For sale!

2013-02-05T20:23:00.002-08:00

I have been painting some models and refurbishing some boardgames. These will be for sale at Fire and Ice! If you are interested in buying, and will not be at Fire and Ice, please e-mail me and we can work something out but I must warn you I WILL NOT BE SENDING THEM OUT UNTIL AFTER THE CON! Anything that is bought before the convention will be sent out on the 25th so that I can use them as displays. There will be a For-Sale sign on them at the convention. Anything not sold at the convention will be put on an Etsy shop which I will link on here when the time comes.

Here is what I have so far:

First, I have a moded black coach.

As you can see I put Bretonian horses on it and added synthetic hair for the tail.

It's also on a custom base made of wood to make it more sturdy.

This is finished with a matte hardcoat.

Everything was pinned together so it is very sturdy. I played with it about 3 times.

This is currently for sale at $175.

Next I have Terrace the boardgame. This game was seen on Star Trek Next Gen and is quite fun to play.

It has all the pieces to play plus the instructions and box.

Black hole pieces.

Blue pieces with stars

Moon pieces

Sun Pieces

This is finished with a glossy hardcoat.

This games is currently for sale for $150.

Super Dungeon Explorer Review by Ryan Metzler

Welcome to Two Girls

2012-11-06T17:48:00.001-08:00

We changed our name recently. We found that it was too long and it was easy to mistype.

So welcome to "Two Girls, One Brush" or "Two Girls" for short.

This means we have a new E-mail.

twogirls1brush@gmail.com

We are also starting a new refferal program. Here is how it works:

Everyone gets their first project for 15% off.

Anyone who refers a friend gets 15% off.

Anyone refered by a friend gets 15% their second project.

Any questions feel free to email.

Dragons and some clay

2012-06-15T10:20:00.002-07:00

Did a few new projects recently. My light that I usually use broke so bare with me on pictures. I'm trying to find a light to work for this.

This is from talisman.

Its hard to tell from the picture but I actually made it go from dark at the bottom to light at the top.

The man had very "servant like clothes" but a beautiful horse so I tried to make them blend better with color.

There were so many models that I started to get bored of the colors I was using.

It looks a little darker in the picture but the dress turned out to be a really pretty aqua color.

This guy was fun with all the flames and the scales.

I loved his hat and beard.

This one looks much darker in the picture but it is a purple dress with some silver speckling the dress.

All of the purple colors look darker in the pictures. This on is also purple with some gold trim.

Dwarves are always fun to paint.

Another purple dress with gold speckling the cape part.

A nice Royal purple, this one actually looks about the same color in real life.

Going for a dirty gladiator look.

Had to show all four views for such an interesting piece.

So many pockets I couldn't decide what colors to put on which one.

This one also looks darker in the picture. He isn't quite this dirty looking.

There is a skeleton on this horse. I decided to give the horse a blue tint to make it more ghost like.

This one turned out to be my favorite even though I spent about and hour trying to decide on colors.

I tried out some new inks from Wonderwash (http://www.wonderwashink.com/)

They work really well but they do make them look glossy once it dries. I used these inks on all these models and once I put the matte finish on the others they didn't look glossy. I chose to leave this one glossy to give him a slimy look.

I eft this one glossy too. Kind of annoying but I really like the way it gets into the nooks and crannies.

Some single models.

I had very specific orders on these including red highlights which I think turned out well.

This one was slightly less specific but I tried to get is as close as I could.

One of my favorites. The model itself was fun to paint. I did have a problem with one wing coming off though.

He asked for dark blue so the skin is dark blue and then I did a blue silver for the metal armour.

This is a custom clay base I did for him to give it a little more life.

If your interested in custom clay bases just ask.

This I did for a friend of mine. He loves wolves. I already had the wolves painted and I made the base for him.

I love doing white fur.

I'm a little low on projects so I did some of mine.

Here is mr. green from clue.

Prof. Plum

Mrs. Peacock

My fav. Col. Mustard.

Mrs. white.

And of coarse the beautiful Ms. Scarlet.

Our first conventions and a new project.

2012-05-18T14:56:00.001-07:00

So these last few months we have attended two conventions.

Fire and Ice

http://www.fireandiceconvention.com/

Getting the signs ready.

Yea, we did our own signs.

Our newest artist Mary!

We did painting lessons at the Con.

Here is one done by one of the kids.

And another

My one on-site commission.

100 Zombies

In between cons I did another project.

Custom clay bases.

For both models.

Turned out great.

Our second Con was GaryCon
http://www.garycon.com/index.php

We painted 30 GaryCon IV Wizards.

They were all gone by the end of the first day.

So we were painting them on-site.

I have never painted models so quickly.

We also met Luke Gygax.

This is also a great visual of our booth.

Mary was able to come and paint on site to.

We put up a slideshow of everything we've painted on the computer.

Here you get a little taste of Mary's work.

