You've probably been wondering where I've been.

It's been quite a while since I've posted here.

Wow, there is a lot of dust and cobwebs on my poor, little, neglected blog!

This little blog is where it all started for me nearly 3 years ago.

I'm not gonna give it up, but I won't be posting here very often.

Truth is, all my time and energy are being devoted to my new stamp company.

It makes me really super happy! :)

I'm so glad you're back

because I have a cool little card to show you tonight

using stamps from the set we're sneak peeking tonight at

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

We've showed you cards that had you saying WTF, but in the most PG of ways *wink*

and cards that had you happily yelling Woot Woot!

Tonight we our 3rd set makes its debut and it's all about the thanks.

It's a fun set that gives you tons of ways to say thank you.

This card took no time at all.

I simply misted orange, blue and purple onto white cardstock.

While it was drying, I arranged a fun combination of thank you's on my acrylic block.

I stamped a portion of the Big Thanks onto my panel and then added the combo directly above it.

Easy and fun!

Since the misted colors on the panel fit The Play Date Cafe's

challenge this week, I'm entering it there.

I've been torturing you all here,

What a week!

So much excitement.

So much anticipation.

So many beans to spill!

I'll be spilling all my big HUGE beans tomorrow,

but in the meantime, I've got some other fun and exciting news to share...

The Play Date Cafe

is celebrating its 3rd anniversary!

That is a whole lot of color challenges!

I'm so happy to have been invited back to help celebrate this very special occasion.

The PDCC has always been a unique challenge for two reasons:
They encourage you as a player to 'interpret the colors' as YOU see them and they welcome pretty much ANY type of project from cards to layouts, knit, crochet & sewing, mixed-media and even cupcakes!

I created a sweet little card without using any stamps!

Can you believe it?

I couldn't resist that darling little bird from Doodlebug, and he just so happened to fit the blue from this week's PDCC challenge perfectly :)

There is all kinds of fun and excitement happening at the cafe

I got inky without getting inky, can you believe it?! No stamps!

I painted a chipboard heart white, then (channeling Karen Baker) I misted it with glimmer mist.

I wish you could see how it sparkles :)

I used a fun little sticker from SRM Stickers and finally tied a juicy little bow using

yummy ribbon that I got at i{heart} papers!

October is breast cancer awareness month

and we are celebrating the women we love at

CAS-ual Fridays

I love this little stamp from Market Street Stamps. I wrapped pink tulle around a cardstock panel to give it sort of a fishnet look. You know, just to make it a little more ooh la la!

Please get checked this month.

I am fortunate to have many breast cancer survivors in my life.

I am not at all happy about what they had to go through, but I am very happy that their lives were saved thanks to early detection.

It works.

I'm back!

I found another new to me sketch challenge yesterday, Unscripted Sketches, and their sketch looked like a lot of fun so I had to give it a whirl.

(by the way, they are on #177 so where the heck have I been???)

I took some creative license but hey, that's what sketches are for, right?

Before I show you my card I have to tell you that my darling hubby saw it last night and proudly declared that it must have been inspired by him.

*grin* ummm, ok honey!!

It's been a ridiculously long time since I've posted on my blog!

Today, I found my mojo and I got inky!!

Hoooooray :)

I really like the sketch that retro sketches has up this week so I thought I'd give it a go.

I played with some odds and ends I've had in my stash for a while and came up with this.

and this is the sketch...

I had these cork sheets just laying around and I thought it was time to use one. It made a nice background and added a cool texture to the card base. I also used a piece of a wine bottle cork as the foundation for the pushpin flag pole. The little JillyBean Soup sticker banners are just so cute and I thought the 2 together made a really fun focal point.

It feels so good to knock the cobwebs off my poor little blog :)

It's been a while since I've posted because it's been a while since I've gotten inky!

Gotta say, it felt good to press that inky stamp onto card stock today :)

I love the way the black base makes the colors pop and the helps the sentiment stand out.

i {heart} stamping my own designer paper

I am having the best time guest designing for i {heart} papers!

She has the best stuff in her store and just wait til you see the goodies I got to play with to make my card!

I saw a couple challenges that I haven't played at before so I thought I'd give it a go:

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge-Make your own embellishment

Sounds like fun, right? So here is what I came up with...

I used 3 dies, two sizes from Spellbinders Labels One and Pinwheel Posie from Memory Box to make my own embellishments-3 flowers with 3 pearls in the centers. I also used 3 stamps! Am I rockin' the 3's or what? LOL!

I love to create my own designer papers, so for my flowers, I stamped Market Street Stamps Houndstooth in 3 different colors. I love the way the pattern looks rolled into the flower. I used Woodgrain to create the coordinating background for Authentique's Endless & Fair Weather and the sentiment is from Market Street Stamps Simple Joys-one of my favorite sets :) For a little extra zip, I added a strip of Turquoise Blue Twill Striped ribbon.

