It is commonly taught that the Law of God is now presently nailed to the cross, and it no longer applies to us.
Let us walk thru the NEW Testament and see if the disciples that people credit with informing us that we are not under God's Commandments (mainly Paul) actually followed the laws given to Moses. (Exodus - Deuteronomy)

The Law that most people agree that we no longer have to keep is the Sabbath Day. -The 7th day of the week- This is the proper day for church services, learning how to serve God/recieve salvation, fellowship, prayer, worship, and meditation.
Yes it is true as Christians we should pray and meditate everyday, however, on the Sabbath Day (Saturday) it is mandatory. Just as honoring your mother and father is mandatory.

Now in Acts Chapter 1 when Jesus ascends into heaven in the sight of the disciples it has been 40 days since His death and ressurection. In chapter 2 the disciples attend the feast of Pentecost (as instructed in the law).

By the time we get to Chapter 13, it is around 40AD, roughly 10 years after Jesus died and was ressurected. Saul has killed some believers, then is converted on the road to Damascus, taught by Christ and is now finally seperated to do what he has been called by God to do. And what did he do while preaching to the church in Antioch:

"Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia... But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down."

Notice not just Paul but his company also went on the sabbath day.
"And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience."
We all know and agree about what Paul said and preached here. He ran down the history of my ancestors from Moses down to Jesus. He explained how Jesus fulfilled the promises made to the fathers, and he preached Jesus Christ for the remession of sins. What is important here is 'when' he did his 'preaching to the masses.' After Paul's sermon the 'Gentiles' approched him to hear the Gospel. Let's see what day Paul decided to meet with them:
"And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath." (v.42)

Not tomrrow, not next week on Sunday (what some call the christian sabbath). On the next sabbath. On God's Sabbath day the 7th day of the week the Gentiles came to learn about Christ.

So they agreed to come together on the next Sabbath. So let us see what happend on the next sabbath:

"And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God." (v.44)

This is Antioch, a Gentile city. Outside of the land of Judea. And the whole city came to "Hear the Word of God" on the Sabbath day; taught by the Apostle Paul.

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS BEFORE MOSES! Chap. 2

Is it possible that Noah, the ancestor of Abraham knew and respected the 10 Commandments.

If the commandments were since the beginning of time, let no one tell you that we shouldn't keep them. Even Number 4. Remeber the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Lets see if Noah knew the Law:

"And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he."(Genesis 6:17-22)

This is the story of Noah that most people know. The nursery rhyme even goes 'Noah brought the animals 2 by 2'...

Noah only brought two of each animal because only two is needed to procreate.However, this is not the end of the story; it continues.

"And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him." (Genesis 7:1-5)

Noah originally brought two of every animal. Then in the next chapter we see that he brought 7 of every 'clean' beast. And two of every unclean beast.
What is it that makes an animal clean?

"These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof:
as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you...

For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten." (leviticus 11:1-47)

So when Noah brought the 'clean' animals into the Ark (the animals that are permissible to eat), he brought those by 7's not by two.

WHY?

Surely not to eat, man did not start eating meat until chapter 9 verse 1-4.

"And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee... And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark. And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
(Genesis 8:14-22)

For sacrifice. Thanksgiving sacrifices for sparing Noah and his family. You can only sacrifice 'clean' animals to the Lord. Therefore Noah knew the Laws of God and was obedient, that is why he brought 7 clean animals so that he could sacrifce one or two to the Almighty.
Notice also how those sacrifices created a sweet smelling savour to the Lord. Maybe God is black (he likes the smell of Bar-B-Que. :) lol

¿SHOULD WE "FEAR" GOD?

¿Should we ‘Fear’ God?

As followers of Christ, God is our protector. He is our Father, our provider, and our help. But modern preachers will have us to believe that God is not to be feared. Some tele-evangelists go as far as to say that we should all white out the word fear in our Bibles, and replace that word, every time it appears with ‘love.’

While it is true that God is Love (1John 4:8), it is the “Fear of God” that is the beginning of our wisdom! (Psalm 111:10/Proverbs 1:7, 2:5, 9:10)

It is thru the fear of God that anyone is obedient.

You may say that I have faith in God because of the Love Jesus showed me dying on the cross. This love that leads you to believe in God will not keep you obedient. The next day and several weeks later when you find out that it was Jesus who spoke the 10 Commandments, and that it is Jesus whom will Kill the people that He catches eating pork when He returns (Isaiah 66:15-18), it will be that fear of being killed, even unto the 2nd death (Revelation 20:12-15) that will cause you to say, “that bacon and Ham sandwich just isn’t worth it!”

Some people can keep their hands to themselves because they love their neighbor just as they love themselves and therefore would never sleep with someone else’s spouse. However most people that do not commit adultery it is out of fear of repercussions. Weather it is fear because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), or you fear what the husband (or wife) may do to you. This fear is instinctive because this also is written in the Bible.

"Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent... A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts." (Proverbs 6:27-35)

We are also obedient to our parents out of fear of repercussions. Weather punishment or spanking, we only obeyed because weather in the home or out in the world disobedience is most usually met with punishment, which in turn leads to sorrow.

THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER:

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. "

WHY?

"For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

Cain and Abel, Sons of Adam and Eve knew the 10 Commandments!

There are scads of people under the banner of 'Christianity' that go to churches and are taught that the 10 Commandments are no longer part of the doctrine of believers. The Commandments, also known as 'The Law' is somehow nailed to the cross; or done away with by Jesus himself.

The case is usually made because ministers somehow rationalize that the Commandments being given to Moses, and thereby the children of Israel were somehow exclusively to one group of people.
Our God is Not a respecter of persons! (Acts 10:34)!
The commandments as they were proposed to The children of Israel was the same Commandments of God that determined the 'Sons of God' from Adam down to Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Jacob's (aka Israel) 12 sons.

LET IT BE KNOWN: The Biblical definition of sin, is; the transgression of the Law. (1John 3:4)

Commandment Number 6, as previously discussed in "The 10 Commandments" (thou shalt not kill) [to read click here], was known and understood by the people mentioned in the Bible from the very beginning.

Take for instance Cain and Abel.

"And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell." (Genesis 4:3-7)

"And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?" (Genesis 4:8-9)

The real purpose for this post is verses 8 and 9. In these verses Cain murders his brother Abel, and then when he is questioned about it he lied and said he didn't know where Abel was.

We can therefore reason and conclude that Cain new the 6th commandment 'thou shalt not kill' and wanted to hide the fact that he broke the Law of God.

Consider because had he not known the 10 commandments, or had the Law not been applied to him Cain would have confidently said, "I killed my brother he is buried under a rock!"

Cain lied because he knew he was wrong. Cain takes it a step further by trying a corny 'am i my brothers keeper' line to make it seem as if he has know way of knowing where his brother is.

In Verse 3-7, the reason the Lord had respect to Abel's offering is because it was the "firstlings of his flock." Abel also brout 'the fat' of his flocks as offering, the "Firstlings" or first fruits or the first 10% are the tithes.

That which is required!

Cain missed that part as he brought 'fruit of the ground,' as an offering unto the Lord. Imagine being in school, and doing all the extra credit work in a class, but compelteing no assignments. The instructor is Not going to respect that! :-\ LOCKSMIF... LLAVES (keys)

LAW OF LIBERTY

"So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty"

(James 2:12)

Although 'Independence day' is past, it is not too late to reflect on just what it is that liberates us. This liberation is spiritual as well as physical; and it is also this law of liberty to which the founding fathers of the United States attributed they understanding to.

WHAT IS THE LAW OF LIBERTY?

In Romans chapter 7, the Apostle Paul talks about the two laws of God. The 10 commandments and then also the law of animal sacrifice. He does not always announce which law he is talking about but there is obviously two different ones.

He talks about being "dead to the law by the body of Christ." (v.4)

This law is of course talking about animal sacrifice. It was animal sacrifice that was our schoolmaster that brought us unto Christ. (Galatians 3:23-25)

Meaning that until Jesus came to die for the sins of the world, the children of Israel would kill different animals at their appointed times, to serve the same purpose. (Leviticus 16:1-34)

-Every detail of how the ritual was performed as well as the cleanliness of the priest performing the task all reflected or made reference to the Messiah, and what He would accomplish.-

Unfortunately, the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sin. (Hebrews 10:4)

Therefore Jesus was very necessary!

