information. This all becomes "obvious."

If a detective slipped the obvious to a reporter from Boston, police jumped on it heavily as they wish to control the information for good reason: behavioral analysis.

When a child goes missing, parents do not need instruction. They do not need any advice.

Instinctively, they look for their child, pass polygraphs, tell the truth, and do whatever it is that they can to get their child back.

When a parent needs instruction or coaching, this shows, in Behavioral analysis, the same thing that is evidenced when a parent lies:

The parent that lies has a reason to lie.

The parent who needs 'coaching' has a reason to need coaching.

It is also why police do not want anyone interfering with an investigation, and why they want information to be controlled: they gauge the reaction to the information as a tactic in an overall strategy.

GRACE: Well, we happen to have the temperature. It was about 32 degrees the night that she goes missing. And I know for Maine residents, that`s a balmy, sunny day. But for most of us, we wouldn`t imagine wandering outside in our pajamas and getting lost the way many people attributed to Ayla.

We are taking your calls. But first, I want to go to John DePetro, WPRO host joining us. John, I noticed that the mom and dad seem to be very friendly now. Let`s see some shots of them recently in public, Liz. I would find it very difficult not to take a swing at him. What`s with that, John?

JOHN DEPETRO, WPRO: It`s hard to believe, Nancy, because Trista Reynolds has every reason to be upset. You have the husband -- the father, not the husband but the father, Justin DiPietro, evasive with the truth, not answering questions. It was very surprising for her to embrace him, almost try to put the whole thing past. People were very shocked by that. But she`s very clear. Trista says she wants the truth to come out.
GRACE: Well, I know that`s what she`s saying, but if you take a look at them together, they actually look like a couple.

Wendy Walsh, psychologist, co-host, "The Doctors," if you could weigh in quickly before we have to go to break. You know, I know she may be staying on friendly terms with him to advance the investigation, but that was a heck of an act.

WENDY WALSH, PSYCHOLOGIST: It was a heck of an act. But you`ve got to remember, Nancy, this is a very emotionally confusing time for both of them, and people tend to reach out even to killers at a time when they`re - - when they`re confused. And she`s going through a lot, so who knows what...

Years of substance abuse followed years of dysfunction and neglect while growing up led to this.

GRACE: Unleash the lawyers. Raymond Giudice, defense attorney, Randy Kessler, defense attorney joining us out of the Atlanta jurisdiction. Giudice, I want you to take a listen in a moment to what the daddy had to say. He basically says, you know, I`m not saying -- I ain`t saying nothing about nothing. And he shows up in the T-shirt with Ayla on the front of it. But what we know is that when he was shown the crime scene photos of the blood in the basement, he gets up from the table, literally, and runs out of the police station, Ray. Thoughts?

RAYMOND GIUDICE, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Look, I`m not -- here`s my thought. He should have an attorney who would not have put him in that position...

GRACE: Is that all you think about?

GIUDICE: ... both of those positions. Yes, it is what I think about because under the constitutional way our system works, I defend people who are in trouble. So that`s all I think about.

GRACE: Yes. OK. Great, great, great, great. OK. I was trying to get more at the truth.

Only in America do we not only concern ourselves with parental rights over a missing child, but we make money off of it.

Back to Stephen McCausland joining us there at police headquarters -- Stephen McCausland, Maine State Police spokesperson. Stephen, since the daddy ran out of the police station, has he given a comment on the crime scene photos of Ayla`s blood in the basement?

MCCAUSLAND: We`ve talked to Justin on a number of occasions. When we`ve called him, he`s talked to us, and we hope that dialogue will continue.

GRACE: Mr. McCausland, why do you, if you do believe, the blood indicates there was a clean-up?

MCCAUSLAND: I`ve never said that, Nancy. You`re the one that`s saying that. All we`ve confirmed is that there was blood found in the basement and that blood is Ayla`s.

Statement Analysis teaches that when a question is asked and not answered, the question itself is sensitive. Note the sensitivity not simply from avoidance, but in the pronoun change showing weakness, going from the strong "I"; to the weak, "we". This follows directly after someone leaked to the Boston media the "obvious" but not "official"; that Ayla is dead.

GRACE: Well, Stephen, are we wrong in saying it is indicative of a clean-up?

MCCAUSLAND: Again, that is terminology we have never talked about.

GRACE: Why not? Why not answer any questions? Joining me is Marc Klaas, president and founder of Klaas Kids Foundation. He faced a similar situation when his daughter, Polly, went missing. And he didn`t just answer the questions, he did backflips to make police move on from him as a suspect, the father, to the real perpetrator in that case.

Why, Marc? Why? You just spoke to Ayla`s father. Why is he so adamantly not answering questions?

MARC KLAAS, KLAAS KIDS FOUNDATION (via telephone): Well, I think there`s two things going on here. First of all, he`s got no duty or obligation to answer public questions. He does have a duty and an obligation to answer law enforcement questions.

please note that the questions from the public and the questions from law enforcement are the same:

Where is Ayla?

What did you do?

Why do you lie?

And I think the big question here is if Justin knew that there was amounts of -- copious amounts of Ayla`s blood in the basement, did he share that information with law enforcement, and was he able to explain it?

The police already reported that the police showed him crime scene photos and he walked out.

Now, I`d also like to address something. When you`re confronted with evidence but not proof that your loved one is dead, you`re going to react viscerally. I did. I`ve seen others do it. And I understand that Justin has done it, as well. When they told me that I had to get used to the idea that Polly was dead, I became very confrontational. And in fact, I started throwing furniture in the police chief`s office.

In speaking about the "visceral" reaction note the use of 2nd person language, until he makes it personal and changes to "I" in the first person. This is stronger.

Next note that he cannot say that Justin reacted this way, instead says "And I understand that Justin..."

the sentence begins with "And", indicating missing information.

Note that he only "understands" and not that he knows. This is a very weak assertion.

The blood was cleaned up, and would not be a surprise to DiPietro. DiPietro walked out of the police station when he learned that luminal showed that he failed to clean up blood: Ayla's blood.

It is disingenuous for Klass to attempt to report that DiPietro had this form of emotional reaction. He does not know so he is reduced to subtle deception: he understands; not "Justin reacted..." or " I know Justin reacted..." after his numerous "communications" with DiPietro.

Police showed him the crime scene photo for a reason.

Maine State Police and Waterville Police worked closely with the FBI, who have accumulated huge amounts of data for Statement Analysis, Behavioral Analysis, and specifically: the behavioral reactions of guilty parents. They knew exactly what they were doing when they showed him the photos.

They seek a confession and seek to find Ayla. This is their goal. It is something that does not appear to be understood by the subject:

Much more recently, I`ve seen a family that was confronted with the same kind of information, and they retreated very quickly and started to get very angry and really broke down their relationship with law enforcement, although it was later repaired.

Note the additional and sensitive words that he uses in an attempt to persuade. It is this type of reasoning (with the need to qualify) that shows why police do not like Klaas getting involved. He impedes investigations while seeking free publicity for his foundation. It is a harsh way to conduct business.

