Just moments after I was about to declare Manchester City a bunch of choking dogs they turn around with a stoppage goal and then, in miracle fashion 2 minutes later, nail another one as their persistence pays off in full flavor.

A miracle comeback is always sweet but one that does in United is even better. The look on the face of Sir Alex when he turns around and some poor sap has to tell him the score is now 2-2 and then again 3-2… I wish I could find a video loop of him learning the good news.

Well played City, you deserved it, you earned it and I’m glad you got it.

NFL Draft Gripe

If my tv screen says ‘The Pick is In’ at the bottom of the screen, it is time for Chris Berman to shut up and get to the pick. I care about the pick, not your story about how many reps the guy had at the combine. The draft is the show, not your storytelling.

Denver NFL Draft Grade : F ?

This year’s NFL draft is a great time to trade your picks and back down to get extra moves in the 2nd round if you need wide receivers or offensive linemen.

Too bad for Denver what they really need is DT, ILB, CB, S and a new RB to work with Peyton. Denver backed from their position in the first round twice. Each time the player taken in their spot is someone that Denver should have considered taking. The Patriots moved up and took Hightower, a defensive lineman/inside linebacker who once ran 60 yards with a fake punt for a TD at Georgia. If you are Denver, this is exactly the kind of player you needed. Another note: If New England wants to trade up and take a guy- YOU - should want that guy.

Denver picks twice in the 2nd. I don’t know who or what value they expect to get. There are quality OL and LaMarcus is there but as much as Denver could use LaM, they need defensive help at every level. I suspect that no matter which players they select I will view this draft an F.

Nothing made me laugh this week more than seeing the over-reacting, over-analyzing and over-everything Red Sox and their fans blow a 9 run lead at home to the Yankees and watch the doors blown off their bullpen 15-9. High quality entertainment.

As if the Boston loonies needed another reason to complain. That team could win 10 in a row and if they lose 2-1 the following day half of the talk-radio fans would be calling for someone to be demoted/traded/tarred/feathered. Loonies, I say, loonies.

Actively rooting for Man City to win the EPL, even the chance is around 20% right now.

Why? Here is why. Imagine if I told you that in the next 30 years the only teams to win the World Series would be the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies or Cardinals. No other team wins, even once, for the next 30 years. Would you still be a big baseball fan?

In 1994 Blackburn won the title. Every other season in the last 20 the winner has been Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea. Every year. Ick.

Me: Never mind. It was a show that played music and he introduced songs and bands and everyone danced.
Kid: You mean, they danced while texting their friends?
Me: No, there was no texting.
Kid: You mean, they danced while talking on the phone?
Me: They didn’t have phones. Or Headphones – they weren’t invented yet.
Kid: I don’t get it.
Me: That much is certain.

2012 Broncos schedule prediction

Next season Denver plays Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Houston, New England, New Orleans, Cincinnati, Carolina, Tampa, Baltimore and Cleveland.

3 of the final four teams last season. Even if the Saints suffer post-scandal, 7 of those are playoff teams, Carolina is improving Tampa might rebound and only Cleveland seems easy outside the division.

Is it possible, since all AFC West teams play this schedule (almost) that every team will finish the year under .500?
