Jamie & Dave - Philadelphia Engagement Session

I love Philadelphia! I love the history, the architecture, the food and just being there. I can't think of a single time that I've been in the city and had a bad time. Well, maybe when the Eagles or Phillies loose, but even then I still find a way to have fun. Despite the bitter cold and a few flurries I had yet another fun filled trip into the city when I met up with Jamie and Dave. We moved all around the city and found some great places for them to just be awesome. It was cold, but it was so much fun and I cannot wait for their wedding. Here's a few of my fav's from their engagement session. Enjoy friends!

Lisa & Chris - Philadelphia Wedding Photography

A few months back I headed out with Lisa and Chris to do their engagement session. I knew it was going to be a blast because I've already had the pleasure of getting to know Lisa, but I hadn't met Chris yet. However, after getting to know Chris I learned that if there were a poster couple for "Two People Meant to Be Together" it would definitely be these two. Their engagement session was just a warm up preview for how special their wedding was going to be. I wasn't disappointed either. Lisa and Chris are beyond amazing together. From every detail surrounding them to each detail about them they just work. I had so much fun photographing and getting to spend time with you two! Thank you for being you. For putting up with the cold, the night, rushing around the city, and for looking so good for the camera. A big gianormous thanks and an even bigger CONGRATULATIONS!

Call me a slacker! Courtney and Bobby's wedding was a few months back and I'm just now blogging it :(. I hadn't all forgotten about blogging their wedding. It's just been so crazy the past few months, but I'm happy that I finally get to share these images with ya'll. I had an absolute BLAST shooting this wedding. Courtney and Bobby are amazing as are their family and friends. I love when I'm involved in an event where everyone puts a ton of effort in every detail and there were tons. Courtney and Bobby have phenomenal taste and they are just a phenomenal couple. I could keep going on, but I'd rather just gush over their pics some more. I know I'm greedy. I've been gushing for a while now and it's your turn. Get to it and enjoy!

Photos Featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer!!!

It's been a crazy few months here as we've been working on the new website, traveling and meeting great new folks. I realized this morning that I've totally neglected my blog and thus realized how many things I have awaiting a blog post. Oops. No worries, those posts will be up in due time along with some videos I hope. In the meantime, I wanted to share some AWESOME news...Randi and David's wedding was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer this past month! Their story can still be viewed online here and I suggest you go read it. I love these two and I'm so happy and thankful that they chose me to photograph their event. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but it really is for me. Even though the story is about Randi and Dave I can't help but be ecstatic at seeing my images as a part of that. Until this point I've never had a photo of mine published or printed for that matter, so it's a big deal. So big that I even framed the article. Thank you again Randi and Dave for being so amanzingly awesome. <3 and enjoy friends!
Randi & Dave - Philadelphia Wedding Photography

In December I was still living in Virginia, but preparing to make the move back to NJ. I knew I was going to have some downtime, so I started looking for things I could purchase through Groupon. I bought discounted tickets for a Cirque de Soliel show in Philly, discount food for a cool burger joint, and a great deal towards a hair salon in my area.

By January I was living in NJ and I decided I really needed a fresh hairdo. I went to the salon where the Groupon was from and I was greeted by Randi. I blabbed on about how I was headed to Florida and needed to get my hair dyed...to <strike>hide the grey</strike> look fresh and we somehow got on the topic of weddings. Here to find out Randi was getting married and needed a photographer. It was a match made in a hair salon. I needed a new hair magician/fairy godmother and she needed a wedding photographer.

March came around and it was time for Randi and Dave's engagement session. It was the first time I would meet Dave and the first time I got to spend with Randi outside of the salon. Their session was in Philly and we really lucked out because it was one of two days where the temps were in the 80's. It was gorgeous and we had an absolute blast!

Some months passed, I traveled A LOT and before I knew it their wedding was here. Again, we were graced with a gorgeous day, an amazingly beautiful and fun couple and a great time. I really don't know how it ends up that I meet such amazing, down-to-earth people, but I'm really lucky and thankful that I do. Randi and Dave's event was absolutely beautiful as are the two of them. If you are their friends or family then you obviously know how lucky you are to have them in your lives. If you aren't, well you're missing out. Sorry it's the truth.