When the mother of missing 13 year old Hailey Dunn from Texas did not speak to her "missing" daughter, which is a natural instinct of all innocent mothers, of all educations and backgrounds, it was duly noted by law enforcement as a consistent part of behavioral analysis. Marc Klaas took it upon himself, in a very public manner, to "coach" her how to, in which she then 'addressed' her 'missing' child. On the Nancy Grace Show, he harshly criticized those who observed the flat affect of the mother, only to later call upon public "shame" on the mother.

His recent calling of the police's behavior as "abysmal" shows that he continues to put self publicity before analytical investigating, and that he has not learned any lessons from past interference.

So the idea that Justin reacted in any particular way to this information that there was luminol and blood -- luminol discovered blood in the basement, I think unless you`ve been there, it`s really hard to judge that reaction, and I think we need to withhold that for the moment. And I`m not trying to defend this guy in any way. I think he`s handling himself pitifully, and I suspect that he probably does know much more than he`s telling in this case.

This is called playing it both ways.

Note that "it's really hard to judge"

Note "I think" changes to what "we" need to do, showing weakness of assertion

Note that which is reported in the negative: he is "not trying to defend"

Note Justin DiPietro is "this" guy; not "that" guy; indicating closeness.

"He probably knows much more than he is telling" is placed versus failed polygraph, implausible story and press release that police said he and the other two were withholding information. Note that this is soft language while a child is missing and the subject claims that he has no obligation to his fellow citizens; Ayla's fellow citizens.

Note that he advised someone who police have said has lied about what happened.

He should not interfere with police work, but step back and seek exposure for his foundation in other ways. When our show sought to interview Trista Reynolds, she gave the list of topics not to be discussed. Questioning her would have likely led to 'leakage' where she begins talking, and ends up saying more than police may have wanted her to. We cancelled the interview so as not to interfere, even in the slightest way, with police work. Klaas should do the same.

GRACE: We are taking your calls. Bombshell tonight. Not only is baby Ayla`s blood found in the basement of her father, which is essentially his bedroom, now suggestions that blood is, in fact, part of a clean-up. Does the evidence show the blood was wiped away? Did someone actually try to move baby Ayla`s blood or remove it?

Joining me, along with Bonnie Druker, Stephen McCausland joining us, spokesman for the Maine State Police. Mr. McCausland, again, thank you for being with us.

I understand what Marc Klaas is saying. I recall the first time I saw my fiance`s bloody clothes, I had a very disturbing reaction. I understand that.

We also understand that because it is part of behavioral analysis. It is why forensic interviews includes such things as photographic evidence.

But I want to go back to the forensics and not put all my eggs in one basket, and that is the demeanor of the father, who is not named a suspect at this time. Mr. McCausland, as to the blood in the basement, when I asked you was I wrong in reporting that it looked as if it had been wiped away, there was a smear mark of some form, maybe even picked up by luminol, is that inaccurate?

MCCAUSLAND: Nancy, I addressed this question both yesterday in our interview and today. We`ve confirmed there`s blood and we`ve confirmed it`s Ayla`s. We have not gotten into any more details...

GRACE: OK.

MCCAUSLAND: ... and I`m not going to tonight as well. There are some things I can talk about, and there are some things I can`t, and I`m sure you understand that.

GRACE: I do. I do, Stephen. With us, Ken Altshuler, WGAN "Morning News With Ken and Mike." Ken, I`m very disturbed about the timeline itself. We are getting conflicting reports. All along, we have been presented with a timeline that established baby Ayla put to bed the night before she goes missing around 8:00 PM. Did anybody other than the father or people in that home corroborate the jumping-off point, that she was, in fact, alive and spotted the night before?

KEN ALTSHULER, WGAN "MORNING NEWS WITH KEN AND MIKE" (via telephone): Nancy, you`re very right to be dubious. The last time we know that maybe she was around, Ayla had a doctor`s appointment for her broken arm on December 8th, and Justin DiPietro canceled the doctor`s appointment. Nobody has reported seeing her after that date.

GRACE: Stephen McCausland, I want to ask you also about the three people there in the home. The timeline that we have been presented starts with the evening before that she`s reported missing, that around 8:00 PM, she`s put to bed by her father. And I`m just wondering, Mr. McCausland, did anyone else corroborate that, or is he the only one establishing that timeline? When did anyone outside of that home last see baby Ayla alive?

MCCAUSLAND: Good questions, an most of those are investigative details we`re not going to get into. We`re going under the premise that little Ayla was there that night.

This has likely been a highly complicated aspect of the investigation:

When did someone other than the family see Ayla alive?

This is a critical question.

Having methodically collected evidence, Maine State Police moved on to the theatrics of presentation: attempted reenactments of a kidnapping.

But this was done after the FBI's kidnapping experts left Maine.

Why did they bother?

Maine State Police knows what it is doing; inch by inch, moment by moment, and after exhausting every possible kidnapping scenario and finding not a single sliver of evidence to fit that theory they have now put public pressure upon Justin DiPietro, Courtney Roberts and Elisha DiPietro, lawyered up or not.

They are ready to take what they have, and present it to a Grand Jury.

WATERVILLE, Maine -- A lot of attention has been given in recent days to the blood found in the basement of the home where Ayla Reynolds was last seen.

Justin DiPietro reported his daughter missing from his Violette Avenue home on Dec. 17.

Flyers are still hanging on storefront windows, as Waterville hangs on to the dwindling hope that Ayla will be found alive.

Joy Higgins, of Oakland, calls the case tragic.

At the Mini Barn Restaurant, owner Melissa Logan says she is still offering free dinners to law enforcement officials and those who volunteer to search for Ayla.

State police confirm there will be more searches and more dive operations, but none are scheduled as of Tuesday afternoon.

"We have pounded on doors. We've interviewed hundreds and hundreds of people," said Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland.

Among the doors they pounded were those belonging to registered sex offenders.

"That was one thing that was looked at very early on," McCausland said.

According to the state's sex offender registry, there are 64 sex offenders living in Waterville.

News 8 also learned Tuesday that a home across the street from DiPietro's Violette Avenue home was searched in the early stages of the investigation. Other vacant homes and buildings were also searched.

Police are putting pressure on the last people to see Ayla: her father, his girlfriend, Courtney Roberts, and DiPietro's sister, Elisha DiPietro.

"We think there are still people out there that have specific information that they haven't told us. Not only the three individuals in the home, but there may be others. One call can crack this case wide-open and we're waiting for that call," McCausland said.

The "worst managed case"? Family, police and media are behaving "abysmally"?

This is the same man who wrote that speculation in this case was "chasing shadows" last week, but now that The Nancy Grace Show is covering it, it appears that speculation on his part is appropriate.

Marc Klaas ought to save his criticism for the family members who have lied and failed polygraph and not blame Maine State Police, Waterville Police, nor media.

I have found media coverage to be fair minded, and from what I know regarding local investigation, police (including FBI, Maine State, and local) have done an excellent job in building a case against the household members. They have been releasing information slowly and carefully, courting DiPietro, giving him opportunity after opportunity to come forward. This is not something that makes for great TV drama, but it does make for case solving.

Is this legitimate criticism, or is Klaas doing some shameless self promoting for his television appearance on Nancy Grace tonight?