The other law that is spoken of interchangeably, is the 10 commandments.

How does it liberate us?

Well 1st of all following the commandments would mean that you wouldn't have to sacrifice any of your animals. You would be in effect liberated from sin!

Even after Christ has come. We know what sin is because of the commandments, therefore following them liberates us from sin even today. We are at liberty to chose longevity by honoring our father and mother.

We are at liberty because we know how to love God [the first 5 commandments] and how to love our brother/neighbor as we love ourselves [the latter 5 commandments].

FOOD 4 THOUGHT (you do the dishes) - I acknowledge that as an African American Independence didn't come for my ancestors in 1776. For some freedom came after Jan.1,1863 by the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. How ever the last slaves that were freed by the Union Army, was liberated June 19,1865; 2.5 years later. And it is with this knowledge wisdom and understanding that i say, "Happy Independence Day"! (A day later)

REVELATION 21:4... ¿NOW OR L8R?

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away"
(Revelation 21:4).

Is God presently in heaven wiping tears away from eyes. The answer may seem easy to some, but most people whom are familiar with this verse, probably have never realized that it is more than 10 words long.
This Revelation is, 'The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass.'
Unfortunately everything in the book of Revelation has not yet come to pass.
In fact safe to say that most of that which is written has not yet come to pass.
By the time we get to this scripture in the 21st Chapter of a book that only has 22 Chapters in it we have passed the coming of Jesus Christ with all the saints with Him (Revelation 19:11-21); The First Ressurection (Revelation 20:1-6); & Judgement Day (Revelation 20:11-15)
It is when we are with the Father in the Kingdom of God, this prophecy will have Finally come to past.

If God will dry our tears in His kingdom, what happens if you die tomorrow?

"All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean... as is the good, so is the sinner... This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun... Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

DID THE JEWS GO HOME IN 1948? Part 2

When people question me about my heritage and i reply that people like David, Paul, and Moses are my ancestors they immedately ask me if I am Jewish. I usually reply does Jew-ish mean that i am 'like' a Jew? (similar to something blue-ish referring to something sort-of blue, but not completely)
The Jew's are members of a tribe of Israel. However, Jacob had 12 sons (hence the "12 tribes of Israel"). Therefore, I identify myself as an Israelite. Because Abraham was the first to be called Hebrew, I am a Hebrew Israelite. Not to be confused with Hebrew Ishmaelite (Arabs). Hewbrew Israelite is a Race NOT a religion. Therefore me being Christian depends on if i follow Christ! Jesus was called a Jew because he was of the tribe of JU-DAH. Paul was called a Jew because he was an Israelite whom lived in the land of JU-DEA. But a little research will show that Paul's background was of the tribe of Benjamin Not Judah
(Romans 11:1 / Philippians 3:5).
So, now the Q:
If I claim to be decendant from Moses and Jesus, how did the Jews offically go home in 1945 like modern-day preachers, teachers, and evangalists say?

Unfortunately (for them) The Bible (and its' Prophets) disagree :(

There are several scriptures through out the Bible that speak on the Jews/Israel being recovered for the 2nd time. So 1st of all, when was the 1st time Israel was taken captive & recovered?

CAPTIVITY: (August 10, About 590 B.C)The first time Jerusalem is taken down by *'The Lord's Servant' Nebuchadneezer King of Babylon (2Kings 25:1-21). Even before this the King of Israel and the King of Judah became confederate with other nations (Syria & Assyria) to the end that some of their breathern became captives. Namely the tribe of Naphtali (2Kings chap 15&16).

RECOVERY: (About 536 B.C)The first time "the Lord" set His hand forth to recover his people:

"In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying... 'The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem...'

Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods... All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem." (Ezra 1:1-11)

2nd CAPTIVITY: (August 10, 70 A.D.)The 2nd time that Jerusalem was carried away captive:

"And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

(Matthew 24:1-4)

When The Lord sets his hand the 2ND TIME to recover His people:

They will not have to worry about racism or disrespect, terrorism or hate of any kind.

To the contrary, they will be a praise!

At that time there will be No doubt in anyone's mind who God's people are.

"At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD." (Zephaniah 3:20)

THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER: When 'the Jews' go home God will take them, similar to how he took them to the promised land under Moses. ALL ISRAEL will go shortly after Jesus invades the earth and at that time there will be No confusion on who are the chosen people of God.

WHEN THE JEWS GO HOME (1948 or later in the future?)

The debate rages about the nation of Israel. In several sermons people speak about the Jews being home, and how we must pray for the peace of the land. That we should pray that a peaceful solution can be found betwixt the two warring factions of the decendants of Abraham.

However, since we Study The Bible and Not The Sermon, let us see what the Word has to say about what will be happening when the Jews (children of Israel) go back home to the land of Israel:
"...The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. (Isaiah 11:1-12)
⁷And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
⁸And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
⁹They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
¹⁰And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
¹¹And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth."

Isaiah just said a mouthfull. Basically, by the time the Jews (the tribe of Judah) return from their exile, or captivity from "the four corners of the earth" Lions will eat straw like the Ox! Leopards will sleep next to young goats, wolves and lambs will be housed together! Baby cows and baby lions will play together and
Children will play with snakes and not be harmed!

That is pretty basic scripture. No need for interpetation there. The next time someone tells you that the children of Israel returned from the Diaspora in 1948, go directly to your local zoo. Bring your Big Mac or Double Whopper and a grocery bag full of hay with you. When you arrive at the lions den, toss both over the fece near where the lions are. If the animals go for the hay, then it is offical the jews have went home.

If the animals devour your extra cheese sandwhiches then you have just tried the spirit of that lying preacher or profit by the spirit of God (the Bible) and have proven them to be false teachers!

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1John 4:1)

*Disclaimer**Please note that should you do this and the jews are not home you may end up in jail. Futhermore should you do this and you find out that the jews are home that means you have somehow missed the return of Jesus Christ, Him invading the earth with All His saints with Him, tremendous earthquakes, the sun turning black and the moon turning red.

THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

"There are only 31 words in the American 'pledge of allegiance,' so how did news station NBC omit two of the most important words in the pledge?"

This is the first thing I heard when i turned the news on this past Monday. Because i follow the news and am aware of the signs of the times I knew before the news anchor went to the next sentence that the two words omitted were, 'Under God.'

First I thought about how messed up that is to omit God from the pledge, then I began to think about the title "Pledge of Allegiance," and what those words really mean when put together in a statement.
Most confusion between people is due to definitions. If a word means something different to me, then I may disrespect you, when that type of talk is perfectly acceptable in my part of the world.
So...

Pledge: [noun] A solemn promise (solemn means not cheerful or smiling; serious)
Allegiance: [noun] Loyalty or commitment of a subordinate to a superior or of an individual to a group or cause.

Thank you Jesus that we may now see clearly!
So when in school, when you take the pledge of allegiance you (and your children) are making a Serious promise (pledge) of loyalty and commitment (allegiance) to a 'FLAG.'

"The phrase 'under God' is not a throw-away line, an afterthought. It's been a critical part of the Pledge for more than half a century - a time-honored tradition," said Jordan Sekulow, director of Policy and International Relations at the The American Center for Law and Justice. The ACLJ, which focuses on constitutional law, announced on Monday it is sending a letter of protest to NBC over the omission from the pledge.

After reading the report done by Christian Broadcast Network (CBN), I didn't see an apology anywhere in the statements that NBC made. They kept saying that it was not done to offend anyone; which leaves me to believe that it WAS done on purpose, but they probably wouldn't have did it if they knew there was going to be this kind of reaction to the omission.

As Christians (followers of Christ) our allegiance should be to Him, and His word (The Bible). I suppose pledging allegiance to a flag is ok if it (the flag) represents Christ and/or His word. America may have began a Christian nation in theory but at what point should this great nation lose our allegiance?

Remember what your grandmother told you, put God FIRST!

What would Jesus do? Would He have pleddged his allegiance to the US during slavery before 1865? How about before 1968 during the Civil Rights Movement. How many hypocrites asked for God to bless America during these times of sin?

