Before you go dashing through this Blog please remember the images here are not photographs, They are created with turbocad 2d 3d design software. Just to make things more interesting the file which comes with the drawing can be used to make each component via a CAM program and is an extremely powerful tool.
Once done in Turbocad the components can be made again and again with no extra cost.
Always back your drawings up of course and you have it forever.
Another useful little trick is that once you have the scaling factor three clicks of the tab button and you can make a bigger component.
Is it easy to learn. ?
No it bloody well is not but if an old demolition contractor can learn it anyone can.
Some of the items on here are just doodles which I do in my spare time, I think you will quickly see which they are.
The others are serious data to make just about anything you want.

Recycling grab in turbocad

The following pictures are of a scrap metal or waste material re handling grab designed in turbocad professional v 15.
The grab is made of 20mm plate steel and weighs about 2 tonnes.
The unit consists of a fixed jaw and a moving jaw.
By a number of steps ie 3d adding the moving jaw making it all one unit and then relocating the reference point to the centre of the main pivot pin the moving jaw can be rotated around this axis to check for travel and clearances.

The great escape "NOT"

well it was about this time that I hatched my escape plan which was not a total success not even a partial one.
In the visitors entrance was a rather large mat for wiping your feet on, It sat in a recess which was about two inches deep after lifting the mat I discovered planking which was secured with large brass headed screws.
After a brief visit to the kitchen I returned with a teaspoon and soon had all the screws removed.
The void below was more than adequate to allow me to enter the underfloor space but my heart sank when I realised that the sunlight entering the void was due to the fact that visitor block was in fact raised above the outside ground level and digging my way out of here with a teaspoon would be beyond even my resourcefulness. anyway it still felt like temporary freedom.

Thou shalt not burn books

It was about this time that religion got to grips with me again. I received my free copy of the gideons testament. Do not ask me what it is but I always assumed it was some sort of charitable trust that gave bibles out but do not really know.
It occurred to me that the wafer thin pages of said religious text would make ideal cigarette rolling papers coupled with the gum from prisoners letters I started my first production run with much gusto.
All was going fine until like a drug dealer starts using his stock I started lighting up at night with the inevitable consequence of old scar face catching me and pointing out the error of my ways.
Time to sell my shares in stugod's lites and let some other mug take some flack.
If you were really good you get the average cigarette down to roughly the same size as a matchstick and are still known today as an Armley special. "Armley being Leeds prison"
Anyway smoking is bad for you especially if you get caught by a screw.