In another missing persons case, Marc Klaas attacked those who questioned the mother of missing 13 year old, Hailey Dunn, whom he praised as courageous. Then, police released their affidavit and he quickly changed his tune and condemned Billie Dunn.

He is quick to harshly condemn those he does not agree with him.

Police do not respect his coaching of guilty parents.

Parents of missing children do not need instructional books nor coaching. They simply need to do what parents do: react.

Innocent parents instinctively tell the truth. They do not need to be coached, or convinced to cry on cue. They do not need to be encouraged to be in contact with police, nor do they even need to be told to tell the truth.

Police monitor parents' behavior. This is called "Behavioral Analysis" and it is part of the investigatory process. When someone like Klaas coaches parents, he interferes with this investigatory process.

Maine State Police do not need his criticism. He who wanted speculation to end just weeks ago, now is openly adding his voice to speculation, speaking about "dysfunction" of the family, and offering his opinions; that is, doing what he condemns in others.

If this is done simply to promote a show he is appearing on, it is he who should be ashamed.

Maine State Police have not acted "abysmally" in anything.

They are desperately searching for a child, including braving freezing water temperatures, extreme wind and temperatures, growing frustration and exhaustion, while Marc Klaas promotes his foundation on television, using criticism and exaggerated language to do so.

His insults of police will not help find Ayla. Those on the front lines who are losing sleep, night after night, trying to solve this case, or find Ayla, will only be discouraged by his calloused remark.

Marc Klaas should apologize to Maine State Police.

I like videos, even though so many of you send them to me asking for analysis only to receive the response that in order to do the analysis, I will have to have transcripts and don't have the time to transcribe video.

Here is a video of the President of the United States talking with a woman who's husband cannot find a permanent job in his field.

The video is being used by anti-Obama and pro-Obama (note the order; more are using it anti) supporters. The video allows you to decide for yourself, even though the various articles use headlines that attempt to interpret for you. It is just another example as to why Statement Analysis is so useful.

I recognize that among readership, there are strong emotions attached to politics. In spite of this, I don't ignore political statements for analysis because they are often rich with examples of deception, regardless of which party they come from. I do the same analysis on one party or another, yet outside of an election year, the party in power will provide more samples for us here.

We are all subject to "leakage"; that is, identifying information about ourselves, found in our words. My political and religious views, for example, are not exempt from analysis, and at times, can cloud my judgement. Investigators, like journalists, counselors, parents, and so many others, must have the intellectual integrity to know that 'wiping our fingerpints' out of any topic is a challenge, but it is something that must be done.

Crosby had been seeking medical relief from a chiropractor. Does this explain the sensitivity indicators?

Crosby, a world class talent, has had his career shadowed by criticism of immaturity, and unsportsmanlike conduct, called "diving" in hockey. This is where a player embellishes on the ice to persuade the referee to give his team an advantage. The alleged embellishments have been published many times on You Tube. There is also the reports (and video) from his rookie season where he is seen screaming, as an 18 year old, at veteran Petr Fosberg, and at referees. This gave him a reputation as a "whiner", "crybaby" and "diver" (from "diving" to the ice in order to feign hits), which some, on You Tube, show wild throwing back of his head where there was no actual contact visible on the video angles.

Many complaints have been published that as the league seeks to earn money for itself, and promote its stars, Crosby has received preferential treatment from both the referees and the league.

One report stated that in his rookie season, during practice, he had to be protected from some of his teammates.

There is also the powerful element of envy that should be examined in the various cases. Crosby's talent, like his reputation for cheating and complaining, go back to his early teens, and has always been reported to have been the subject of jealousy.

PITTSBURGH -- The news that sidelined Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby may have played with two damaged vertebrae in his neck caused a major stir during the NHL all-star weekend, but Penguins coach Dan Bylsma insisted his captain is not unhappy with the team's medical staff.

Crosby pushed himself during a contact-free but demanding 45-minute workout Monday, only days after learning he had a potentially serious neck injury in addition to a concussion.

"I feel, Sidney feels, he's gotten every possible support from the Penguins and the Penguins' medical staff in the situation he's in, to try to find an answer to where he's at, what his condition is, what is his best road for recovery," Bylsma said. "He's gotten every available support from both the Penguins and from our medical staff and going other places and getting medical treatment. That's how we feel about it and I know Sidney feels the same way."

Statement Analysis teaches to trust the pronouns; they are instinctive and can pre-date discernible speech in humans. Note the change from "I" to "Sidney feels" to "we". Note also the change in language from "every possible" to "every available" support; indicating a sensitivity regarding support. Note "other places" is not "other medical..." nor is it "other doctors", etc. "Other places" is separate from "medical treatment" which may be about chiropractic care while having injured vertebrae. Note "that" shows distancing regarding how "we" feel. The topic of support and the medical treatment is a sensitive one to the subject as he attempts to persuade.

Note that the subject enters into the emotions of another.

Teammates said Crosby's extensive workout with two other injured teammates was easily his best since he last played on Dec. 5 -- he has practised only once since then -- and offered hope that the NHL's biggest star might return this season.

If only they knew when.

An unidentified third-party physician is currently reviewing Crosby's case and, until his findings are revealed, the Penguins do not know much longer their superstar will be further sidelined. He has played only eight games since Jan. 5, 2011.

"Physically he's looked a lot better the last couple of weeks," defenceman Brooks Orpik said. "He looks a lot more upbeat. And if that's the case, maybe he can put some of this stuff behind him and move forward without any precaution, I guess."

Here we see the subject compares how Crosby looks now, compared to previously. Note the additional quip "I guess" reducing commitment to the assertion. Prior reports showed unnamed teammates questioning whether Crosby had been as hurt as described with one teammate stating belief that he could have played much earlier than he did. Knowing this, readers should be on alert to see if any statements from teammates show sensitivity regarding team support, loyalty, closeness, etc.

Despite Crosby's two extended layoffs since he was first sidelined with a concussion nearly 13 months ago, Bylsma said there hasn't been any guessing about Crosby's condition.

Still, numerous Penguins fans were alarmed and upset that Crosby sustained the neck injury at some point in addition to at least one concussion and possibly another, and they questioned why it took so long for it to be discovered. The Penguins themselves did not know of the neck injury until it was diagnosed last week by Dr. Robert S. Bray, a California-based neurological spine specialist.

Bray told Crosby that the neck injury has healed, and the Penguins almost certainly would not have allowed Crosby to work out Monday with injured teammates Jordan Staal and Simon Despres if it hadn't.

Crosby did not speak to reporters after he skated hard, fast and for extended stretches and took part in shooting and conditioning drills before a full-team practice at Consol Energy Center.

Crosby worked, according to Bylsma, "at a pretty good clip."

Bylsma acknowledged that, for as good as he looked Monday, Crosby is "nowhere close" to being cleared for contact.

Crosby is known to have consulted this season with at least three outside medical specialists, in Florida, Utah and California, in addition to the Penguins' doctors and his own concussion specialists in Pittsburgh.

While Crosby has been skating on his on for several weeks, Monday marked the first time he has taken the ice with teammates since he worked out with the Penguins during a two-game Florida road trip in mid-January.

