National Athletic Trainers’ Association – Editorial Shoot

Over the holidays, my sister was notified that she was going to be featured in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association monthly magazine – NATA News. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training at Old Dominion University. She was asked for a headshot and a few shots of her in action to accompany the article.

So while everyone was home for the holiday’s we set up a small shoot at my parent’s house. The magazine just came out and the article is a full page “Student Spotlight.” Her headshot even made it to the cover of the magazine. It’s not everyday I get to photograph a family member for a magazine!

Hudson Valley Wedding – The Links at Union Vale

Brad & Bridget’s sunny, summer wedding weekend took place at two gorgeous golf courses in the Hudson Valley. They had a relaxing rehearsal dinner in an outdoor pavilion at the Trump National Golf Club. Then Saturday morning brought a wonderful ceremony at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Roman Catholic Church followed by a reception at The Links at Union Vale.

Time for a quick pre-wedding portrait just before the sun sets behind the trees.

I love when wedding parties are full of ideas and up for anything. You only get married once — might as well kick your shoes off and run through the grass!

…the smoke does make an interesting photo.

This next set of seven photos were all taken within minutes of each other. Just by changing my camera settings, I was able to create three different styles of dramatic lighting – all before the sun went down.

Entertainment and beautiful lighting provided by Enriquez Entertainment. I highly recommend lighting packages for your reception. Not only does it add to the ambience while you’re there, if your photographer knows how to control the light, it makes for stunning images.

Sparklers outside are a great idea and are the perfect way to end the first day of your new life together. Congratulations Bridget & Brad – it was a pleasure getting to know you and your families on the happiest day of your lives.

Aurora, NY Wedding – Aurora Inn

The historic Aurora Inn on the shore of Cayuga Lake was the setting for Elizabeth & Scott’s spectacular Finger Lakes wedding. The scenic inn was complete with stone ruins, a wide terrace, and a pier over the water – all which provided for some great photographs!

What could be better luck than a rainbow on your wedding day?

Geneva, NY Wedding – Ventosa Vineyards

Kathleen and Michael’s sunny springtime wedding took place on the shore of Seneca Lake (one of the 5 NY Finger Lakes) in Geneva, NY. The ceremony was held at St. Stephen’s – a beautiful stone church in downtown Geneva. Then it was on to the reception at Ventosa Vineyards. The rows of grapevines, painted murals, and setting sun that streamed through the windows provided the perfect setting for a romantic evening. There was even a peacock on the grounds. Music and dramatic lighting was provided by Paradise Entertainment. Congratulations Kathleen & Michael!

Gallery Exhibition – Bloodlines

To mark the opening of my new studio at 89 Court Street in Downtown Binghamton (across from the Courthouse), I will be showing a multimedia collection of work titled Bloodlines. Opening June 3rd for the First Friday Art Walk from 6-9 pm, on display will be framed prints, video clips, and a digital slideshow of photographs captured at the harness racing tracks of Upstate New York.

If you can’t make the opening, but would like to see the work send me an email and I will let you know when the studio will be open.

Proposal Video – Katie & Justin’s Surprise Engagement

Geocaching is a fun treasure hunting game using GPS devices to find hidden “caches” all over the world. You can learn more, find coordinates, and keep track of ones you have found here: www.geocaching.com).

Justin hatched a sneaky plan to propose to Katie (who happens to be my sister) using geocaching as a cover. Katie was under the impression that she was in a race against her family to find a hidden treasure using a GPS. As we all pretended to search for the coordinates, I went to my tripod and camera that were hidden in a cluster of trees. Using a telephoto lens and a microphone that I hid under the cabin in the video, I was able to capture the whole scene on video.

After finding the cache and thinking she won the game, Katie opens up the package to find a note from Justin…

Justin’s biggest challenge was trying to explain why he needed to take a shower before going geocaching (and suggesting Katie do the same).

Here are a few photos from the impromptu engagement session that took place afterwards. They just happened to be wearing matching outfits!

Website Design & Interior Photography – Bindela Construction

John Bindela of Bindela Construction is a Westchester-based builder who specializes in commercial and residential construction. I recently photographed a few of the luxury high-rise apartments in Manhattan that he had just completed renovating.

He was also looking for a clean, modern looking website to promote his business and I ended up designing that for him as well. NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade was the 250th anniversary of the first parade in New York City. Up to two million spectators crowded the sidewalks of 5th Avenue to watch. Unlike most parades, automobiles and floats of any kind aren’t allowed – just walkers!

I walked the length of the route capturing anything that caught my eye. Here are a selection of the photographs I took on the sunny March day:
