The Alu FSP 2X 2026 is designed for riders who want to make the most of onshore conditions. It gets on plane early and delivers an exceptionally lively ride, with a powerful tail that generates instant acceleration, upwind performance, and speed, all while retaining a radical surf feel.

Engineered to perform in onshore waves, the Alu 2026 combines a low tail rocker, a wide tail, and a relatively straight outline through the rear third. The result is excellent early planing and outstanding stability at high speed. Its easy-to-position nose lets you push your turns harder, while the thin rails and wide channels enhance grip, maneuverability, and control. When ridden strapless, its generous pop and concentrated surface area between the rider’s feet also make it a great board for tricks.

BARBADOS Kitesurf Paradise, episode 37 – Charlotte Consorti

Kitesurfing in Barbados: Welcome to Silver Rock!

Just 15 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport, on the south coast of Barbados, you’ll find a collection of kitesurf spots offering a little bit of everything: a stunning turquoise lagoon, open-water sailing and reef waves for those looking to step things up.

Silver Rock – the main spot

Silver Rock is a beautiful stretch of sandy beach, around 300 metres long, backed by a turquoise lagoon that makes it an amazing place to ride and progress.

A few things to know before rigging up:

• A wide sandy beach, although it’s worth noting that it is not particularly wide for launching, so extra care is needed during take-off.
• A beautiful lagoon with plenty of space to practise, improve your skills and enjoy long freeride sessions.
• Reef waves accessible just offshore, offering a fun playground for more experienced riders.
• Consistent trade winds, typically averaging 15–20 knots.
• Warm Caribbean water all year round — wetsuit optional!

Whether you’re working on your first transitions or looking for your next reef-wave session, Silver Rock has something to offer.

When is the best time to go?

January and February are generally considered the sweet spot for the best conditions, with reliable wind and great riding potential.

That said, the wind blows throughout the year, so Barbados can be a great kitesurf destination well beyond the peak season.

One thing to keep in mind: sargassum can be an issue from time to time. Some years bring plenty of it, while other years are much quieter — it’s simply part of the Caribbean experience!

A word of caution

At high tide, the shorebreak can get quite punchy, making both launching and getting back onto the beach more technical.

If the waves are up, take a moment to watch the spot before heading out, choose your timing carefully and make sure you’re comfortable with the conditions.

Getting to Barbados

Getting here from Europe is relatively straightforward, and British Airways often offers one of the most convenient flight options to Barbados.

Once you land, you’re only around 15 minutes from Silver Rock — which means you could be landing at the airport and checking the wind on the beach not long afterwards.

Turquoise water, steady trade winds, reef waves and that unmistakable Caribbean vibe… Barbados deserves a place on every kitesurfer’s travel list. 🪁

À savoir avant de partir Attention au shorebreak à marée haute, qui peut rendre les mises à l’eau et les retours à la plage plus techniques.

Comment s’y rendre ? Depuis l’Europe, British Airways propose souvent l’une des solutions les plus pratiques pour rejoindre la Barbade.

Sylt crowns World Champions in two disciplines as season closes

Unfortunately, Airton Cozzolino had injured himself in the previous heat and, despite advancing to the semi-final, was unable to compete. That automatically placed Lopes in 3rd, and set up the final: Gabriel Benetton vs. James Carew.
