Dave Lombardo (Fantomas/Slayer) has started up a new three piece LA based band called PHILM who have released their debut album ‘Harmonic’. Sounds okay but a bit nu-metalish and the album is being streamed in full here:

I’m not sure what happened to the post I’d previously posted about this but I can’t see it so I’ll assume it has vanished for everybody.

not really news if you keep an eye on the ipecac site but Patton is releasing a “Laborintus II” album, most likely based around recordings of the live performance he did of it for the Holland Festival in 2010. So with new Tomahawk (and apparently new Moonchild) this will be a busier year release-wise for Patton than the last couple.

A teaser for the new Tomahawk album ‘Oddfellows’. Sounds promising.

The Melvins will be releasing their new album ‘Freak Puke’ on the 5th June via Ipecac.

Aside from the awesome cover art what makes this extra special is that it is a studio recording by the ‘Melvins Lite’ version of the band featuring Buzz, Dale & Trevor Dunn on bass.

Tomahawk record set

I’m sure everyone is well aware of it, but in case you missed out;
Tomahawk are releasing a box-set with all 3 of their albums on vinyl (with a space for the upcoming 4th album).
It’s being released for Record Store Day.

Mike Patton guests on the latest Secret Chiefs 3 7 inch release on a Traditionalists track titled “La Chanson de Jacky“.

The B-side, also a traditionalists song, is “a spaghetti-seasoned marination” rework of Book of Horizons’ “The Exile” titled simply “The Western Exile“.

From last night’s Mondo Cane show at the state theatre in Sydney (it was more amazing than I could have imagined) Chantel Bann brings us some great shots!

The long-time side band of Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum, in which he’s a vocalist/guitarist will be releasing their new album ‘Feel The Sound’ on the 31st of January. It will be Imperial Teen’s first album since 2007.

Ten years since their last album The Mark Of Cain are back with new single ‘Barkhammer’ from the soon to be released album ‘Songs of the Third & Fifth’.

Triple J’s Home & Hosed programme debuted ‘Barkhammer’ on national airwaves last night and the single will be available for free from The Mark Of Cain’s website for one day only on Monday 5th December.
