New Video! Healthy Habits: My Favorite Snacks

It's such a beautiful day outside today that I'm blogging from my balcony just to soak up some of this weather that leaves one with absolutely no complaints (well, except for the sweltering 8lbs of hair on my head). As summertime approaches, we are all left wondering how we can possibly whip into the best shape of our lives in a matter of two weeks. A better option is to create a healthy lifestyle where eating healthy and adding a workout regimen is within one's schedule.

Therefore, I decided to share some of my favorite go-to healthy snacks that I have been loving lately. I've discovered some really healthy (and delicious - no lie) snack options that I eat almost religiously whenever I am hungry in between meals and don't want to reach for junk food. Most of the items in my video can be found in your local organic food store such as Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or Fresh Market. Celebrities Mix & Mingle for a Cause with Laz Alonso + Look of the Day

Hey guys! It's a rainy day today in Miami, so I'm just sipping my coffee and working from the comfort of my bed. For today's post I wanted to share with you the look that I rocked for the Celebrities Mix & Mingle for a Cause event which was hosted by actor Laz Alonso (think Avatar, NBC's Deception and Jumping the Broom) at the Shore Club hotel's pool area. The event was uber chic - complete with a red carpet, LeSutra sponsored cocktail bar, passed light bites, a live performance by Egine, a gifting suite filled with CoverGirl goodies among many other items, and a silent auction.

My dress was by Bebe, and the perfect lightweight piece to wear to an outdoor event in the hot Florida weather. I paired it with some nude pumps to keep it fairly simple and classic.

Hey guys! Since it's prime "spring break" season and everyone is either taking trips or heading to the nearest beach, I decided to film what's in my beach bag. These are some of my essential items that I take with me when I'm heading to the pool or the beach. On another note, my beach bag also has kid-friendly items for my little boo boo (for those who don't know - I have a toddler). This past weekend was extremely hot in Miami so I spent plenty of time at my pool.

Easter Sunday + Spring has Sprung

Although Easter was last Sunday, I wanted to show you the look that I rocked for that day. It was the perfect springtime look to wear to brunch, with a mint ombre top (courtesy of 2B by Bebe) that I paired along with some gray skinny jeans and a nude heel. What I love so much about this top is that is drapes down in the back and remains feminine with the flowing chiffon material yet adds a bit of edge with the studs laced around the collar.

Mint, lavender and coral are my favorite spring tones. What are some of your favorite colors for the season?

Betsy Moss Fashion Show at Trump International Resort

Last week I collaborated with Betsy Moss and CoverGirl to showcase Betsy Moss' newest SS 13 collection, which was held at Trump International Resort in Miami. The line had resort style pieces featuring bold prints, neutrals, and flowing fabric. My favorite picks were the red one-piece, printed maxi dress with an open back, and the printed one-piece. There is something about a one-piece/romper that is casual yet chic for any occasion.

For my look, I rocked a spring/summer dress courtesy of 2B by Bebe and it was the perfect dress for a day by the beach. I love that the top portion is flowing and open while the bottom portion adds a bit of texture with its lace fabric. The back of this dress is open, so it adds a bit of sexiness as well. I love pieces that are ultra feminine!

This week, I'll be attending CoverGirl's VIP Winter Music Conference pool party event as well as a fashion show that I've been working on. I wanted to share this casual daytime look that I rocked today, keeping it chic with a classic blazer and pairing it with bold colors/prints. Ever since New York Fashion Week, I've been swamped with projects so I have to apologize for my brief hiatus from blogging. The weather has cooled down slightly in Miami, but it's given me a chance to pull out my fall and winter items. One of my favorite ways to build a look together is to piece various textures or materials together to create a unified outfit. For today's outfit of the day, I paired a silk flowing dress by BCBG Maxazria along with an edgy belt to cinch it at the waist and lace tights. I added a hint of leopard print to add a bit of fringe to the overall look as well.

A new trend for the upcoming season is the black and white combination, which I am also loving right now. Therefore, I threw on a bold black and white clutch to accent the look and finish it off.

Happy Monday everyone! After my trip to New York for fashion week, I am completely exhausted but it was well worth it. For today's blog post I just want to share some of the highlights from my experience from various events, shows, and meetups. The Timo Weiland menswear show was filled with intricate textures, layers, and bold accents. Although I don't write about mens clothing often, I was impressed with this line for the particular season. BCBG was one of my favorite shows, as the extensive patterns and pairings were gorgeous. I'm really loving the use of black and white leathers with prominent patterns for this season.

Hey honeys, I'm back in sunny Miami Beach now! My recent trip to New York City for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NY ended up stretching a little further than planned, as there was a major blizzard (most of you probably already know) that cancelled my outgoing flight. I had an amazing time in the city that never sleeps (and it truly doesn't - or maybe that was just me). It seems like every time I go to New York, I find something new or another reason why I love that city so much. From the runway shows at Lincoln Center, to fashion events throughout the city, lunches in Times Square, shopping on Fifth Ave, meeting new people and old friends, business and pleasure, it was so much fun.

