It’s been almost 10 days after my shocking exams ended and I promised to myself that I’ll be back as soon as I can writing here in my blog but my spirit hasn’t coming back since. 2 months since I left, I already missed a bunch of issues.

Looking forward for this marvel flick “Iron Man 2” which the “War machine” will be coming along fighting on the same side as Iron man excites me yet they still haven’t released the official trailer here in the Philippines.

These past few days, Almost places in National Central Region here in the Philippines had suffered a calamity that has never been this severe for 40 years. Typhoon “Ondoy” as we call them had clashed the Filipinos unguarded and defenseless. Although the typhoon runs only on a maximum speed of 53 km/hr. Filipino people was unaware that this typhoon carries a huge volume of rain enough to drown people for just 5 hours.

A huge mass was greatly affected. As “Ondoy” leaves the country, NDCC (National Disaster Coordinating Council) claims that the typhoon death toll reaches over 100, 32 people was missing and 115,990 was sent on 205 evacuation centers (from Inquirer.net) but gmanews.tv said it may reach 200 still climbing. Rescue teams had been deployed to such areas that are greatly affected using rubber boats and amphibian trucks to help people that are in need.

There is one case that a celebrity was stranded on the roof of her house along with his mom and some children called for help until another celebrity which a friend of hers rescued her using a speedboat and a jetski. As of now, people are recovering due to the typhoon had made. Starting all over again.

Dance Flick

Though they start as prickly competitors, it isn’t long before Thomas and Megan’s mutual love of dance enables them to overcome the social and racial barriers between them. But will their unlikely love story be enough to inspire all of the school’s students, rekindle Megan’s dreams, and save Thomas as he returns to the hip-hop battlefield of his earlier defeat? Luckily, I haven’t born holding a light saber or wearing a mask of Darth Vader.

People made Star Wars a great hit for all times generated by six Star wars films and have a totalled approximately $4.3 billion making it the third high grossing film series. Although the Star Wars saga was ended last May 2005, Star wars was still very alive from collection items, action figures, games and so they made the animation Star wars: Clone wars 3 years after the last sequel filling in stories between Star wars: Attack of the clones and Star wars: Revenge of the sith.

It is true, Star Wars is famous... and so their spoofs and parodies... :-P

Well, when I saw this news I’m bit on a shock. Walt Disney Co. buys Marvel Entertainment Inc., for $4 billion cash and stock. I can’t imagine your friendly neighbour Spidey went to go hanging at the edge of Disney’s castle and wears a Mickey Mouse hat. Otherwise Mickey got his new costume to be like this.

I think it would be hard for the people to accept the reality that the cute mouse and the cool spider will be joining forces in the world of entertainment. Maybe they can’t help it because Walt Disney has locked on children and maybe it will be a great help for Marvel for them to produce more movies, cartoons and TV shows.

Since Marvel had cooperated with Paramount first, Paramount pictures still got their last five pictures like Iron Man 2, Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, The Avengers and so until they finished it to the last second Disney welcomes Marvel to their new home.

This film got me very curious and somewhat interested on this animation. Characters on front line are called the Stitchpunks. It kinda look like a handmade doll with nine inch in height (I suppose) who was made by a scientist and sacrificed his own life to create them. It is said that the Stitchpunks are the only hope for them to preserve humanity. There are 9 ragdolls named after their numbers and has their own personalities as well.

Where would be your 'Final Destination'?

Finally, I have seen the 4th installment of the film “The Final Destination” and it’s a worth watching for.
Warning: See the movie first before reading this. Some parts of this article contains spoilers.

All Final Destination movies start on same ways from a person having a vision of a great tragedy that will kill a great number of people. That person will get aware of that and saves people as many as he/she can but still in the end they cannot defeat death. Once your time comes, you cannot escape from it.
First was a plane crash, and it become famous as a basis of the characters of the next sequels, second was the massive pile-up on the highway, Third was a roller coaster accident and the fourth was on a race track.

The film started showing an ongoing race until a crash came up to Nick O’Bannon as a vision and gone freaking out leaving the stadium until the crash. Only few characters got involved in this film making it short. Eventually they all died in the end including Nick but it happened in the end.

On some parts I found it disappointing, it’s like they have done as a summarized excess ideas made from the previous sequels. I didn’t say this because of the actual introduction of the movie showing an x-ray animation of the people who have died previously but they have just put the clues on Nick’s mind as if he is a psychic and there is no other way for them to see who will die next. Not like in the first installment, they use a copy of a seat plan, second was remembering the guys died on the vision and made it as a trace, third was the pictures taken gives the clues on the people on how they will die.

On the positive side, exploring places and preventing repetition is a good idea. People must be aware that even in the safest places as malls can be a place to die. On the last premonition, Nick finds Lori and Janet watching a movie. Nick tells them that there are signs that definitely kill them but Janet doesn’t believe saying “I’m not supposed to be on that race track, I’m supposed to be watching this movie!” until she died due to an explosion from the back of the screen. Nick and Lori runs for their lives but on their way down to an escalator, it suddenly cracks up and leaves a great opening on the engine eating up Lori. No wonder that even escalators can eat you alive HAHA!

They’ve also put some comedy in it when a security guard named George Lanter accepts that he is ready for his death therefore he doesn’t want to waste his time waiting and tries to suicide but it always fails. George was shown hanged on the ceiling, Nick and his girlfriend Lori thought that they were too late to save George but the rope broke and tells the two of them what have been he doing.

On my opinion I will give it 3 out of 5, Still it had definitely entertained me.

WAR vs ZOMBIES?? Who loves Brains?! Rawwwr..

September Film Highlights

I highlighted some films coming this September.

