Changes to the Website

Okay, so I never would have guessed that starting a business would be so
much work. Yes, I knew it would be hard but there are just so many
things I need to keep track of. Right now I'm wondering how I'm going to
be able to keep this website updated. Over the next few weeks, I think
I'll need to actually sit down and make the time to do this. I do need
to start changing things around so hopefully it doesn't mess everything
up too much. There's a few new plush characters that aren't even here
yet and most of the older plush designs have been modified.

Wow, it's tough trying to keep up with everything.

Elliot and Sheldon

I've been working on some new plush monsters. I forgot how much fun
these little guys were to make. Every time one is done I want to make
another one... with different details. I made some improvements to Beth
by making her bow a little bigger and heir back legs a little longer.
These two are the newest additions. Say hello to Elliot (multi coloured
guy on the left) and Sheldon (the purple guy on the right).

I love the multi-coloured fun fur. It's too bad that I can't find it
anymore. Sheldon probably went through the most changes in design. At
first I wasn't even planning to give this guy tail but here it is. I
thought adding a slight curve to the tail helped add to his personality.

Each of these limited editions are now available to buy - check out my Store
to see if they've been adopted yet.

A Pink Monkey for the Winter

A few weeks ago I had my first custom plush request. A girl I know asked
me to make one of my monkeys but in a pink fleece. I had two different
shades of pink micro fleece but I thought the material would be a little
dull for this monkey. It was great doing this because it gave me a
chance to experiment with new fabrics.

I found a really sweet pink chenille fabric and honestly I was a little
hesitant to use it at first. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out
and I was worried that I would run into problems with the thickness of
the fabric. Suprisingly, this stuff wasn't that bad to work with.

She was a big hit when I showed her around and the fabric makes her so
soft and huggable. She reminds me a little bit of some sort of saskwatch
monster, I think it's the texture of the chenille. Since I have a little
bit of this fabric left over, I thought maybe I'll make this a special
edition, just for the winter. There won't be that many of them though...
  maybe just six or seven?

Furry Monster Beth - work in progress

It was a rough and exhausting two weeks getting ready for the craft show
that was last Saturday. Though it was a lot of fun, (it was my first
show) I'm glad it's finally over. These past few days I've had some time
to relax and think about new toy ideas.

Last night I was working on some designs for plush monsters. This little
beauty here is Beth. I couldn't help it, I just had to give her a
pink bow. It has been a while since I made anything with shaggy long fun
fur. I had forgotten how tricky it was to work with.

Originally, Beth was only going to have four stringy legs until someone
suggested that she should have six legs instead. He was so right. A big
  thanks goes to Guy
Latulippe for the idea, it really makes a difference. Hmm... I'm
wondering now if I made her back two legs a little too short. I might
need to adjust the pattern so they're a little longer. Though, she's
  still a cutie.

A Winter Fling

It's exciting, Stuffed Silly is going to be at a craft show that's
coming up in about two weeks. A friend of mine thought it would be fun
for us to share a table so she signed me up (her toys
are amazing). I have so much to do in the next few weeks and I'm not
even sure how I'll be able to get everything done. I guess for the next
little while I'll be doing a lot of late nights at the sewing machine.
Oh well, who needs sleep anyways?

  Definitely check out Winter
Fling... a craft thing, there's going to be a lot of talented
  vendors there.

Toys Available on Etsy and Artfire

Some of the toys here are now available to buy on both Etsy and ArtFire.
Check it out, this is the banner (my logo) that I decided to use for
both shops. I feel that it really matches the look of the Stuffed Silly
  website.

You can find me on Etsy at stuffedsilly.etsy.com
where I have a few of the Waffle Bunnies listed. Of course, one of them
is the official mascot for Stuffed Silly (you know, the bunny that's
always hanging out at the top of website). If you're interested in
seeing my shop on ArtFire, you can find me at stuffedsilly.artfire.com.
Right now I'm working on some new plush character designs so it might be
a few weeks before I have a good selection of toys available.