Tons of fun products right? And all available at i {heart} papers!

I had a lot of fun creating this card. I want to play with that posie die some more :)

Bittersweet DeNami post

This is by far the most difficult post I've written yet.

I have been a designer for DeNami Design since April of 2010.

It was my very first design team and I was still a newbie blogger.

I will never forget the joy I felt when Paulina told me I had made the team.

Especially since it happened to be April 1, and I thought it might be an April Fools Day joke :)

I have loved working for Paulina and Nami, getting to meet the whole DeNami family, and getting to know all the DeNami blog fans.

I absolutely adore Paulina! She is the sweetest, kindest, most organized person ever and I am so glad to call her my friend.

Please indulge me as I share a couple of my favorite cards that I created for DeNami Designs. I've linked each photo to it's original post in case you want details :)

Solid Polka Dot Border

My time with DeNami has come to an end and that is very hard to say.

It's hard to say goodbye to a team and a company that I love so dearly.

Thank you so much Paulina and Nami for having me!

I have grown so much as a designer during my time with you and I will never forget all the kindness and friendship you've shown me :)

There are good things to come though!

I have started a fantastic inky adventure that I will be able to share in just a couple short months.

I decided to go simple and use beach colors to represent the surf and sand for my card base.

The boards I colored and paper pieced.

I had to use one of my favorite sentiments because it just fit the card.

i {heart} mini chipboard books??

I hope you're ready for some fun because today I am joining the i {heart} papers team on their chipboard album blog hop!

i {heart} mini chipboard books??

I say it as a question because honestly I was a tad worried about giving this little challenge a go. I am a cardmaker...I don't really do albums, or books, or really anything that I can't fold in half! LOL! However, the fabulous ladies at i {heart} papers planned to get their chipboard on, and being that I am guest designer with them this month, I decided to just close my eyes and go for it.

Let me tell you, making a chipboard book was NOT scary. In fact, it was actually really FUN!!!

Armed with the Echo Park A Boy's Life 12 x 12 kit (oh my goodness there are soooo many fun goodies inside it!) and the A Boys Life 6 x 6 paper pad, I sat down and began to create with my 4x8 Journal Kit Honeycomb album.

I have to say...

i {heart} mini chipboard books!!

I love these papers!! All the elements and stickers were included in the 12 x 12 kit I really had a great time playing with them and choosing the pattern paper.

The 6 x 6 pad offers a smaller version of the same patterns. I used the small version on the front and the 12x12 version on the back. I love how they coordinate perfectly but aren't exactly the same, and I think they compliment the honeycomb texture on the chipboard. I wanted the papers to really stick to the chipboard so I used the i{stick} papers red line tape. Trust me, those papers aren't going anywhere now! I also used it to apply the 3/4" Turquoise Blue Twill Stripes ribbon. Instead of tying a bow, I tied a knot to keep with the boyish theme.

The grid paper that comes with the chipboard album kit is really cute. S just for fun and giggles, I stamped on a few of the pages inside using Market Street Stamps Simple Joys with Tangelo and Bahama Blue Memento inks

I just love i{heart} papers!

Besides the fact that Kate is just the sweetest person, she also has a really wonderful assortment of product and fast shipping too!

Summer is here! Are you planning or starting your vacations?

We just had a little weekend jaunt up to Steamboat Springs here in Colorado. It was a gorgeous warm day so we threw the top back, and cruised up the mountain with the sun on our shoulders. Nice!!

Believe it or not, I actually spied little spots of snow clinging to the ground under some trees as we made the drive up from Denver! Just gotta love Colorado ;)

Since I'm guest designing with i {heart} papers (which is sort of like a vacation) I thought I'd put together a little travel card using lots and lots of fun products that I found in the store!

If you haven't shopped at i {heart} papers yet, what are you waiting for? Oodles and oodles of yummy goodies and fast shipping to boot!

I used the little mountains from Market Street Stamps Travelscapes and the Inkssentials White Opaque Pen to create my little snowcapped row. I love how well the pen colored on the kraft card base. Instead of masking, I just carefully removed a little ink from the stamp before stamping them 3 times, so that they look like a mountain range. It was so easy!

I also used the road strip from that same set to create the wide journal lines on the Spellbinders Labels Four die shape. Doesn't it remind you of the lined paper you learned to write on in first grade?

The fun pattern papers are from My Mind's Eye Away We Go 6x6 paper pack. I just adore the colors!

To finish it off my card, I layered some sweet orange bakers twine from Jillibean Soup over the May Arts Twill Ribbon and then stamped my sentiment by combining words from Market Street Stamps Simple Joys.

Oh the fun I've had being on the Market Street Stamps Design Team!

I have loved playing with the stamps each month, working with all the amazingly talented girls on the team and becoming friends with Angelica.

She. Is. The. Best!

