Hey everyone!

I haven't had a chance to post in quite a while!!! I've been really busy working on several different projects that pretty much occupy 90% of my time! But I promise to make some time to keep my posts up to date!!

So some quick things I'd like to mention:

Kelly Osbourne at FNO

Hey Everyone,

Check out these amazing photos of Kelly Osbourne from the 2010 Fashion's Night Out. My sister, one of my best friends Violet Kanian and I attended the 2nd Annual event at the Rodeo Dr. Location, where we got to sample delicious champagne, NoJiitos (from Tiffany's) and got an opportunity to really stroll about Rodeo and take in the atmosphere.

Rumor had it that BCBG was providing swag bags to the first fifty people who came into the store. So the three of us set our watches and made our way over quickly before it was all gone. And as always, mission accomplished! The bags were filled with oodles of things to help every girl survive the fashion world. We recieved T-Shirts, the new falsies mascara, a spa gift card valued at $150, yet another gift card for a laser hair removal place, facial moisturizers, snacks and juice drinks to help rejuvinate you and the new Kelis Cd as well as tons more. They also had an amazing photobooth to take pictures with your friends.

Afterwards, we headed over to Juicy Couture to take pictures with the very handsome young men standing at the door front and then we made our way over to Hermes, where yet another set of handsome young men who had horse head gears; on were readily available for a photo-op. We then proceeded to go inside where we had the opportunity to view an amazing scarf tying demonstration, which was then followed by champagne and an amazing tour around the store which then led to my sister's and my love for all things Hermes (especially their China and jewelry).

Later on, we stopped at YSL and just gushed and fell in love with basically everything in the store. My sister vowed that her next purchase would be from YSL, and little did she know that fate had a surprise in store for her. On out way out, we noticed a contest for a new YSL tote bag, and I said to her, "Talin, just fill out some cards for us". So we sat down, quickly filled out the cards and left.

Several days later, my sister recieved a phone call and she won! She was so ecstatic and could hardly control herself while she spoke with the manager. The following day, she went returned to Rodeo and picked up the new love of her life. And to only finish off her victory she turned around to her Louis Vuitton bag (which she worked extremely long during the previous summer to save enough money to purchase) and said, "Sorry Louis, there's a new man in my life!" Talk about a wish coming true! Ofcourse I wish it had been me, but I'm more than thrilled that one of us won. Hopefully she's reading this today and will let me borrow it once in a while! (HINT HINT) .

So back to my story! We made our way down rodeo, and continued to go in at out of stores, until we walked into Tiffany's. Ofcourse when we realized that they had pulled out boxes and boxes of delicious icing for a girl to try on, we just melted! It was absolutely thrilling!

And then Violet and I caught a glimpse of a diamond so dazzling, so beautiful and so perfect in everyway! It was a gorgeous canary diamond the size of a sugar cube. And as we politely asked can we try it, and the ring gently slid onto Violet's hand, there was a moment of "Ahhhhhhhhh" and the lights from heaven just shined down on us. A girl can always dream!

Seriously?

To top off the night, we had the opportunity to get up close and personal and see the gorgeous as always Kelly Osbourne play a fashion game. George Kotsiopoulos (From Fashion Police) and Joy Bryant were participants of the game. As well as a few other people from the fashion Industry. While the game was interesting, I had really wished that they would have let audience members be involved in the game. But C'est la vie!

Afterwards, I was already beginning to feel the effects of my cold weighing me down, so I had to go and lie down in the car. This little fashionista was all fashioned out. I didn't want to spoil what little time we had left for FNO so I told the ladies to go on without me. So Violet and Talin attempted to infiltrate a very private party for industry people as well a few close personal friends, including Kevan Hall, of Katharine McPhee. And like always, MISSION Accomplished!!!!!

To sum it all up, FNO was a blast and we can't wait until next year! Hopefully next year will have a chance to attend FNO in New York and get another dose of fabulousness and amazing champagne! Soulmate

So I Couldn't help but post a picture here of my little soulmate. She can be a vicious little lady one minute and a lover the next... A lot like me!

She's one of four pets I have and she's the boss of the house! Oddly enough my house has always had pets with personalities. The kind that make an imprint and last a lifetime, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'll eventually post pictures of the rest of the furry family! So Enjoy!

Bonjour!

In my previous post I had mentioned that from now on, I would be posting my "Sketch of the Day" which are just doodles I make throughout the day, from design ideas to even the outfits I wore for the day. And I have recently become somewhat (or actually a lot) obsessed with the idea of cartoonish/broken down doll looking croquis that have elongated necks with blindfolds over there eyes with a very dark aura to them. Don't know why but I think I will continue to go in this direction. Here are the sketches that I've done this week so check them out!!!

