"Today is the first day of the rest of my life."

What a motivating sentence. Yes, a new start, and it all starts here. From this point on I'll stop being the professional procrastinator. I'll be organised and focussed and I'll achieve all of the things I have wanted to achieve. It's the new me. There's no denying it.

And then I realised.

"But tomorrow would also be the first day of the rest of my life."

Yeah, good point. I'll do it tomorrow.
It's the place to be if you want to get into social media. It's important to get the right username. And while you can change your username (or Twitter handle as it is sometimes called) you want to start off with the right one in case someone else takes that and you have to go without.

It's like when Gmail came out. If you didn't get your name early you were doomed to spending the rest of your days telling people you email address with all the numbers and underscores you had to use.

"Yeah, my email is Michael underscore Baxter 1625, where the I in Michael is a 1."

Twitter has been around for a while now, so a lot of the good names have gone. And that's why I was shocked that someone recently got @porn. It's the home of TwitterPorn, which is an area where there's a lot of proliferation. There are probably thousands of adult twitter accounts now. Women posting pictures of themselves nude, blokes aggregating they're favourite pictures, but to have that Twitter username is like being the original. It's like the bad guy in the last season of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

And as of writing this, that account only has made 272 tweets. I'm sure that'll increase, as there's plenty for them to tweet about. If people who have a Twitter account to mainly tweet about what a nice cup of tea they have just had, or to retweet the jpegs of quotes from someone else's Tumblr, I'm sure a Twitter account that has the username that represents everything rude can find something to talk about.

And of course, it's finally helps to answer the question, is it art or is it porn. If it's on that Twitter account it's porn. If it's on the @art account it's art. The modern world is such a simpler place.

Win

I have some good news in the world of sport. It's one of the most up and coming sectors of the internet. It's been a while since online gambling has become popular, with its ease of use and the enjoyment people get from playing online.

All of the things that people get from online casinos and the like are present in online bingo, but bingo has the added element that it's a game that people have played in bingo halls and in newspapers for years. It's something that people already know the rules to, they have experience with, and they have enjoyed before.

The same can be said of roulette and card games, but it's about the mass market. Some people have experience in casinos but loads of normal people have played bingo.

Sites like http://www.bingoboard.org/ have loads of info about bingo sites, and you can even find free sites. You can be playing bingo with no cost. It's not just free sites listed, you can find ones where you can play and win.

If you want to read more at http://www.bingoboard.org/ . She (the wife of the couple) will go on a rant about man-made chemicals and food preservatives. She says things like, "You can't trust it if it isn't natural. I only trust natural things because Mother Nature makes things for us."

Her world is a black and white world where natural is good, man-made is bad. It is easy to live your life in such a simple way but it is wrong. I hate to be the one to burst her bubble, and I wouldn't if she kept her thoughts to herself, but she is evangelical about it so I feel I have to step up.

Natural is good, man-made is bad, eh? Snake venom is natural, synthetic insulin is man-made. One kills people, one saves the lives of diabetics.

She didn't seem convinced by that but I found an even more complicated example. Have you ever heard of Oxycodone? It's an opioid analgesic. So, it's derived from something that grows naturally. It was developed in 1916 and is classified as a semi-synthetic opioid (so, partly man-made, partly natural). It's used to help people with moderate to severe pain. So that's a good thing, isn't it? Imagine all the people it's helped. It is partly man-made and yet it has helped so many people.

But it has a down side. People can get addicted to it and people need Drug Detox to get over it. Oxycodone Withdrawal Symptoms can be so bad that people have to seek special treatment centers to get their Oxycontin Detox. Lives can be turned upside down and rehabilitation can be hard work. That shows it can be a bad thing. It's partly natural and yet is can be bad. You see how confusing this is. And it gets worse. The rehabilitation and utilise natural resources and man-made products to work.

So, something partly man-made, partly natural can be both good and bad, and the cure can be both man-made and natural.

If anyone ever tries to make you believe that natural is good, mad-made is bad, just remember that their simple view can't cover all things.

Tonight's TV

Another night of watching My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding on Channel Four, but it wasn't a good one this week. There wasn't a wedding. There was one hen night (not a wedding, but related, so OK, we'll let that one go) but it was mainly about serious issues.

No one tunes in to that show to learn something. It's not BBC4, it's Channel 4, and people have come to expect what that TV show will offer.
And you can't laugh at someone being made homeless or someone racing horses on roads which risked the safety of the animal and their kids. But you can laugh at a silly big wedding dress. You don't want to make fun of someone's traditions and culture, but a massive outfit that makes you look like a thing old women use to cover toilet rolls, now that's golden.
I'll tell you what worries me about seeing the chavs on that TV show, it's that after they have been on the show talking about their various peccadillo (only I'm sure they don't know they're called that), the show offers them after care.

The after care is where their trained councillors stay in touch and help them through their chav-related trouble.

The thing that worries me about this is that I went to Vision Express for an eye test the other day because I wear contact lenses and they said it was an after care appointment.

What are they saying about me?!?

The Start of Winter

Is it ever going to get light today? Jessie Wallace? I preferred her when she was in that double act with Gromit.
Coronation Street won the Outstanding Achievement award for the explosive tram crash and live episode with which the soap celebrated its 50th anniversary.
It's the start of a chain of events that makes the world a better place. Let me go through it.

The institute is the fastest growing beauty school in the US. From just 2 schools it now has over 80 places of learning. So, it teaches people how to treat people and make them look better. Looking better makes people feel better about themselves. When people feel better about themselves they're more optimistic, which leads to greater productivity, and feeling good about yourself also means you tend to treat other people better.

So, some people learn how to do beauty treatments and a few steps later down the path of logic lots of people have slightly nicer lives. And it's those little improvements that make all the difference.

See www.regencybeauty.com to find out more about this Cosmetology school.
So I have been reading it. Well, it would be rude not to.

She has been caught up in the super-injunctions after some of the other celebrities she has 'worked with' have gone to the courts to stop her talking about them. One of them she already said she used a sex toy on.

This is the part of the story where I realised, we only care about these details because we have a very childish attitude to sex. If she just gave him a back massage we wouldn't care what she used on his back. But because it is sexual we want to know all about it.

So, in a bid to make the details of sex less giggle-inducing I thought we'd talk about sex toys on the blog today. Like the ones at www.hotgvibe.com which has a massive range of items. there are all sorts of toys for sex at Hot G Vibe. I looked at the site. Some of them I knew, some of them I could work out where they'd go. Some of them I had no idea about, but I image that's part of the fun.

But what all of these toys have in common is one obvious but often over-looked thing: they're all just objects.

They are inanimate objects (for the most part - or maybe I just haven't found the right switch yet) and they are in a shape that only has meaning when we attach meaning to it. If that object was left on a shelf it would only be just like any other object. But use it on an actor and it is restricted evidence because of a super-injunction.

Lucky Ryan

I'm the paper today it says Ryan Giggs' wife has taken him back, forgiven him for all the affairs BUT she refuses to star her wedding ring.
They have denied it even when it is plainly clear that they have made such a move.

I think the problem is the phrase, U-turn. It seems to imply a negative feel, like it is a bad thing to do. But have you ever made a U-turn? It's always the right thing to do and saves you a lot of time driving in the wrong direction.

So what we need is a phrase that means U-turn but sounds cooler, sexier, more impressive.
