As a storage device in which a member of Hard disk Play its important role. However, all the hardware components, the hard drive is relatively high failure rate of products, hard disk has a price but the data is priceless, the major hard drive manufacturers warranty regulations only for the hard parts of itself, and for storage of data which did not provide related to protection.

Getting the right look for a new office is an important thing to do; however it can be difficult to pick the right furniture.

You should take the time to get the right furniture, this is because it can make staff comfortable and it can create the right message to visiting clients.

So here are few things to consider in order to help you buy the most appropriate furniture for your new office.

1) Firstly, ask staff what they need from your office. This could mean buying furniture that is easy to adjust and placing furniture around the office so that it is easy to access and not positioned awkwardly.

2) Consider the size and colour of the furniture. To get the most from your office furniture you should spread it out through the office so as not to overcrowd a particular area. You also need to think about colour, as if staff need to be creative then you may want to pick furniture that is brightly coloured so as to encourage creativity.

3) Think about functionality not just style and aesthetics. There is no point buying furniture that looks amazing but that is difficult to use. You don’t want desks and cupboards that take up space yet do not meet the needs of your staff or your clients. It is always function over fashion.

4) A high price doesn’t always mean quality. Just because it costs a lot does not mean it will meet your office needs, so sometimes it is perhaps better to shop around and find more appropriate office furniture.

5) Finally, think of the future. Will the furniture still be suitable if you hire more staff? It is important to consider how the office can be rearranged if it is necessary to do so.

By taking these tips on board your new Austin executive suite will meet the needs of your company, will meet your employees’ working needs and it will also let your clients know that you mean business.

In today’s business environment, hiring a talented recruiter can be an invaluable asset to any company. An adept recruiter will be able to put a business one step ahead of its competitors by bringing in the absolute best hires available. One question that comes up over and over when companies are seeking a talented recruiter is: what makes a good recruiter?

Many companies have the outlook of hiring a recruiter purely based on past experience as opposed to the individual’s talent potential. A potentially talented recruiter can be taught the ropes and become successful in a matter of months. Although experience is always important, picking out a top recruiter will take more than looking at somebody’s resume. As with any job or position, there are certain traits that can be associated with success in the corporate recruiting profession.

Using a series of tests conducted by a corporate psychologist, the specific character traits that best serve a recruiter have been fleshed out. The testing involved both qualitative and quantitative evaluation of candidates, utilizing a series of scripts and conversations. The environment that a recruiter needs to perform in was also taken into account with the testing – a workplace that requires an eye for technical details, a mind to keep up the rapid pace and a stamina for a high-volume work load.

From the testing came four primary traits that should be inherent to a potential recruiter: Focus, Adaptability, Confidence and Empathy.

Focus: A great recruiter needs to be able to keep their eye on the end goal while processing a great amount of information. A recruiter will be collaborating with various individuals throughout the hiring process and getting distracted can come with the territory. The best recruiters will be able to hone in on the final goal of making the best hire.

Adaptability: Things don’t always go as expected in the recruiting world. A top tier candidate may fall through due to an unexpected reason. A talented recruiter should be able to adapt (roll with the punches) and make the best of any situation. Adaptability also equates to an individual’s ability to accustom themselves to any established in-house systems, such as applicant tracking software.

Confidence: A great recruiter must have the self-confidence to start producing for a company right away. Starting out timid and ‘testing the waters’ won’t help a company break into an incredibly competitive hiring market. A recruiter should latch their teeth onto a candidate and not let go until the job is done.

Empathy: Empathy is one of the most overlooked traits that should come naturally to any good recruiter. A recruiter should have the ability to empathize with their candidates on a number of levels, including evaluating their backgrounds, emotional responses and overall behavior. A recruiter should be able to get inside a candidate’s head – realize where they are coming from and why they are in their current mindset. In the end, this empathy will enable the recruiter to make a successful hire.

In today’s economy, finding a top tier recruiter should be a priority for any business. As more jobs become available, finding the best talent out there will only become more difficult. Only a recruiter, who has the ability to attract and hire top level talent, can put a company one step ahead of its competitors.

              Design

The design incorporated a munificent Britannia at the centre top with a shield and a reclining lion surrounded on either side by a representation of the continents of Asia and North America with people reading their mail in the two lower corners, bestowing the benefits of mail services to the countries of the world under British control. The Mulready illustration was printed such that it appeared on the face of the sheets when folded. The Mulready lettersheets followed the traditional lettersheet design and could be folded as normal while the envelopes were a diamond-shaped sheet which, when the sides were folded about a central rectangular area, became an envelope when the overlapping edges were pasted.

The Mulready illustration was effectively a very elaborate frank indicating that postage had been pre-paid. In the same way that the first postage stamps were issued in two values (Penny Black and Two Penny Blue) both the lettersheets and envelopes were issued in one penny and two penny values in the same black and blue colours as the same value postage stamps.

Demise

Rowland Hill expected the Mulready stationery to be more popular than the postage stamps but the postage stamp prevailed. The design was so elaborate that it generated widespread ridicule and lampooning, and in addition was perceived in some areas as a covert government attempt to control the supply of envelopes, and hence control the flow of information carried by the postal service (which had become solely a government monopoly under the reforms). Many caricatures (or lampoons) were produced by stationery manufacturers whose livelihood was threatened by the new lettersheet. Only six days after their introduction, on May 12, Hill wrote in his journal:

I fear we shall have to substitute some other stamp for that design by Mulready … the public have shown their disregard and even distaste for beauty.

Within two months a decision had been made to replace the Mulready designed stationery and essentially they were a folly. As a result of the uproar the stationery was withdrawn and a machine was designed and built to destroy the stocks.[citation needed] The Mulready stationery suffered an inglorious demise.

There was nothing to stop one from writing on the inside; consequently the Mulready wrapper was fundamentally akin to the present-day aerogram.

Pre-gummed envelopes as we know them today did not exist. The diamond-shaped sheet and the geometrically more complex short-arm cross-shaped sheet remain essentially the staple designs to this day. (As a point of interest: all mechanical printing devices from the Gutenberg press on are primarily designed to process flat rectangular sheets. Hence the illustration would have been printed using a press and then cut to a diamond shape. The number produced from any one sheet naturally depended on the size of the printing bed and to this day envelope printing and envelope manufacture have maintained a symbiotic relationship.)

              General

Boynton’s greeting card designs for Recycled Paper Greetings were at the forefront of the Alternative Cards commercial movement that began in the mid-1970s. According to RPG co-founder and president Mike Keiser, over 200 million copies of Boynton’s distinctive humorous cardseaturing an assortment of unnamed cartoon animal characters, spare layout, and droll messagesold between 1973 and 1995. The best known of these is a 1975 birthday card bearing images of four animals and the message “Hippo Birdie Two Ewes”, a pun playing on the phrase “Happy Birthday to You”. The card has sold over ten million copies to date. As the greeting cards were signed simply “Boynton”, many consumers assumed the creator to be a man. Boynton reports having been often asked if she was related to “the guy who does the cards”. (To which she customarily responded, “Only marginally.”)[citation needed]

Since the 1977 release of Hippos Go Berserk!, Boynton has published many children’s books, as well as several illustrated humor books for the general market. Her books are most typically for very young children, offered in the laminated paperboard format known as board books. Nearly all of Boynton’s books have been published by either Workman Publishing or Simon & Schuster. Four of her books have been New York Times Best Sellers: Chocolate: The Consuming Passion (1982); Yay, You! (2001); Consider Love (2002); and Philadelphia Chickens (2002), which reached the number one position on the list, and was on the list for nearly a year. Three Boynton books are on the Publishers Weekly All-Time Bestselling Children’s Books list. More than 20 million copies of her books have been sold.

In 1996, Boynton began writing and producing songshich she has described as “renegade children’s music”ith composer Michael Ford; these songs have been released as albums (Rhinoceros Tap, Philadelphia Chickens, and Dog Train) and also published as book and audio disc sets. The tracks were recorded, under Boynton’s direction and Ford’s musical direction, by an eclectic roster of actors and musicians, including Blues Traveler, Meryl Streep, Alison Krauss, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, Kevin Kline, Laura Linney, “Weird Al” Yankovic duetting with Kate Winslet, Patti LuPone, The Bacon Brothers with Mickey Hart, Eric Stoltz, the Spin Doctors, Mark Lanegan, Hootie & the Blowfish, Natasha Richardson, Billy J. Kramer, Scott Bakula, Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, The Phenomenauts, and Davy Jones of The Monkees. Boynton received a 2003 Grammy nomination for Philadelphia Chickens. All three of these albums have been certified gold by the RIAA. Her fourth album, Blue Moo: 17 Jukebox Hits from Way Back Never, was released in November 2007, and includes tracks sung by Brian Wilson, Neil Sedaka, B.B. King, Sha Na Na, Bobby Vee, and Gerry & The Pacemakers.

She has written the text for four choral pieces composed by Fenno Heath, Director Emeritus of the Yale Glee Club, all of which have been performed by the Yale Alumni Chorus on international tour.

In 2008, Boynton ventured into filmmaking, creating and directing music videos of her most popular recorded songs. Her first music video, to be released in November 2009 as a book/DVD combination, is One Shoe Blues, starring B.B. King and a cast of assorted sock puppets. In development are Penguin Lament starring John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, Philadelphia Chickens which is mostly animation and includes cameos by Kevin Bacon and Michael Bacon, and the fully-animated Cows.

Boynton is the subject of a February 17, 2008, New York Times Business section profile, entitled “The Power of Whimsy”.

Biography

The third of the four daughters of Jeanne (ne Ragsdale) and Robert W. Boynton, Sandra was born in Orange, New Jersey, and grew up in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her father was a noted progressive educator, scholar (collaborating on textbooks with Shakespearean scholar Maynard Mack), and publisher and co-founder of Boynton/Cook Publishers, now owned by Heinemann.

Boynton’s parents became Quakers when she was two years old. From kindergarten through 12th grade, she and her sisters attended Germantown Friends School, where their father taught English and was Head of the Upper School. Boynton has frequently cited as central to her own “upbeat offbeat” sensibility Germantown Friends arts-centered curriculum, as well as its thorough integration of the values of pacifism, independent inquiry, and individualism. She also spent part of her 10th grade year at Ackworth School near Pontefract, England.

She went on to Yale, entering in 1970 in the college’s second year of coeducation. She spent the second semester of her junior year studying in Paris through Wesleyan University’s program. At Yale, she majored in English, and also sang sporadically with the Yale Glee Club; she had joined the Glee Club when additional singers were needed for a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at Carnegie Hall, under the direction of Leopold Stokowski. Boynton has described herself as “an enthusiastic but undistinguished alto.” At her graduation from Yale in 1974, she received a Special Master’s Magna solemnly bestowed by Charles Davis, the Master of Boynton’s residential college, Calhoun College. Unbeknownst to the graduation audience, the honor was actually a fiction. Boynton’s grade point average did not in fact entitle her to any degree honor whatsoever; but shortly before the ceremony, she had told Professor Davis in mock earnest that “my parents are here, so I really appreciate it if you could just mumble some Latin after my name.”

She studied Latin for five years in high schoolot so much out of a scholarly passion for classics but rather as an avoidance of science classes, the scheduling of which invariably conflicted with Latin. During her undergraduate and graduate years, her teachers included Cleanth Brooks, Harold Bloom, Richard B. Sewell, Maynard Mack, Maurice Sendak, Richard Gilman, Rocco Landesman, David Milch, Stanley Kauffmann, and William Arrowsmith. In an autobiographical talk given at Yale in 2002, “The Curious Misuse of a Yale Education”, Boynton refers to her book Grunt (an illuminated book and recording of plainchant in Latin and Pig Latin) as “the culmination of a lifetime spent joyfully squandering an expensive education on producing works of no apparent significance.”

