]]> Congratulations to Bobby Gray, Strata-G Senior Project Manager, for being honored at this year’s SafetyFestTN for his long-standing contributions as an instructor and his impact across the electrical safety industry.

A recognized electrical safety expert, Bobby has served for 25 years on the NFPA 70E Technical Committee, taught NFPA electrical standards internationally, and supported DOE sites as a designated Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction. He also serves as chair of the NFPA 70E Chapter 3 Task Group, which is responsible for expanding safe electrical work practices to special equipment and occupancies.

Bobby also taught Key Changes to 2027 NFPA 70E, a four-hour session focused on significant updates expected in the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, which will be presented for adoption at the 2026 NFPA Conference in Las Vegas.

Thank you, Bobby, for sharing your expertise and helping strengthen electrical safety practices across our industry.

]]> Strata-G team members Charles Campbell (pictured far right) and Mike Burcham joined the JCI GT-1 (Green Tiger-1) Project at Clemson University in August 2023 (nearly 10 months in) and helped strengthen processes as Strata-G assumed expanded responsibility after January 2024.

Strata-G’s Gary Vaughn was added for additional field oversight, and the team worked intense schedules, including after-hours walkthroughs, to address Clemson concerns and help reset the relationship by June 2024.

GT-1 delivered energy efficiency upgrades across 99 buildings, including lighting, envelope, water and steam conservation, HVAC replacement, and Metasys integration, along with complex coordination and negotiations for roughly $10M of work in the final buildings (including $2M in change orders). In January 2025, JCI recognized the group as a Team of Perseverance, and Charles received a Perseverance Award.

Final acceptance was achieved at the end of January 2026.

A long-established but undermaintained community space, the site also included volunteer electrical work that did not meet current safety codes. The City’s goal is to honor past and present veterans by making safe, code-compliant upgrades, including plans to hang veteran banners on downtown power poles! Great work, Keith!

]]> Strata-G is delighted to be part of the Southern Ohio Cleanup Company (SOCCo), a joint venture led by Amentum with Fluor, Cavendish Nuclear, and four subcontractors: A2RGC, RSI Services, Strata-G, and Veolia. SOCCo was awarded a 15-year, $5.87 billion DOE contract to complete the cleanup and demolition of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio. Transition began in June, and SOCCo will officially assume responsibility on October 1, 2025. The work includes safely demolishing former plant buildings, remediating soils and landfills, and operating the On-Site Waste Disposal Facility, all part of DOE’s Vision 2031 to save taxpayers billions and prepare the site for reindustrialization. Strata-G is excited to bring our expertise and values to this historic project, working alongside our partners to deliver safe, efficient, and impactful cleanup for the DOE and the community.

Ray was honored for his lifelong dedication to service and community. In true Ray fashion, he chose to donate his monetary award to the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE) Foundation to support the purchase of a submarine conning tower, recognizing Oak Ridge’s vital role in the U.S. Nuclear Navy.