Pittsburgh hosts Toronto on Tuesday, and it will be the 22nd game Crosby has missed during his latest concussion-related layoff. He also missed the Penguins' final 41 games last season and their first 20 this season.

"Everybody in this room loves Sid and he just deserves our support," defenceman Kris Letang said. "It's great to know when something is wrong what is going on and maybe now he can really focus on getting back and treated (for) whatever is wrong."

Note that extra words are those in which a sentence will work without their inclusion. Extra words give us additional information. "in this room" is extra, indicating that there are likely those that are not "in this room" at the time the subject spoke, does not "love Sid." Note the qualifiers of "maybe" and "really" weaken the statement, but not only does he talk about getting "back" but "treated." This is out of chronological order. Note also that "treated" is not only out of chronological order, but sensitive since a player who is "back" has been "treated." This may indicate that the subject does not believe that the "treatment" Crosby insisted upon, from the chiropractor, was appropriate. Still, neither Bylsma, general manager Ray Shero nor the Penguins know exactly when Crosby's latest comeback will occur. It's the same exasperating wait-and-see situation the Penguins have found themselves in for all but two weeks over the last one-plus years.

Former Los Angeles teacher charged with molesting 23 children

LOS ANGELES – A U.S. school teacher bound and gagged nearly two dozen children, put cockroaches on some of their faces and posed in photos with them, possibly inside a classroom, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday.

A department statement said Mark Berndt, 61, was arrested Monday and remained jailed Tuesday on $2.3 million bail. The district attorney's office said Berndt has been charged with committing lewd acts with 23 boys and girls ages 7 to 10.

The investigation began when a film processor gave authorities about 40 photographs depicting blindfolded children in a classroom with their mouths taped shut.

Some of the photos showed girls with what appears to be a spoon up to their mouths as if they were going to ingest a clear-white liquid. A spoon and container found in trash in Berndt's classroom tested positive for semen, the sheriff's department statement said.

Some of the children's mouths and faces had large, live Madagascar-type cockroaches on them, according to the statement.

Some photos showed Berndt with his arm around the children or with his hand over their mouths.

"It makes you sick to your stomach," Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent John Deasy told KTTV Fox 11 News, which first reported the arrest. Using "you" is distancing language. The topic itself provides enough reason to use distancing language.

Berndt is charged with committing lewd acts between 2008 and 2010. He worked for more than 30 years at Miramonte Elementary School in south Los Angeles.

He was immediately removed and fired when police informed the school district, Deasy said.
No student came forward to report the abuse, he said.

The sheriff's department said a search warrant served on Berndt's home led to the discovery of more than 100 similar photographs depicting children.

A DVD depicting adult sexual bondage activity "which mirrored the bondage-type photos of the children" was also found during the search, the department said, noting that those images are not a crime.

The department said about 10 children seen in photos have not been identified

SALT LAKE CITY -- A new website from the family of Josh Powell is blasting the investigation into the disappearance of Susan Cox Powell. It claims investigators haven't looked into other family members closely enough and that Powell's children are in danger while they're in the care of the Cox family.

"These children were willfully ripped from the safe and loving home they lived in with their father and were intentionally placed in an abusive household," where one of the boys has been subjected to repeated abuse, the site alleges.

The site includes a string of links to documents and news stories and says the police have bungled the investigation, while child protective service workers have ignored the children's peril.

"It doesn't surprise me because they're going to try and do stuff to take the eyes off them and put it on somebody else and make themselves look a little better," said Jennifer Graves, Josh and Michael Powell's sister, who reiterated she wants the boys to continue to stay with the Coxes. "They're trying to make Josh look better so he can get his kids back, obviously."

Josh Powell's brother, Michael, wrote in his blog that he has reason to believe the West Valley Police department has overlooked viable leads, "probably intentionally, including Steven Koecher, Tim Peterson, Chuck Cox, and (Powell's estranged sister) Jennifer Graves."

The Powell family must conclude that law enforcement, judges, doctors, and child protective workers all conspired together against Josh Powell. What motive might lead all of them, collectively, to do so? It is this type of ridicule that has marked the statements of Steve and Josh Powell, with Steve giving more sample, showing his own perversion leading up to his arrest. Please see prior analysis.

"Should they be looking at me?" said Graves "I'm sure that they've looked at me and everyone else that has ever known Susan."

Graves says she has had open lines of communication with investigators, unlike her brother, Joshua. She claims her estranged brother is only willing to speak with the West Valley City Police Department under certain conditions.

"I'm not hiding, unlike my brother, who has avoided police contact, won't do any more interviews [and] tries to bargain with the police department," Graves said.

The website and the allegations came just two days before to a scheduled custody hearing in Pierce county.

The website purports to illustrate what Michael Powell calls "incompetence and malice" by the West Valley Police Department. Michael Powell wrote, "The WVCPD has slandered the Powell family through a bizarre effort to cover up endeavors on our part to aid in the search for Josh's wife."

Please note: "malice" shows conspiratorial consent.

Please note the avoidance of Susan's name. For those new to this blog, please note that out of respect to Chuck Cox, Susan is referred to only as "Susan Cox" here.

He also blasts their searches in Ely, Nevada, and by the Topaz Mountain, in which police, at first, claimed they had made major findings, but couldn't show anything significant later. Powell wrote, "I believe the Ely stunt was designed to disrupt the Powell's' attempt to gain protection from Chuck Cox and his ongoing harassment and death threats against Josh and the rest of my family (our protection order was granted nonetheless)."

Graves defends these searches by saying a lot of new information came out since then, including pictures which led to voyeurism charges against her father, Steven Powell.

"They were able to pull a lot of stuff out of that house and my dad was arrested for a very nasty crime," Graves said.

Graves grew up in this perverted home and appears to have escaped from its grasp.

The website also says the Powell children, Braden and Charlie, are in danger while living in the Cox home, and have been injured while living there. He claims Braden may be disfigured after his foot somehow went into a pot of boiling water placed on the floor.

"From the other witnesses that were already there and who witnessed the incidents, Michael is blowing it way out of proportion," Graves said.

Graves is likely prepared to testify if need be.

Susan (Cox) has not been seen since early December 2009 when her husband, Josh Powell, said he left their home to take the two young boys on a camping trip in the west desert of Utah. Josh Powell is the only person of interest police have identified in the case.

In 2011, after Josh Powell moved to Washington to live with his father, Steve Powell, the older man was arrested on suspicion of child pornography and voyeurism. Police say they found images of women who had been videotaped without their consent, including Susan Powell. He has pleaded not guilty, with a trial set for March.

The website is the latest ugly and emotional turn amid an ongoing criminal case that has pitted individuals in families against each other and spawned multiple civil lawsuits, including one by the Coxes against Josh Powell for another website.

Graves said her brother Michael's website with its allegations of abuse against the grandparents and incompetence against the police department is tiresome, annoying and simply a smokescreen.

"They're trying to make it sound as if the Coxes are somehow bad guardians and that the West Valley Police Department hasn't been doing their job properly," she said. "Once you actually start analyzing it, it really doesn't hold water."

How does this happen?

It's not complicated.

The media asks lots of questions and eventually gets an investigator to go off record and say "of course we know she's dead" but without permission from his or her superiors. The superiors then 'blast' the report.