And even in June 2011 with every refrence to God or His Commandments removed from every public place; and now even the mention of His title (God is a title not a name) in the 'serious promise of loyalty and commitment to our flag,' should we as Christians continue to pledge allegiance to a flag that represent principles that are no longer in sync with Bible?

dEUTERNOMY 20

In Deuternomy chap. 20, Moses continues to prepare the children of Israel for what lies ahead in the promised land (the land of Canaan). As we approach the last 3 Holy days of God's calendar namely the Memorial of the Blowing of Trumpets, Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), and the feast of Tabernacles (In gathering), we look to Christ whom created all things. Among other things these last "High Sabbath days" point to the 2nd coming of Christ, how, when, why, and to whom.
Since we will at that time stand before our Creator, King and Judge of all life, we too should prepare for battle. Battle to improve our ways, to show fruits meet for repentance.

"In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand... But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:"

As we continue to engage the Bible and disregard the sermon we can begin to see that the instructions for the children of Israel, and their preparation for war can enlighten us on our battle for self improvement?
According to the stipulation of the Holy days, this represents a time when God has emerged from His distant and all but inaccessible palace. He will have returned, and renewed, His presence on the earth. It was of course the most High, who withdrew to the 3rd heaven because of the sins of the people. Shortly after the 10 commandments were given the Lord had to lead the people by the hand of an angel because of their harden hearts:

"Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him." [sounds just like the Holy Spirit]

"But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off."

(Exodus 23:20-24)

Wanting to make a personal change just isn't enough. 1st we must identify the enemy. Even world events show us that if we do not properly identify our enemy we cannot successfully overcome it. Oftentimes, the adversary is within ourselves. We therefore need to be able to take a clear look at ourselves, confess our sins, move away from them, and then we can draw up a plan of attack.

Even when our shortcomings are to great to overcome, we must remember; "the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you." (v.4)

Just as the Most High brought us to freedom from bondage in Egypt, He will aid us as we individually free ourselves of our own self-imposed shackles, if we lean not to our own understanding.

THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER: The battle of our lives, Is also the battle for our lives!

Food 4 Thought... Bring a Plate*

The God of the Bible set out for His people things that are to be eaten, and things that should not be eaten. One excuse that is commonly used as to why it is ok for modern Christians to eat prohibited items such as Pork, Catfish, Shrimp etc is that those foods were only prohibited to the nation of Israel. All the people in the Bible that are mentioned before Moses, (Leviticus) did not have to adhere to the laws of kosher meat.
This is simply not the case.

The commandments of God have been in place since the beginning.

They did not begin on Mt. Sinai!

When God asked Cain if he killed his brother Abel, Cain did not say yes.
He said, "I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?" (Genesis 4:9)
Cain lied because he knew that murder was a sin. At this time there are NO Israelites on the earth.

Noah also, knew the commandments of God. As the story is ususally told, Noah filled the Ark with every animal 2 by 2.
"... of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive." (Genesis 6:19-20)

The only problem with the above scripture is, that to have understanding on this matter we must continue to read...

3 verses later in chapter 7 we learn more:
"Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female." (Genesis 7:2)
Have you ever heard this part in the song of the story of Noah?

So if it only takes 2 to procreate, the question begs to be asked as to why Noah would bring 7 of every 'Clean Beast' into the Ark?

There are two answers;

1. "And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour..." (Genesis 8:18-22)
After the waters of the flood receeded off the earth, Noah being thankful for being spared offered a sacrifice to the Most High God. Noah of course being called a righteous man in chapter 7 verse 1, understood that you can only sacrifice 'Clean' (kosher) animals to the True and Living God. Therefore it was necessary to bring 7 because had he only brought 2 and sacrificed 1 the animal left wouldn't be able to be fruitful and multiply and replensih the earth.

2. "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things" (Genesis 9:3)
Before the flood of Noah people did not eat meat. It was therefore necessary to bring 7 of every animal that God deemed 'clean' since Noah and his seed would now eat meat.

Some still try and use the last scripture I quoted to say that we can eat ALL meats. Because it says Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you, and I given you all things.

There are other scriptures like this in the New Testament also.

FOOD 4 THOUGHT: YOU DO THE DISHES

"I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean." (Romans 14:14)

What is this verse saying? That meat is only unclean to the one who says its unclean??

1st of all we should be mindful that verse '14' is in the middle of the chapter. What is the subject of this chapter? Paul is here speaking about people who are "Vegetarians," those whom refuse ALL meats! and verse 3-23 explains that if eating meat (any kind of meat) offends a brother/sister who does not eat meat at all, then we should not eat meat so that our brother/sister wont have a stumblingblock and will be able to recieve the truth.

But even if you disagree with that logic I agree with verse 14, Pork is only unclean to the one who calls it unclean.

The only problem is that the True and Living God is the one who called it unclean.

"Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean."

(Leviticus 20:25)

¿Does God Do Evil?

"The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil."

(Proverbs 16:4)

In a world full of hate, murder, crimes aganist humanity many are left wondering where is God? And where is the hand of our Just, and Loving God. Does Jesus 'wrestle' with Satan in order to keep us from harm? This is a centuries-old, unresolved paradox that is inherent in all religions which includes a belief in a personal all-loving, all knowing, all-powerful, and present God. This question, and the theories which surround the answer is called Theodicy.

-- how can such evil and suffering exist in a universe created by a good, loving God? --

While surfing the net I come across many different lingering questions, and several hundred points of view. I have conversed with people representing numerous religions. As far as theodicy goes some still struggle with a question that the Bible answers. Some say that its plainly obvious, but nevertheless the question of how a God of Love could allow bad things even, Evil things to happen on the Earth?

For our God IS a God of Love!

"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." (1John 4:8)

In times past church leaders have reasoned that perhaps since God allows bad things He is not omniscient, and/or omnipotent, or perhaps he does not care.

This kind of thinking implies that God only allows evil to happen. He does not bring evil.? A better understanding of this fundamental question will guide us to an answer to the question of theodicy.

¿Does God Do Evil?

"Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

(Amos 3:6-7)

God does more than merely 'allow' evil. I conquer that not only does God do evil, evil cannot come unless it is sanctioned by the Almighty.

In the 25th chapter of Jeremiah The Most High passes sentence on Jerusalem and the children of Israel in particular, and in general on the ENTIRE EARTH!

" For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them." (Jeremiah 25:15-16)

¿WHY?

"And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts." (V.28-29)

This is not an isolated incident.

In the 1st book of Kings we have the story of Ahab King of Israel and a conversation/situation he created with Jehoshaphat King of Judah.

"And the king of Israel said... unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day."
(1Kings 22:1-5)

Jehoshaphat wanted to ask God's opinion before going to war. Look what happened...

"Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?"

(v.6-7)

Jehoshaphat was called a righteous King and apparently so, he had enough discernment to know that out of 400 "prophets," None of them spoke for the Most High. The Bible calls them prophets, yet they were not prophets of the Lord.

"And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them. And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth-gilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand" (v.8-12).

These prophets sound like they are modern day false prophets with their props and dramatic effects. I can see the prophet now at 4:35 AM with iron horns screaming at the TV 'With these you will be able to push your enemies, until thou have consumed them.' He would then cite the verse and then rightfully expect for no one to actually read the scripture, and sell the 'blessed iron horns.' LOL

Thankfully our episode did not go that way.

Eventually Micaiah the prophet of the Lord showed up. I encourage all my readers to check out the entire chapter on your own. But for our purposes (and to make a loooong story short) this is what Micaiah had to say:

"Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee." (V.19-23)

Some how King Ahab figured that he could out smart God. And King Jehoshaphat was also very gullible. This is what happened next:

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.

^"And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.

But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded. And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot... So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria. And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the LORD which he spake." (V.30-45)

Ahab couldn't hide from God. A man shot a bow into the crowd of soilders fighting and by chance struck the King and he died, just as the Lord wanted.
God put a lying spirit in the mouth of those prophets. God brought Evil upon Ahab!

If you wonder why God would do such a thing to a King of Israel, then Go and read 1Kings Chapter 16 thru Chapter 22, and you will see why the Most High went thru such great lengths to kill the king.

THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER: God is Almighty! If He is Almighty then there can never be a battle or a struggle of God vs Satan. It simply cannot be! That would make the two equal. The Most High God created Lucifer, after iniquity was found in, him his name was changed to Satan. Satan (the devil) is still an angel (A ministering spirit), the devil and all the demons that fell with him now minister evil. When you have crossed the line with God and He determines that the days of your life are up, He doesn't send a Holy Spirit to kill you, He sends an evil, and/or lying spirit to lead you to your death!

God also allows Satan to temp people as He did with Job. Satan tortured Job, killed his family and livestock, but he could not kill Job because the Lord set up the parameters whereby Satan could operate in the Job chapter 1, and Satan abided by His limits.

Because the devil had no choice, Our God is Almighty!

CELEBRATE; According To Knowledge!

"...I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." (Romans10:1-3)

Women's day, Pastor's day, Men's day, Children's day, Stewart's day, Usher's day etc.

In every culture festivals, and banquets and parades are how people past the time. Holidays are days looked forward to on a calendar. The Most High God is no different. There are a set of days set aside for the celebration of the Plan of God, the Will of God and the works of His hand.

These days are meticulously spelled in the 23rd Chapter of Leviticus. When to celebrate, why to celebrate and how to.

I will not post the chapter here, but click here to read it for yourself. Instructions in the Old Tesament are usually VERY specific. There are protocol’s and certain ways in which things must be done. In the 23rd Chapter of Leviticus when celebrating God’s Holy Days (not man’s holy days, not the Jews holy Days, THE FEASTS OF THE LORD) people alos sacrificed animals. Being under the blood of Jesus we no longer sacrifice animals.. However the feasts of the Lord are perpetual (everlasting), meaning they last from generation to generation. When Jesus returns the entire world will celebrate these feasts!

"... And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh." (Isaiah 66:15-23)

The scene/prophesy being depicted here is of Jesus Kingdom. It is Jesus whom all flesh will come to worship before, being also able to look into the Lake of Fire and physically see the beast and the false prophet for 1,000 yrs. see revelation 19

However at some point during the 3rd century after a string of councils, the Emperor 'Constantine the Great' wanted to separate the catholic church from all things considered Jew or Jewish. I don t think he ever read what Paul said, "...my kinsmen according to the flesh... are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises"(Romans 9:3-5).

You can NEVER separate Israel from the Bible.

All of the priests, prophets and apostles were Israelites.

Even the Messiah (Jesus Christ) was an Israelite and futhermore called the Holy One of Israel.

Jesus was prophesied to be ruler in Israel; and save Israel! (not your personal savior) Luke 1:30-33

Even in New Jerusalem also known as the Kingdom of God there are 12 gates named after the 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL (Revelation 21:12).

This is why there are 12 months in a year
24hrs in a day (12x2=24)

Not to mention the fact the city is called 'new Jerusalem' the capital city in Israel since King David moved his throne there from Hebron.

It is because of this disconnect that the man-made (or in this case Emperor-made) holiday Easter never falls on the same day every year.

Constantine wanted to be sure it never fell on the same day as Passover. Passover is called a Jewish holiday even though it was JESUS who died on Passover. And it is the believer's sins that get passed-over.

The New Testament even calls Christ our passover.

(1Corinthians 5:1-7)

Nevertheless, it is human nature to want to celebrate God's goodness on earth.

Therefore when you know that you should do something, but you have nothing to do (because preachers call God's festivals a Jewish thing), you make up something to do.

*So instead of celebrating the different aspects of God Almighty they celebrate the fraternity of the usher board.

These made-up celebrations in addition to the more universal holidays: Christmas, Easter, Lent, Holy Week, etc., are days that have no relevance to Jesus nor any biblical backing. Jesus name is simply stamped on pagan festivals (most by emperor Constantine) in order to coerce the pagans to Christianity.

There are however Holy Days (holidays) found in the Bible. 3 feasts (Unleavend Bread [7days long], Pentecost [1day], Tabernacles[8days long]), 2 memorials (The Passover, Blowing of trumpets), and 1 fast (The day of Atonement).

That's 7 days out the year for special celebration of God and His power!

Compare and Contrast for a moment…

Anyone who has never heard of the Passover can right now, pick up the Bible, see when it was instituted by Moses. You can see how Jesus and the Apostles did it.

You can see where the customs change dfrom animal sacrifice in Leviticus to Bread & Wine in St. Matthew.
"And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."(Matthew 26:26-28)

You don’t have to wonder if this day Really has anything to do with Christ.

Paul tells us that Christ IS our Passover!

Come out of Babylon my people and no longer be partake of her sins. "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Revelation 18:4)

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF JESUS?

The answer to this question has been debated through-out history. It has been the launching pad for racial discrimination as well as countless wars. Adolf Hitler used this Q & A as reasoning while trying to convince the people of Germany that the Jews were an evil race.

So again a simple question: Who is responsible for the death of Jesus Christ?

Did the Jews Kill Jesus Christ? Did Pontius kill Jesus? Did the Sins of the World kill Jesus Christ? The Romans? Satan?

The Associated Press reported on March 2, 2011 that in a new book written by Pope Benedict XVI, the Jews were exonerated for the death of Christ.

In the exerpts printed here the question of who is responsible is not answered. Only who was not responsible.

Thankfully the scripture has been around for thousands of years and therefore we do not need to wait for a ‘sermon,’ book, new church documents or commentaries.

All we need do is Study.

So what does the Bible say about the death of Christ?

Let us start at the beginning…

In the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good evil. This was a direct violation of the only restriction that the two had. Let us pick up in the book of Genesis as the Lord is passing out punishments.

“And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:13-15)

If there is any 1 man or group to blame for the death of Jesus, it is here. The man Adam and his wife Eve. Although Eve ate the fruit first, their eyes weren’t opened until Adam ate. Therefore it was because of Adam’s transgression that we are born into sin so to speak.

Click here for the post that examines the concept of Adam being solely responsible for the fall of man. Because of their sin there is enmity between Jesus (her seed[women don’t carry seeds, Mary was the only one who did from God]) and the Satan (the serpents seed[snakes don’t talk, we’re talking the Devil here]).

But our answer lies further. Adam’s sin may have been the cause or the beginning of the chain reaction but certainly he did not ‘kill’ Christ.

The question begs to be asked, why did Jesus come in the flesh anyway? What purpose did he accomplish?

“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not... But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed... He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth... Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand” (Isaiah 53:1-13)

The 53rd chapter of Isaiah is one of those chapters that we can learn something, while we are on our way to learning something. Contrast this chapter with what we all witness on Sundays throughout the world. ‘There is no comeliness,’ ‘no beauty that we should desire him?’ I have never been to a church (and I have been to churches all over the country and a couple other countries) where they had a picture of an ugly Jesus. Wheather a Greek church, Catholic, Protestant, and even churches in the African American communities where Jesus is black;

Jesus may have flowing blonde hair,

dreadlocks,

or a bushy Afro

he is always a good looking man. The artist created those pictures for beauty, but as usual the Bible contradicts the wisdom of man.

‘He is despised and rejected of men?’ But EVERYONE loves Christ. Even R&B singers who talk about sex in every song, will when an award and talk about how the love Jesus.

He was brought like a lamb to slaughter. He opened not His mouth. Verse 10 says it pleased the Lord to bruise him! The Lord made his soul an offering for sin! It seems that we are getting closer. It pleased the Father to make him a sin offering, but this does not mean that the Father actually killed Him.

Just before Jesus was betrayed He made a comment that most people read right over…

“The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.” (Matthew 26:24)

Jesus is telling His disciples here (as he told them many times) that He would die & be resurrected.

So then finally,

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF JESUS?

“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.” (St. John 10:14-15)

Eventhough Jesus died to combat Adam’s stupidity, it pleased the Lord, was instigated by the chief priests almost reversed by Pontious Pilate and was executed by miscellaneous Roman soilders

it was Jesus Himself who is responsible for His death.
How?

By laying His own life down for us (the sheep).

“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” (St. John 10:17-18)

The conclusion of the matter: It was necessary for Christ to die that he may live forever and that we may in turn live forever. After studying the Bible the question almost becomes a moot point. More important than who is why? And Jesus sums it up in the 15th chapter.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

And what does it take to become a ‘friend’ of Jesus?

“Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (St. John 15:12-14)

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SANCTIFIED?

"For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." (Leviticus 11:44)

Here the Lord is telling us that if we eat certain things our temple (1Corinthians 6:19) becomes defiled and we become an abomination to our God. In an effort to avoid these situations and circumstances we are to, "therefore 'sanctify' yourselves."

There is nothing holy about the word sanctify. The definition of sanctified is not holy or righteous, but rather to set apart, or separated.

"Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine." (Exodus 13:2)

Samuel the priest as well as Jesus Christ (and others) were sanctified after this manner.

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." (Genesis 2:1-3)

God sanctified the Sabbath day, therefore the 7th day of the week should be set apart from the rest of the week. Simply put you shouldn't do the things that you normally do on the Sabbath. Everything about the day is supposed to be different. In the 10 Commandments we are told that No work should be done. The 7th day is designed to be our Day of Worship. The day that Christians in general (and ALL those whom believe in the God of the Bible in particular) should assemble together (Hebrews 10:25).

Some would have my readers believe that the Sabbath day and the rules that outline the proper observance thereof was nailed to the cross with Christ. I wonder how then would they explain the 66th chapter of Isaiah where after the Kingdom of God begins, after the New heaven and New earth have come, that, "it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." (66:23)

I have also heard Catholic as well as Protestant preachers say that those laws were for the nation of Israel only. I wonder then how those preachers would explain the 56th chapter of Isaiah.

"Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil... Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, everyone that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people." (Isaiah 56:1-8)

Another thing that sanctifies the people of God from the rest of the world, (according to the Bible) are the things that we eat (or are allowed to eat). This post began with a verse out of the 11th chapter of Leviticus. The entire chapter lines out those things that will 'defile' the temple of your body, as well as some things that will make us an "Abomination" in the sight of God.

"And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination." (v.10-11)

"Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten."

(v.43-47)

FOOD 4 THOUGHT (you do the dishes): Twice in this set of scriptures, the Lord equates what we eat with being holy. And that we are commanded to be holy because He is holy. I would like to take this time to point out that NOWHERE in the Bible is it written that smoke of any kind whatsoever will defile the temple of your body. That type of reasoning comes from the mind of man (studying sermons instead of Bibles). People are caught up making tobacco and alcohol a sin, when sin is outlined in the Bible.

This is how the people of God 'Sanctify' themselves from the world. Not by becoming Monks and Nuns in seclusion from the world (how then can they carry out 'the Great Commission'?) but by following the scripture. The proof is in the pudding. When you talk to someone about the Sabbath Day, or the Dietary Law the 1st thing they assume is that you are Jewish. That is because historically the only people that Sanctify themselves were the people of God -The Children Of Israel- or what we commonly call the Jews.
However we read today that the son of the stranger (one whom is not from among the children of Israel) should keep the Sabbath day as well. There is only 1 Law for the Jew and the Gentile. 1 Law for Israel, as well as for the entire species of Man (the species of Man is male and female).

It is very important that we use the Word. Those that sanctify themselves without the Word are in danger.

"For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD."

(Isaiah 66:16-18)

These people Isaiah mentions try to circumvent the sanctification of God and assume that since God created it, it must be ok to eat. Those that sanctify themselves and eat 'swines flesh' will be consumed together with those who commit other abominations.

Imagine being one of those people who believes that homosexuality is an abomination unto God (it is). All of your life you evangelize against alternative lifestyles and when Jesus returns, He places you in the lake of fire, right next to a homosexual because you have sanctified yourself and ate swine's flesh.

"One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you." (Exodus 12:49)

"Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God." (Leviticus 24:22)

"Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them." (Numbers 15:29)

"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Ephesians 4:1-6)

And Finally,

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

I have conversations with a lot of different kinds of people. People who study Metaphysics who claim the proper magnetic field will save humanity, to folks in the 5% nation who call themselves God, and believe that knowing how many miles there are between the Earth and the Moon has a purpose outside of astronomy class. Even those who claim to be Christian, but have No Knowledge or Understanding about Christ whatsoever.

One of the most lively conversations surrounds the topic speaking in tongues. Some say that it was the day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost came that the Church took over from the nation of Israel.

Some say that unless a person speaks in some unknown tongue they cannot receive salvation. As if speaking in tongues is some kind of proof of God s approval of a particular man or woman.

Others have made the subject of speaking in tongues so spooky and magical, the whole topic has become a joke and a point of ridicule.

In this clip we see a woman claiming to be singing happy birthday in an unknown tongue. Her "prayer language.":-/

Let s examine this train of thought....

First and most importantly speaking in tongues is a sign for NON-BELIEVERS
"Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not..." (1Corinthians 14:22)

Now in Acts chapter 2 (v.1-18) while Peter was speaking a rushing wind came and fiery tongues appeared by each of the people there. These tongues were there for the purpose of translation. Peter spoke a Galilen dialect, but Israelites from all over the world heard in every language (the language of their individual homeland).
Also notice towards the end of the Chapter Peter quotes Joel. After reading Joel chap 2 you will notice that instead of talking about speaking in tongues Joel's prophecy mentioned that The Spirit of God will be poured out.

The question then becomes, what happens when the Lord pours out His spirit upon you?

"Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you" (Proverbs 1:22-23). When the spirit is poured out on you, you will KNOW (have knowledge of something).... Namely knowledge of His Word.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW HIS WORD, THEN WHAT SPIRIT IS POURED ON YOU??

This is what Jesus spoke about..

"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:53-63).

THE WORDS ARE SPIRIT! AND THEY ARE LIFE!

¿HOW?

Reading the Bible!
God is pouring out His spirit upon you right now thru your computer screen. Through His Word.

Now just think for a moment. If something doesn't teach you how to get Salvation or edify you, what's the purpose? What is it good for??

"...he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries... He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church" (1Corinthians 14:1-4).

God wants us to edify the flock. He told Peter 3 times to "feed my sheep."

"I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying" (v.5)

Unknown languages helps no one. Even Paul admits it.

"Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue." (v.19)

If u can't understand the tongue how can you try the spirit? (1John 4:1)

But some say: if the spirit come upon you, and you prophesy ~~it must be from God~~... Is it??

"And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand" (1Samuel 18:10)

An evil spirit came on Saul and made him prophesy!

FOOD 4 THOUGHT (you do the dishes): You can't try a spirit you can't understand.

What if that evil spirit comes upon the preacher, and he says repeat after me, and in a language you don't understand tells you to curse God and die. You just might repeat it. :-O

*[did you notice that the evil spirit came "From God"]...

"Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord" (1Corinthians 14:20-21).

This is quoted from the 28th chapter of Isaiah.

Instead of only Hebrew, or Aramaic God will speak thru other languages. Hence the Bible is written in almost every language known to man.

Why?

God knew Israel would be scattered into all nations. Therefore whatever nation we find ourselves in, God will speak in that language.

THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER: "Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?" (1Corinthians 14:22-23)

Now I have to ask the question, who requires a sign?

"Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:" (Matthew 12:38-39)

This is why those that believe do not require a sign.

CONSIDER THIS: Even the sign Jesus gave, people don't believe.

"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (v.40)

They say Jesus died good Friday evening and rose from the dead Easter Sunday morning.

That's 1 day and 2 nights, far from the 3days and 3nights that He said.

"... Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?"

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"

(Galatians 3:1-13)

In this last installment of The Apostle Paul UNplugged we will focus on the "works of the law."

The works of the law are often condemned in the New Testament, and because Paul does not always speak plainly many conclude that he is speaking of the Commandments of God. This however, is not the case.

We have already learned that we must establish the law, and that we will be judged by Christ out of the law. So we must first ask the question... What is the Curse of the Law?

"And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses, Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations;

Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance...And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering. And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them. But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him." (Numbers 15:22-31)

When you broke the Commandments of God, you fell under the curse. Meaning you then had to sacrifice (take something that was worth money [bullocks & goats] and give it away) something as a sign for your repentance, for violation of God's Commandments.

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree... Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator." (Galatians 3:13-19)

This law that Paul is speaking of, is the law of Animal Sacrifice. This is the law that was added because of transgressions. When God spoke the 10 Commandments he added no more:

"These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me." (Deuternonmy 5:22)

But after the people entered into the covenant (contract) with the Lord, Moses went up to receive the Commandments written on the tables of stone, meanwhile Aaron made a golden calf for the people to worship, placing them in direct violation of the first 3 Commandments. It was because of this incident that the law of Animal Sacrifice or the law of works came into existence.