Boynton intended to become a theater director. For graduate studies in drama, she attended the University of California at Berkeley for one year, then transferred to the Yale School of Drama D.F.A. program, but she did not complete the program. With the birth of her first child in 1979, Boynton postponed indefinitely a career in the theater, judging the demands of that profession not easily compatible with raising a family. She has been slowly returning to directing work: in May 1995, she wrote and directed a benefit reading, On Stageeaturing Jill Clayburgh, Joe Pacheco, and Jane Curtinor Sharon Stage in Connecticut; in November 2005, and again in November 2007 she presented songs from Philadelphia Chickens, Dog Train, and Blue Moo at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage; and in November 2006, she directed her son Keith in his own play, The Quotable Assassin, Off-Off-Broadway at Alternate Stages.

In 1978, Boynton married a fellow Yalie, the writer and Olympic athlete Jamie McEwan, bronze medalist in the 1972 Summer Olympics in the C-1 event. McEwan was also in the 1992 Olympic Games, placing fourth in doubles canoe; in 1991, Boynton and McEwan moved with their children to the Hautes-Pyrnes region of France for a year, so that McEwan and his doubles partner, Lecky Haller, could train with the French team. McEwan has been a member of several whitewater expeditions, to Mexico, Bhutan, British Columbia, and a National Geographicponsored descent of part of the Tsang-Po River (Brahmaputra) in Tibet, an ill-fated trip detailed in The Last River by Todd Balf, and in Courting the Diamond Sow by expedition leader Wickliffe W. Walker. Boynton has illustrated two of McEwan’s five children’s books. They have four children: Caitlin McEwan, an actress; Keith Boynton, a playwright; Devin McEwan, a whitewater racer and member of the 2001 U.S. Team; and Darcy Boynton, a student. All four children are singers as well, and each performed on the Philadelphia Chickens recording.

Awards

Boynton received the Irma Simonton Black Award for Chloe and Maude, the National Parenting Publications Gold Medal for Barnyard Dance and for Your Personal Penguin, a Grammy Award Nomination for Philadelphia Chickens, the Eustace D. Theodore Fellowship (Yale University), the National Cartoonists Society Greeting Card Award for 1992, and the National Cartoonists Society Book Illustration Award for Blue Moo: 17 Jukebox Hits From Way Back Never, in 2008. She is the 2008 recipient of the Milton Caniff Lifetime Achievement Award, the National Cartoonists Society’s highest honor.

Gilbert was educated at St John’s College, Cambridge; after gaining his MD from Cambridge in 1569, and a short spell as bursar of St John’s College, he left to practice medicine in London. In 1600 he was elected President of the College of Physicians (not by that point granted a royal charter). From 1601 until his death in 1603, he was Elizabeth I’s own physician, and James VI and I renewed his appointment.

His primary scientific work was De Magnete, Magneticisque Corporibus, et de Magno Magnete Tellure (On the Magnet and Magnetic Bodies, and on the Great Magnet the Earth) published in 1600. In this work, he describes many of his experiments with his model earth called the terrella. From these experiments, he concluded that the Earth was itself magnetic and that this was the reason compasses point north (previously, some believed that it was the pole star (Polaris) or a large magnetic island on the north pole that attracted the compass). He was the first to argue, correctly, that the centre of the Earth was iron, and he considered an important and related property of magnets was that they can be cut, each forming a new magnet with north and south poles.

The English word electricity was first used in 1646 by Sir Thomas Browne, derived from Gilbert’s 1600 New Latin electricus, meaning “like amber”. The term had been in use since the 1200s, but Gilbert was the first to use it to mean “like amber in its attractive properties”. He recognized that friction with these objects removed a so-called effluvium, which would cause the attraction effect in returning to the object, though he did not realize that this substance (electric charge) was universal to all materials.

