i was old student of this college, the thing is that.....it may be ranked on good list....but the problem is the management doesn't give proper pay to faculty. so, u may guess easily the things.....all the senior members have shifted to other colleges.......so u should study on your own.

i will give u the list of problems here..

1. Library will only be opened untill the 400 pm from 1000am only. so if u want to study in library u should study without going to classes.

2.they will not allow innovative things if u have ideas....they really don't like innovation.. they are scared of innovation.

3. They see small things as big matters.......for attending to conference...if u need the sign of hod ...... he will show hell to you....as if you are going to the prime minister of india.....that is the thing. even for RTC bus pass u should goto hod, principal, AO.....whole college.

4.The students may feel it advantage is that will be lot of tutorial classes.....in the sense leisure hours.....no faculty.....so we can enjoy as we wish....only four classes a day .

5.No student development activities.........at all......there is no student development association.......no student chapters......student are not at all part of college......they are aliens to college.....students doesn't have any rights.....from office boy to every higher authority have command on the students.

6.if you are from other places of andhra pradesh except form guntur or vijayawada......then there is a thing to know, there will be caste feeling here.....only among the students..... they are all divided by caste system.......they even organize parties for that.... and encourage you to stop talking to other caste people through out the four years.

7.Every event is organized by management only students doesn't have role to play except as audience........you are a spectator of things that it....but should pay for things.....

8.Other thing is internet....poor internet facilities ......thought we have internet then but restrictions have increased more now.....though lab is maintained well but ......u can expect u get a chance.....because...always connection problem.....they will not go wireless and campus connect....for students laptop.

Advantages of this college:

1.Faculty are cool with students and as the new faculty are coming who are just graduated so there is no strict environment......but the thing i would say is that ...they will not have any powers at all...........if u want to go out of class and ask lecturer then he will say ask hod and go.

2. exams are conducted strictly .......i say it very strictly..........if any person caught copying then............then the whole seris of exams will be cancelled.

3.College is very near to the town.

4. Transportation available ..by RTC buses(cheap but not available all times),,,,,,,college buses(costly option), autos(things that work at cheap rates and all times available).

5.you can get the room easyly. at cheaper rates......i.e for person it may cost 500Rs /month for room.

6.Hell of messes are there in town......food is nice......no problem for that.

7. coming to entertainment there are 11 theaters in town so no problem.

8. The town is connected by bus and rail roads ........

9.nearly everything available in town.....(required for us).

What we found bad: It is ONLY for editing photos for the social networking sites, so enthusiasts and professionals can find themselves a bit disappointed.

The User Interface (UI) of fotoflexer is easily one of the best UI's seen in a photo editing site. A very clean and easy to use flash based UI, makes it the ultimate site for novice photo editors to learn the basics. Personally, we found fotoflexer the bestphoto editing site. There are so many good features on this site, we would have to write a special review for it.

What we found good: The simplistic buttons and menu will let the users do some fun work from the start, without spending most of their time trying to find out what a specific tool is meant to do. From adding text to glitter to photo effects, fotoflexer does most of the best of editing with the click of two buttons, for which other sites and tools may have a complex procedure.

What we found bad: The only thing that this site was missing was the marquee and the magic wand tool.

Lunapic may not appeal to users at the first look. The homepage gives a feeling that this site would not be good at all. But as they say, never judge a book by its cover. Lunapic is the perfectphoto editing site for amateurs and professionals alike.

What we found good: Lunapic is all about the tools and effects provided on the site. By just looking at the arsenal of tools and effects on the site, any person’s imagination will start to work and will be busy for hours in editing various photos. Lunapic provides tutorials in the form of forums. This is a very good idea, because imagination has no limits and various users keep posting walkthroughs about something very creative.

What we found bad: Not all effects are good looking and cannot be aligned as per choice, for example - lens flare.

Aviary is like the complete Adobe suite online. On opening the home page, you find six tools, Image Editor (Phoenix), Color/Swatch Editor (Toucan), Effect’s Editor (Peacock), Vector Editor (Raven), Image Markup (Falcon) and Audio Editor (Myna).
Having six web based tools under 1 site is highly commendable. But since we are just looking at photo editing sites, we shall only talk about Phoenix. All the tools under aviary are flash based and there is a video tutorial for every tool which gives you a general, but brief idea about the tool itself.

Phoenix is loosely based on the Photoshop User Interface, making it the perfect photo editing site for enthusiasts and professionals.

What we found good: Since it looked a lot like Photoshop, even the functionality was similar to an extent. Access to Layers and layer filters along with the magic wand marquee tool, makes it a very good site for photo editing. You can add layers from raven and you can even save your work in a .png extension. That means you can use the same project on Photoshop. And you can easily shift your work between any tool of the suite.Phoenix is defiantly up there for being one of the best photo editing sites. It also features a huge tutorial page.

