I have heard of a few instances recently where customers have installed Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista, windows 7 and then every time they tried to launch Visual Studio, they received an error dialog with the following text:

The Application Data folder for Visual Studio could not be created.

This error dialog only has an OK button and clicking OK closes Visual Studio and the IDE cannot be used.
A post has a description of an application compatibility warning that appears when launching Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista. This warning dialog appears when attempting to launch Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista.
Unfortunately, the same dialog also appears during Visual Studio 2005 setup. If you press cancel on this dialog when it appears during setup, it can cause some of the necessary registration steps to be skipped.
If you see this Application Data folder error dialog when launching Visual Studio 2005 on Windows Vista, there is a chance that you inadvertantly pressed cancel on this application compatibility dialog when it appeared during Visual Studio 2005 setup. You can use the following steps to repair the Visual Studio registration on your system and resolve this error:

Click on the Start menu, choose All Programs, then Accessories
Right-click on the item named Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator
Click continue to launch an elevated command prompt
Run "%programfiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" /setup

Note: the command line in step 4 assumes that you have installed Visual Studio 2005 to the default path on an x86 system. You will need to update the command line if your system is not an x86 system or if you installed Visual Studio 2005 to a non-default path.

For 2008

"%programfiles%\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\VWDExpress.exe" /setup
By the way, if you installed Visual studios 2008 under a folder other than Program Files, you need to specify the path as follows:
"C:\your install folder\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\VWDExpress.exe" /setup
I am running Win7 x64 and this corrected the problem.

One more thing, follow your path to the common7\IDE directory and see if the aforementioned exe file exists, if not, substitute the exe of the program giving the error message.
By doing this, you should be able to correct any version with the issue.

In ball pool you just have to select a ball and play just push it. and if u click on screen ans shake then number of balls increase so it was interesting.

Nokia N73 the multimedia cellphone by Nokia. It has many features. It is a good cellphone. I too have N73 music edition. But the biggest draw back of cell phone is after some days it starts working very slowly & the biggest ever problem is memory problem. It always show the message.

"MEMORY FULL- DELETE SOME DATA."

Yup I had same problem. I was also searching solution on this problem and i got solution. You can solve this memory problem in few minutes. This method not solve problem for life time , but whenever that message come this method works 100 %. and no need of any tool.

( For this method something should be there in phone memory which we can delete.)

Showing memory full okay no problem.
Remove memory card.
Now see what data you have in phone. Numbers, logs, messages, photos, recordings, or any else.
If possible take backup of that data and delete data step by step. As soon as you delete something from phone memory your memory problem get solved.
So after doing this click 5-10 pictures and save them to phone memory.
Now next time if your memory gets full delete those photos your problem will get solved in just seconds.
And then again repeat step 5 means again capture some photos which will be use full for you if memory gets full.
YA! that's it memory problem solved in seconds. no need to ask any one...no need of tool, no need to go at Nokia shop and waste money.
Now insert memory card and always use memory card too save whole data and please keep something at least 2-5 mb data in phone memory like any song or 5-10 photos which you can click at any time to solve memory problem next time.

First day, Flop show...yeah this a situation of CAT online on first day.

The biggi IIM who are famous for their management fundas they failed to manage servers. Due to ‘overload’, a lot of centers have had to cancel the CAT exam. This is a huge blow to the Prometric driven CAT undertaking.

Till yesterday it news was CAT going online....n we can handle a CAT by MOUSE....but before starting the Tom n Jerry show..CAT got injured n all things gone on hold.

The test is being held between Nov 28 and Dec 7 in 32 cities at 105 testing centers connected to a main server.

The characters created for the telecom brand’s value added services (VAS) have taken on a life of their own in the social media space with the official Facebook page for the ZooZoos claiming to have hit the 70,000 fan mark recently.

On first look, these “zoozoos” in Vodafone TV ads for IPL may resemble animated cartoon characters with an alien look or simply a stupid egg-head character with disproportional white bodies and black dots for eyes and mouth.

These Zoozoo characters, in case you haven’t seen them yet, have been created by O&M for Vodafone to convey different value added services offered by the mobile phone company including phone Backup, cricket alerts, etc.

There are some 25 such commercials planned under this campaign, 10 of which are already on air. The aim is to release approximately one ad a day, to sustain interest till the end of the IPL. Six months ago, Vodafone briefed its agency, Ogilvy India, to create uncommon characters – a common thread to link the ads in the campaign together. Rajiv Rao, executive creative director, South Asia, Ogilvy India, tells afaqs! that the only starting point for the team was that the character had to be simple to a stupefying level. And thus, the Zoozoo was born.

Ogilvy experimented with several characters and finally took its love for the term ‘egghead’ one step too far, creating characters that don the colour white (with black dots for eyes and a mouth), have heads resembling eggs, and disproportionately thin bodies.

A completely Indian concept, Rao lent these characters a name: the Zoozoos. There’s no science to it, he explains – the name just had to be something fun, memorable and catchy, and not a clever one that’s difficult to pronounce.

Vodafone has an IPL microsite for quizzes and contests where one can know the kind of Zoozoo he or she is as each Zoozoo character has a unique set of characteristics and traits allotted to it. Fans may also download wallpapers and screensavers from the Zoozoo microsite.

It seems that the new Vodafone campaign, which is immensely popular during IPL ad-breaks, would make way for the departure of good old pug ‘Chitika’.

Students from the US-based Purdue University have built a long-distance racing car called PULSAR (Purdue Ultra-Light SolAr Racer).

The car has an energy efficiency equivalent of 2,088 kilometres per litre of petrol – more than ten times the distance between Mumbai and Pune.

A mathematical calculation was used to convert the car’s electricity consumption to kilometres per litre of petrol.

Most of the car’s body is covered with panels containing photovoltaic cells, which convert sunlight to electricity to power a motor.

The three-wheel vehicle weighs a mere 77 kgs, and has a top speed of about 40 kmph. Several modifications were made to PULSAR by the students, whose disciplines ranged from engineering to business administration.

The students modified the motor, made several adjustments to to the suspension, steering, and brakes for peak efficiency.

The car cost about $86,000 to build and modify. More than 50 students, mostly undergraduates, participated in the project, averaging 20-40 work hours a week.

Project teams ranged from groups focusing on the carbon-fiber body to the braking and suspension systems, as well as critical business and fundraising functions.

“The team functions as a project team would in industry. We have a budget and schedule to design and build the vehicle.

We perform testing, and we work with different disciplines to accomplish our goals.” said MacKenzie Sellers, a senior in materials engineering and president of Purdue Solar Racing.

The PULSAR has recently won an international competition for fuel-efficient vehicles in the the solar-car category.
The students plan to design a new ‘urban concept’ car called Celeritas — Latin for swiftness — which will be designed and built from scratch, Sellers said.

I have been playing around with this for a number of weeks now. Give it a try, and let me know how it works for you.
What we will be doing is using Javascript to get high speed downloads from Rapidshare for free. We will still be using the "free user" link and will still need to wait the 120 seconds for it to begin, but when it does start, we should be getting download speeds of a premium user and we should be able to instigate multiple downloads.
Firstly you need Firefox, if you don't have it, get it for this alone.
Secondly we need the Greasemonkey plugin. Get it here:

Ok if you are a current RS premuim user and want to test this, log out of RS which should delete your cookie.

London: It's a development worth reading about -- it could soon be possible to tell whether someone was telling the truth or lie by observing their thought patterns.

Yes, mind reading is a step closer to reality, thanks to scientists who claim to have deciphered memories in brains of volunteers, using a brain scanner, British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported.

However, according to the British scientists, the technology is thought to be at least 10 years away.

In their study, involving four people, the scientists were able to tell where an individual had been "standing" inside a virtual reality room from records of their brain activity.

Using a computer keypad, the four male volunteers navigated virtual reality rooms, choosing to "stand" in one of four locations marked by a rug. Their heads had been placed in a functional magnetic resonance imaging scanner, allowing their brain activity to be monitored.

Focusing on the hippocampus, the small area of brain vital to navigation, memory recall and imagining future events the scientists measured blood flow related to neural activity.

A sophisticated computer programme was then used to work out the locations the subjects had visited in virtual space based on their brain activity. Patterns were detected which reflected the participants' memories of where they had been, the scientists found.

Professor Eleanor Maguire, from the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at University College London, said: "Just by looking at the brain data we could predict exactly where they were in the virtual reality environment.

"In other words we could 'read' their spatial memories. With this kind of research, we are approaching the realm of mind reading.

"By looking at activity over tens of thousands of neurons, we can see there must be a functional structure -- a pattern -- to how these memories are encoded. Otherwise, our experiment simply would not have been possible to do."

A man operated an illegal dental surgery in the kitchen of his New York home and gave patients wine to help them cope with the pain.

Police arrested Carlos Flores,68, after raiding his home. Investigators say he had all the tools and treated patients in the kitchen of his home.

They said he had a chair next to a radiator and antiquated instruments caked in blood. Police say there were two birds loose in the house, and on the kitchen table was a jug of wine Flores allegedly gave patients to help deal with the pain.