EVERYTHING written in the Old Testament is for us to learn and understand. It all had a purpose: to give us a better understanding of The Most High and His Christ.

"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." (Romans 5:4)

So then now we understand what law Paul is referring to when he mentions,

"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." (Galatians 3:19-25)

After Jesus came we were no longer required to kill animals for our sins, animal sacrifice was our 'schoolmaster' to teach us what Christ would do and represent.

The Apostle to the Gentiles gives us further details:

Can you now decipher which law he is speaking of?

"For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:" (Hebrews 10:1-4)

Because the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins The Father prepared a body for Jesus. This was not made up in the New Testament. Remember the Old Testament is for our learning. So let us learn where this was written /decided.

"Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest." (Psalms 40:4-9)

Jesus sacrificed His life to save ours because it was the will of God.

"In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." (Hebrews 10:6-10)

He took away the laws of Animal Sacrifce; The Law of Works, to establish the law of faith; Faith in Christ. Now-a-days, if we break any of the Commandments of God, we need only repent, turn away from our unrighteous ways, and believe that Christ is willing and able to forgive and justify us before the Father.

FOOD 4 THOUGHT (you do the dishes): We as believers (yet not eyewitnesses) must be very careful when reading the writings of Paul. We must remember the Apostle Paul was a very learned man. A Pharisee meaning he grew up learning all the scriptures concerning the Messiah and is therefore able to go into a much deeper discussion than Peter, John, or James.

Peter also testifies to this fact, and issues the church a proper warning:
"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." (2Peter 3:15-18)

This is why Paul is always misquoted and misunderstood. His writings are not for babes in the word. But for those who have been seasoned in the scriptures, those whom can rightfully divide the Word of Truth!

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

These last few verses of the 2nd chapter of the 1st epistle to the Corinthians furthers our understanding of the purpose of the Apostles initial, minimal restrictions on the Gentiles.
The Gentiles were pagans, born and raised, the Natural man. The Natural man cannot understand circumcision. As a man, I assure you that, in order for a grown man (over 18) to get circumcised he must have some knowledge and understanding about why and its purpose. Before someone can be asked to change their dietary habits, they must know(ledge) something about why its important. Even baptism seems like foolishness to the Natural man, because Baptism is an outward sign of an inward decision. Therefore it serves no natural purpose to the natural man.

In Chap.3 he goes on to say:

"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"

"For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour." (1Corinthians 3:1-8)

This type of behavior is still in practice today.
People believe what they believe despite what the Bible says, because of 'what my pastor said.'
Paul spoke to the gentiles like babes in the word because that's what they were. And he knew they did not have a Bible (new or old testament) that they could go home and read at their leisure.

"Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?" (1Corinthians 1:10-16)

We learned yesterday that after Paul and the disciples have laid only the most basic of the Commandments on the Gentiles, he still thought it necessary to tell them that unrighteousness will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What is Unrighteousness?

How do we as believers in the Bible define what is righteous and unrighteous behavior??

... Of Course we look to the scriptures and let the Bible interpret itself.

"And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us." (Deuteronomy 6:24-25)

It is the doing of the Commandments that make you righteous. And it is a persons lifestyle of not obeying the commandments that is their own judgment and deems them therefore unrighteous.

"For there is no respect of persons with God.

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." (Romans 2:12-13)

Believers will be judged by the law. Righteous enter the Kingdom, unrighteous enter the Lake of Fire.

And those who don't even believe we should be keeping the law will perish without the law.

Just as it is in the world. If you know the law of red lights (stop), and break the law of red lights (do not stop)you will be judged guilty and fined within the parameters of the laws of your county.

If you do not know the law of red lights (stop), and break the law of red lights (do not stop) you will be judged guilty and/or negligent and will likely still be fined within the parameters of the laws of your county.

In traffic court in Chciago the judge is known for saying,

"Ignorance of the Law is not an excuse for breaking the law."

I conquer, and the Judge of ALL Mankind feels the same way!

"Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing... Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." (Galatians 5:1-4)

Taking this scripture at face value it appears that Paul is even condemning Timothy; whom Paul himself circumcised, according to what we learned in Part 1 of :unplugged: (Acts 15-16).

No. Paul is simply relating that being circumcised does not give you space to not believe in Christ. We are not justified by the law, we do the law because we were Commanded to. So that, we might live. and things will go well with us (Deuteronomy 6:24-25). We are justified by the fact that we believe in the law. For it was written in the law that Christ would come.

It is because of a belief/faith in Christ that the Gentiles would have been circumcised. They obviously wouldn't do it because of Abraham or Moses, but once Christ came, and was preached by the Apostles and knowledge and faith was gained, the people would then begin to keep the Commandments. He goes on to say:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"

Through the grace of God we are able to place faith in the fact that Christ came and did all those things that were written of Him by Moses and the prophets and that in doing that is able to remove the sins committed in the past.

^"To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith."

Because Jesus was righteous (did the Commandments), He can justify our mistakes, shortcomings, and pitfalls because of our faith in him. The law of faith; we do the Commandments because although we are not perfect like Jesus, He will justify our imperfections through our faith in Him.

^"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law."

(Romans 3:23-31)

Yes! We were justified upon hearing the Word/Gospel and believing, since we were justified before we understood all the things that were required of us, does that mean that we shouldn't do the Commandments?

God forbid: We (being those that are justified) will be the main ones doing the Commandments!

"For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God."

(Romans 2:25-29/3:1-2)

FOOD 4 THOUGHT (you do the dishes): Being circumcised only matters if you keep the Commandments of God. Obviously in keeping the Commandments of God you would be led to circumcision because it is a token of the covenant that God made with Abraham (the promise of Christ was also made to Abraham in him keeping this covenant). Basically the Bible here divides the people of God who are circumcised and those pagan nations who also believed in circumcison, and thru that procedure they became holy. There is only 1 way to be holy and that is to do the Word of God. It is therefore safe to say that if a believer wants to get circumcised he is probably holy because only through the Word of God would a grown man let someone take a knife to his manhood...

THE APOSTLE PAUL: 'UNPLUGGED'

"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

(2Timothy 3:14-17)

Here the Apostle Paul is writing his second letter to Timothy and he reminds Timothy that he has known the holy scriptures from childhood.
How is this possible?
The New Testament was written down until years after all of the events took place. The holy scriptures that Timothy has known from childhood is what we now call 'the Old Testament.' Some would have my readers to believe that some (if not all) of the things written in the Old Testament does not apply to Christians, or 'the Church'.

According to Paul, when he wrote to Timothy, the Old Testament (holy scriptures) makes you wise enough to receive salvation, if you have faith In Jesus the Christ...

So Let's Explore...

"And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question... And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name... Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day." Acts 15:1-21

There are several points of argument in this set of scriptures. And if left at face value, I can even understand that if you focus on only this chapter you would conclude that circumcision is not necessary. Unfortunately in concluding doctrine on only this chapter you would also have to admit that we are able to steal. According to Only this chapter the Gentiles (and subsequently the entire Christian Church) were/are permitted to kill. To blaspheme the Holy Spirit, or to take the Lord's name in vain, not honor mother & father, etc.

That sentence is highlighted in blue, so that we may remember 4 things the Apostles agreed the Gentiles should stay away from.

Why would the followers of Jesus say this? Knowing that Jesus is quoted as saying, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil" (Matthew 5:17).

1st we must explore the theory of circumcision first in conjunction with the human psyche.

In the United States the majority of males are circumcised by default. Imagine however, becoming a grown man, maybe never having even heard of circumcision. Foreigners come from far away lands and preach the Gospel of the coming of the Kingdom of God. You hear about the wonderful works of Christ, about He and the Father's love for mankind, and eventually you decide to follow Christ to receive salvation. Imagine that soon thereafter others that preach Christ, come and tell you that in order to follow Christ, i.e be saved, "I GOTTA CUT YA!"

Complete turn off right? As a man I can testify to how attached I am to my genitals. It has to be a very serious concern for anyone (especially male) to be anywhere near my manhood. I'm talking like prostate cancer serious!

First of all it should be noted that, these restrictions were permitted for babes in the Word of God. The commandments highlighted in blue was something that you could tell someone whom has only heard about Christ's life (not how His life relates to Abraham, Israel as a nation or the world as a whole), that they had to adhere to without reading them the entire Bible. 4 things that would in essence put you on the road toward salvation.

