Semperey fashion journal sneak peek during London Fashion Week

2011-12-31T15:04:00.000+01:00

Quite frankly, I am not the big fan of feminine fashion magazines, although it often occurs to me to find interesting things in the least expected places. I was searching for steampunk-like fashion stuff, but instead found some shoots located on Semperey page (apparently it's some sort of fashion magazine for sophisticates). Navigate to the Fashion -> Street Spy section to access the article.

The pictures were supposedly taken during London Fashion Week and really caught my eye.
Even though not typically steampunk-ish, I still think some could be used as such with minor refinements, like adding a few cogwheels and such. More underneath.

Lovely, isn't she

Bit too modern for my taste. Still very nice though.

Ah, that's more like it.

That guy. That glasses.

Last semi-acceptable picture in the article.

Rest can be found under following link: http://www.semperey.com/lfw-aw-2011/
Unfortunately, fashion presented on rest of the pictures was too recent for my taste. The journal however seems to have suitable profile so I am going to post something else from there should I be able to dig up some interesting content.

Well would you please take a look at it

2011-07-16T21:08:00.000+02:00

Apparently, American McGee's Alice remake is here!

Moreover, their facebook page is handing over posters atm. I'm yet to get my copy but I'm thinking of making a review after I'm done with the game. Hope it won't be disappointing.

And since you're on facebook, feel free to add me.

I'm here

2011-07-12T07:48:00.000+02:00

Guys, guys. I'm still alive. I'm waiting for American McGee's Alice remake to make a decent review and besides I moved of late so I was pretty busy with setting up on the new place. Needless to say, I couldn't mod my PC case. I actually had to leave it behind, so there. I'll post more later.

Steampunk PC video game recommendation - American McGee's Alice

2011-02-22T11:58:00.000+01:00

I must admit I'm not a big fan of video games myself. There are, however, several notable exceptions. One of the prominent examples of old is Louise Carroll's adaptation of Alice in Wonderland adventures. As far as the game plot goes, it feels more like you're reading a fantastic book rather than playing a game. Game itself conveys strong spirit of steampunk - there are cogwheel-ridden steam-powered machinery and suitable environment on every game level. Amusingly enough, game's main theme is called "Flying on the wings of steam" by Chris Vrenna. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out any more of his work besides OST to the McGee's Alice, but he is supposedly going to work on a sequel as well. It's definitely worth checking out; it should be also noted game developers were nice enough to release both PC and Mac versions of the game. You can get them at Amazon for about $10, which isn't a lot for such game.

Internet problems, will be back up this week

2011-02-21T12:13:00.000+01:00

Alright, so it seems my connection to the outside world had abandoned me for the last couple of days, which is why I was unable to reply to your comments, which I will sort out and reply with extra effort later this week. I can only use the internet at work which is not really good idea if you want to be productive, and thus was also unable to check out modding www's you sent me before.

Take heed, though: I shall return no later than Thursday! Stay tuned.

PC modding

2011-02-15T18:21:00.001+01:00

Alright, I got a mid-tower PC case at home. As I no longer need it, I thin I'll mod it steampunk style, but I have no previous modding experience. Anyone can recommend good modding sites and\or tutorials? I don't want to blast the whole thing due to inexperience.

Steampunk stuff of awesomeness - Deviantart selection by Decadentier

2011-02-14T23:37:00.000+01:00

Well, here are artstuffs I found during my usual rummage through Deviantart's catalogues. I picked the ones I found absolutely outstanding and worth mentioning. Take a closer look:

I'll start with that pair of googles. Mediocre welding googles in the past turned into steampunk artpiece.

Made by Deepset

Just take a look at this clock: the design is pretty generic among fellow Deviants generic from what I've noticed, but both quality of production and the picture itself grabbed my attention:

Made by Aranwen

There are few things that make me lose free will. Among them are hand watches, flash lights (I can play with them for hours and always have spare battery packs) and compasses. Behold: fine work by Diarment:

Now brace for FANTASTIC STUFF. It's adjustable ring, full of cogwheels. It's currently for sale, so you grab one while it's still here:

I liked this one quite a lot. Neat, elegant and with lots of mechanical parts.

Click it, see it, love it

And last, but not the least. Dirigable. Yes, dirigable. It's not quite as utilitary as the brooch above, but I have personal weakness for zepellins.

Take a closer look
