Past - King of Pentacles - This card points to a time in your past where things were financially secure. It may be speaking simply to a time when you were more on top of your finances - saving more, spending more wisely, etc.
Present - The Star (reverse) - You are definitely having a rough time right now. I get the distinct impression of a string of losses and bad luck, each compounding the one before. I get the feeling that you didn't always live paycheck to paycheck, that there was a time when things were easier.
Future - Five of Pentacles - this is not generally a good card, it tends to point to more rough times ahead, specifically in regards to money and finances. However I get the feeling that it may simply be a matter that things have to get worse before they can begin to get better. If credit card or loan payments are an issue it may point to a need to get out from under the debts by refinancing or even declaring bankrupcy as a way to start over "fresh". If nothing else it points to the need to get yourself prepared to weather the storms ahead by cutting more corners, and pinching more pennies while holding on to the knowledge that nothing lasts forever and that this too shall eventually pass.

Past - 2 of swords (reverse) - I almost get the feeling that, in terms of the lay off, that someone pushed you under the bus. Present - 9 of staffs - Unfortunately the cards seem to point to you going through a period of difficulties and struggle. I recieved a request from one of my readers to do a general reading for both pairs of presidential candidates. It was something I thought would be interesting to do so I decided to see what the cards had to say.

I have very strong feelings about the upcoming election, but I put those aside, and rather then ask something like “who will win the election,” I chose to ask a neutral, overall question. (Note: For the record, my vote will not be cast because of a Tarot reading, nor should any one else’s).

I did two readings - one for McCain/Palin and the second for Obama/Biden

Question: What are the qualities of the McCain/Palin ticket?

Cards: King of Pentacles (reversed), The Emperor, Four of Wands (reversed)

King of Pentacles (reversed): Unyielding, someone who can identify weakness and often exploits it for personal gain. Someone who is well informed about material affairs, but ignorant of larger, more pressing issues. Blind devotion to business as usual, with little or no concern with the unintended results to others. Disdainful of new ideas. I definitaley get the sense of there having been a lot of delays and postponements reagrdin this move and I feel like it has all been a result of miscommunciation but also indecision.
I want to say taht there is a 3rd party that plays a role in this and it may not be utnil that relationship either deepns (or ends) that your mom will feel secure enough to take this next step.

That being said, when the move does occur (and signs seem to point to yes) it will all happen very suddenly with a flurry of activity and a need for speed. It will be easy to get caught up in fear and anxiety. The message is to treat it all as a grand adventure and enjoy the ride.

The Red Violin (a film by Francois Girard), starring Samuel L. Jackson, Greta Scacchi, Jason Flemyng, and Don McKellar. A mysterious historical tale of a violin that weaves through time creating an epic adventure that has been foretold by the tarot cards. The film begins in the past, and then switches to the present, and continues to weave the tale through a unique use of flashbacks across that seas and in several countries . (Note: be sure to have subtitles on because the scenes that are done in other countries the actors speak the native language of the country that part of the story is taking place in).

A friend of mine loaned me this movie because it had tarot cards in it. My husband and I really enjoyed it. It took awhile to warm up to movie, but the story pulls you in and as the story unfolds it gets more and more intriguing and builds to an exciting conclusion.