I would stay with them forever, but I am off on a brand new and extremely huge adventure. Can't talk about it just yet but I will soon :)

I don't like goodbye's at all, but since this is my very last post as a designer for Market Street Stamps, I've got to say something...I'd like to say Thank You so much for having me!! I have enjoyed every second of being on this team!

For my last card I chose Believing Butterfly. The sentiment just speaks to me. I fussy cut the butterfly and bent the wings back a bit so it looks like he's fluttering. The Houndstooth background just adds a warm and cozy feeling to the card which is how I feel about Market Street Stamps...warm and cozy :)

I used D107 Cruisin' Chickie. How fun are those little guys with their white wall tires?

To make my road I just cut a strip of black cardstock and then added yellow cardstock stripes. It was easy and a good way to use up some of my scraps.

Any sentiment would work but I thought this would make a little birthday boy happy so I used one of the sweet little greetings from PF48 Thoughtful Greetings.

DeNami Color Challenge

Dramatic and elegant.

That is how I would describe the colors chosen by Wendy for the new

DeNami Design color challenge

Ok, not going to lie. I was completely stumped by these colors.

For me it was the vanilla that I just couldn't wrap my brain around.

But then, the lightbulb went on and I decided to distress my white cardstock with vanilla ink!

*insert applause*

Phew, what a relief and the rest came together in a snap :)

J115 Filigree Centerpiece is one of my favorite stamps. This time I colored it in with black marker to add the drama to it's elegance. I added a strip of black ribbon and added a silver cord to separate my focal point from the sentiment.

Now it's your turn. Remember, the colors don't have to be evenly distributed. You can use just a touch and it still counts :)

Happy Saturday!

If you saw my post yesterday, then you know I'm guest designing for

i {heart} papers this month.

If you didn't see yesterday's post, well, then allow me to say, you missed a really stinkin' cute card! LOL!

Today I'm playing with tons of delightful goodies that you can find at i {heart} papers including Market Street Stamps Blast Off set.

It's cute, its fun and I'm here to show you that it's versatile too ;)

So first things first, let's take a peek at the set in action in it's most classic form...a card that I think would delight any little boy.

I tell ya, I'm looooving this A Boy's Life 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park. Look how cute the patterns are and don't you think all rocket ships should have chevron flames? ;)

I think the Polka Dot background from the Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder adds a fun texture too, kind of looks like planets don't you think?

If you're wondering about that uber cool embellie on the window, shhh! I stole it from hubby's work bench. It had dust on it so I'm pretty sure he won't miss it ;)

So how is this rocket ship versatile you ask? Well of course I could have aimed it the other direction but I think you want more than that, right?

So how about this?

Do you see it? Look at the chevron flames in the first card and then look at the flower petals! Rich Cocoa Memento Ink plus darling gingham paper from Simple Stories can make any rocket flames look...well, absolutely darling!

Ta-da!! Versatile I tell ya!!

Another 6x6 pad I'm madly in love with is Fabulous from Simple Stories. All the cute patterns including that deliciously cute sentiment panel are in the 6 x 6 pack! It's really too cute and I think you must have it :)

I couldn't find a way to fit a bow on this and it really needed ribbon (I think) so I used May Arts Ivory Twill Ribbon and just made little loops instead. I like the simple look of it :)

I've just got to include this one in the Gingham Challenge at Moxie Fab World.

Eeek! Somebody pinch me!

I was invited to guest design with Kate and her crew at i{heart} papers

for the whole month of June!!

To kick things off, I made a fun and playful CAS card.

The Gingham Challenge at Moxie Fab World looked like so much fun

that I just had to play along.

Was I also inspired by Cath's darling blog header? Probably just a tad *wink*

How fun are these glasses? I'm seriously on the hunt for gingham readers now!

The sweet gingham papers are from 2 different 6 x 6 pads- Echo Parks A Boys Life and Simple Stories Fabulous. I love 6 x 6 pads because the patterns are smaller than 12 x 12 papers which works so well in card making.

What would be gingham glasses be without bling, right? Aquamarine and Clear added the perfect pops of sparkly color.

Now when I was creating these fun glasses, which by the way are from an Ellison die that was in the workroom at my local stamp store, I kept saying

"oh my gosh I want these for reals!!" So imagine my delight when I came across the perfect sentiment in the Cheep Talk set from Market Street Stamps!

It just doesn't get any better than that!

The stamps, papers and bling that I used for this card are all available at i{heart} papers!!

It's time for Product Spotlight at

DeNami Design

This week we're gearing up for the dads with a great stamp.

I went graphic and clean...and lets not forget easy!

I stamped the chevron from Modern Borders in a light blue ink on a circle shaped chipboard piece.

You could easily just cut out a large round circle from cardstock with a die or a punch instead.

Then I simply stamped the sentiment right over the background with red ink. Dark blue would be cool too.

I wrapped the twine around the panel a few times and then adhered my circle on top of it.

Easy and cool!