The electric effluvia differ much from air, and as air is the earth’s effluvium, so electric bodies have their own distinctive effluvia; and each peculiar effluvium has its own individual power of leading to union, its own movement to its origin, to its fount, and to the body emitting the effluvium.

e Magnete, English translation by Paul Fleury Mottelay, 1893

In his book, he also studied static electricity using amber; amber is called elektron in Greek, so Gilbert decided to call its effect the electric force. He invented the first electrical measuring instrument, the electroscope, in the form of a pivoted needle he called the versorium.

Like others of his day, he believed that “crystal” (quartz) was an especially hard form of water, formed from compressed ice:

Lucid gems are made of water; just as Crystal, which has been concreted from clear water, not always by a very great cold, as some used to judge, and by very hard frost, but sometimes by a less severe one, the nature of the soil fashioning it, the humour or juices being shut up in definite cavities, in the way in which spars are produced in mines.

e Magnete, English translation by Silvanus Phillips Thompson, 1900

Gilbert argued that electricity and magnetism were not the same thing. For evidence, he (incorrectly) pointed out that, while electrical attraction disappeared with heat, magnetic attraction did not (although it is proven that magnetism does in fact become damaged and weakened with heat). It took James Clerk Maxwell to show that both effects were aspects of a single force: electromagnetism. Even then, Maxwell simply surmised this in his A Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism after much analysis. By keeping clarity, Gilbert’s strong distinction advanced science for nearly 250 years.

Gilbert’s magnetism was the invisible force that many other natural philosophers, such as Kepler, seized upon, incorrectly, as governing the motions that they observed. While not attributing magnetism to attraction among the stars, Gilbert pointed out the motion of the skies was due to earth’s rotation, and not the rotation of the spheres, 20 years before Galileo (see external reference below).

Gilbert died on 30 November 1603. His cause of death is thought to have been the bubonic plague.

A corner computer desk can be a really handy type of desk to have, you get maximum efficiency for the amount of space that is used. They also come in a variety of sizes, from a small and upright design, to a design that has side tables or desks that extend away along one or both walls. The corner desk has become much more popular since the advent of the personal computer. More homes have need of a work center or desk, and with limited space, the corner computer desk is the answer for many people.

If you are in the market for a new desk, a corner computer desk may be just what you need. But you don’t want just any desk though, you want to get a good one that will last, not one that you have to replace in a few years. One manufacturer that has been around for over 30 years is Office Star Products. They are involved in fabrication, importing and distribution of a wide range of office furniture. Over the years they have developed a reputation for value, quality, and service.

Office Star has multiple lines of office products. Their lines include: Space, Worksmart, Proline, OSP Designs, and Ave-Six, their newest line which is designed to “furnish your lifestyle”. They also have full modular office furniture lines (OSPF Lounge, OSPF Metal, and OSPF Casegoods) that are designed for large contracts, which they do have with some state governments.

There are a few other things that I like about Office Star Products. The first is that they work extensively with online retailers, shipping directly to their customers homes. Besides this being a great service to offer to customers, they offer full support to their e-tailers thorough advertising graphics, literature and product photographs. Since more and more people are shopping online, it is great to see more companies catering to these customers. And, as someone who lives in a remote area, it opens up more shopping possibilities.

The second thing I really like, is that they take their responsibilities to the environment seriously. In their offices they recycle as much as possible. This includes using shredded paper for packing material, recycling all water bottles and cans, cardboard and plastic wrap. They also send all of their electronic waste, light bulbs, unusable metals, and batteries to be recycled. Besides recycling their waste, they also use metal, foam, plastic, and foam in their products that can be recycled by the user when the item has come to the end of its usable life. Lastly, they offer a wide range of upholstery fabrics, and some of they are made from recycle fabrics.

When it comes to the corner computer desk, Office Star Products offers a great, trendy, space saving design. They main one I like is upright and comes in three different wood veneers, with silver metal accents and a glass work surface. The hutch offers extra space for storing books, computer programs or other knick knacks.

Next time you are in the market for a great corner computer desk or other office furniture, make sure to check out the company as well as the product. There are many responsible companies out there that produce high quality products for a competitive price, and Office Star Products is just one of them.
