Shhhhh!!! Don't Tell Mama, but I've invented a new way to clean my socks and take a little drinky at the same time. See..you reach out and get your sock wet and...... ....then you can get your little drinky. It keeps my socks just oh so "white". Perhaps you should try it the next time your socks get dirty and you're a little thirsty. Oh NO what is that noise? I think someone is coming!!! Hi Mama! Me? No, I'm not do'n anything!!!

Hello, if you have read my mama's blog before you know me, right? My name's Jake. I thought I might take Fridays to to tell y'all what my mama's up to. Who knows what it might be. It could be what she has on those wood sticks or some of that pretty soft stuff that she buys. Heck, it could even just be cool shots of me, cause you know I'm so purty. Well, back to my mama. She's busy with Clue 2 on her wooden sticks from the Moonfleet Shawl KAL. The KAL is from the The Unique Sheep. Here's a picture of the yarn she is knitting the shawl with:: Isn't that purty stuff? It's their Eos yarn. Mama loves to knit with it. Like I said she is on Clue 2 and just knit'n along. She's in the "Slow Lane". Oh, maybe I shouldn't have told you that. Sorry mama, I know you're going to catch up. I'm not going to show you a picture yet cause in lace it just doesn't look purty yet. She shows it to me and it looks sorts like a glob. Maybe when she finishes this this clue I can get her to take a photo. So much for my Friday update. Have a purrrfect week!!!!

I went to a Tea Party....Held by the Wonderful Woolgirl -

Yes I did go to a glorious tea party and it was sent to my home by the one and only Woolgirl. Do you want to take a peek? Come on let's look:: This beautiful kit was loaded. We even received a tin of Earl Grey Moonlight tea from Adiago Teas, a yummy and petite four in white chocolate from her local bakery BeavertonBakery. All the way up in the left corner is the teapot mouse pad note pad from Carol Wilson Fine Arts. Right in the middle of the picture is this teapot charm handcrafted by Laura Lundy of Slipped Stitch Studios. Do I have to tell you how gorgeous this little teapot would look on a chain. I'm sorry I haven't even touched on all the items, there are just so many great things. Jen puts together THE most GREATEST kits. This woman just has the gift. One of her next kits will be "CUPPA JAVA". If that is something that interests you go to Woolgirl website under KITS AND CLUBS . You might even find other kits that peaks your interest. I have heard something about mmmm Cupcakes. I think someone said somethings about "Cupcakes Make Everything Better" Go check it out!!!

Well I'm Not!!! I just believe in having the best tools to make your craft fun and exciting. A Boyle Electric Yarn Ball Winder was delivered last week. I ordered and received the following beautiful Sundara Yarn sock yarn: The colors are (left to right) Nile Discovery, Festival of Light and Marina Over Icicles. I'm totally in love with Sundara's yarn. When it arrived I wanted to try out my new electric yarn ball winder. So off I went. This is the greatest little machine!!!! I am so impressed To have a little machine wind your yarn instead of me winding is just a little wonder. It does make me feel a little spoiled, however it was not that expensive. As my DH says "You got it all, Patty". Later Gator

Just Ordered Me A New Sock Pattern - Come See

Oh guess what! I just killed two birds with one stone! I believe that's how they say it. I always read Irishgirlieknits blog We Do Not Have A Knitting Problem . Today I found a lovely surprise. She had posted a new sock pattern. It's name is Dotty and is named for her grandmother. I fell in love instantly. I thought oh yes, I had to have this pattern, then I read that she would donate 50% of the price of each pattern to Autism Speaks. What a wonderful thing for her to do. Please read what see said on her blog........ For this pattern I'm doing something special. As some of you may know, I have worked with children with autism for the past 20 years. For seven years, my organization has participated in the Walk Now events that raise money for children with autism. This year the Walk Now for Autism Speaks walk is June 5. From now until then, I will be donating 50% of the sales of this pattern to the Walk Now for Autism Speaks Event. I'll be participating in this event again and my fundraising page is here. I'm hoping this will be a small way for me to support many of the families and children that I work with! I am asking you please go to her fundraising page and DONATE to support her in the walk. Oh, the socks!! Would you like to see the sock? here they are in their loveliness. Later Gator.

