A Very Nice Thank You

Matt, thank you so much for going above and beyond these past couple months. Two websites and a message kit with the shortest time line we have have ever worked with and everything turned out great. Cheers!
—Biodiversity Project Team

It's beeen busy lately...

Stop Time Studio has been hard at work, launching 2 new sites for Chicago's Biodiversity Project. In addition to this year's launch of The Great Lakes Town Hall (featured project), a sister site, Great Lakes Forever, was re-designed and re-launched. In addition to a complete front and back end transformation, a system was developed to help then manage, track, and vote on their yearly photo contest. Lastly, The 1 Mississippi Project was just launched, which is an advocacy site to help raise awareness of the perilous state this great river is in. All sites run the Drupal content management system, and 2 are hosted on our 100% guaranteed up-time server. Detailed portfolio pages coming soon!

Opportunity is Knocking

Indeed, it is not uncommon to see budgets being trimmed nowadays. However, it is important to think about the opportunity this is creating - trimmed marketing budgets mean less competition. Take advantage of this by keeping your website up to date and sending eNewsletters. You'll gain search engine rankings while your competitors start to lag. Keeping your brand in front of your customers, offering recession-busting deals and tips, will give you the leg-up when the fog clears.

Enhanced Site Search

Stop Time Studio just enhanced the Great Lakes Town Hall site search to include a suggested author search, similar to Google's suggested search. For example, if you enter "Gary Wilson" into the search box, it will not only pull up content containing the term "Gary Wilson," but it will also suggest "Looking for content written by Gary Wilson?" - see it in action. A primary goal of any website we do is to help people find what they're looking for, and this fits the bill nicely. If you're so inclined, Matt even tells you how he programmed it.

Soft Launch: Great Lakes Town Hall

Stop Time Studio recently launched version 2.0 of The Great Lakes Town Hall (view site). The project largely focused on a complete redesign, as well backend changes (moving all content and some 500 users from phpBB to Drupal). After a few more interface tweaks, the site will be ready for prime time and officially added to our portfolio.

Google Apps for Your Domain

Stop Time Studio was busy over the holidays migrating all email over to Google Apps for Your Domain (GAFYD). What does this mean? For starters, stoptimestudio.com's email is now managed by GMail, with extra spam/virus protection and backup from Postini. Basically, what this means is we get the best spam protection in the industry, along with automated email backups and tons of disc space. All for $50 a year (per user) AND we can keep our stoptimestudio.com email addresses. This alone removes a huge burden from system admins. Also included is the full suite of Google applications - calendars, office products, video hosting, chat, collaboration tools, etc. We're still exploring all the possibilities, but if you're interested in learning more and/or getting help with setting this up for your domain, please drop a line.
