Does anyone have their shit together? Returning from abroad.

Today I found myself sat watching endless nonsense on my laptop - feeling sorry for myself and wondering: what am I doing?

I have recently returned back to the UK after 3 years abroad, actually, I say recently.. it has been nearly 4 months now..

Since returning I have found it difficult to find a routine or mainly a sense of direction, a feeling I didn't predict - and certainly a feeling I wasn't prepared for. When returning I thought I was more than ready and was even a little excited at the home comforts I had missed whilst away.

Fast forward to right now: I'm thinking to myself - 4 months I have been back. How have I not got my shit together yet!?

Therefore I am now - another day in the same predicament, deciding to share this on my abandoned part of the internet - a place once used for sharing my outfits and lighthearted, image heavy posts.

So, what have I been doing besides burying my head in the sand and feeling pretty worried with the ongoing question of: what is life..!? I have been endlessly searching the internet for advice- information- in a way online self therapy; something I can only hope everyone can admit to whilst reading this.

Things I have come across that, especially over the last week, I have failed, due to unreasonable and shitty modern day self doubt -

Keep moving:

I am confident with relaying this information, as clearly, I have had personal experience of this as of late. Staying in bed nursing self pity unfortunately does not work - get out and keep active, go for a walk and get some fresh air - so you can quickly remove the tick of turning into a vampire off your list!

Keep a routine:

Something I have failed.

Yes - sleeping in till midday with current lack of direction/ motivation in life does not help! Although it feels like it does at the time!

Set an alarm - get up - get showered - make your bed - have breakfast. Start as you usually would and set up your day right!

Write:

Write down what goals you have. Big or small. Brainstorm your ideas and where you see yourself this time next year.

Identify what makes you happy, inspired, motivated, creative, positive. Concentrate on these words - they are the good ones! Concentrate on positive goals and ideas, mentally walk away from the negative.

Keep it realistic:

People use social media to portray a perfect idea of life - people do this because, well, its what we want to see. But it’s difficult to remember, it’s OK not to have the perfect house, job, clothes, food - everything.

Keep it real, life ain’t easy and it ain’t perfect, everyone has a bad day/week, even year! But you might just not see it.

Give yourself a break:

From someone who does worry and has anxiety - give yourself a break. Life may be tough right now but it won’t always be - see it as an adventure - because otherwise life would be boring.

Life update. Travels, snapchats and selfies.

Thought I would update you with a picture filled post on what I have been doing... or just a bunch of selfies to share.

My time has been filled with fund-raising for charity, never ending parties, chilling in the botanical gardens, day trips to beautiful beaches, having a short time living in Bondi, weekend trips to Coogee and Blue Mountains, a night in Brisbane, drunkingly wearing a Mexican hat (yes, that happened), getting a new tattoo and meeting some amazing people who are now my friends for life.

Thought I had better stop there as it could go on and on.

Overall I look back at my time here in Oz so far and can honestly say it has been the best few months of my life so far.

If you are considering travelling but have a few doubts, it's something that you will never regret and, will have the best time you could possibly imagine. Although, the ironic thing about travelling is the actual traveling from one destination to another is the worst part. Everyone that you ask about this will agree I'm sure. But when you get to where your going it is definitely worth your sweat, lower bank balance and energy!

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I have been very MIA on the blog front for a.. pretty long time.

I was living in Sydney for a while, and whilst having access to the Internet at my flat, I never really used it. It's pretty rare finding time to just sit on the laptop and blog away these days.

I thought I would share with you some images from, you know it, Tumblr.

Tumblr is always a source of inspiration for me, or, just a great way of looking as some amazing, beautiful things and people.

I am currently in a very opposite location to the city life I have been used to over the last 7months. Me, my boyfriend and our friend have set off to get our regional work out the way. Finally, we have found a hostel to stay in, with the hope of finding a farm to work on. Yes, I will be picking some sort of fruit or vegetable for 3months. Not sure if I am quite ready for the hard labour we are about to commence.

We are staying in a very small, quaint town and when I say small, after around 7pm it pretty much shuts down and is like a ghost town. Coming from Sydney where you could get most things or go anywhere you fancied at any time, day or night, its a big change from the lifestyle we had before. But, I'm quite enjoying it. Travelling is all about seeing and living in different places, after the time we spent in the city I was ready to leave. However, leaving the friends we had made, which I saw as family was another matter.