Last night I was trowling iTunes and Amazon for what's new in my music world to upload to my IPhone. You will not guess this new album I stumbled across. I haven't listened to it yet, but thought my fellow knitters would be interested in this. I wouldn't ever expect to see a ball of yarn on a music album. I do need to check out the preview songs on it. It just might be a great one to listen to while we knit. Enjoy-

I notice that Jake was on the computer last evening trying to break the ice for me. Well, he is right. I am back!! I would just like to just start all over if I could. The last two years have been spent in my family genealogy. I have learned so much about both sides of my family especially my father's and their part of history. I'm not by far complete but will continue to work on my tree as an on going project. I do recommend that everyone do this. It is an amazing journey that you will travel. Now, for what I'm knitting. It is The Eternity Scarf by Michele Wang. You can find the pattern at http://knittingiskneato.blogspot.com. Oh hey, I better be brushing up on my HTML too!!! Here's mine about 17 rows out. My length is the same as the pattern, no changes made. I'm sorry my picture is not the best, I need to get to know my camera again. I'm knitting the scarf in the suggested Rowan lima yarn, Andes colorway. It's a delightful yarn to knit with. Well, I'll be on my way today. Later Gators!

Oh Dear So Sad....Our Deal Fell Through!

With a lot of anger in my heart I have to share some very sad news with you. The deal to sell our existing house fell through. :~( It is actually neither the buyer's nor our fault. It is due to a rule in our Association by-laws that was passed stating we cannot rent or lease our units. Did you know that your Association thinks they can control what you do with your own home that you pay the mortgage on? Well, they might think they can, but I'm seeking legal counsel to tell them other wise. This is a very long story and gets me all wired and angry all over again. It's been the reason I haven't been blogging because to be quite truthful it has threw me into a depression. I think I've been fighting the anger more than the depression. But at any rate, here we set waiting for someone else to fall in love with our condo and make an offer. Oh, let's talk about something that will lift our spirits....what do you say? A little yarn pr*n? Humm....Let's start with this beautiful Yarntini in the fabulous Woolgirl variegated colorway. I purchased this from my fab girl Jen at Woolgirl. Hey, but not only I love this color, my teddy bear, Fred just couldn't wait to get his hands on it. And of course I couldn't just get one from Woolgirl. I had to get me some gorgeous Kitty's Eyes of Union Center Knits. You can see why when you see it's colors. I mean...the black and white are for Jake's fur coat, the green is for his eyes and let's see....the pink is for? My favorite color. I looove it! Well, that's all for today. I hope you have a good Tuesday. Take care.

07/07/2007 Was A Very Good Day!

Yes my fellow knitters, 07/07/2007 we SOLD our house!!!! What a lucky day for us! To top it off we will be able to stay here and not have to move into an apartment until our new condo is finished. The buyer is willing to rent to us for the next three months. Whew! I was not looking forward to moving twice and putting most of furniture into storage. God works in strange ways. However, in the end he looked out for us. It's so nice we can look forward now and not be stuck somewhere between two worlds of the past and the future. I know mentally this is a huge weight lifted from me. I kept telling myself that this was not bothering me....but it was. So now to get to the closing on August 15 then I'll breathe much lighter. On my needles, here's a couple of pictures of Clue 1 of the Mystery Stole 3. I'm just about to start on Clue 2. My knitting is unblocked so you won't be able to see the pretty design. I'm not a lace knitter, but this is a fun project. And here's the other picture: I wish everyone has a great Monday!

Crawling up from this showing fog to blog.

