Does anyone know of a legit emergency loan or grant for students with bad credit and NO co-signer (besides payday loans)????
I dropped a class and my school surprised me with blocking next semesters enrollment because they want 6 back from the Pell Grant (even though I took out 5000 in loans to pay the rest). I adjusted my financial aid to show that I’m broke, but the school is taking 12 weeks to get me more money… long after I’m screwed and it’s gone to collections with them. I just moved to LA and there are no jobs, or gigs, or anything, I’m pretty much done for with school.

Please don’t answer with obvious statements like "get a job","go talk to someone at your school", "ask your dead parents or a co-signer", "get a credit card" because the obvious answers I’ve already been through for months now.

I have found several shady looking websites promising to send me PDF files but I can’t find a legit solutions manual or teacher’s edition. The student solution’s manuals only have selected problems. Our book is Physics for Scientists and Engineers by Serway and Beichner (5th edition). Any suggestions?

Would anyone who has been here, done this(took a calc course in college) please advise me if a calculus solutions manual would be very helpful for a busy college student?

My son is 17 and accepted at a college which does not accept ANY kind of government-backed student loan; if he is getting a loan it must be what is called a "Private Student Loan" (which are offered by all the major banking institutions (SallieMae, for instance).

The problem is, since he has no credit rating at this time, he is being required to have a co-signer with good credit, and that is proving a problem. (We’re in the middle of a foreclosure, and have related debt issues).

Assuming we can find no one to co-sign for him, we were wondering if the following would work: He would put off college for two years, work full-time, and begin taking out loans, such as a small car loan, or small personal loans, and build up a credit rating and a good sized bank account.

Would that make him "credit-worthy" enough to get a private student loan? Or would he still be turned down and need a co-signer?

I checked out a couple of community colleges in boston as they are affordable and i’ll be able to pay for the first semester.I thought that during my first semester i’ll be able to work "on-campus" and earn enough money for the rest of my semesters, but then i was wrong i called the colleges and they said that getting a "on-campus" job is very hard as it is very limited and there’s no guarantee of getting one for sure. Also the pay is minimum.
Has anyone been through this?? if so what did you do??
And even if i get into the college will i be able to get a "student loan" over there as an international student???
Any help will be deeply appreciated, will be glad if you share your personal experience with this kind of situation.

Hey, i need some help. I got into syracuse but its ,000 my parents are willing to pay 36000 a year. They dont have enough to pay all 50. However with the Fasfa and other government things like that we wont get anything because our house hold income is too high. How can i make up the diffrence with "Student loans" maybe. I really need help cause i really wanna go to syracuse

Rising tuition costs, private lenders (Sallie Mae, Wells Fargo, Citibank) offering their "private loans" to students that carry outrageous interest, and less payment flexibility than a credit card, kickbacks for financial aid officers…. Where does it end? What needs to be done to make education affordable, and reign in the corrupt student lenders that are strangling all of the money out of new college graduates?

I have a large "Outstanding" student loan, and I’ve been told there are "Forgiveable Loans", which are paid by Grants. I need any and all information pertaining to this. Thank You.