This is the second project she has ever gotten.

She did a really great job!

Especially, considering the quality of the models.

So there you have a bit of an update. Sorry I've been so behind on keeping it updated.

Also, just a heads up we will be getting a new website. A REAL ONE! One that doesn't have anything to do with a blog. Well, there will be a blogroll actually but that's not the point.

Dungeon Run Review!

2012-02-17T21:22:00.000-08:00

We painted the models of Dungeon Run for a Dice Tower review by Ryan. It's a great review to learn about the game too! He did a fantastic job, thank you Ryan!

Another Project

2012-02-16T11:15:00.000-08:00

Ships were mostly drybrushed and washed but it took many coats of both to get it right.

Tried to add a little purple and blue tint into the black to give it a little more depth.

Earth Reborn and Bloodbowl Amazon Team

2012-02-15T10:38:00.000-08:00

Here we have some new projects.

No bases on these models so the pictures aren't great.

AE-WW2

2011-12-04T16:21:00.000-08:00

The first set of the AE-WW2 project. These are the Nazis.

Senji

2011-11-17T13:56:00.000-08:00

Finished project for the boardgame Senji.

An update!

2011-11-08T09:21:00.000-08:00

So I haven't updated in a while and I have a few changes to tell you about.

Let's start with some pictures.

Freehand togas on Meeples!

Very basic but they came out nice.

Now I have my camera back so I will be able to take good pictures again.
We are also going to start having some promotional opportunities come up so keep checking up for those.

The most important announcement? I just hired a new employee! He started a couple months ago but now we have worked out the kinks so everything should start moving much smoother now!!! Turn around time is going to be much better now so be prepared to see your projects much quicker!

I will be posting some pictures of things Chris has done in the past so you can see he is a fantastic new addition to my Little Painting Place.

Also, I set up a new e-mail account specifically for miniature painting so I won't have to worry about missing emails. The new address is posted in my profile. So start sending all e-mails to stephenieslittlepaintingplace@gmail.com.

I will be doing a lot of new things in the next couple of months so keep checking back for all the excitement.

Dungeon Twister

2011-08-17T13:42:00.000-07:00

Just finished another project. It's a boardgame called Dungeon Twister. This isn't my normal camera and I don't have my new office set up at the new house yet so the pictures aren't great.

This one was my favorite to paint because his muscles were so big I got to really show off my highlighting skills.

The skin on this was also really fun to paint. I love working with blues.

As fun as this one looked I had lots of troubles with the model being so flimsy. It bends to far to one side alot and I had to keep readjusting.

I never thought doing highlights on aqua colored skin would be so hard. I had to mix ice blue and snot green with the Hawk turquoise for ever highlight.

Not a very interesting model to paint. Also, I had troubles with the flimsiness of the staff.

I COULD NOT get a good picture of this one. His head just won't go in to focus. Very fun model though.

I loved painting the face on this one. Lots of highlighting to be done.

I painted every one of the scales on this one, one at a time. Lots of layers of paint and wash went into it.

The whole red team!

I somehow managed to forget the serpent guy in this picture.

My first 40K project

2011-07-05T08:59:00.000-07:00

Just finished this. I'm particularly proud of the base, which I did myself with clay.

Valkries and Pig Tickler

2011-06-29T22:42:00.000-07:00

Here are two of my more recent commissions. One is Valkries for Elfball the other is for a boardgame called Pig Tickler.

Also, make sure you check out the new facebook page and like it!

Here is my most recent commissions.

New Painting

2011-02-23T23:25:00.000-08:00

So today I finished up a commission. It's a Valkyrie team for Elfbowl. Here are a few pictures of the finished work.

The whole team

Close up of most of the team

Tried two different ways on the Alligators not sure which I prefer.

Please make sure to leave a comment. I'm always looking for ways to make it better.

A better workplace

2011-02-12T21:32:00.000-08:00

I re-organized my workspace to make it more efficient so I can get my painting done easier.

Here are some pictures so you can see where I do my magic.

The whole office!

My makeshift filing system. I made shelves out of cardboard and duct tape. I plan to eventually decorate the shelves and the boxes so they look more appealing.

My main workspace with a couple projects i'm working on right now.

I have my paints in a specific order. I also have them inventoried on a spreadsheet.

About me and my painting.

2011-01-26T13:50:00.000-08:00

I'm a miniature painter in Northwest Illinois. I've been painting miniatures for a 2 years. I offer my painting at a fair price and do everything from building, to painting, to basing. I can paint any type of model and I can do it to whatever specifications you want. I also have started making Blood Bowl pitches and terrain. I am also up to challenges so if you have something different then I am used to I will be willing to give it my best try. Prices are based on number of models, difficulty, and number of hours spent on them. It's usually around $30-35 per box or $20 per hero model.

You can leave me a comment or E-mail me for an estimate or to ask any questions.

I will be posting updates on things I feel important and pictures of finished works.