Must Love Dogs the Movie

Hey everyone I just wanted to throw in a poem here that I discovered while I was watching the movie "Must Love Dogs" starring Diane Laine! In the movie her father recited the poem "Brown Penny by William Butler Yeats. It goes:

I WHISPERED, 'I am too young,'

And then, 'I am old enough';

Wherefore I threw a penny

To find out if I might love.

'Go and love, go and love, young man,

If the lady be young and fair.'

Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,

I am looped in the loops of her hair.

O love is the crooked thing,

There is nobody wise enough

To find out all that is in it,

For he would be thinking of love

Till the stars had run away

And the shadows eaten the moon.

Ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,

One cannot begin it too soon.

For some reason the poem stuck to me. And my favorite line is "I am looped in the loops of her hair" So poetic and romantic. It gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

Plans for the rest of this summer

So these last three weeks or so have really inspired me to get going on some nifty projects. I've been draping tons, as you saw in the previous posts, and I've even started working on recreating a skirt similar to the one SJP in Sex and the City 2!

Of course it won't be as extravagant because let's face it, L.A. is so laid back! But none the less I'll still rock it!! It's the first time I'm actually sewing for myself. So fingers crossed!! Hopefully it won't be a horrible train wreck!

I've also decided to do some styling (Gratis of course) for some very special, dear and important ladies in my life who hopefully will love it, and as always come out looking fabulous!!!! And with this process hopefully they'll pick up a few tricks here and there and fly the nest one day! :)

And of course as always I need to catch up on some sketching, flats and other things. But first things first (Art Supply shopping) I always stop by my favorite store Swain's in Glendale. The trick is to go during their ultimate and fantastic sale and pick up things for amazing two for one offers and low prices. So I'm counting the days until that happens. I've also been really inspired to paint lately so I gotta pick up a canvas and get going on that project.

With all that aside, I decided to go to the Community College I will be attending in the fall to finalize all the necessary paperwork so I can register for my classes, and not only was it one of the worst experiences I have ever had with my college life, but it was cruel and unusual!!! They made us stand outside in this deplorable, sizzling heat!! There was no fan, no complimentary bottles of water. And for an hour and a half I stood in line nearly dying (overly dramatic...yes...). And after it was all said and done, They made me walk around the huge campus back and forth between buildings only to give me some stupid and altering news. In order for me to clear to register, I have to make an appointment to see a counselor in September. That's all fine and dandy, except registration is August 2 and the last day to register is September 4. How that all calculates in their heads, I'm not quite sure. And due to budget cuts, the campus is closed Fridays, they're short staffed and it's turned into a madhouse!!!! I was so disappointed that in the 2 years since i last attended community college things have become so terrible. So what to do? Hopefully I'll be able to register in time and get the classes I get. I don't want to put life on hold for a semester because the school can't get things done in a professional or timely manner. (Had to rant there for a moment)

Now on to bigger and better things. I've been reading a lot of different books lately and decided I would share some of the titles and stories with you and hopefully encourage you to go ahead and read something!!!! The first booked that started my summer book obsession was How to Be an Explorer of the World by Keri Smith.

And as the cover states, it's a "Portable Life Museum". It's an amazing book/documentation journal that really helps readers open their eyes to world around them and discover all the wonderful things that go unnoticed during the day. I decided that before I begin my journey of exploration that I am going to read the book in all its entirety from cover to cover and then start and see where i end up. And not too long after this, I received a book from a dear friend of my called The Gospel according to Coco Chanel by Karen Karbo. It's basically a bible on how to live your life from wardrobe and style to everything else from the world's most elegant woman. So far I love it and found out that my closet follows Coco's directions to "T". Which of course is great news considering the higher standards I have to measure up to as a fashion designer. I also ended up purchasing a variety of books from the dollar bookstore in Burbank which include:

Three Modern French Plays of the Imagination (yes I can read French and comprehend what's going on)
The Works of Matthew Arnold (Poet during the time of Tennyson, Browning and Hopkins)
The Warrior Queens by Antonia Frasier (History of female leaders, queens and what not)
Along the Inca Road by Karin Muller

It's quite a list, but hopefully I'll be done before summer's end and I do plan on purchasing books, because I love them and their smell and because they're a $1!!! You can't beat a bargain like that!!!!!

Enough of this chit chat. It's getting late and it's time for this fashion designer to go dream up some amazing creations. Oh and I forgot to mention, the other night I had a dream that I was designing in collaboration with Rachel Zoe and it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!! Hopefully it's an omen of things to come!! I'm coming Rachel!!!!!