4 – “Gamer” – after staring as King Leonidas(Gerard Butler) saving the hot gates from Persian’s ass, he must survive this futuristic game called “Slayers”

11 – “Whiteout” staring Kate Beckinsale, vampire turn U.S. deputy marshall investigates a murder on frozen continent three days before the Antarctic winter begins.

18 – “A cloud with a chance of meatballs” – an animation from Sony pictures. This would be a great flick to children

- “Jennifer’s Body” – Transformers’ hot chick Megan Fox turns this film go wild becomes possessed by the devil and feeds on boys by seducing them. I wish Sam and Bumblebee would save her from her devilish acts.

25 – “Surrogates” – I would say this film would be the “Hit” this September. Bruce Willis stars this movie as if it’s his Die Hard 5 still has the energy doing action films prior to his age.

Upcoming: 2012

2012, another catastrophe flick is coming to blow away your homes for you to come to the nearest theatres. It’s a bit like the same from the previous movie The Day After Tomorrow back in 2004 but as I watched the trailer it looks like it’s the sum of all disaster movies putting it all together. Meteorites falling from the sky, Earthquakes cracking the earth, Lava spurting from volcanoes, Climate’s freezing because of the melting of polar ice caps with a sudden gush of tidal waves swallowing great states such as Washington (yes is saw the white house blown by a great wave in the trailer) until there is nothing left.

2012 film is based from the Mayan prediction of doomsday event that will occur sometime on the year 2012. I wonder when this prediction is real; can I still watch the upcoming movies that will be shown on that year? “We’ll never know”

This things just came up to my mind since this movie is coming soon. It’s like people are afraid dying from this kind of catastrophes because we know that one’s these event came to happen there is no hope to one or more people that is dying every second, suffering from a disease such as AIDS, hunger, and other epidemics and pandemics which are the ones we want to save.

Extreme Green Comedy

Maybe it’s a bit late for me to mention this film but I just help myself. From the moment the film started introducing the two of them I can't stop from laughing from all of the crap that they have been doing. Just let me say this article serves as a comment from the film Harold and Kumar. While I’m watching the movie, it’s like I have been stuck on the humour that they exhibiting for the whole film. I love movies mostly when they make me laugh and that is why sometimes I forget to criticize the other aspects so what I did is I watch the movie all over again. There are some parts that are sexually explicit, verbalization of vulgar words, vices yet they exhibit it in the sense that they are portraying the exact events on their lives and on how the live it. Obviously it can’t be showed to minors unless they have the capacity to understand what they are watching.

(Mostly I encounter this kind of people)

Not generally this film means a lot of negativities. Sometimes other people are not interested on this kind of film and find it rude even though they haven’t seen it yet. Well guess what, I will tell you the “Golden Rule” don’t judge a book by its cover! When you try to understand its story and what goals they are pursuing then you’ll understand it’s not just an ordinary Rated R film. It’s just for the sake of the people who don’t understand even if it feels like I’m an idiot writing this stuff.

Try watching this kind of films.

Wherewolf?

There’s a new movie coming and its entitled “the wolfman.” I bet these creature will eat Edward Cullen whole hahaha! Another typical werewolf movie is on the loose turning it to a horror comeback not like in previous movies like Van Helsing and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, they are pretty much like heroes. On my opinion I’m not scared to wolf-like creatures as I see them in movies, yeah I think of them as cool guys and yes they are cool!

I have seen werewolves in such forms, brute type, speedy type, name it. But there is one form I hated the most, in Harry Potter & Prisoner of Askaban where Remus Lupin their new defence against the dark arts teacher (later a protagonist on following books) turned into a werewolf. It looks like a bald old man with gray skin and needs to rest on his bed. Werewolves are not lame creatures.

Bleach Movie 3: Fade to Black - I Call Your Name

Plot Summary:
A mysterious reiatsu (spiritual particle) explosion occurs in the center of Seireitei in Soul Society, causing it to be destroyed. At the exact same time, a major change overwhelms Kuchiki Rukia, which leaves her losing something important inside. Urahara Kisuke sends Kurosaki Ichigo to Soul Society to investigate the disturbance. Upon reaching Seireitei, Ichigo is set upon and attacked by shinigamis, once allies, who have no memory of him and Rukia. Now alone and on the run, Ichigo must find the missing Rukia and uncover the cause of the mysterious incident before it's too late.

Premiere date:
2008-12-13 (Japan)

You can expect the streaming and download version to be out when there is a DVD release of this movie. DVDs are generally released after 6 months the movie is available in Japanese theaters. But the movie in english subtitle is still unreleased.

[UPDATE]:
The Bleach Movie 3: Fade to Black (Kimi no Na o Yobu) should have been released this June 2009 but have been delayed till September 2009 (30/09/09). The DVD release will have 3 discs with a total price of 8400yen or $85.14. The DVD will ship on the release date in Japan, Europe, Middle East, and South Africa only. We have only a month to wait for this movie to be realesed on the net. weeeeeeeeeeeee! ^_^

Nowadays, turning novels into movies are made to be the biggest hit in the silver screens. Harry potter and Chronicles of Narnia are just examples of films that immediately climb the peak of stardom as soon as they’ve been shown on your favourite theatres. And now, another series of novels will try their luck to fit themselves on the screens. Percy Jackson & The Olympians will conquer on the coming 2010. Written by Rick Riordan, consisting of 5 books it’s a series of adventures based on Greek mythology. A boy named Percy Jackson discovers he was the son of the God of the Sea, Poseidon and discovers that the legendary beings of Greek Mythology are still alive. A lift in the Empire State building carries him through 600th floor which the Olympus lies.
