nachdem ich ja schon hier von der Freiheit statt Angst Demonstration in Berlin am 12.09. berichtet habe, bin ich nun endlich mal dazu gekommen, auch die passenden Bilder dazu online zu stellen. Zum einen hab ich ein Album mit 35 Bildern erstellt, die ich am Besten finde. Darüber hinaus gibt’s noch ein weiteres Album was so ziemlich die gesamte Demo abbildet. Dabei habe ich mich auf eine Straßenbank bei “Unter den Linden” gestellt und die Demo von vorne bis ganz zum Ende photographiert. Herausgekommen sind dabei ca. 350 Bilder von denen ihr im zweiten Album 113 findet, die was geworden sind Die Demo selbst war klasse und hat Spass gemacht. Insbesondere die Kreativität (wie auf den Bildern zu sehen) hat mich öfter’s mal Lachen lassen – auch wenn man über den Anlass der Demo nicht lachen kann!

So müssen wir derzeit erleben, wie in Deutschland immer mehr Bürgerrechte und Freiheiten im Namen der “Sicherheit” eingeschränkt werden. Das dies äusserst fragwürdig ist, brauch ich glaub ich nicht groß weiter erklären. Es ist schon erschreckend, wie ausgeliefert wir Bürger heute dem Staat gegenüber stehen, der durch eine immer wieder betonte (rein abstrakte) Bedrohungslage immer neue Sicherheitsgesetze verabschiedet. Diese sind dabei vielfach weder effektiv (also möglichst zielführend) noch effizient (also angemessen) und dienen mehr zum Selbstzweck. Nach dem genialen “Du bist Terrorist” Video gibt es nun den Nachfolger, der ebenso genial wie überzeugend ist. Guck-Pflicht!

Ach ja, hier noch was Schönes. Via Netzpolitik.org bin ich gerade auf dieses PDF gestoßen, in dem Daniel Schultz unter dem Titel “Zensursula – eine Rückschau” eine chronologische Betrachtung über die Entstehung des Zugangserschwerungsgesetztes anstellt. Beeindruckend!

guess what, now I’m really in India! To be precise – in New Delhi After lots of stress on tuesday to clear out my room and get the last things done, wednesday morning I flew to Helsinki. It was a comfortable flight and I met a nice German women who was as well on the way to India. In Helsinki we had 4 hours to wait but time flew by due to a great conversation The flight from Helsinki to Delhi was simply awesome. No turbulences, really smooth, nice neighbor, good meal and enough space – thanks to Finnair The Norwegian women to my right was very entertaining and I got an invitation to visit her in the next two weeks in Rajasthan – maybe I gonna do that Check-out in Delhi was fast and “europe-like” and thus I was hitting Indian ground at half past four The driver from the University was already waiting for me and brought me to the campus. That was my first “alright, this in India” experience The driver wasn’t speeding, which was impossible anyhow due to regular bumps on the “road”. More frightening was the “driving without seeing”… Due to the humidity in the air the window got wet, the lights were bad and the “road” not marked: I sometimes could not see 5 meters foreward and at one point we had to go back, because he obviously was on the wrong lane due to no sight… Anyway, I arrived save and got guided to my room in the guesthouse: “Sir, would you like to have tea at 7?” “What, that’s in 2 hours!” “Oh, you wanna sleep a bit?” “Yes, maybe until ten?” “Breakfast is at eight!”… So I haven’t slept much so far. Breakfast was indeed great with really good sandwiches I used the rest of the day to organize my environment (setting up internet etc.) and spent quite some time to install Tor in order to get an unblocked access to the internet, thus circumventing the restrictions here on campus… Moreover I bought some Skype credit and was able to call family and friends in germany over skype via my iPhone – great Weather is fine. It’s really warm but ok. Room’s ok as well and I got a little bathroom which only I use, so everthing’s really great As I’m here living on the campus I already met all the Indians that I know from Germany (they were there for a two month long exchange) and tomorrow they are going to show me Delhi a bit. The campus is on the outskirts of Delhi and no real public transport system in place, so probably I’ll have to find an accommodation in Delhi over the next couple of days cause the TERI Institute I’m going to work with is in the center and thus hard to reach from TERI University. Tomorrow I’ll make some pictures so that you get an impression of where I am right now. I guess that’s about it. So far everything worked out really well and I’m looking forward to see Delhi tomorrow

nur kurz noch mal an dieser Stelle ein Hinweis auf die große Demo am Samstag. Unter der Überschrift “Freiheit statt Angst” haben sich 163!!! Organisationen zusammengeschlossen und wollen für ordentlich Aufmerksamkeit sorgen. Wofür bzw. wogegen sich die Demo richtet, könnt ihr besser bei den Aufrufen von Netzpolitik.org, CCC oder dem AK Vorrat nachlesen. Die Demo ist Teil eines internationalen Aktionstages und soll darauf aufmerksam machen, dass immer mehr unserer Bürgerrechte und Freiheit eingeschränkt werden. Dies können und dürfen wir nicht weiter zulassen. Daher rufe ich alle auf, sich an dieser Demo zu beteiligen. Wer sich noch fragt, warum, sollte sich unbedingt den genialen kleinen Film hier angucken – denn auch du bist Terrorist…!

