This week we have a very special episode of Stay Hatin’. Don’t worry this isn’t the one where we try to save Soft Money from abusing diet pills, instead this episode was recorded in a Brooklyn so we’ve got some new guests on the show. Skinny Friedmen and Tom Delay join us to talk nonsense about rap music. Well really they just join Serg. We had some difficulties with mics going in and out so some shit got cut but a lot cool rap songs got played and we learn about things like Skinny wants to be a UFC fighter and catch a domestic abuse charge, Tom is overly positive, and San Francisco is stupid place to order a Stella. Another janky episode of Stay Hatin for you guys this week. I’ve been meaning to post this one for over a week but just got lazy about editing it. Serg’s mic is way too low the whole show because he attempted some new panning trick that didn’t work at all. If you’ve paid any attention to rap blogs circa the mid to late 00’s you should be aware of the rap blog he started. Serg also posted on it before everyone’s minds got limited to 140 characters of tumblr likes. Just to go extra heavy on the 04 rap blog vibes Noz comes through to hang out and talk raps. We find out things like that David is a J.Cole fan, Soft Money likes white guys who do Bob Marley covers, Noz thinks Big Sean raps like NGA Fish, and that everyone is an industry plant, especially David. Episode 74

This week’s poorly managed episode of Stay Hatin has Noz and DJ Willie Maze filling in for an absent Mr What’s Gafflin aka Soft Money. There is also an attempt to get the youth perspective on raps by bringing in two young rap fans and getting their unique thoughts on the rap music. It gets a little chaotic with so many dudes on the mics, Noz is apparently Serg’s personal ghost of hiphop messageboard past, Serg can’t keep his Slim/Young thugs straight but still manages to play the same Young Sizzle song twice. We could have edited that out but figured what the hell just leave it in because it adds character or something.

This week we’ve got a fairly drunk episode. Well more that Serg is drunk than Soft Money so there is some nonsense going on like forgetting the names of artists, levels had to be edited in post, twice as many mispronunciations, calling a Danzig song Momma, and who knows whatelse. Soft Money bless Serg with the knowledge of a hanging chad and if your not that deep in the hole punching paper game then you should get learned on that link. Soft Money also uses his coworkers lack of knowledge of the Whip Dance as some kind of bullshit fountain of youth to hang on to the dream of his adolescence. It looks more like a half ass version of the motorbike wristjob with all kinds of extra toppings for personal flavor. Somehow the two of them manage to play more raps than usual and because we’re back in the studio it’s all newer raps so yeah deal with it.

Stay Hatin brings you another all cassettes podcasts of raps. This week rapper Luke Sick shows up to play summer jam 91 recordings, EPA finest raps, turntablism and all other kinds of random bay area raps that may or may not include Casual on them. Noz also shows up to drop a few tapes and talk about raps. It’s a pretty long episode with some talky bits but you guys know the deal, Serg goes off on one to many porn magazine tangents as he is wont to do. This is the analog episode, we got to bullshitting and had the idea to record an all tape episode. Noz was with it so we had him as a guest on the show. Unfortunately it was his suggestion that we actually play the tapes. Serg had the bright idea to record the episode at All Day Play which meant that it would air live as well. We had a stack of about 35 tapes, 6 walkmans, and bunch of cables. About an hour into the show one of the cables hit the keyboard and stopped the recording just as there was a discussion about Yeezus, the Illuminati is watching. Anyways Serg was able to salvage most of the show, there are some fucked up levels of stuff but that’s to be expected, we tried to even things out as best we could but that’s the difficulty with using cheap ass walkman’s and old tapes. It was a pretty fun thing to record and will definitely happen again but under better circumstances, like never do that shit live for the first time that’s for sure. This latest episode features Dj Tap10 of the Honor Roll crew who does a show on Alldayplay.fm as well on Tuesdays. Tap10 brought some dope raps, he got Soft Money to reveal his desire for bhangra hip-hop dance abs dvds, they play too much Future and Serg complains about singing, again. Episode 54 (yeah I know I said 55 on the show) for this episode Serg finally links up with Matt Chang who we’d meant to talk to like a fucking year ago when his record Bay Blue dropped on Anticon. Matt is a producer from the bay area whose been around for quite some time but he likes drinking, rap and as far as I know does not like Drake and the Stay Hatin rule book that totally qualifies you for being a guest on the show. We play a good amount of rap songs on this episode, some that he ends up liking and some songs he probably could have done without. Things get interesting when he tells us about how his wife reads him dianetics in the Bane voice before he goes to sleep.  He also mentions this video where Action Bronson eats two chicken wings, I just now found out they were ghost pepper wings so yeah now it makes sense that he only ate two. Episode 53 of Stay Hatin with DoseOne. Soft Money and Serg play rap songs and then someone says something about them. Dose tried to say something about a Fat Trel song but couldn’t remember that it was a Celtic Women sample. Fortunately we remembered to link it. They also said some stuff about the Anticon 15 year Anniversary shows which you can find out about here: SF or LA. Also check the Anticon site for Jel’s new record. One of the reasons that we invited Dose over for this particular podcast was to get his thoughts on some of these young Atlanta kids who are doing some interesting things with their voices, specifically Young Thug and Pee Wee the Longway. While Dose didn’t particularly care for Pee Wee he did like Young Thug so at least we won him over a little.  Oh the last song of the podcast got copied and pasted after the fact because Serg wanted to play something and discuss this guy who is calling himself Itz Lil B Man but never got a chance so the song is there at the end of the podcast for you guys to think about if this guy should have issues with that name considering no one knows about the other Lil B in the rap game. For Stay Hatin’s 50th show we decided to really make it special and getting Matt Sonzala (Pushermania) on the show. Matt’s been a long time friend and supporter of the rap musics so we felt it was only right to get him to come through and speak his thoughts on raps, the bohemian grove, doing acid in 1994, promoting music in Africa and why Texas rappers need to get in the van. To make things more special we got Noz to come through as well. This was the very first time these two rap related dudes who don’t rap actually met in person. Stay Hatin episode 50 is about bringing people together.
