Animal Magnetism

Above is a poster (in progress) to promote an SPCA adoption day at a shopping center on the Eastern Shore in Virginia. This project has a small budget so I started on a quest to find free photography of cats and dogs (as the SPCA's database of animal photos were, although adorable, low resolution, and certainly not professional grade photography). After a little photoshop magic we now have nice professional-looking photography for a fraction of the price. I'm excited to see how the piece turns out!

Chile

We just returned from a nice long visit in Chile and I took a lot of photographs there to use as reference material for some future oil paintings. I'm working on a landscape now to get the ball rolling. This is an "in progress" shot but I hope to create a nice series of Chile inspired countryside landscapes this winter/spring.

Earlier last month my client, Footzyrolls, was featured in December's Oprah Magazine in their holiday gift guide. I found out yesterday that the product was featured on Thursday's Good Morning America. I designed Footzyroll's logo and web site template, and all illustrations on the packaging (you can see the packaging in the background when they talk about the product). 1.5 million people visited their web site to make purchases after the show aired which is really exciting. Americana Hotel Map

Over the summer I was commissioned to create an illustrated map for the Americana Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. They were in need of a map for hotel visitors to reference when navigating the area for basic Metro travel and pinpointing places of interest. The hotel is located in Crystal City across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. - just 1 mile from the Nation’s capital!

I began working with a start up company named Footzyrolls a few months ago, and have been proud to work with them on projects from their logo design to direct mailers to packaging. I'm excited to announce that these stylish rollable shoes can be seen in the December issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, on page 108 as part of their Holiday Gift Guide, as well as in their online issue. In addition, they have recently been featured in Lucky Magazine and InTouch Weekly. Now, they are off to L.A. to meet and greet celebrities and performers at the American Music Awards (AMA) while including their product in the AMA gift bags.

Tonight's figure drawing session was very cool - we held it in a greenhouse and our model was a great sport, despite the cool evening weather. I completed this watercolor study and had a blast.

I'm currently working on a poster for Cape Henry Collegiate in conjunction with Dig Pink , a Breast Cancer Awareness Rally being held all of October to raise awareness and funds. The group raises money by holding hundreds of featured High School and College volleyball matches across the country to help eradicate breast cancer.

I was recently asked to design a poster to promote an autograph signing party for HGTV star, Carter Oosterhouse, If you're interested in attending, he'll be at Taylor's Do it Center at Fairfield Shopping Center in Virginia Beach, Va. As part of our marketing package for the Wheeler Dodgeball Benefit Tournament, I created a wine label design for "Chateau Black & Blue," Wheeler's own unique vintage that was provided to sponsors and honored guests as a memorable thank you gift. The image on the left is the main product label, the center image is the label for the back of the bottle (we left space for the wine company to include their ingredient list and appropriate legal language) and the image on the far right is the final product.

I was just thumbing through a sketchbook from earlier in the year and came across this sketch I did back in December while we were visiting our friends in New York. Their place had a great view and I spent a few minutes recording it before breakfast one day. They have recently moved to another apartment so now I'm really glad to have this pen and ink memory.
