Logo Reworks

After handing in my original logo, my instructor gave me some advice for some reworks. I think the advice she gave really helped. I am hoping to continue work on these, and develop them even further. For the time being however, these are my reworks.

Bad Chef

Good Chef

Taking the Ref character from my last assignment, I gave him the career of chef. The point was to show him in that career and make one evil and one good, using objects and stereotypes of the profession.

Ram Thai (Thailand)

French Bastille (France)

African Dogon (Africa)

Currently working on a package design project, where we (my class) were asked to come up with three different designs based on the flavors or countries we were assigned. I was given France, Africa, and Thailand. These are my sketches for each of the packages. Except for the African Dogon package, I have altered the other two and gave it more of the angled composition you see in the dogon one, they are also much more zoomed in. I will be posting the finals shortly.

Thanks for looking and reading!

Edited SA Character Designs

2011-09-13T14:57:00.000-05:00

I was able to clean up the scans and get all the head shots with their character. I am pretty bad with coming up with names, and since that was one of the tasks for the assignment I couldn't get around it. I went with simple ones for both the Ref and the Fan. (pretty lame) I thought a little more about the name of the hero, and came up with Mr.X. The name comes from the X's and O's of football. The defense is represented by the X and the O represents the offense. Since this guy was the hero and therefore a defender, I decided to call him Mr.X. This one might also be lame, but still a little more thoughtful than the others.

Thanks for reading and looking!

Facial Expressions 1

Facial Expressions 2

These are my final scans for some character designs. This is for my sequential art class. The idea was to make a hero, villian, and average joe loosely based on ourselves. My initial sketches were pretty heavily based on me, but when I seen that other people were going completely in different directions, not really basing it on themselves at all, I decided to change it up a little. This was my first time inking completely with a brush and these scans are a little sloppy. I will have the edited finals up a little later in the week.

SB2010 Pt.3

2011-07-31T03:00:00.000-05:00

These are the final four, from one of my early sketchbooks of 2010. The Batman drawing is probably my favorite. It is a bit more comical look at Batman, pretty different from the serious ones I usually draw. Thanks for checking out the blog!