I'm sorry I haven't checked in for so long. Time tends to get away from me at times. Especially since we're STILL going through the hell of selling this condo. Oh the ups and downs! Since the last time I blogged we have had an offer. However, if we wanted to give our condo away we would give it to a family member. This person was actually serious. He said well, since I want to put granite counter tops in the kitchen and rip out the carpet and put hardwood floors through the condo, we should have I guess come down in price and help him pay for these items. Anyway, we counter his offer and he decides that we are so lucky to receive his bid that he will not counter back. He told our agent he was doing us a favor? I'm not sure we even would want to do business with this type of person in the end any way. We have so many second showings. The people love it but they want more privacy. Can they plant trees? Can they tear out fencing? Hey people drive around the complex. Do you see fences torn down? All I can tell them is that you have to submit these type of things to the management board and it will have to be approved. One couple said that the condo appeared too nice and wanted to know why we were really moving...arg! Good news on our new condo. They are pouring the footers? (Don't ask me...that what Mr Stitches said they're called). Here's a picture. Oh, and there is Mr Stitches looking over his kingdom. LOL We met with the security people Tuesday afternoon to discuss the security system and where we will be putting all the computer, TV and computer network etc. Whew, that stuff took a lot of time we have to go back and complete tomorrow afternoon. It's amazing all that needs to be completed for the new condo. This construction company seems to do everything right. KNITTING......Yes, I have no pictures to show you, but I'm knitting and frogging the MS3. Why is it that my DH all of a sudden turns into a chatter box when I'm on a long line of lace. I tell him I'll answer him when I get done with the row, but my nice thought control just went out...

<p>I need to give a shout-out to Debby (she knows who she is) to let her know that I'm still alive and I'm sorry I haven't emailed for a time. Will catch up - promise. </p>

Needles? What's On My Needles?

I know I've been showing a lot of stash this week. I do have a couple projects on needles. I guess I can show you. Okay, you twisted my arm. My first project is one that everyone is knitting. I can now understand why. It's the Chevron Scarf in STR. I'm going to do something different this time and NOT tell you what colourways I'm using. You have seen these used together before. So I'll let you guess. Go ahead and tell me...You know them. The next project is my Monkeys...Monkeys...who's got the Mini Monkey Socks? That's right I'm knitting them in that purty PigeonRoof Studio's Blossom. I do have one other project on the needles but it is just a swatch. I am going to cast on for my swatch for the Mystery Stole 3. In fact that is the reason I must go now. See ya later.

An Update And A Little Show N' Tell

First I want to share with you that yesterday's showing just might be the one! We received a phone call from our agent last night and said the people just loved it. They loved everything thing about it. So much that they couldn't understand why we would want to put it up for sale? Can you believe that? They wanted to know if we had a problem with our neighbors or what? The reason we are building a new condo is that we need more room. When we down-sized to this condo all was taken into consideration with exception of my knitting and sewing. I have not been even able to have my sewing machine out since we moved in here. Our new condo will have a bonus room. Yea That I will have all for me. I just can't wait. It will be great. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!!! Okay on to my Show N' Tell.....First one: You are currently watching The Pink Panther. It is TVyarn brought to you by White Oak Studio. I really like this ultra soft and pettable sock yarn. If you look close, you can see a very pretty stitch marker on the label. Thank you for that Jana. Now, click on this and go to her etsy shop to check out all her TV program yarns. SECOND ONE: All of these yarns are Fabulously Zen Yarns from Zen Yarn Garden. You can purchase these yarns from her Etsy Shop and from her Zen Cart. Gosh, what can I say about these yarns except gorgeous, wonderful, yummy...on and on! I'll introduce them to you. Let's see (from left to right) The first two are her In-Sync Sock yarns. They have coordinating toe/heel yarn. Colourway for first is Strawberry Blonde and then Margaritaville. The next two are in her Superwash BFL Yarn yarns. Colourway for these are Bright Pearl and then Cosmopolitan. I hope you have enjoyed what I brought to Show N' Tell today. Please don't forget to keep your fingers crossed. May you have a truly pink day.
