The 1st annual T.H.U.G. awards was held last night in Atlanta and the “A” was in the house!  Damon Williams (from BET’s comic view) and Griffy2k (Hot107.9) co-hosted the event and there were performances by Gorilla Zoe, Gucci Mane, DJ Unk and Block Entertainment’s newest artist (whose name I can’t recall but he was a real cutie ).   Also spotted were Young Buck, Lil Troy, Yung Joc, Shawty Lo, and a gazillion other people I can’t name.  I got exclusive access to them all and of course a few photos from the event.

Remember the 7 year old kid who stole his grandmother’s Durango cause he wanted to do “Hoodrat Stuff”?  Well he’s back… this time little Latarian Milton tried to beat up his grandmother in a Walmart after she wouldn’t by him no dayum chicken wings. I don’t understand why this is news and why they continue to let this child speak on television…this time he goes on camera to say he’s sorry for what he did to his grandmothers car and he’s sorry for what he “did to the people in the hospital.” He is now being evaluated for mental problems but this kid just needs a good ass whoopin…

Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott and Alicia Keys all get their own Essence Magazine cover for the month of June.  The magazine is featuring the 3 ladies in their annual “Black Music Month” June issue and all three are doin the dayum thang!  You can check out a sneak peak of the interviews over at Essence.com.

Fantasia (and her red hair) performed on American Idol’s top 3 elimination episode last night. I gave up on American Idol a long time ago so I didn’t see it when it aired so I searched for it this morning. I thought she did…um…well. But apparently Simon did not. Peep the look on his face after her performance….Classic!

Beyonce’s House of Dereon has launched “Dereon Girls” and while the clothes themselves may seem innocent enough (althought a bit trendy),  the advertisements have made waves across the net with bloggers everywhere ranting about the young girls featured in the ad posed provocatively in full makeup and high heels.   I vote “no” to this nonsense.

Atlanta will be hosting the first ever T.H.U.G. Awards tonight at the Rialto Center of the Arts.  In case you were wondering T.H.U.G. stands for “Tru to His/Her Urban Genius”.  The event, sponsored by The Source Magazine, will be hosted by Comedian Damon Williams and filming begans at 7:30. 

Paying tribute to artists, record label executives and industry playmakers with a comedic celebrity roast, T.H.U.G Awards highlights the achievements of those who rose above their impoverished surroundings to impact the world of music and entertainment. Among honorees for the star-studded event are Grand Hustle co-CEO Jason Jeter, Hip-Hop fly jock Greg Street, Rap-A-Lot Records CEO James Prince, fashion entrepreneur Gino Green and Swishahouse Records CEO Michael “5000″ Watts.

Jermaine Dupri and D-Nice give us a peek inside of the Ludacris Foundation Dinner last night.  D-Nice had his camera so I’m sure some hot shots from the event will show up over on his site soon.  The dinner was held at Luda’s new restaurant, Straits (793 Juniper St. NE in Midtown Atlanta). Did y’all make Bishop Don Magic Juan an honorary without tellin me…?  I promise you I didn’t get that press release.  No…for real Mr. Pimptastic was spotted at the opening of Alexander McQueens flagship store in L.A.    I wonder if that’s where he got that suit?