Statement Analysis of the statements of DiPietro indicate that Ayla is dead.
Statement Analysis of the police released statements indicate the same thing. For weeks they have avoided saying anything but wanting to find her, without mentioning anything about being "alive" or "safe" or anything similar.

They know from the lies, the blood, and from the statements that she is dead. Note that even in the 'blasting' there is the weak assertion of hope and the attempt to gently let the public know what they have known from the failed poly and blood: that Ayla is dead.

What did police think that the public would feel when they searched the bottom of rivers and streams? That they had "hope" for Ayla?

State Police blast report:

Maine State Police released a statement tonight blasting a Boston TV station report that police believe 21-month-old Ayla Reynolds is dead as “unattributed, irresponsible and inaccurate."

Note the order:

1. unattributed
2. irresponsible
3. inaccurate

Unattributed means that WCVB did not give up the name of the investigator who leaked the information. This is first in priority: that the report was not quoted with a name.
Irresponsible indicates the anger of police brass
"Inaccurate": what is inaccurate? The death? If those without the benefit of analysis have been listening to police, they have been able to hear for themselves the carefully worded statements that did not give hope that Ayla would be found alive, consistently. It is last that it is called "inaccurate." I imagine that there was an emergency meeting among investigators last night who were severely warned that only brass gets to talk to media.

Citing unnamed police sources, WCVB reported Monday that the missing toddler was believed dead and that the search for her body had intensified. State police spokesman Steve McCausland, however, said in a statement shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday that police "have said from the beginning of this case that we remain hopeful for Ayla Reynold’s safe return, but grow more concerned as time passes."
“Nothing has changed that belief,” McCausland said.

How can one "grow more concerned" when "nothing has changed that belief" over time? In order to grow, there must be change. This is a contradiction and makes the denial unreliable.

This appears more about the control of information than the reality. From the beginning, they did not speak of hope with any strong statements. Last night on the Nancy Grace Show, the same night they issued the condemnation of the media's report:

STEPHEN MCCAUSLAND, SPOKESMAN, MAINE STATE POLICE: It means simply that of the hundreds of pieces of potential evidence that we have seized from inside that home, we had found nothing yet to back up the story of an abduction. And we have grave doubts that that ever happened.

GRACE: Stephen, another question. Part of the blood that was Ayla`s that you found in daddy`s basement, and I`m referring to daddy`s basement, this is mother`s home. You said or it`s been stated was visible to the naked eye, but the other portion was not. It was found by Luminol. Was the blood close together, the blood that was visible and invisible?

MCCAUSLAND: Again, asking for more specifics, Nancy, that I can`t get into. But you are correct, some of the blood was visible. Some of it was detected by Luminol. And that is some of the evidence that we seized from that home along with hundreds of other pieces.

Intimation of washing or cleaning the crime scene.

GRACE: To Susan Candiotti, CNN national correspondent, let me get this straight. So you are in the home and you`re interviewing the grandmother. And when you say, what did you hear, I didn`t hear anything, when did they find out she wasn`t there?

CANDIOTTI: You know, this is interesting. It was the very next morning. We spent a long part of an evening talking with her. The next morning when I went back, because I was supposed to get together with Justin, the very next morning. He was going to take us out to show him putting up posters, this kind of thing, and interviewing him. She instead met me at the door and told me, I didn`t quite tell you everything the night before.

And that`s when she revealed to me on her own, I have to tell you, I wasn`t there. I was somewhere else, and I want you to know that I told police where I was. And she revealed to me off the record where she was.

I was able to confirm with my law enforcement sources that, in fact, she did tell them where she was that night, and it wasn`t at home, and that they talked to -- they were able to confirm it, let`s put it that way.
Note the information that they were "able" to confirm; not that they confirmed. This is the "off record" speak that happens all the time and it is likely what happened with the report of police admitting that Ayla is dead, making the 'condemnation' of media quite a stretch.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

An Orange County teenager accused of attacking a teacher with a hammer has been offered a plea deal, WFTV learned on Monday.

Diana Barfield's lawyer said she has challenged the deal.

Barfield's lawyer, Rosalind Johnson, said her 16-year-old client deserves help, not 18 months in prison.

Prosecutors said they're treating Barfield like an adult because she already served 18 months in juvenile detention in 2009, after two other fistfights.

Johnson said she believes they're trying to make an example out of a child who needs mental help.

In October, Barfield got into a fistfight with another student at Evans High School, and when the assistant principal tried to break it up, she nearly hit him with a hammer, investigators said.

Deputies said they found a knife, a razor and a box-cutter in Barfield's book bag.

At 16, Barfield could go to state prison for 18 months or up to 20 years if she doesn't accept a plea deal from prosecutors.

"A steak knife, a box-cutter, a razor and a shank, why?" WFTV reporter Daralene Jones asked.

"Protection," Barfield replied.

Barfield said she was pressured to join girl gangs.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed there's a problem with gangs in the school, and records show deputies responded to various incidents at Evans High School nearly 1,000 times since 2009.

However, WFTV discovered Barfield also has a temper that she said stems from growing up without her parents.

Barfield's mother abandoned her when she was 5 years old, and her father has been in and out of prison.

"It just makes me mad when holidays come around; Mothers' Day and Father's Day. I mean, I have to be with my grandmother and grandaddy because my parents are not there," Barfield said.

Johnson said prison is not the place for Barfield.

"There's a lot of other issues that need to be addressed, and sending her to prison is not the right way to do that," said Johnson.

Barfield is attending an alternative school since her expulsion from Evans High School.

She said she is still focused on becoming a pediatrician, and receives A's and B's in school.

Barfield will be in court for a pretrial hearing next month.

Police Believe Missing Maine Toddler Dead

Investigators who have spent six weeks looking for 20-month-old Ayla Reynolds believe the missing Maine toddler is dead and have intensified the search for her body, Newscenter 5's Michele McPhee reported Monday.

The toddler's blood was found splattered in the basement of 29 Violette Ave. in the Waterville home where Ayla was staying with her father, Justin DiPietro, Maine State Police said.

Several law enforcement sources said the blood appeared to have been "cleaned up" and that DiPietro left a police station when confronted with luminol-enhanced photos of his daughter's blood splatters taken by crime scene investigators a week after he reported her missing.

"Abduction is no longer a part of this investigation. We have grave doubts that an abduction took place and there is no evidence to support it," Stephen McCausland, spokesman for Maine Department of Public Safety, told Newscenter 5.

"We are focused on what happened to her in that house. There are three people in the house that have not been truthful. Their story does not pass the smell test," he said.

Law enforcement sources told McPhee that those people are Justin DiPietro, his girlfriend, Courtney Roberts, 24, and his sister, Alisha DiPietro, 19.

McCausland confirmed that the people in the house on the night Ayla was last seen took lie-detector tests, "and they know the results."

A statement appeared Monday on a website created by Ayla's mother, Trista Reynolds, saying that police told the girl's family that "more blood than a small cut would produce" was recovered in the basement.

"We urge anyone that has information about Ayla to come forward now and unburden yourself of the truth," the statement read. "Even in light of this evidence we are more determined than ever to find out what happened to Ayla and cling to the hope that she is still alive and will be returned to us."

