So I decided to take a look at WAR again. And the first unfortunate thing I noticed was that for some reason, the scroll-wheel of my Razer Diamondback mouse forfeited ingame. Weird, it worked the last time I played (some two months ago…).

A quick check on Google informed me that I wasn’t the only one. And apparantly lots of people made ingame tickets about it, so I decided to do the same. And if there’s one thing you have to hand to the European support team (GOA), it’s their responstime.
I think after about ten minutes a GM contacted me about my problem. Unfortunately he couldn’t do much about it, just point me to some links about possible fixes.

After some twinking and trying to get it to work, I finally got to playing some WAR. And is it me or did they really buff the XP-gain from playing scenarios? So far I can’t say anything usefull about WAR, I’ve only done a couple of scenarios. I think I’m going to avoid PvE as much as possible, and keep my focus on the scenarios and keep wars. More on WAR after a couple of days.

We love playing PS3 games in co-op mode. To bad there are so few of them. Army of Two started sooo promising, but before we knew it, we were up against the final badguy, and just like that, game finished. No huge climax, no big finale, just so stairs, a couple of bad people and pewpew, the guy’s dead meat. Start the end-credits. Thank you for playing.

What’s up with that EA? I hope AoT: the 40th day will be bigger and better.

For starters, I always send my items with a certificate of postage. I didn’t do this in the past, and on occasion, you’d get a complaint of not receiving a parcel. And offcourse, without a proof of shipment, it’s a war of words, and on Ebay that usually means the seller is screwed.

So after a couple of these bizare not-receing-my-item claims I said to myself, from now on, always a certificate when I ship something.

Now it’s been a while since my last sale on Ebay, and last time I checked, it would cost you 4,95€ (6.58$) to send an item with a certificate of postage. So confident as always I went to my local post office and bought some stamps (with certificate). And guess what, the price has gone up. Now it will cost you 5,50€ (7.31$) to send an item with certificate.

What in the world…? Are you kidding me? This is the national postal service we’re talking about. What do you want next? My first unborn?

Did you know that the bigtime chief of the Belgian national postal service (name: Johnny Thijs) earns about 594.000€ (789,000$) to 842.000€ (1,119,085$) a year. And on top of that, if the postal service reaches certain “goals” every year, he receives a bonus of 250.000€ (332,270$).

Now I know why stamps are getting this expensive.

It really is time to throw the Belgian postal service industry into an open market.

Everyone knows Star Wars (all except my girlfriend apparantly…), and everyone knows Lego. And a combination of these two are common on the internet. Check out this cool Star Wars Lego movie on Vimeo.

Still waiting to get my hands on a Darkfall Online client.
Well, maybe not. I’ve been waiting for the game for some time, I believe the date I registered on the DFO forums is May 2005.

Why don’t I still have a DFO client? Because the developers decided to throttle the sales, in order not to overpopulate the server. Every now and then, usually on awful times during the day, they open up sales for about an hour and … ZAP … a couple of hundred clients are sold, and they close down the online shop. So what’s there to do besides watch some YouTube videos and browse the DFO forums.

And lately, all you see is people complaining about hackers, cheaters, exploiters etc … Now I wonder, is it really that much out of control? The developers issued a statement saying people are exaggerating, but are they? It’ll be interesting times for the DFO developers.

Here’s the  catch, it is micro-transaction based, meaning you can buy ingame items for real cash (RMT: Real Money Trade). Your charge up your diamonds (used to buy ingame items) with Paypal or VISA.

So I decided to check out some YouTube video’s of the game, to get an understanding of it. And boy, I really didn’t have to search for long. This is the first, and I’ll admit, also the last video I watched.

Does anything look familiar? If I didn’t say the topic was about RoM, you probably would have said the above screenshot came from the World of Warcraft login screen. Well it’s not, the screenshot is a still from the YouTube video I linked above, so it’s from the RoM login screen.

And after watching the video, and therefore the game itself, you have to admit Runes of Magic is a clone of World of Warcraft. And a pretty scary identical clone that is. I wonder if they have some sort of deal with Blizzard, allowing them to keep the game up?

But nevertheless, there will be no RoM for me. I’ve tried WoW, why go for anything less right?
