Mounting the Streamlight TLR® Series Lights

Streamlight® Waypoint®

I bought the Waypoint® for my father for Christmas. His other cordless spotlights were rechargeable and lasted less than 1 hour per charge and eventually quit holding a charge at all. The Waypoint is not rechargeable, but with a set of alkaline batteries it will burn bright for close to 8 hours of constant use and you don't have battery memory issues that eventually come with over charging. The Waypoint is not as powerful as a 1+ million candlepower spotlight running on DC power, but in my opinion when portability is a requirement it is more dependable than a rechargeable spotlight. Overall a good buy!

As with all of Streamlight's C4 LED products, the Stinger LED delivers what it promises; brilliant white light and plenty of run time between charges. My department issues the incandescent Stinger, bit it pales by comparison to the C4. Several of my coworkers have asked me to order one for them as soon as they see it in action. Low and medium settings are great for reading, high provides a long reach spot as well as plenty of side-spill for room and yard searches, and the strobe is excellent for disorienting an adversary (besides being quite an attention getter with a traffic wand attached). I highly recommend it.

This is one awesome flashlight! During my New Years Eve celebrations I used the light with good results. I could even point it at low clouds and light them up. When it came time to light fuses I had no problem seeing the fuse. I would highly recommend this light for someone who really needs light to see by at night time. This light is so bright, the beam can even be seen on the ground during the daytime sun light. One word of caution: Do not look directly into the light source! This could be damaging to the eye retina.

I am out in the woods a lot hunting, hiking, or camping and sometimes I don't have enough hands to carry everything. I bought the ClipMate® (part #61102). It clips to your hat and has a handy elastic strap headband and lanyard. With three LEDs and up to 40 hours of runtime on 3 "AAA" batteries, there is no reason I am not prepared when it gets dark. I also have one in my basement in the event of tornado warnings or loss of electricity. Living in the middle of tornado alley, I have to be prepared and after getting this light, candles just aren't effective anymore.

Streamlight® Key-Mate® Review

Of the Streamlight flashlights I own, I must admit that the light I use the most is the Key-Mate® (part #72101). I take it with me everywhere I go as I have found that it has proven very useful on numerous occasions. It is just over 2 inches in length; just small enough to attach to a key ring, but not so small that it gets lost in the bunch. Besides the easy-release key ring connecter it also features a pocket clip on the side. Since it weighs just under an ounce with the batteries it really doesn't add much weight to your keys or a pocket. This flashlight is made from durable aircraft-grade aluminum and comes in either black, titanium, or Realtree® Camo. The 100,000 hour lifetime LED is available in white or green. It runs on 4 alkaline button cells that provide up to 96 hours of runtime. It is also o-ring sealed to protect it from the weather, or my personal favorite, dropping it in a puddle as I go to unlock my car. The white LED in the Key-Mate® puts out 10 lumens of light, which I have found to be enough to light up a hallway staircase and to outshine an LED camp lantern during a recent power outage.

Excellent light. First saw it used by a police officer who said it is his backup flashlight. Great power to read addresses etc. as well as normal uses at less power. WayPoint™

Like the PT™ series, the WayPoint™ had a much anticipated arrival. I took the opportunity to open the first package and inspect for myself this unique new light. My first reaction was one of surprise regarding the overall size of the WayPoint™. It is smaller than I had imagined it to be based upon the pre-launch information and pictures released from Streamlight®. It has a very comfortable natural grip, void of any raised seams or mold lines that could cause hand irritation after holding on to it for an extended amount of time.

Overall it is a nice solid product and is well made. The WayPoint™ has a Lumen output rating of 210 and a run time of over 8 hours. What is important to note here is that the lumen output will decrease proportionate to time used. This is a good example of the major difference in performance between alkaline vs. lithium batteries.

One feature of the WayPoint™ that should be noted is that it has an integrated ratcheting stand on the top of the light. All you have to do is rotate the stand and flip over the light to aim it where you need the light. A good hands free feature, especially if you are stuck on the side of the road changing a tire.

After a long awaited arrival, the all new PT™ series from Streamlight® has finally arrived. I have to say, they are well worth the wait! All four versions of this little light are an example of the innovative skills of the Streamlight® design and technology team. Smaller in length and diameter than other lights offered by Streamlight with a comparable output, these lights are a true blend of form and function.
Take for example the PT™ 2L, my personal favorite. It has an overall length of 4.68 inches and a diameter of .9 and weighs just 2.8 oz. The best part is that it has a lumen output of 180! All I can say is Wow. If you have not ordered one of these, you should. They are going fast.