Police do not believe Ayla is alive.

What started as a missing person case on Dec. 17, after DiPietro told police he put his daughter to bed and woke up to find her gone, is now a criminal investigation.

DiPietro claimed she had been kidnapped, a theory that has been dismissed as implausible by the multi-agency task force investigating the girl's disappearance.

A window taken from the Violette Avenue bedroom where Justin DiPietro claimed his daughter was sleeping did not appear to be tampered with and could not be opened from the outside, law enforcement sources said.

Justin DiPietro declined to comment Monday, brushing past an Associated Press reporter outside his house without addressing questions before going inside and emphatically closing the door.

Investigators have been scouring the remote woods of Maine looking for the toddler's body. On Jan. 12, more than a dozen police divers searched an icy river near the house that Justin DiPietro lives in, but found nothing.

Last month, officials drained Maine's Messalonskee Stream so that police could search it on foot and by air overhead, which also proved fruitless.

DiPietro has denied any involvement in his daughter's disappearance. He did admit to accidentally breaking his daughter's arm weeks before he reported her missing.

He canceled a follow-up appointment with his daughter's doctor on Dec. 12, Trista Reynolds' sister, Jessica, told Newscenter 5.

"Justin knows what happened to my niece and he hasn't spoken to us since she went missing," Jessica Reynolds said.

Ayla had been living with her father since November after her mother checked herself into a rehab.

Elisha DiPietro: Immunity Deal?

Police are increasing the public pressure upon Justin DiPietro, Courtney Roberts, and Elisha DiPietro to stop withholding information on the foul play that Ayla Reynolds, 19 months, met last December.

Slowly, but with increasing volume, police are revealing more and more about the lies the three have told, the polygraphs, and the splattered blood.

The "Waterville Three" have conspired together, police believe, to concoct a phony kidnapping story to cover up the evidence of a crime; a crime in which the blood of an innocent was spilled, and her body disposed of in the most cruelest of manner.

Which one is the weak link? It isn't hard to figure out.

Police report that they have explored every possible facet of a kidnapping, and were unable to find a single piece of evidence to support a kidnapping theory. This type of work is often done in preparation for a Grand Jury presentation in which jurors are allowed to ask police questions.

The very public statements, including the confirmation of the news that the blood found belonged to Ayla, was clearly timed to coincide with the vigil for Ayla, which DiPietro attended, with the expectation that reporters would ask him questions. DiPietro refused to respond.

DiPietro supporters angered commentators as they disparaged police, ridiculed evidence, and minimized blood found. One such supporter wrote how she neglected her own sick child, for 2 hours, just to be online and delete comments, adding that her family 'cuts themsevlves' all the time. Another stated that someone might have "cut themselves shaving"; comments that antoganized an increasingly impatient public.

Combine this with the public statement that the three adults in the home are withholding information and it is understandable that a public, who at times has shown more care and emotion for Ayla than family, would react with such anger.

DiPietro and Roberts continue to hold out.

"No proof" is a phrase of the guilty; not the innocent. The innocent say "I didn't do it" while the guilty say "you haven't proven it." with the acknowledgement that "it" exists.

As police increase the public pressure upon DiPietro and Roberts, they, along with aunt, Elisha DiPietro, must place their bets:

1. Are police preparing a careful presentation for a Grand Jury? If so, are these carefully scripted statements opportunities to make a deal?
2. Are police getting desperate and are reduced to making public statements?

This is the gamble; the roll of the dice that DiPietro may base his life upon. But for Roberts and Elisha DiPietro, their childrens' futures are also riding on these gambles.

The one who must make a deal...

It is almost impossible for three people to share a secret. It is difficult enough for 2, even when they are romantically involved, but how would Roberts and Justin DiPietro keep Elisha silent?

What if Elisha DiPietro fears for her own child?

What if prosecutors offer her immunity in exchange for:

1. Testifying against her brother and Courtney Roberts;
2. Location of Ayla's Remains

If Courtney Roberts was strong enough to raise a son in an apartment where the drug trade was so highly engaged that there was large quantities of oxycontin, cocaine, and marijuana, she is likely a fairly tough, cold, and hard individual, less likely to talk.

Justin DiPietro does not appear to be of high intelligence, but is limited, vindictive, and small minded, as he refused to speak to media until he was the recipient of an insult from Trista Reynolds about "hiding"; only then did he come out and insist that he had text messages proving Trista lied; as if this mattered when compared to a missing child. Uneducated and surrounded by drugs, he may not be willing to talk, that is, unless Courtney allows him to.

It is Elisha who appears to have the most to lose. She is the one who wanted to rise above the world of drugs and poverty and raise her child in love and security. Maybe it is that Elisha didn't want Courtney moving in with her brother. Maybe Elisha didn't want her son to be around a hardened and fast talking drug dealer. Maybe she feels guilty, having been bullied into silence, after telling her brother and his girlfriend to 'take it downstairs' never believing that Ayla would be caught up in the world of drug withdrawal violence where a baby's blood was splattered.

Maybe she wanted more for her child, and as a mother, is willing to testify against Justin and Courtney, in order to save herself and her child.

Maybe.

Maybe prosecutors will offer her immunity. Maybe this is why the police are releasing the info now.

Maybe she should call tonight and offer up what she knows, and allow her niece to be properly buried.

Otherwise, as police have publicly called her out for being deceptive...she is facing prison, and losing custody of her child.

Elisha, is it worth it?

Is it worth keeping silent, as you can see how police are slowly and carefully constructing a presentation to a Grand Jury in which your lies and the lies of the other two will be exposed?

Do you want that on your conscience?

Are you willing to see your child taken from you, while you spend years in prison?

Elisha DiPietro has much to think about.

Police: No Evidence of Ayla Being Abducted

It is hard enough for two; even if the two are married or romantically involved. But three?

It is unlikely.

Police released information about the blood by timing the release to coincide with the vigil knowing that local media may ask questions of DiPietro.

Maine State Police know what they are doing.

Please take note of the videos that accompany the local reporting websites: they do not accurately report quotes made by Trista Reynolds or Justin DiPietro. They clean up the stuttering "I's, for example; something that is used in analysis as an anxiety scale. They also remove the word "like" which is in heavy use by Trista Reynolds.

Regarding the Kidnapping Information:

Police did what they should have done:

1. Took Justin DiPietro, Courtney Roberts, and Elisha DiPietro at their word.

2. They reported a kidnapping of Ayla Reynolds.

3. Police investigated the possibilities of kidnapping; seeking anything that might show that the Waterville Three were telling the truth.

Police found that the three were not truthful.

The three will likely face charges and can start with making a false report, lying to police, and move on to far greater charges, in light of Ayla's spilled blood in the home.

Investigators: No evidence Ayla Reynolds was abducted

WATERVILLE — Police who confirmed the discovery of blood from a missing toddler in the basement of her father's home said today that they've found no evidence to support an abduction and that they believe adults in the home know more than what they're telling investigators.

Six weeks after Ayla Reynold's disappearance, state and local detectives believe the father, Justin DiPietro, and two other adults in the home on the night Ayla was last seen are not giving a full account of what happened, said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The idea that someone sneaked into the small house and took Ayla without awakening any of the adults "doesn't pass the straight-face test," McCausland said.