Not the end-all, be-all.

It was not necessary then, nor is it necessary now as ministers of the Gospel, to impose the law of God. That is what the Word was printed for. So that everyone could see for themselves and make their choice to everlasting life, or the 2nd death. Although during this time period the people did not own their own copy of the Scriptures, James recognized that they do have preachers. This he pointed out in the sentence highlighted in Red. Every week on the Sabbath they people who preach the law of God. That which Moses wrote, and what the prophets wrote. So in time as they lived their lives with the milk of the Word and continued to abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood, eventually their respective preachers would get around to teaching the importance of the circumcision as well as all the other topics contained in the scripture (as will I).

Did Paul live his life by those standards? No. In the very next chapter of Acts, he circumcises Timothy, who was a Greek.
"Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek." (Acts 16:1-3)
Some take the last verse to mean that Paul circumcised Timothy for 'fear' of the Jews. If that thought popped into your head while reading this, I would encourage you to do a deep research on Paul (Saul of Tarsus) to do so start here. I will just say that Paul was extreme in all that he did and showed no signs of fear toward anyone else, including Caesar. The fact that Timothy was a Gentile was of no matter as Timothy was to be Paul's assistant and eventual preacher, and church leader.

Throughout the New Testament Paul goes beyond the original four that they agreed upon.
"I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat" (1Corinthians 5:1-11).

Now in his letters to "the brethren of the Church" those whom believe in God and His Christ, he says that you should not even eat with someone who is covetous, a railer, drunkard, or an extortioner. Way past the original four rules that they set for the Gentiles.

The Apostle Peter also did not leave the requirements for salvation at those highlighted in blue. "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings" (1Peter 2:1).
None of these were agreed upon in Acts 15.

FOOD 4 THOUGHT (you do the dishes): Conversely all of these things mentioned by Peter and Paul are ALL quotes from the Old Testament. This is, because of course, Genesis-Malachi was their there ONLY source of refrence. The only way to preach Christ. This is why every statement of or about salvation, doctrine, or the latter days can be verified and substantiated by Moses and/or the prophets. It would be therefore impossible to contradict the Old Testament. Doing that would by default contradict the very foundation that the 'Church' was built upon.

Old Covenant / New Covenant...Whats the difference?

"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah" (Jeremiah 31:31)

It is commonly said (in sermons) that we as Christians are under the new covenant. It is also taught (in sermons) that under the new covenant, the Law God (the Commandments) is null and void. Our God is a God of Covenants. Therefore we will take a look at the covenants.

God's first covenant in the Bible was with Noah, and all the animals that were with him.

"...Behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; And with every living creature that is with you, from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth" (Genesis 9:8-12).

And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. (v.17)

And the token of the Covenant was; the Rainbow.

"I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth... And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth" (Genesis 9:13-16).

A covenant was also made with Abraham.
"And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, as for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations" (Genesis 17:1-4).

The covenant was made with Abraham but was established thru Isaac, Jacob, Moses and the people that he led out of Egypt.

"And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations" (Genesis 17:5-9).

Because of the covenant, Abraham's descendents were promised the promise land (the curse of Canaan [http://studythebiblenotthesermon.blogspot.com/2009/12/curse-of-ham.html]).

And the token of the covenant was the Circumcision.

"This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken MY covenant"

(Genesis 17:10-14).

The covenant that God made with the nation of Israel, thru Moses is commonly called the old Covenant. Let’s see what this Old Covenant consists of:

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables THE WORDS OF THE COVENANT, EVEN TEN COMMANDMENTS" (Exodus 34:27-28).
The stone tablets also called the tablets of testimony were/are the words of the Old Covenant.

The first mention of a New Covenant was made by the prophet Jeremiah (not Paul). Amazingly it says nothing about Jesus changing the laws given to Moses. In fact it says just the opposite.

"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD" (Jeremiah 31:31-32).

The Old Covenant was broken almost immediately after it was made at Mt. Sinai after the people left

Egypt

. Because of this transgression Animal Sacrifices was instituted. This is the law (animal sacrifice) that was added because of transgression. (Galatians 3:19).

So finally; what is this 'New Covenant'??

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people" (Jeremiah 31:33)

LET IT BE KNOWN: This is the reason Jesus did not come and destroy the law!

Instead He fulfilled it!

**Now fulfillment by the Messiah does not mean we are exempt from the law. It means that we now have to fulfill the law in our generations.*

But which law?
Those same 10 commandments. Which are a summary of the law. Notice nowhere in the 10 commandments does it say to sacrifice a bull or goat.

FOOD 4 THOUGHT(you do the dishes): The Apostle Paul or the writings of the Apostle are usually used by people to try and negate the Royal Law of God. Paul did not start some new thing through his ministry. He also testified that the New Covenant was the same law as the Old Covenant written in our minds, versus written on tablets of stone. The fault was with the "people," not with the law. And Paul points that out:

"For if that first covenant had been faultless, and then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people" (Hebrews 8:7-10).

¿EAT MY FLESH & DRINK MY BLOOD?

"And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst... For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me... The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven... I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

(John 6:35-52)

This is a hard saying. How can Jesus give His flesh to these people to eat?

Isn't cannibalism a sin?

Even the Jews did not understand this saying...

^"The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him." (v.52-56)

Jesus has now taken it two steps further. He says to eat His flesh and to drink His blood!

He goes on to say that unless we eat His flesh and drink His blood we don't even have life in us.

Finally he says if we eat His flesh and drink His blood that we dwell in Him and at the same time He dwells in us. This defies the laws of physics, something cannot live inside of you if you are inside of it.

¿So WHAT IS HE TALKING ABOUT?!?

"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." (V.63)

Of course it's the Word! It is the Word that teaches you how to obtain everlasting life, i.e about Jesus. It was the Word that told those Jews He was speaking to that He was the Messiah (Those that believed).

¿Do u really believe Jesus is the Messiah?

The Greatest Story Ever Told

People say that they believe Jesus is the Messiah, yet they deny Him with their speech and actions.

I am not even talking about accepting Christ as Lord, or being led by the spirit of God, or keeping His Commandments and/or Testimony, just weather or not Jesus is the Christ or Anointed One.

How do we know that Jesus was the Messiah?

The word Messiah means Anointed One. This is the title given to the Deliverer who would some day come from among the people of Israel as their great Savior and Redeemer, anointed as Prophet, Priest, and King by God Himself.
Some however, are still looking for the fulfillment of the promises made to the Patriarchs.

Meanwhile a group of Israelites were convinced that Jesus of Nazareth was/is the promised Messiah. The title Christ is equivalent to “Messiah.” Therefore literally translated, Jesus Christ = Jesus the Messiah, or Jesus the anointed one.

There are literally hundreds of prophecies, of what the Messiah would do and say, so the possibility of their accidental convergence on any ordinary man is completely ruled out by the laws of probability.

"The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come" (Genesis 49:10).
“Shiloh” is synonymous with Messiah, therefore the tribe of Judah would remain the chief tribe in Israel, in particular providing their kings, until Messiah would come. This as well as other prophecies show that The Christ should have came prior to 70 A.D (for this was the year in which the Romans destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the remaining 2 tribes [Judah; Benjamin and some Levites] were scattered amongst the face of the earth with the other 10 tribes already dwelling among the heathen). Not having a nation meant that the scepter could no longer be with Judah.

Also The Lord swore to King David in the 132nd Psalm that the Messiah should be one of his descendants, and as the King eternal, the one of whom God said, I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever (II Samuel 7:13). If the Messiah came tomorrow how would we verify that he came thru the lineage of David seeing Israel is 2000 years removed??

People claim that they believe in Jesus, fulfilling the prophecy made by Isaiah, and repeated by Jesus that, "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men"
(Isaiah 29:13/Matthew 15:7-9).

Modern Christianity (in most cases) do exactly the opposite of what the Messiah says
He said:"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days... do all thy work: The seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work... For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth... and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it" (Exodus 20:8-11). But somehow 96% of Christians attend church on Sunday (the 1st day of the week).