One of the first things I did in NYC was attend the first day of the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference, which is something I recommend all serious fashion bloggers attend every year. It's not only a great networking opportunity, but I had the chance to learn from other blogger experiences as well. Benefit Cosmetics, MailChimp, and Fekkai Salon and Hair Products had some fabulous booths on-site, as well as Monster Headphones. I had the pleasure of being selected to do a quick photo collaboration with the suave supermodel Tyson Beckford and another blogger, rocking the Monster headphones in their booth.

New Video: Valentine's Day to Night Looks

Hey lovers! For today's blog post I have a few Valentine's Day looks that can be transformed from day to night outfits, whether it is from work to a dinner date or a casual day followed by a night out with the girls. One of my tricks for transforming this look is to rock a romantic dress as a top during the day and then pull it down while removing the skinny jeans at night. To add some flare for the evening, I also added a glitzy blazer and some feminine jewelry as well. I also switched my heels from a neutral tone to a more vibrant color at night. Happy Tuesday everyone! If you read my Healthy Habits: How I Lost 55 Pounds in Two Months post, then you know that I lost my baby weight by doing the Insanity workout program. My results were great so the creators of the program (Shaun T and Beachbody) flew me to New York to film the newest Insanity commercial. After much anticipation, the commercial aired nationally over this past weekend and I'm so excited to share it with all of you. The excitement is not strictly because I was featured in the commercial, but the hard work that paid off with my weight loss story.

I also want to share today's OOTD, which is a perfect look for Valentine's Day. Pairing neutral colors with neon pink and sequins creates a fun yet classy look that remains romantic for this type of occasion.

Hey dolls! I've been crazy busy lately, but I wanted to give you guys a tour of my room in the meantime. One of my favorite color combinations is red, black and gold. It strikes me as a powerful combination and I love to piece together looks that incorporate such colors. I have a few events that I am attending later and I wanted to go for a business casual look that still remained feminine and sexy as well. Therefore, I paired some sequin shorts with a draped top and threw on a bright red blazer. The accents to this outfit are what make it really pop - the hardware on this belt that cinches at the waist, and the decorative tights.

Hey guys! I know that it's been awhile since my last blog post, but I was up north visiting my family for the holidays so I've pretty much been MIA for a few weeks on my blog and video channels. Sometimes I think we need to take a break (or maybe it's just me) and humble ourselves, whether it's through spending time with family and friends or simply taking a trip to get away. It was nice to spend so much time with my family and everyone was so excited to see my little man.

Despite my recent trip, I arrived back in Miami late last night and I have so many new things that I can't wait to show ya'll! This look of the day is really affordable, as I purchased most of the items from H&M. Surprisingly, H&M has some of the most comfortable heels! I never bought shoes from them before and the sizes run larger than US sizes, but they are the most comfortable heels I've ever purchased.

Happy 2013 everyone! What did you do to ring in the New Year? This year I decided to keep it pretty low key and stayed in with my family and my little man. It's so cold up north that I really didn't want to step outside in the 0 degree weather either!

However, I have been enjoying being able to throw on my layered clothing as you may know already. I went out to lunch with a friend today and did a little shopping so I threw on a simple little black dress with some tights and my trench coat. There's something about a little black dress that remains classic and can be styled so many different ways. One of my favorite trends this season is the trench coat, which is another classic for the winter season. I added a minty scarf to give the look a little pop of color as well. Hey guys, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I was blessed to be with my little man and my family for Christmas. After booking a last-minute flight home, I was completely caught off guard by this 10 degree weather. We did the usual gift opening and then we had a yummy dinner to follow. Although the weather is freezing cold, I love that I can pull out some of my winter items and layer pieces to create outfits. For today's OOTD I added a lot of layers and kept it casual-chic. What could possibly be better than 85 degree weather in December? Although I would love to wear layers and boots for the winter season, I can't really complain about being able to rock my shorts and sleeveless tops still. If you live in gorgeous weather then you may also be looking for other ways to sport fall/winter fashion as well. In Miami, girls tend to throw on scarves and boots (as if we have cold weather) so I paired some simple black booties with today's look of the day. Adding booties to an outfit can make it more fall/winter appropriate.

I'm looking forward to spending some time up north for the holidays so I'm just doing some last-minute shopping and getting everything together before I head up there. It's the one time of year where I pull out my coats and tall boots! What are you doing for the holidays this year?

After a week of being sick, I finally had the energy to film a new beauty tutorial. I'm sorry for the hiatus, as I didn't update my blog or my YouTube channel but I'm back ladies and gentlemen! I'm not quite sure if it's the fact that my son is older now, but I have been in the holiday spirit this year and I've been looking forward to spending Christmas with my family and friends.