In diesem Sinne sehe ich hoffentlich viele von euch am Samstag um 15 Uhr auf dem Potsdamer Platz

als ich gestern Abend hier in Osnabrück Nachrichten schaute und der Sprecher im Heute-Journal verkündete, dass die Berliner S-Bahn mal wieder still steht, hab ich gedacht: Wat, wie jetzt??? Schnell mal beim rbb vorgesurft und gefreut, dass ich im Sofa lag – sonst wäre ich umgekippt… Ob ihr’s glaubt oder nicht, der S-Bahn steht momentan mal wieder nur EIN VIERTEL ihrer Züge zur Verfügung. Es gibt wieder einen Notfallfahrplan – der sich wie gehabt ständig ändert – und ein Großteil der Strecken ist stillgelegt. So natürlich auch wieder die Stadtbahn vor meiner Haustür! Da kann ich mich ja wirklich nur freuen, dass ich am nächsten Mittwoch nach Neu Delhi düse, denn verkehrstechnisch kann das ja gar nicht schlimmer sein… Hier noch ein genialer Einspieler von Radio Fritz (Humor ist, wenn man trotzdem lacht): S-Bahn Jubel

da ich immer wieder erstaunt bin, dass im Rest von Deutschland wohl nicht nicht so bekannt ist, was hier in Berlin im Öffentlichen Nahverkehr gerade so abgeht, dachte ich, ich schreib mal kurz was Sache ist.

Da andere da schon viel besser drüber geschrieben haben, empfehle ich euch einfach mal den Artikel in der Berliner Morgenpost zum Thema. In kurz: Vor ein paar Wochen ist hier in Berlin eine S-Bahn aus der Spur gehüpft, da ein Rad gebrochen ist. Daraufhin ordnete das Eisenbahn Bundesamt (EBA) eine Überprüfung der Räser an die – oh Wunder – von der Berliner S-Bahn GmbH einfach mal ignoriert wurde. Dazu muss man wissen, dass die zu hundert Prozent der Deutschen Bahn gehören und an den Mutterkonzern ziemlich hohe Summen abführen mussten. Das da dann nix mehr für so lächerliche Dinge wie die Überprüfung der Sicherheit von den eingesetzten Zügen mehr da ist, ist nachvollziehbar… Naja, vor knapp 3 Wochen hat sich das EBA dann gedacht “Nicht mit uns” und direkt mal 400 Wagen (von ca. 1200) aus dem Verkehr gezogen (bis die Überprüfungen durchgeführt sind). Nach eingehender Prüfung haben die dann gedacht “Da geht noch einer” und haben der S-Bahn 75% ihrer Wagons stillgelegt – was passiert, wenn der S-Bahn drei Viertel ihrer Wagen fehlen, kann sich jeder ausrechnen.

Seit drei Tagen gibt es nun den zweiten Notfallplan (nachdem der erste nach ein paar Tagen Makulatur war) und die S-Bahn fährt nun überhaupt nicht mehr auf der Stadtbahn. Die Stadtbahn ist die Verbindung die direkt mitten durch Berlin geht, da fahren 5 Linien drauf – bzw. jetzt nicht mehr… Angeblich soll das in 2 Wochen wieder anders sein, bis dahin werden teilweise Regionalzüge von der Deutschen Bahn eingesetzt. Das das jetzt auch nicht so der beste Einfall sein könnte, könnt ihr hier nachlesen. Da kann ich mich echt nur freuen, dass ich keine Uni mehr hab und mit meinem Rad überall so hinkomme. Für alle anderen ist das allerdings mal echt übel. Das befürchtete Chaos ist allerdings erstmal ausgeblieben. Zum einen wegen den Ferien, zum anderen nutzen laut aktuellem Stand statt den 900.000 Passagieren nur noch knapp die Hälfte die Öffis. Tja, und nun streiten die sich auch noch über die Entschädigung für die Abonnenten. .. Ganz großes Kino. Bekomme ich da als Studi mit Semesterticket jetzt eigentlich auch was wieder??? Tja, gar nicht so einfach das Ganze und dies Chaos wird wohl noch bis Jahresende anhalten, wenn man den Experten glauben soll. Da freu ich mich dann jetzt doch schon fast auf den öffentlichen Nahverkehr in Neu Dehli – viel schlimmer kann das auch nicht sein

