I’ve seen you hitters come into the gym. Make a big noise with your one set training only to burn out and not to be seen again.

“I am glad I stumbled upon Mike as I was not making any gains doing high volume as Arnold was promising I would make. I think you are clueless, and have probably struggled with high volume.”

Nope. I do volume and gain very well. Besides, the volume should be cycled. Sometimes I do lower volume but not low volume. Other times I do higher volume. Works very well. This was ho Arnold trained. He did lower volume in the offseason then trained with high volume during precontest. If you trained with high volume all the time that’s your fault. Not arnold’s. Should have used some sense and listen to your body. Plus try eating a little bit more. That helps.

“Have you seen the male gymnasts? They don't even lift weights, they use bodyweight and yet they look like bodybuilders.”

Yes and they do high volume and frequency that built there bodies.

“At my gym I only see one or two that look like they are making any gains, and they do low volume to failure.”

Hmm, on steroids perhaps? Or, of course, you could be lying. I’ve seen guys in my gym make gains on volume. Hit just burns people out.

“Myself, I am in and out of the gym within 45 minutes and I am worn out afterwards. You should try it for 6 months, what are you scared of? Hard work?”

I can guarantee you volume would be harder than mentzer’s Hit any day. Try doing squats followed by leg press and leg extensions for 5 sets each with only a minute rest between sets for 8-12 reps. That’s hard. Then get up the next day to do the next couple of body parts. That’s hard. Or I’ve seen guys do full body workouts 3 times a week for an hour and a half. They train hard too but still do a good amount of volume. Like I said the best bodies in the world were built by volume. Fact.

Re: Heavy duty by Mike Mentzer...is it the Holy Grail? | Straight to the Bar

Ha, but are they top champions? Nope. Plus they always end up doing a variation of Mentzer’s system which most likely means they do extra volume and a higher frequency. Not only that they’re most likely on steroids. This was the case back in the 80’s when they had supposedly drug free trainers do mentzer’s Hit only later for them to admit they were taking steroids.

Re: Heavy duty by Mike Mentzer...is it the Holy Grail? | Straight to the Bar

You crack me up! Typical Mentzer follower response. The training system is highly flawed. Can pregnant women do this type of training? Or an elderly person? Or someone with injuries or disabilities? No. This training would not suit them. You really have no argument but instead just a very dogmatic idea of training. There are way better ways to train and are way more effective.

Re: Heavy duty by Mike Mentzer...is it the Holy Grail? | Straight to the Bar

You are a boring twit, you stick to your high volume, it suits you.

Re: Heavy duty by Mike Mentzer...is it the Holy Grail? | Straight to the Bar

You don't possess a scientific mind, and can't accept that less is indeed more.
