Stothert and Pitt cricket club’s fixture list has now been updated to reflect the Bristol and District league fixtures.

This year indoor nets will be held at The Kingswood School Lansdown Road Bath BA 1 5 RG.

Date Thursday 23rd January 2014 and subsequent Thursdays till 3rd April 2014.

Time 6.30pm 8.00pm.

Cost £3.50 per person.

Top pitch preparation 2013

With the Bath and District football season coming to a close, it’s time for us to switch our efforts to start work on the top pitch for the forthcoming cricket season. We desperately need volunteers this Sunday 21st April from 1pm to start to prepare the wicket. If anyone can spare any time at all please come on down to the ground where there will be plenty to do!

With the first fixture just over two weeks away, scheduled for Sunday 28th please could contact either David Morris or Sam Vesey regarding availability. The friendly is against Combe Down at the glasshouses, Bath.

We are looking for players both new to the game and established, with four adult teams and two youth teams we’re sure we can accommodate your needs. Ground work 2013!

To all members who attended the ground today, thank you.

As i’m sure you will all agree a lot was achieved today and the good news is we will be doing it all again on Monday!

If you are able to help out on Monday it will be greatly appreciated, we will be starting work at around 9:30 again. Looking to finish the concrete (Dave and Phil just weren’t quick enough) and work on the exterior of the ground (Zoe, Carolyn and Michelle seem to have finished all the indoor work in just one day! Obviously excluding the men’s toilet which they have kindly left for Josh Parkyn).

The jobs left to do before the season starts include; putting the netting surrounding the ground up, assembling the site screen and covers and helping Brian finish the top pitch ready for the first home game of season. As you can see there is much still to be done and any hands we can assemble to help would be greatly appreciated. Remember, under a month till the season starts!

Club Weekend

Yes it’s that time of year when we start praying for the sun to come out in a couple of months so we can enjoy a fantastic summer of cricket. As always in order to fully enjoy the cricket season there’s a number of jobs to be done and preparations to be made down at the ground. To that end I’d like to invite you all and any other support you can drum up, to a works party on Friday 29th March starting from 9.30am. The more of us there are the quicker it all gets done!

Please bring with you any equipment that you think might be of use, shears, strimmers, cleaning materials for the bar area, vacuum cleaners etc.

Thanks in advance for any help or time you are able to give. Let’s make Stotherts a club to be proud of.

Cricket nets

Cricket nets for both adult and youth members are back on tonight at Beechen Cliff school. Thank you to all those players who have already been attending it helps support the club financially provide the nets and those who have not, it’s only 2 months till the season begins, please try to attend!!
