Below, get your hands on the teaser mix they've put together of the longer version, which you can download on the group's website. It also includes one of the raddest remixes we've heard in a while: their slithering, drunk-with-lust edit of the (maybe) anthem of the summer, "Fuck Work" from Cubic Zirconia. CZ dropped knowledge with a remix EP already of their unabashed single (edits from Jubilee, Dam-Funk, Dances With White Girls, etc.), but we think this one is fucking retarded good.::::::::::::::::

Streetlab have recently had their music included in the Apple App "Tap Tap Revenge 2", HBO's "Entourage" series, and the boys make a special appearance next weekend at BEMF in Brooklyn.::::::::::::::::

And being that we are the most credible and authentic voice in emergent music, we decided that its not enough to just post these artists' music on our Next 1000 site. We needed to do more to showcase the great music and talent that invades our digital consciousness every week. So, every week, URB.com will feature on the homepage every Monday, the "Next 1000" Artist of the Week. So if you're tired of the retreads invading your webspace everyday, and are thirsty for something more creative, something more underground, then come back to URB.com every Friday and get hit with something FRESH.::::::::::::::::

This week's pick is a production duo straight from NYC, Streetlab. Members coZ and rYan base their music on the ability to make rock and dance music the same...so there are no excuses for being a wallflower! Just to name a few, Streetlab has taken music from artists like the Beastie Boys, Hot Chip, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, and Crystal Castles and added their own funk. So, check their music, and if you like what you hear, go vote Streetlab over on the Next 1000.::::::::::::::::

I first came across Streetlab earlier this year on the pages of Going.com. But before then, they had a remix played on the BBC's Radio 1, the guys have released their first track on RCRD LBL/Downtown for free download and are playing a bevy of live shows in NYC and hopefully soon abroad.::::::::::::::::

Streetlab might bring to mind old-school bigbeat acts like the Chemical Bros and Crystal Method, but their sound is all their own with a harder and four-four rock rhythm which is straight up for dancing. You can hear it in the stuff they produce as well as in their choice and style of remixes. It comes as no surprise that their SELEKTOR mix is tinged with their own recuts of some pretty big rock tracks as well as original tracks from their new EP.::::::::::::::::

So now that you know who they are, or at least a little bit more about them, I'm psyched to share their SELEKTOR mix, made exclusively for Subdrive, to help promote their new EP out now at all digital shops and on a cool limited-edition USB-wristband format.::::::::::::::::
