I’ve seen plenty AR’s modded at the range, obviously legal, why can’t I even remove my stock w/o committing a felony!?

i have a ruger mini-14 , with a choate folding butt-stock with pistol grip, 2- 30round mags, the original 20 round mag and a 90 round drum magazine. the gun is brand new, never fired, all ive done is "prettied" it up a little. i am planning on taking the gun to a local,trusted pawnshop tomorrow to trade for a .357 magnum s&w revolver and get some cash on top of that… im hurting for money! i have read all the north carolina firearms laws and it seems to be illegal, but i see similar guns on the racks at every gun shop i walk into for sale to the public. between my house and the pawnshop there is currently a large police task force… looking for drugs, but i see atleast 10 police everyday, and atleast 3-5 cars being fully searched everyday. should i be worried about transporting my gun? i will ofcourse have no ammo, bolt open on the gun, magazines separate ,and will notify the L.E.O.’s immediately if i am pulled over. but should i be worried? could i get in trouble, or have my 00 gun confiscated? im hurting for money but im not hurting bad enough to lose my gun, or go to jail. FYI*** i am allowed to own guns, the gun was brand new in the box when i bought it…definitely not stolen, those are not my worries. any info will help me ,thanks! alright, i will rephrase the question… is my rifle illegal in n.c.? my gun only cost around 0 but with all the parts and accessories it was right around 00. i have read a list of guns that are banned in my state and the ruger mini 14 is on the list… check out the 2008 nc gun ban you should find the list. i sold the gun with no problem for 5 cash and a 0 revolver. thanks for the answers any way…

So I was putting out the breakfast bar this morning at work. We have huge cans of gravy that we have to start about 4:00 in the morning so it will be warm for the customers by 6:30 when they come down for breakfast. Anyway, the person who worked the morning before didn’t do her job and stock so all the gravy we had was locked up in the stock room and I wasn’t able to get to it until 7:00 when the maintenance man arrived with the key. Anyway, this one old lady asked me why we had no gravy out, and I apologized and told her why. I then said it was heating up as we spoke and would be ready in just a few minutes. I was already having a bad morning. Well, she looked at me with this go to hell look, sighed in disgust, and rolled her eyes at me. It just didn’t set right with me. I had a bowl of cold gravy in my hands and felt a strong impulse to just sling the gravy all over her and say "here’s your d@mn gravy!", not that I ever would, it’s just a thought. My questions is, other than being fired could she get me with any criminal charges if I had done it?
I’m just talking about slinging gravy on someone. There’s no way she could be hurt.

In CT, we’ve still assault weapon ban law in effect so we cannot have more than two "evil" features on the rifle if it’s semi-auto and has removable magazine. So if I put Dragunov style or Thumbhole stock stock on my semi-auto rifle is it considered as an "evil feature" pistol grip ?

i am planning on buying an AR tommorow. i want a .223 with a collapsable stock. i was thinking about a bushmaster, but what is the more expensive kind that will take the cheap ammunition that you can buy in bulk? someone told me that the cheaper 223 guns like the bushmaster only take the more costly hunting type rounds. what other easily found brands would yall suggest? im going off into the army in january and id like to secure that i will have one of these before i get back and obama has annihilated the second amend.