Thank you Randi and Dave a million times over for including me not just in your big day, but for making me feel like a friend or family member that you've known for years. I have had the most amazing time photographing the two of you and I am super excited for you. May you continue to have an amazing life and continue to grace people with your awesomeness! Thank you and enjoy ya'll or yous ;-)

Julie and Andrew - Virginia Beach Weddings

I hadn't realized how long it had been since I blogged. Shame on me! Still, there's no better way to end a blogging drought by posting these images from Julie and Andrew's big day. I met Julie and Andrew the same week I was moving from Virginia to New Jersey. We had already booked their event, but didn't have the opportunity to meet as they didn't live in the area. I just knew from that meeting that they were going to be a blast to photograph. Jule and Andrew are two of the most easy going, down-to-earth loving people I've had the pleasure to work with. Even an evil looking rain cloud during our time on the beach couldn't stop them from having a good time. After sprinting 300 yards from the beach they were back in the limo ready to get the party started. I had a blast shooting their wedding and I'm thankful that Julie and Andrew didn't let the weather stop them from being the fun loving people that they are. Thank you for having me there to document your day! It truly was a pleasure and I know without a doubt that you two will have a very wonderful marriage. Congrats!

Niki & Frank - New Jersey Engagement Session

I think it's a common sentiment that most people dread returning to work after an awesome vacation. Those thoughts never crossed my mind about my job and I did have an awesome vacation. The only thing I was dreading was laundry and cleaning the house. Thankfully, those items got put on the back burner for a few kick bootay sessions this week. One of those bootay kicking sessions just happened to be the lovely couple, Niki and Frank. Niki and Frank will be tying the knot in 2012, but we gathered for their engagement session just this past week. We had a great time! Niki and Frank were a blast to hang out with and were totally at ease in front of the camera. Thank you Niki and Frank for making my job easy and for giving me an EXCELLENT reason to miss out on laundry and cleaning! Enjoy friends :)

A few weeks ago (yes I know I'm slacking on my blog) I had the honor of photographing Julie and Billy's wedding. In addition, I got to hang out with a pretty amazing group of people. I've had the privilege of photographing Julie's kick bootay sister's (Hi Amy!) wedding, one of Julie's rocking friends (Hi Gina!), and another amazing couple who Julie sang for at their wedding (Hi Cathy and Bob!). So, you can imagine that I was stoked to photograph Julie and Billy's wedding.

Amazing guest list and bridal party aside, these two are just downright FANTASTIC. Or, in Stephanie speak...FANTABULOUS. Julie and Billy are so easy going and so in love. I just love being around people like Julie and Billy. They are the type of couple that you just smile at even if you didn't know them. We had a blast spending time with these two, their families and friends. Thank you Julie and Billy for being so fantabulous and for being so easy going that we even got the chance to goof off a bit. You will without a doubt have a lot of amazing years ahead of you. Congratulations! Enjoy friends :)

1 awesome park + 1 awesome family = 1 Happy Photog

I really LOVE it when I get to photograph past clients for a second, third, fourth, etc. time. Honestly, I hate to say clients because it sounds so "stick in the mud" to me. By the end of each session I do, I feel like I really get to know the people I'm photographing. They are giving me the privilege to peak inside their lives for a little bit and see how much love and joy exists in their lives. It really is a privilege and an honor for me to witness it.

This is the second time I've photographed the G Family. Baby G just celebrated his first birthday a week before our session at this same park. I was sad that I missed his birthday celebration, but super excited that I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful family again. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. G for welcoming back to photograph your amazing family. It's always a pleasure

You can't outrun a spider....

This is not a planned blog post at all. In fact the event took place 10 minutes ago. Now you're probably wondering, "What on Earth do running sneakers have to do with spiders?" Well, here's a personal confession for everyone. I HATE SPIDERS. I. am. deathly. afraid. of. them. So, since I like to embarrass myself on a daily basis I figured the event that just happened should be a PSA and I will not take a picture of a spider. Ewe. Instead you get my running sneakers.

I'm sitting at my desk working diligently and complaining to James that he is playing the worst music I have ever heard, when I feel something on my neck. So, I brush at my neck attempting to dismiss this annoyance. It's then I realize said annoyance has texture. At which time I jump from my chair discard my sweatshirt and freak the *bleep* out. Since a video camera was not present at the time it went something like this...

Stephanie: while jumping and convulsing into something that resembles a tribal dance done wrong... "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHH....ewe.ewe.ewe. OMG. OMG. THERE WAS A SPIDER ON MY NECK! KILL IT JAMES! KILL IT!
James: "What the heck is wrong with you? I don't even see it.
Stephanie: "KILL IT!!! Please!!!" Sounds of whimpering and screechy noises could be heard.
James: "OMG you are special. It's a tiny spider and you broke one of his legs freaking out! They have to come inside when it's raining."
Stephanie: "Well they don't have to come inside ON ME!" Get rid of it."

It's at that moment that I run from the room because I'm convinced that this spider will do one of two things..
A. It will either jump from the tissue that James has it gently resting in to attack me.
B. James will chase me through the house with it. That has happened before.

The spider made it outside of the house. Yay. I, however, am convinced that it bit me on the neck and now my head is going to fall off. Yes, I am special and I had to share. Carry on.