With the spare time I have here I would like to get back into blogging and photography so hopefully you will see more of me on here... don't want to promise much as I think I will be working from 6AM on a farm shortly.

Sydney Photo Diary #2

(The night before..)

Today was spent walking from Coogee to Bondi. Whilst being slightly hungover from last night we decided to make the most of a sunny Sunday!

We spent last night in a quirky Tequila bar near where we live. It was pretty dope and the drinks were of course.. flowing. A few cocktails and beers later.. we ended up dancing our little butts off. Was a cracking night!

So today on our walk we saw some absolute beaut beaches, Australia is now coming into warmer weather which is awesome, and means I will be chilling on these beaches a lot from now on.

I also spent today running some errands as I have been non stop at work all week.. yawnnnnn.

We ended the day with a lovely Italian dinner in a restaurant just down from our apartment, it is so cute and the food is awesome. So all in all, a pretty good day. Now I'm just chilling with a bag of M&M's and watching TV, much deserved after a very busy week!

Thought I would share with you 4 bloggers that are always on my go to reading list! These babes are just the shiz when it comes to a good read and some inspo (as you all probably no).

Update on my current life in Sydney, well my new job means I have been working all the hours you can imagine. Also, for some reason when I'm not working I seem to be drinking. Today, I have decided to spend my spare time having a bit of a break from the old alcohol, and actually scope out the city that I now live in. It is way too easy to get caught up in the whirl wind of working and partying, and not realising how quickly time flies by.

Today I took a bit of time out, ate lots of food, chilled, painted my nails.. fake tanned etc.. whilst catching up on blogs and YouTube. It was lush.

Not looking forward to work tomorrow, but I'm feeling super inspired which is literally the best feeling..

For the last two weeks I have been settling into life in the City in Sydney. Me and my friend have managed to get an apartment and today bagged a job. We are pretty happy as well.. we need the dollar!

I haven't managed to get too many snaps from my time here so far, mainly because I have been running around trying to get everything sorted so we can finally settle in!

I am now looking forward to earning some money, eating healthily and meeting new people! The buzz of the city is right up my street and it's weird how quickly it feels like home.

I thought I would share a few images, excuse the mix of the old iPhone pic (I no..the quality 'aint the best!), stay tuned though. I will be sharing some more creative imagery of my time here, just bare with whilst I get into the swing of things!

I have been eyeing up the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens for, I would say nearly a year now. I finally invested at the weekend and, honestly couldn't really afford it but seeing how these images came out I'm so glad I got it! It takes a little getting used to, feels so different to shoot with compared to my kit lens.

This outfit is all newbies to the wardrobe, I have purchased these beaut shoes from New Look, I'm obsessed! I also re-purchased some black Joni Jeans as well, a girl cannot live without a pair of these!! This gorge striped crop was a bargain from H&M, I'm sure I will be wearing this non-stop!

On top of all that, I also finally purchased a fedora.. been eyeing this one up from Bank for a while and decided to get it. What do you guys think? Too much?

OOTD: The Ebay shorts.

Happy Monday everyone.. well as happy as a Monday can get. I am about to start work and am dreading the day ahead.

I wore this outfit yesterday, it was crazy hot (humid not sunny) and, I just didnt want to wear anything but some loose shorts and a tank. Does anyone else do this?
I did debate whether this was a bloggable outfit, but my blog is about sharing what I wear. It just happens this day I wasn't wearing anything overly special..

These denim shorts were £2.00 (free delivery!!!) from Ebay and the tank was £2.50 from Primark... so overall I'm a walking bargain. I have also finally purchased some round sunglasses, I found these in Primark for an amazing £2!!!!

Yesterday I ended up popping up one of our locals for dinner with the fam, both me and my sister are starting new adventures so we wont be around as much to see them. Busy would be an understatement for the next few weekends..

OOTD: Converse.

Excuse the shadows, the weather was not exactly photo-shoot appropriate but really wanted to get some snaps of this outfit!

Not an overly special outfit, but I am wearing my new baseball style t-shirt dress from Asos.
When I saw this on the website it did look a bit longer on the model, but I am 5"10 and kind of forgot to take that into consideration! Luckily it is still long enough to wear bare legged and is soo comfy!

