More to come soon – I just wanted to share one of the photos I took of Brisa as she was being a joyful child in the beginning of spring. There is something about the spirit of this photograph that I love.

When I read the testimonial that Aidan sent to me today, it brought tears to my eyes. This is why I love what I do. It’s about the people and the memories, and helping to make their day last the rest of their lives through photographs:

“When you’re a bride there are so many things to make decisions on hoping that your day will be one of the most fantastic you have ever experienced. I’d like to tell you picking Stephanie as my photography was one of the best decisions I made during the entire process. What first drew me to Stephanie was her amazing eye. Most photographers do have the standard repertoire of poses that go with every wedding but Stephanie is also able to capture the moment and emotion in each of her photos. If you look around you’ll find you are hard pressed to find a photographer that can do this so consistently! Stephanie is also great to work with because she can put you at ease and make you totally forget you are in front of a camera. I have thought for years that I am one of the world’s most unphotogenic people ( I think it’s because I am super aware of the camera…not a good thing in my case). Taking shot with Stephanie is more like hanging out with a friend than obsessing about how your nose will look in the shot and oh my god that angle is not good. She has an incredible eye that will capture you in ways that you say “huh…I really do look that good!”

I’d also like to mention that Stephanie is totally flexible! We had a mild fiasco (read this as complete absolute panic) with my husband being admitted into the hospital the day of the wedding. Stephanie was completely there for us and whatever needed to be done as far as rearranging plans. It was great to know that we had one less worry during a stressful time. She also did a great job making Mike not look sick! Her ability to put someone at ease when hours before they were hooked to an IV and create shots that make them look the picture of health really says something about how special she really is. I felt like not only do I have great memories captured of my wedding but that I also have gained a special friend that will be there to document other events as enthusiastically as she did that day. Thank you so much Stephanie!”

I posted the first part of Tamica and Charles’s wedding day here. I couldn’t, however, leave you without some photos of their super fun reception! It was such a fun reception. There was always someone claiming the dance floor, which is absolutely my favorite thing to photograph at receptions. The gathering of people was full of life and laughter, and I had such a fun time capturing all the fun they had that day!

The photos of Charles with his grandmother are so touching. You can see how deeply she loves her grandson. Look at how tight she holds on to him. So beautiful.

Tamica and Charles are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. To be able to be a part of the beauty of these two sweet souls joined together forever in love makes me so happy. The day started with smiles, and the joy didn’t fade all day long. I’m so excited to be able to share these images with you, and so grateful to Tamica and Charles for allowing me to document the strength of their love. I am so happy to have met you, and I love your family and friends!

Tamica has some awesome bridesmaids! We shot their first look session across the street from the church, and her bridesmaid actually stopped traffic for her!

I love it when couples choose to see each other before the wedding ceremony. I actually highly recommend it. The moment is so wonderfully theirs. It’s so private and perfect for them to spend those moments when they first see each other away from guests or wedding day chaos.

This is the reason I recommend a first look session – That look on her face right there.

They looked at each other like that all day long.

Seriously, Tamica – could you be any more gorgeous?!?!!?!

A little while ago I photographed the Thomas family to celebrate their love for each other and create some beautiful portraits for their home! We had a fabulous time by the river, enjoying the weather and sunshine! Little T is so adorable, and has so much fun energy! Just check out his smile in these photos! He also has a perfect little serious face! What a handsome little guy!

I took a little trip to Lake Murray a few weeks ago to photograph the adorable little 8-month-old Carmen. I think this is one of the happiest babies I have ever met! I seriously wanted to take her home with me – she is so sweet and cute!!!

This handsome guy is my friend Will, who hired me to take some business portraits of him for his portfolio and resume. Will is one of the most hard-working and motivated guys I know! He is about to graduate from the USC business school, just got back from going to business school in Austria, and JUST GOT ACCEPTED INTO HARVARD!!! He will be attending Harvard Summer School this summer, and will attend Harvard Extension School starting in the fall. Congratulations, Will – you deserve it. I am super excited and happy for you.

Columbia SC Wedding Photographer – Aidan and Michael are Married! (Part 1)

I want to start off this post by saying that I LOVED photographing Aidan and Michael’s wedding. This is going to be a huge post, because I had such a great time with this fun, hilarious and totally in love couple.

You may remember them from their engagement shoot, and I had the extreme pleasure of photographing Aidan and Michael’s wedding a few weeks ago at the Capital City Club in Columbia, SC. The weather was perfect, although really windy! I started off this day a little afraid, because I got a text message from the bride that morning saying that Michael had to go to the hospital. He had a serious flu bug and was extremely dehydrated. The poor guy began his wedding day with an IV drip in his arm, but whenever anyone asked him if he would be okay to go through with the wedding, he said “I’m marrying Aidan, no matter what.” Nothing was going to stop him from joining Aidan that day to seal their love and be together – forever.

Aidan and Michael are so completely perfect for each other, and so in love. I love how incredibly real they are. They’re both genuine, beautiful people. I am honored to call them my clients and friends. Congratulations, you two!!!!