"We've followed every conceivable piece of evidence that would follow their version of events, and we have found not one piece of evidence that supports an abduction," he said.

Note "conceivable"; this indicates that they presupposed that they were told the truth, and acted upon it and ran through every scenario they could come up with, seeking even the slightest bit of evidence that might support a kidnapping. This means that when they exhausted all scenarios, they were left with the only logical conclusion: the three adults in the house lied. The scenarios, and how they might have happened, will likely be presented to a Grand Jury against each of the three adults in the house.

"Not one..." Note that which is presented in the negative as highly important.

Ayla was 20 months old when she disappeared on the night of Dec. 16. She had been staying with her father at the time in the Waterville house where DiPietro lives with his mother. Ayla's mother, Trista Reynolds, lives in Portland.

DiPietro reported Ayla missing the following day. He said he'd put her to bed the night before and she wasn't there the next morning.

Over the weekend, state police confirmed that blood was found in the basement where the father slept and that some of the blood was Ayla's. Relatives reported on a family-run website that they were told the blood was "more than a small cut would produce," but police today declined to say how much blood was discovered.

The police have released small bits of information at a time, showing to the three adults in the house that they will put pressure on them, slowly but steadily, giving opportunities for the three to cut a deal. This will not, however, be limitless. Time is short. I do not think it is wise for DiPietro supporters to be insulting law enforcement or minimizing evidence of a missing baby so flippantly as they have. Those on the receiving end of insults are humans.

Forensic specialists (MDs) will weigh in on various cuts to toddlers, and how much bleeding can occur and will do the same thing regarding scenarios of varying injuries.

On the night Ayla was last seen, DiPietro was in the home with his girlfriend, Courtney Roberts, and they slept with Roberts' child in the partially finished basement, McCausland said. DiPietro's sister was sleeping with her young child on the main level of the one-story home, and Ayla was in a bedroom by herself on the main level, McCausland said today. DiPietro's mother was not home that night.

Justin DiPietro declined to comment today, brushing past an Associated Press reporter outside his house without addressing questions before going inside and emphatically closing the door. The AP couldn't find phone numbers for his girlfriend or his sister.

Residents seemed perplexed by the developments, which came after massive searches by game wardens, police, the FBI and divers.

"It sounds like something is fishy to me. Somebody's hiding something," Mike King said today outside City Hall.

Trista Reynolds' father said the family was told late Saturday by McCausland that blood found in the home was Ayla's.

Ronald Reynolds said he's convinced that the adults in DiPietro's house have more information than they have shared.

"Every day, it gets hotter and hotter," he said. "I hope they pull them back in, set them down and give them the opportunity to say something."

The family-run website issued an appeal for anyone with information about Ayla to come forward.

"Even in light of this evidence we are more determined than ever to find out what has happened to Ayla and we still cling to the hope that she is alive and will be returned to us," the website said. "We urge anyone that has information about Ayla to come forward now and unburden yourself of the truth."

(CNN) -- Testing on blood found in the home of a missing Maine toddler has determined that some of it belonged to the girl, police said Sunday.

"The state crime lab confirms some of the blood samples are Ayla's," said Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, referring to young Ayla Reynolds.

The girl's mother, Trista Reynolds, learned of the news Saturday, McCausland said.

A website created by Ayla's family disclosed the police findings in a posting Sunday, saying investigators told them the blood found was "more ... than a small cut would produce."

Police declined to comment on the website posting beyond confirming that testing revealed some of the blood was Ayla's.

Earlier Sunday, McCausland said that while some of the blood found in the home's basement "was visible to the naked eye, some wasn't."

The blood was discovered in the Waterville, Maine, home soon after Ayla was reported missing December 17.

Crime scene investigators used a chemical called Luminol to detect blood that can't otherwise be seen, according to McCausland. Investigators, who disclosed the existence of the blood Saturday, won't say how much of it was found in the residence, or exactly where.

At the same time, police are now publicly casting doubt on the accounts of the three adults -- the toddler's father, her aunt and the father's girlfriend -- who were in the home when the then-20-month old child was last seen -- saying they don't "pass the 'straight-face' test in Maine."

"We feel they know more than they're telling us," McCausland said Saturday. "We don't think we got the full story."

Justin DiPietro, Ayla's father, did not respond to calls from CNN this weekend requesting comment on the latest developments.

McCausland said Sunday that Ayla's father "is still talking to us when we ask him to."

"We've been trying to be diplomatic about his participation, and he talks with us when we ask him questions," the spokesman added.

Justin DiPietro sleeps in the basement of the home, which is owned by his mother, Phoebe DiPietro.

He told police that at 8 p.m. on December 16, he put his daughter to bed in her first-floor bedroom. He called police the next morning just before 9 a.m. to report her missing.

On Sunday, police outlined where everyone was sleeping that night inside the small, one-story home.

Ayla's aunt -- who also lives in the house -- slept with her own daughter in another first-floor bedroom, police said. That bedroom is across the hall from Ayla's room.

Phoebe DiPietro also has a bedroom directly across the hallway from Ayla, but police say she was not home that night.

Justin DiPietro slept in a basement room with his girlfriend and her son, according to McCausland.

Police said the adults told them "someone snuck into the house, went into the bedroom where Ayla was sleeping, and no one heard or saw anything." Yet "there is no evidence that we have found that would point to an abduction," said the state spokesman.

"We don't know what happened other than we know Ayla didn't walk out on her own, and we have grave doubts she was abducted because there were three adults in the home that night (and) it's a very small house," McCausland said.

On Saturday, Ayla's parents appeared together publicly for the first time since their daughter's disappearance to thank those who have tried to help locate Ayla, CNN affiliate WCSH reported.

Ayla's parents were asked about the discovery of blood in the basement. Justin DiPietro declined to answer, saying he only wanted to thank the public for their kindness, the television station reported. The question of blood is sensitive. Was this revealed to his out of state friend?

Trista Reynolds reacted emotionally.

"I'm ready to go knocking at people's door myself because I want to know what happened to my daughter, and I want to know where she is and who took her or just whatever, like everybody else does," she said.

Reynolds told HLN's Nancy Grace last month that she raised Ayla for 18 months, and that DiPietro had become involved after she "needed to go and get a little bit of help for myself." She told HLN she entered rehab.

Justin DiPietro had sole custody of Ayla when she disappeared.

DiPietro has said he would never do anything to harm his daughter.

"I have to believe that Ayla is with somebody, and I just want that person to find the courage to do the right thing and find a way to return her safely," he said in a statement last month.

Extra words give us additional information. Note the weakness in adding with "have to" believe. Since he knows the others in the house, why would have "have to" believe rather than just know?

No one has been arrested in the case, and police have not identified anyone else as a suspect.

"We're not ruling anyone in or anyone out," McCausland said.

McCausland said Saturday that authorities revealed the blood's discovery six weeks into the case because "we need information from the public, and we think this might help."

"The Waterville Three" Face Choices

Justin DiPietro, Elisha DiPietro and Courtney Roberts now all face choices, with the two women having choices that will directly impact their childrens' lives.