I paired it with sheer tights (which came off half way through the day because I got too hot) and converse with some gold bling around my neck. My urban outfitters bag is the bag I usually pick up when I'm in a rush. It goes with most outfits and fits pretty much everything but the kitchen sink in it!

I am in love with my new sunglasses from River Island and they make a change from my usual Ray Ban style dupes. So these bad bois have been on me constantly.

My life at the moment is so up in the air, sorting things out for travelling has prooven a little stressfull. I don't think I will be able to chill until I'm on the plane.. and then, that will be the moment I realise I have forgotton something vital!

Is that me in a pastel pink duster coat!??

I was pretty shocked that I decided to purchase this, but when I saw it in the Asos sale I couldn't resist. To toughen up the outfit a little I paired this with a Guns 'n Roses tee. It's old and faded but I think is still wearable!
I have been pretty obsessed with my new DIY ripped jeans and have been wearing them non-stop!

Mid-shoot I had a little friend turn up, my cat Faith. Honestly I'm pretty sure she is a 100% poser as going through the pictures she is in most of them!
My usual ~~'photographer'~~ (lol) is my sister but she was out and the next nearest person was my mum. To other people the concept of taking pictures of yourself in outfits can be a bit baffling. Sooo directing my mum to take pictures of me was pretty entertaining... but I think they came out OK! What a relief.

It's Monday morning and I am reluctantly sat at my desk about to start work. Living for the weekend is an understatement in my life.

OOTD: The mirror selfie..

So, I don't no about you guys but my usual routine before I go out is to.. of course.. take about 10 mirror snaps.

Now, pretty much none of these make it on any social media sites or the blog, but for some reason I can't resist doing it before I go out (or even when I'm out and about and see a suitable mirror) ~~cringes~~

It seems that my IPhone camera is actually pretty shocking and these images are such bad quality. Buttttt, there didn't seem any good reason not to blog them, I guess you can call it a less professional way of sharing my OOTD's! I might do a post like this every now and again, mainly because I don't always have the time to get the Canon out and get to a good location before I pop off to wherever I am going. Although that is half the fun of blogging!

OOTD: Duster coat and ripped jeans.

I have officially jumped on the ripped jean bandwagon and done a little DIY jobby on my Leigh jeans from Topshop. I have had these jeans for yonks, and actually bagged them in the Topshop sale for a tenner. Absolute bargs! I have put my hair in a high pony which is a bit different for me, not sure about it... yesterday I booked an appointment at the hairdressers. It's official the ombre is coming back!

This duster esque coat is from H&M, in the above picture it looks a shade of Navy but I can confirm it is black (SHOCK)! Of course, I had to put on my fave shoes of the moment and paired it with a silver chain necklace. This is as smart as it gets for me..

Don't you just love my awkward mid-movement shot in the 4th picture. Yes... just no words.

LIFE: Update.

So I guess you could say this is a pretty big life update. A few months back me and my best mate decided to pop off to Australia for a bit. This idea quickly turned from long telephone chats to purchasing our working visas and one way tickets. Honestly.. it's pretty daunting but at the same time I could not be more excited...
The weekend we fly is going to be manic, my last day in the office is the 8th August, I then have a wedding on the 9th and we fly on Sunday the 10th... yes I no what your thinking! Busy bee!

We are flying to Sydney and will (fingers crossed) be working pretty much straight away. The plan is to get some dollar together and then, in the New Year work out where we want to go, what we want to see etc.

I will be blogging my way through our journey, whether this will be outfit, travel, scenic or food posts the blog will be kept up to date. My Macbook and Canon will be with me and I'm so excited to share this all with you guys! This does mean that my blog will be slightly changing due to content, but theres nothing wrong with a mix up right..?

So currently my life consists of.. writing endless to do lists, freaking out about packing, thinking of more things I need to buy for the journey and.. well I could go on..

OOTD: Jeans, the crop and slides.