this morning I was at the #Sperrwache09 right in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Today might become a historic date, as our parliament is about to demand censorship of the internet. I already wrote about that some time ago and Markus lately wrote a nice article in english, so if you’re interested, check it out. I really liked the different creative slogans and short speeches. Too bad that it was somehow preaching the choir, as everybody who was there fully understood the importance of voting AGAINST that law, but I doubt, that our voices will be heard in the parliament later today. If not, the green party actually demanded the parliament to vote by name, so be sure to check the record of your candidate when it’s time to vote in september!

Hey everybody,

just thought I should give you guys a little update If you’ve been in Germany, you might have heard about the “riots” going on in Berlin-Kreuzberg on the first of May. Well, I’ve been there and it hasn’t been as bad as the media is reporting. Or to be precise, I’ve been on the myfest, the street party organized by the people living around the SO36 area and it was quite nice. I went there in the afternoon together with Marie and two friends of her from Paris who are right now visiting her. So it was me and the three french girls wandering around to enjoy the sun, concerts and the nice athmosphere We really had a great day and did not really encounter any big problems. However, I know that at the Kottbusser Tor some folks clashed with the police and I saw some stones flying… Still that was far away from being as extreme as the media reports. Nobody who would not want to be involved into trouble has been, just the troublemakers who went there to knock their heads against some police guys caused all the attention. Later we went to a very nice concert in a very nice bar close to Görlitzer Bahnhof and only on our way back towards Oranienplatz we encountered a bit of what has been reported afterwards, as we couldn’t cross Adalbertstrasse/Naunynstraße as the Police had blocked the streets and dealt with some drunk guys…

In conclusion, I didn’t want to get involved into trouble and I didn’t even though I was less than 100m away from where the reported and so-called “riots” took place… By the way, similar impression got Frédéric from Spreeblick!

just wanted to publish an e-mail I’ve just sent over to the BVG, the company that runs the transport service here in Berlin. Below you find the mail (sorry, it’s in German) but I’ll explain in brief what happened: Today I a had an appointment at my doc in order to see how everything is going. (Sadly he advised me to stay in bed for another week… ) After the appointment I wanted to take the bus back home. Tragically I didn’t had that much luck with the busdriver:

First, he drove past me so that I had to try to enter the bus with my crutches on the last (automatic) door that closed too fast so that one of my crutches was jammed in the door Due to the help of someone passing by the busdriver opened the door again so that I could enter the bus. Being in the bus, the busdriver started to blame me for the situation and other more general stuff through the micro and thus throughout the whole bus. While I normally wouldn’t give anything about it, this time it’s different, as the way, the tone and attitude of the busdriver towards me was absolutely unappropriate and unfriendly. Accordingly I wrote an e-mail to the company in order to complain about the guy and his way of treating passengers that are handicapped to a certain extent.

I’m pround to announce: FINALLY I’m now officially registered as a student @ FU Berlin within the Master’s Programm of “Public and Private Environmental Management”! Hurray, that was a loooooooooooooong way to go, BUT I’ve had my last class for this week so I’m able to comment on the programm for this semester: Awesome! It’s just fantastic to look at the ountlines of the four courses I’ve to take and think “Yeah, I really wanna do it”! In general this semester seems to be like a welcome-semester for me, as I do have the feeling that I could just talk out of the blue about the majority of issue we gonna be dealing with and thus this will be very easy for me Apart from being happy with University stuff, I do really have problemes with my knee right now. As most of you know I got a rupture of my cruciate ligament back in may and still had no operation. As I travelled lately a lot in Irland, the UK and Spain, I assume that was a bit too much of action for my knee Accordingly right now is walking = pain But I’ll call the doc tomorrow and hope I’ll get an appointement as soon as possible. Besides I’m still searching for a nice appartement in Berlin. Until tuesday I stayed at Kyra’s place while I’m now at Stella’s. Tragically Stella got no Internet so far thus I’m kind of disconnected to the rest of the or to be precise “my” world Anyway, University stuff is nearly done so I can put all my energy into the appartement-research issue from now on

Ok, as I’m running out of electricity (while sitting in a bar where folks around me smoke… ) I’ve to end here for now.