Jesus said these are the beasts u can eat and these are the beasts u shouldn't eat (Leviticus 11:1-46).
Even Peter, 10yrs after the Resurrection of Jesus said I HAVE NEVER ATE ANYTHING COMMON OR UNCLEAN (Acts chapter 10). And yet somehow we have twisted the writings of Paul into meaning we as Christians can eat what ever we want.

The word Christian means Christ-like . When follow Christ, we answer the question, -W.W.J.D- what would Jesus do?

All we have to do is read the book and it will tell us what Jesus did...

"And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."(Luke 4:16).

¿WHAT'S IN THE EAST?

This recreation of the temple that Solomon built is a look inside. The altar where sacrifices were killed and the drained of blood is on the right. To the left is where the sacrifices were roasted or boiled, and straight ahead up the stairs is the holy place before the veil. Behind the vail inside the room was the mercy seat that represented the Judgement of God as well as the Ark of the Covenant, and Aaron's Rod that budded called the 'Most Holy Place.'

The 'Most Holy Place,' is believed to be at the center of the temple complex, which is in the center of Jerusalem, which is situated in the center of the earth.

The very 1st time that I went to the church that I currently attend they had a very peculiar practice that caught me by suprise. At the beginning and end of each service (even on special holidays) the entire congregation faces the east to pray. Now upon first glance (in addition to being Very Lightly seasoned in the Bible [10years of studying sermons instead of Bibles]).

Before going any further I want to acknowledge that in our modern society this practice would automatically identify the participant as Muslim. However anyone who has a an understanding of history, and the processes of time will conclude that anywhere from 75%-85% of the doctrine of Islam comes from the Bible. This of course is how the claim is maintained that Islam is a continuation from Christianity, and Judaism. So the fact that Mohammed wrote it in the Q'uran does not automatically mean that is inconsistent with the Bible.

Now the Question is why?

¿Why the 'East'?

¿What difference does it make in which direction we face when we pray?

Our journey starts in the days of Solomon the 3rd King of Israel. Son of King David. It was first in David's mind to build the temple of God. For it was first David who reigned as King in Jerusalem, the 'City of God.' David's intentions were good but he was denied the opportunity being a man of war, his hands were to bloody (1 Chronicles 22:7-9,28:3). Solomon was therefore chosen as successor, and the main who would carry out the most prestigious task, in the history of prestigious task; Overseeing the building and construction of the temple of the Most High God.

"Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God... the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion"

(2 Chronicles 5:2)

When this enormous task was finally finished King Solomon gathered the congregation of the children of Israel together during the feast of tabernacles. They sacrificed, sang praises and something happened:

"It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God."

(2 Chronicles 5:13-14)

Then King Solomon offers up a prayer in the sight of God and the people:

"Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits

high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven. And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts... Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified,

which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David. But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth?behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built! Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee: That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place. Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive. If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house; Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness. And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house; Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers. When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them; Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance. If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be: Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house: Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:) That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers. Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house; Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name. If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee TOWARD THIS CITY which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name; Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land FAR OFF OR NEAR... If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and PRAY TOWARD their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and TOWARD the city which thou hast chosen, and TOWARD the house which I have built for thy name: Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made IN THIS PLACE...

(2 Chronicles 6:1-42)

Solomon's prayer was basically that no matter what if a servant of God prayed towrad Jerusalem and more specifally toward the temple mount then God would hear their prayers. The fact that His eyes are always there, it makes perfect since.

If you knew the queen of England, and you need her assistance and you were sure that she could help you, you could invite the news media knowing that she will probably watch the BBC network. You could also just call her, or write her a letter that you are for sure she would see. The prayer Solomon offered was made with this same logic in mind.
The Bible Never says that if you find yourself praying to the West, or North or South that your prayers wont be heard. There isn't anything necessarily 'holy' about the east either.
Pagans also worship the 'Sun' facing the East (Ezekiel 8:15-17).

We face the east when we pray because from the United States and particularly from the latitude of the city of New Orleans, Jerusalem and the place where the temple was is Directly East. From Chicago more southeastern. If I was praying from Japan, Asia, or Iran I would pray towards the West. Likewise If i prayed from Russia or the Netherlands, I would pray South. And from Africa, northeastern.

LET IT BE KNOWN: Solomon's temple was destroyed before Jesus walked the earth. After Jesus' death and resurrection His prophecy of the 2nd temple being destroyed was fulfilled in 70AD, by the Roman General Titus. Remember, that it is not the building we are praying to, but the spot, and the City. That is where the Lord watches, CONTINUALLY!

The last question remains; Did the Lord Hear Solomon's prayer? And what was His answer?

"Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house. And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood."

(2 Chronicles 7:1-6)

"And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice... If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually."

(2 Chronicles 7:12-22)

His head and his hairs were white like wool, white as snow and his eyes were as a flame of fire and his feet like unto fine brass as if they burned in a furnace

(Revelation 1:14,15)

According to scripture we attribute that Christ's feet are the colour of fine brass. If this is the case then it is probably safe to say that His face and hands are also the color of fine brass.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD

(Isaiah 1:18)

If we agree that Christ's feet were the color of fine brass then why do people (some in my family) have pictures in their house that they claim is Christ that looks like this:

These images and idols that are on display in churches are not of Jesus Christ!

The great artist Michelangelo was the creator of the picture that is the most common religious image used in the world today. This false image was modeled after Cesare Borgia, who was the second son of so-called Pope Alexander VI, of Rome.

And even if the picture was of Jesus,

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the father upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:3-6)

         Paul and all of the disciples were African in appearance, as were the original Egyptians and Ethiopians (and so were the Canaanites and Philistines for that matter). They did not look like Greeks, Romans, and Germans. That is why the centurion captain asked Paul if he was an Egyptian. (Acts 21:38)

All of the nations descended from Noah. According to the tenth chapter of Genesis, Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham is the father of the Africans. Therefore, Ham could not have been a Caucasian man. Japheth was the father of the Europeans. Shem became the patriarch of the people whom settled in what is now called the Middle East.

In reality we are all one family upon the earth, with common ancestors! Noah, and before that Adam!

The skin color of Christ is described as being dark: as if burned in a furnace. Brass is already brown, like a doorknob. Burning comes from oxidation. And Christ's feet were the same color as the rest of his body: Dark Brass!

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."

(Revelation 18:4)

During two missions on the International Space Station, Job's image often ran through the mind of Col. Jeffrey Williams as he looked down on Earth.

Tim Townsend, reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, wrote an article earlier this year on the experiences of former astronaut Col. Jeffrey Williams. The interview came as Col. Williams was in St. Louis speaking to third- and fourth-graders for "NASA: Journey to Outer Space," a day camp program hosted by the St. Louis Science Center and Mad Science of St. Louis. Col. Williams has also published a photograph book entitled, "The Work of His Hands: A View of God's Creation from Space."

"When one views the Earth from orbit through the window of a spacecraft for the first time — and perhaps, most every time — it is normal to be struck by the (obvious) reality that the Earth is a ball in the vastness of space," Williams writes. "It is one thing to know that academically, quite another to view it. God really does suspend the Earth on nothing!"

"Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands."

The space station orbits Earth every 90 minutes. In the duration of an orbit, the Earth rotates 22 degrees, giving space station residents a different view with each trip around the globe.

During his 362 day stay in space (just over two weeks shy of the record) Williams orbited Earth over 2,800 times during Expedition 13. In a 24 hour period he saw 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets.

Astronauts are usually recorded as saying that when viewing the Earth from space they experience feelings of smallness, even insignificance. "Christianity is about what God has done for us through our faith in him; to him, we are incredibly significant," Williams said.

During a book signing at Concordia Publishing House bookstore on Jefferson Avenue in St. Louis, Lisa Goodsell, 42, of Waterloo, MO waited in line to talk to Williams during his book signing. A man dressed in a spacesuit also handed out "astronaut ice cream" to the children in the store and told them the creation story from Genesis.

Goodsell later told the reporter that, "I'm fascinated by these pictures and the concept of his perspective on Earth from space." "How can you look at these pictures and think a creator didn't put the universe together? It's not random."

"Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. "

(Isaiah 48:13)

"We come to know about God through the Scriptures, and we can learn about God's work through incredible photos — like those taken by Hubble," Williams said, referring to the space telescope that beams back images of deep space.

"But we can never really know God."