What we found bad: max resolution 2800x2800. Cannot directly upload to any social networking site.

Painting sky, coloring flowers, sprinkling dew, blooming blossoms, fluffing clouds, is what the load screen reads while the flash application opens up. At first glance it looks like it’s just another tool to edit photos for social networking sites. But, picnik has some very good features making it a very good photo editing site.

What we found good: Once again a site with excellent UI. Picnik makes it very easy for users to edit their photos. The results of the effects and touch-up features are outstanding, making it avery good tool to maintain and fix your own photos.

What we found bad: A few very good effects and features not available in the free version.

It’s not possible to know about photo editing and not of photoshop. Photoshop pioneered digital photo editing and made the tools accessible for everyone. Without doubt photoshop is the most preferred photo editing software. But due to its expensive rate, not everyone can afford it. But they also have a free photo editing site. The site requires registration (free), but hey, that’s ok.

What we found good: Being experienced in creating editing tools, Adobe has once again kept a very user friendly interface. The basic editing tool is good. You can create albums and tags and descriptions for your photos.

What we found bad: no layers, bad and minimal effects available.

Just to add a bit more about photoshop online. It was very strange and confusing to see the photo editing guru come up with such a strange web tool. photoshop.com had to be included for its brand and name, but it thoroughly disappointed us.

A very small site and very simple to use. Pixenate is an HTML-based editing tool. Best used for quick fix of a photo.

What we found good: The whitening tool is great. Filter tool is amazing to change the backdrop of your photo.

What we found bad: Very less features. Direct upload only to flikr.

Another website based on Photoshop. Splashup is completely reminiscent of the lord of photo editing tools.

What we found good: Layer effects, the marquee tool and an option to capture an image of the webcam are some very good features.

What we found bad: Splashup tries very hard to be as good as photoshop, and that is a bad point. The first impression is that this site will cater to needs of an avid photo editor but with very less filters and effects to work with, Splashup scores negative.

Another top site for photo editing, picture2life requires registration and once you're done with the process, you can access the amazing site for basic photo editing.

What we found good: At the first view, what got us most interested was simple zoom feature. You can simply scroll on the photo you have uploaded to edit to resize it accordingly on the screen. Picture2life also provides a very easy to use, Resize feature. The UI is easy and the ‘One Clicks’ feature steals the show.

What we found bad: No doubt it’s a very strong web-based editing site, but it lacks the particular fun factor, being some unique effects and filters, that a few users may find on other sites.

Hardcore Photoshop users can feel at home at splashup. The interface is just the same as the older versions of Photoshop, making the hardcore Photoshop users feel at home.
But as I said before, if anyone has integrated the power of Photoshop on their site, it’s always a plus point.

What we found good: There are a number of sites out there that have a very similar UI to Adobe Photoshop. But not every site has come as close to the original as pixlr. From stamp tool to color dodge, to layer effects, pixlr is a very strongphoto editing site.

What we found bad: Using photoshop daily, there was nothing much to complain about from pixlr because it does a wonderful job in re-creating Photoshop. But amateurs and freshers may have some difficulty in adapting to the tools initially.

Note: All except Pixenate and Phoenix provide the feature to upload it directly to myspace, facebook, twitter, orkut and many more social networking sites.

World's first iPhone worm Rickrolls angry fanbois

Phone owners in Australia awoke this weekend to find their devices targeted by self-replicating attacks that display an image of 1980s heart throb Rick Astley that's not easily removed.

The attacks, which researchers say are the world's first iPhone worm in the wild, target jailbroken iPhones that have SSH software installed and keep Apple's default root password of "alpine." In addition to showing a well-coiffed picture of Astley, the new wallpaper displays the message "ikee is never going to give you up," a play on Astley's saccharine addled 1987 hit "Never Gonna Give You Up."

Tricking victims in to inadvertently playing the song has become a popular prank known as Rickrolling.

A review of some of the source code, shows that the malware, once installed, searches the mobile phone network for other vulnerable iPhones and when it finds one, copies itself to them using the the default password and SSH, a Unix application also known as secure shell. People posting to this thread on Australian discussion forum Whirlpool first reported being hit on Friday.

"I foolishly had forgot to change my root and user password last time i had jailbroke my phone," wrote one forum participant. In addition to his own iPhone being attacked, he said a flatmate's iPhone 3G was also sullied with the image of Astley. Users who tried to delete the image were chagrined to find it reappear once they rebooted their device.

The attack is a wakeup call for anyone who takes the time to jailbreak an iPhone. While the hack greatly expands the capabilities of the Apple smartphone, it can also make it more vulnerable. Programs such as OpenSSH, which can only be installed after iPhones have undergone the procedure, can be extremely useful, but if owners haven't bothered to change their root password, the programs also represent a gaping hole waiting to be exploited.

