Fun mysteries for the younger crowd.

Girl's Best Friend: A Maggie Brooklyn Mystery

Twelve-year-old Maggie Brooklyn has a dog walking business, a twin brother, and an annoying ex-best friend/frenemy. When dogs start disappearing from her neighborhood, and she encounters a suspicious vet as well as an agitated dog walking competitor, Maggie knows something is up. In her efforts to help her ex-best friend recover her dog, stolen for ransom, Maggie uncovers some interesting things, Nancy Drew style.

Belly Up

Twelve-year-old Teddy's life is somewhat unconventional, as he lives on the property of FunJungle -- the theme park/zoo where both of his parents work. When the park's mascot, Henry the Hippo, goes belly up, Teddy suspects foul play and is determined to figure out what happened. Turns out Henry wasn't terribly well-liked and the list of suspects who might have wanted him dead is long. The search for Henry's killer heats up as Teddy starts to fear for his own life!

Cinderella Smith #3: The Super Secret Mystery

Cinderella Smith's third grade class is about to start work on a new unit about endangered animals. When the kids take charge of the reports and decide to turn them into oral presentations instead, Cinderella wants to take hers to the next level and make it the most memorable presentation ever. Unfortunately, when she goes to the library to check out books about her animal, she finds that all of the books she needs are missing! It almost seems like someone might be trying to sabotage her amazing project. Suddenly, the hunt for her books is on, and she'd better solve the mystery soon, or she won't have a project to present to the class.

Horton Halfpott: Or, The Fiendish Mystery of Smugwick Manor; or, The Loosening of M'Lady Luggertuck's Corset

It all begins in Smugwick Manor when M'Lady Luggertuck loosens her corset (it's never been loosened before!). This sets off a chain of events in which all the strict rules of Smugwick Manor are suddenly abandoned. As a result of "the Loosening," a precious family heirloom goes missing and the Luggertucks look for someone to blame. Could it be Horton Halfpott, the kind kitchen boy who cannot tell a lie? Or is it one of the other many colorful cast members in this silly romp of a mystery?

Edgar Allan's Official Crime Investigation Notebook

First, Slurpy the goldfish is fish-napped from Ms. Herchel's fifth grade classroom, and then other small items start to disappear. Strangely enough, the bandit leaves behind a special poem after each theft! Edgar Allan is fascinated and can't wait to solve the crime. He writes all of his observations in his Crime Investigation Notebook and feels sure that he'll be able to put all the facts together. But he'd better hurry because know-it-all Patrick Chen is also on the case, and he's getting help from his dad, who is a forensic specialist. Edgar won't plan on much help from his folks (they are clowns by profession), but in the course of the investigation, he might just make a new friend or two. And friends can be the best crime-solving partners of all.