I seem to have collated a few kimonos in my wardrobe and I seem to forget to wear them. So.. with that in mind I have brought my little collection to the front of my wardrobe and have promised to wear them more often. This black one from H&M purchased for a bargain of £5.99 is so versatile and looks lush with anything. It's great worn with jeans or over a bikini as a cover up. Just LOVE.
These shoes have been a new obsession and bargain of mine, I bought them from Primark for £10!!! They are THE easiest shoe to put on with pretty much any outfit when rushing out the door. Not a great shoe to do a lot of walking in but still.. I can't complain.

Since I last had my hair cut it has not grown very fast. I'm waiting to wake up with super long locks again.. I miss my long hair, and just want to do a Vanessa Hudgens and have a boho/dark roots/ombre thing going on. Unfortunately.. facing reality.. this will not happen for a very long time. (start to cry a little)

Recently, I have been having some issues with my appearance... which I feel has reflected my blog in the way that I really don't want to post. The thought of taking pictures of yourself when you think you look like shit isn’t really the way to go... but, I finally plucked up the courage as I really wanted to show you guys this fab new purchase from New Look. This long crepe blazer is perfect for the summer; it's so light weight and is something I have been on the hunt for! At a bargain price of £24.99 I quickly picked it up.
My River Island boots have been hidden away for a while now, so I thought I would pair them with the outfit. I feel like I am slightly expressing my inner Lily Melrose with this outfit... I think it's actually just the hat...
I am so happy it's finally Friday, bring on the weekend (more like bring on the wine and vodka).

Currently I'm meant to be on health quick; however I am sat in the office and can see a tub of pringles in the corner of my eye just waiting for me to give in.

I have been pretty MIA for a while on the blog, I can't believe how busy I have been lately. The past week has been such a blur, I got to see some beautiful people and well.. let my hair down a little! After having last week off for my birthday celebrations I am back in the office tomorrow (start to cry a little at the thought!). Going back to reality is going to suck a little!

These trousers have been in my wardrobe for so long, I haven't really worn them so decided to finally take them out the house. As per, I love monochrome and have added a bit of depth with this vintage rucksack. This outfit was SO comfy, and these trousers will definitely be coming out a lot more with me! I'm off to shoot another outfit post and start on a never ending to-do list that seems to keep growing! 'sighs'. See you in the next one! xx

Recently I have found myself picking up my workout trainers to wear with my day to day 'running errands' outfits. I then thought why not feature them on the old blog! As you will all no, trainers have quickly become a fast growing trend and now, walking down the high-street all I see people wearing is a good pair of comfy sneakers!

I am loving long trench coats paired with trainers, this Asos Duster Coat would look amazing paired with these Nike Air Max Thea this is definatly a style I will be investing in!

Sharing a very casual OOTD today, these are my newest pair of Joni Jeans from Topshop. Such a simple jean, but love the fit! The white tank was purchased in the sale from H&M for ever ago, I think it was like a quid or something. To style it up a little I added my Primark rucksack and Topshop sandals. Welcome to the 4th and final outfit post from my trip to Spain. I was wondering around and spotted this splash of graffiti and thought it would look good as a backdrop. Think the images came out pretty well.. considering the rest of the view was of terracotta spanish villas.

The jacket was another €1 bargain from a charity shop, literally couldn't believe it. Such a great alternative to the usual leather jacket. It's also really lightweight so great to bring with me into Spring/Summer.

Welcome to the third instalment to the holiday outfit 'series'. This whole outfit is bargain heaven and right up my street. Of course I have my new found loves on from toppers!! I have played the rest of the outfit quite simple and of course, added bit of gold.

I am currently looking out onto typical English weather and lots of rain, rain, rain. I'm missing laying out in the sun SO much, hopefully it will make an appearance sometime soon...

OOTD: The Chazza Chanel.

Yes, this tee is thrifted. I spotted it in a Charity Shop in Spain (I know, a Charity shop in Spain..?) and did a little squeal of happiness. Being an absolute designer dupe junkie, I quickly picked it up and frantically rummaged through rails for more finds like this. The shape of the tee is not a style I would normally go for but tucked into something high-waisted and with the sleeves rolled up I think it looks pretty dope...

The skirt is also a Charity Shop find, it's short but due to it being high-waisted I couldn't say no. Who can say no to a high-waisted wonder..? I paired it with my current shoe obsession and headed to the nearest white wall..

Hope you like my second holiday ensemble, a slightly different look than I normally go for but mixing it up is half the fun right!?