Indeed, a hacker going by the moniker ikee and claiming to be responsible for the worm said here that he wrote the program to bring awareness to the widely followed practice of failing to change the iPhone's password.

"I was quite amazed by the number of people who didn't RTFM and change their default passwords," the unidentified worm writer said. "I admit I probably pissed of [sic] a few people, but it was all in good fun (well ok for me anyway)."

Ikee said the worm disables the SSH daemon so it can't be targeted further.

So far, there are no reports of people outside of Australia getting infected. And the attack appears to do nothing more than Rickroll victims with the Astley wallpaper. But because the writer released source code for four separate variants, it wouldn't be surprising for copycats in other regions to appropriate the attack code and potentially imbue it with more malicious payloads.

Facebook Takes Over Top Spot, Twitter Climbs

With Facebook officially turning five years old recently, combined with the site surging past MySpace in Monthly Unique Visitors, it seems like a good time to take a little deeper look at the social networking giants.

It’s hard to believe that last year around this time we discussing the effects of bad PR for Facebook and if the site had ‘jumped the shark,’ but those arguments now seem to more appropriately apply to other properties.

A year ago, we ranked the top 25 social networking sites by monthly visits, and I was curious to see how the positions would change if we re-ranked those same sites with the most recent figures.

Some key metrics in the health of a social network revolve around the activity of the user base – visits per unique visitor and time on site. While Facebook has excelled in both areas, MySpace has remained flat or fallen off, with new hot property Twitter climbing the ranks.

MySpace is still the clear number two player in the big categories, but its trends in some key areas aren’t quite so dominatingl and, at least in those areas, they could be looking up at more than Facebook soon.

Sony Demonstrates New PC Control Interface

Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions (ISS) division has demonstrated a revolutionary PC control interface based on three dimensional vision cameras. The system, called ICU, analyzes body movements and enables users to go beyond the mouse or touchscreen to interact more intuitively with a computer.

The technology is the first of its kind to be demonstrated and is the result of a collaboration between Sony ISS and Atracsys, a Swiss optical tracking specialist. The interface is able to detect and act upon any 'gesture' or body movement by tracking subtle changes in body, arm, hand or finger position. The ICU system is also sensitive enough to determine a user's approximate age, sex and emotion; recognizing happiness, anger, surprise, sadness and neutrality.

The interface is based on two Sony ISS XCD-V60 cameras linked together stereoscopically to create a 3D image. These high specification digital IEEE1394b cameras transmit image data at 90fps to a PC running Atracsys' proprietary video analysis software. Input from the cameras can be used to control a cursor, avatar or robot.

"ICU can be used in virtually any scenario, be it gaming, industrial, medical or retail," commented Gaëtan Marti, CEO at Atracsys. "Currently, we're receiving a lot of interest from retail marketing companies wanting to develop truly interactive shop window displays. In this application, a user pointing at a watch or electronic gadget, for example, could command the display of additional information from the web about the product, such as reviews, pricing information or technical specifications."

Arnaud Destruels, marketing manager at Sony ISS, said, "such interfaces were conceived many decades ago, with science fiction films using them to convey a futuristic feeling. The large time gap between conception and implementation highlights just how complex the task has been as well as the coding expertise at Atracsys."

Possible New Mobile Phone Form Factor Concept Emerges

Tired of the old style mobile handsets that are either in a basic candy bar form with a touchscreen or keypad or the flip phone clamshell devices and even those sliders that either slide the keypad downward or sideways? Then we could be in for a break. According to reports a Brazilian designer who’s made a name for himself designing rather unique devices for various purposes has put forward his concept of the possible form factor for the mobile phone segment.

Fabio Dabori has designed what’s being called the HOOK concept that takes the standard candy bar form and adds a little... hook like system to the design. The HOOK concept is designed to be a keypad locking system. The idea is to do away the two buttons, press to hold unlocking or locking system that handsets come with

The HOOK will also be designed, according to the reports, to hold the microphone so that when it’s open it’ll be closer to the speaker’s mouth so the ridiculous practice of holding the phone’s mic to the mouth while talking should become history.

Windows 7 Vulnerable to 8 of 10 Viruses

With Windows 7 making the news since its launch, security firm Sophos decided to see how safe the new OS was and this is what they found.

On October 22nd, SophosLabs loaded a full release copy of Windows 7 on a clean machine. They configured it to follow the system defaults for User Account Control (UAC) and did not load any anti-virus software. They used the next 10 unique malware samples that arrived in the SophosLabs feed to see how well the newer, more secure version ofWindows and UAC held up. Despite Microsoft's claims that "the infection rate of Windows Vista SP1 was 61.9 percent less than that of Windows XP SP3", Windows 7 disappointed just like earlier versions of Windows.