To not do anything is a choice, and it may not be the best choice.

The time has come to seek a deal.

The Maine State Police have evidence; "hundreds" of pieces of evidence and have skillfully held information close to the vest and as February rapidly approaches, should the "Waterville Three" decide to roll the dice and allow the evidence to be presented to the Grand Jury, they may live to regret its outcome.

Now is the time to tell the District Attorney where Ayla is and to explain what happened to her.

Police confirmed the information Sunday night. It was first posted earlier Sunday on aylareynolds.com, a website maintained by Ayla's maternal family in Portland.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Sunday night that testing has revealed that at least some of the blood samples that were found in the home during a December search belong to Ayla.

"The testing has not been completed and more work remains, but we have found samples of Ayla's blood," he said.

The site also says that police told the family the amount of blood is "more than a small cut would produce."

McCausland wouldn't say how much blood had been discovered at the home.

It was reported Saturday that police found blood in the house at 29 Violette Ave. when they searched it in December.

The family contended on the website that state police shared the discovery with them, but planned to withhold the information from the media.

McCausland said Sunday police had initially decided to withhold information that the blood belongs to Ayla because police need to perform tests on other samples.

"I prefer not to give out partial results, but (the Reynolds) family has released that tonight, and that information is correct," he said.

Ayla was reported missing the morning of Dec. 17. She was 20 months old at the time.

Justin DiPietro, Ayla's father, declined to comment Sunday.

McCausland wouldn't comment on whether any arrests are pending.

"At this point, we're still working hard to locate Ayla. That's our main priority," he said.

The Reynolds family remains optimistic, according to the site.

The website is maintained by Jeff Hanson, the husband of Ayla's maternal grandmother, Becca Hanson.

"Even in light of this evidence we are more determined than ever to find out what has happened to Ayla and we still cling to the hope that she is alive and will be returned to us. We urge anyone that has information about Ayla to come forward now and unburden yourself of the truth," the site says.

The announcement came a day after McCausland said that investigators believe the three adults who were in the home the night before Ayla was reported missing are withholding information that could help investigators find her.

McCausland also said Saturday state police took several hundred pieces of potential evidence from the home, including the blood, during a full-scale investigation in late December.

Also Saturday, Ayla's mother, Trista Reynolds, of South Portland, attended a vigil for the toddler in Castonguay Square. Reynolds and DiPietro, who do not have a relationship and have not appeared publicly together since their daughter disappeared, talked at length privately at the event.

Statement Analysis concluded that Ayla Reynolds was dead.

This was based upon the statement released by the father in which he references the child in the past tense; an indication of death.

Analysis then showed deception via withholding information and that the story of a kidnapping was a fabrication, as evidenced not only in what the father said, but what he didn't say (SCAN) in his television appearance. He made no genuine plea for her safe return because he knew that no one had kidnapped his daughter.

State Police are now confirming that the blood found in the home of Justin DiPietro was that of 19 month old Ayla Reynolds. It did not come from someone cutting themselves shaving. It is not irrelevant in a missing child case. It was not released by police so that DiPietro supporters could ridicule law enforcement, or minimize the strategic release of information to pressure DiPietro and his sister and his girlfriend to give up the location of Baby Ayla, so that she can receive a dignified burial. It wasn't done so that they could sell more trinkets.

It was the blood of a child. It was the blood of a citizen of the U.S. Ayla was one of our own.

The volume of blood was more than what a normal cut would produce.

Analysis concludes: Ayla Reynolds is dead, by foul play, from those of whom occupied the house:

Justin DiPietro, Ayla's father.

Courtney Roberts, Justin's girlfriend.

Elisha DiPietro, Ayla's paternal aunt.

Police say that all three are withholding information on what happened to Ayla.

All three should expect charges of varying degree to be filed against them and both women should expect some custodial issues of their own to arise.

As the three of them have conspired together to deceive police, so did Ayla's maternal grandmother, who went on television and answered questions as if she had been in the home the night that Ayla was reportedly last seen, only to be seen as deceptive, subsequently forced to admit that she was not even in the home that night.

Ayla Reynolds brief life was surrounded by drugs and alcohol. Her mother neglected her by her drug abuse, and ended up handing him off to a father she did not know, in order to get clean.

Under DiPietro, Ayla had unexplained bruises, muscle injury and finally an acutely broken arm which was not seen by a doctor for 24 hours, likely due to the neglect found within substance abusing homes.

The fracture was not 'laughed off' nor was the seriousness of the emergency room doctor and attending nurses. It was a severe break of an 18 month old's pliable arm, and that it wasn't even noticed for 24 hours is not credible.

Lies, spin, insinuation and nonsense have taken the place of sober mindedness and honesty. This includes all involved.

Ayla Reynolds' body remains open prey to the elements while Justin DiPietro and, if analysis is on target, Courtney Roberts play a dangerous game of "chicken" with police, with DiPietro boldly and arrogantly stating that he would not be "standing here" had police had enough to arrest him.

One need not look far to find the drug connection on the father's side, either.

Besides rumors of prescription drug selling (do any of these parents not have a back ache?), partying, and a lifestyle contrary to child raising, Roberts' own sister was arrested, at Courtney Roberts' apartment, with 1,000 oxycontin pills and cocaine, a major amount indicative of the significant drug trade that was run from the home where Courtney Roberts lived with her son, exposing him to the all the attendant dangers of the drug industry, as dangerous persons go in and out, to buy and sell, leaving the child in harm's way.

Child Protective Services will be gathering all the new information, including statements made by police, to discern if Elisha DiPietro's child, like that of Roberts', is in a state of Jeopardy to their safety and wellbeing.

If mistakes were made regarding DHHS and Ayla, as Trista Reynolds' family has stated, there will be a more careful viewing of the indications of Neglect in the lives of these other two, leaving Courtney Roberts and Elisha DiPietro with precious little time to carefully consider their options regarding what happened to Ayla.

Another dead child.

Another false reporting of kidnapping.

Another lying family.

Drugs and children do not mix. The supporters should stop ridiculing police and minimizing evidence. They should stop selling bracelets or putting up posters. They should stop changing stories and stop whining about those who read through their stories.

They should demand that their 'friend' stop the nonsense, the lies, and the hiding, and tell police plainly where Ayla is.

ELMORE COUNTY, AL (WRCB) -- Channel 3 Eyewitness News has confirmed that Matt Palmgren, the widower of Gail Palmgren, has been arrested in Elmore County, Alabama on a trespassing charge.

Palmgren was taken into custody Thursday evening near where he has a lake home.

According to Palmgren's attorney Bryan Hoss, Arlene Durham pressed charges against Matt claiming that he trespassed on to her property back in November. A warrant was issued based on her complaint, which lead to his arrest.

Durham claims that Matt had entered a barn next to her house where she kept hay and feed for her horses on November 9, 2011 without her permission, which was when she filed her complaint.

She said she threw away all of the hay and feed, on the advice of her veterinarian. "It was cheaper to throw it away than to pay $150 per bag to have it tested," Durham said.

Officials in Elmore County say a formal report won't be available until Monday.

Hoss confirmed that Matt was bailed out shortly after his arrest and says they are working to get the charges dropped.