The only good thing was that out of the 10 malware samples that arrived, 2 would not operate correctly under Windows 7.

User Account Control blocked only one malware sample. It's failure to block others points to the fact that the UAC's default configuration is not effective at protecting a PC from modern malware

Microsoft Launches On-demand e-mail Solutions in India

In order to enable easy access to its cost-effective business productivity software, Microsoft Thursday launched its online services in India.

Starting at $2 (about Rs.100) a month, the service will allow small and medium business and enterprise customers to access Microsoft's e-mail, collaboration, conferencing and productivity capabilities online.

Customers can access the suite directly from www.microsoft.com/india/onlineservices and pay a use-based monthly subscription fee.

According to the company, savings are expected to be between 10 to 50 percent on IT costs.

HCL Infosystems, Infosys and Wipro are among the companies to market and offer value-added services around the Microsoft Online Services.

The launch is part of Microsoft's Software Plus Services strategy that aims to provide flexibility and choice of accessing and using software both on premise and off the Internet or as a combination of both.

"In today's competitive global market businesses need cost-effective technology that allows flexibility and adds value to their organisations," said Microsoft Business Group president Stephen Elop in a statement.

The services will be available in India from Nov 7.

According to a study by global consultancy Browne and Mohan, the market for hosted email will grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 50 percent, with over 28 percent of email solutions to be run on the hosted model by 2012.

Hoping to maintain transparency, choice and control the software giant has built the Google Dashboard. The Dashboard summarizes data for each product that you use (when signed in to your account) and provides you direct links to control your personal settings.

Microsoft's Courier Tablet Details Leaked

Gizmodo has gotten hold of details of Microsoft's as yet unannounced Courier tablet.

The device features multitouch support and a smart stylus that has an undo button, an eraser and a twist mechanism which switches drawing modes.

The Courier's content is referred to as the Infinite Journal. Your daily work like appointments, emails, to-do lists, messages etc will be done on something called Smart Agenda. It alsofeatures a library which acts as the main file browser and a camera.

The Courier also features handwriting recognition and the Journal will offer cloud support. The web browser which looks like an index-card can be flipped through a la Safari.

USB 3.0 Specification and Details

USB 3.0 promises increased transfer speeds and support for dual data lanes.

Almost eight years after the introduction of the now ubiquitous USB 2.0 High Speed standard, it is time to raise the bar. Intel has showcased USB 3.0 specs and details recently.

The release comes after a cold war between AMD/Nvidia and Intel regarding the disagreements between the two concerning sharing of USB 3.0 specifications. AMD at one point had threatened to develop its own USB 3.0 standard. However, things seem to have settled down, as the AMD indicates in this statement:
USB 3.0 is an answer to the future bandwidth needs of the PC platform. AMD believes strongly in open industry standards, and therefore is supporting a common xHCI specification.

Let's delve into the juicy details now. The most important improvement over the previous version is increased transfer speeds and support for dual data lanes. What this means is that not only can you transfer files at 4.8 Gbit/s (600MB/s), you can do it both ways, i.e, both read and write at the same time. Although it may not sound like much, it's a significant development over the earlier version. This is achieved by the introduction of two lanes each - one for receiving and the other for transmitting data. Intel claims about the speed include an example, which says that you would be able to transfer a 27 GB HD movie to your device (USB 3.0 compatible of course) in about 70 seconds. For perspective, this would have taken about 15 minutes with "high speed" USB 2.0! To take advantage of the speeds, new drivers for mass storage devices would have to be developed and yes, hard drive data speeds would be limited owing to their RPM and corresponding read/write speed limitations.

Note that is that these transfer speeds would be achieved only with USB 3.0 compliant devices - which brings us to another facet of USB 3.0. It would be completely backward compatible with earlier USB devices, the only physical difference being the thicker cable and slightly different connectors.

Apart from being more energy efficient than the current standard, they will also be able to carry more power - which will translate in to quicker recharge time for your future mobile phone! Expect a slew of devices by early 2010. This is because the final specs will be out only by Q4 this year, after which, USB 3.0 controllers will be designed.

There was a whole lot of speculation as to what the newest iteration of Windows will be named as. Windows Vista has been disappointing for Microsoft, so they did not want to go with any similar naming convention. Meanwhile, Windows releases preceded by a numeral have done remarkably well. The reason can be anything, but the name became clear when Microsoft's Mike Nash announced, "Simply put, this is the seventh release of Windows, so therefore 'Windows 7' just makes sense." As has been seen thus far, this is probably on its way to become the most successful OS from Microsoft since a long time.
