I can't believe it's already Friday, I had to check my calendar to be sure. There is nothing worse than thinking it's Friday prematurely. I've been watching a documentary on Netflix about Woody Allen, absolutely fascinating, endless creativity and work. . . Did you know that the 'split screen' therapy session was actually a built set, so Woody and Diane could play off each other's timing?

I never thought I would be a person with a growing hat collection, but with an expanding collection of Panama hats and baseball caps, I think a wide brim wool felt hat might not be too far away. . .

These Janessa Leone hats from her sophomore collection "Shadows" are meant to be passed down to many future generations; what a lovely sentiment.

Davis Cup Weekend!

@Bryanbrothers put on a show during open practice in Boise as Captain Courier looks on.

I'm in Boise, Idaho today to watch Novak Djokovic v. John Isner and Sam Querrey v. Viktor Troicki. Never thought I would say that. I can't wait for the Bryan Brothers to play tomorrow. It's not every weekend that you get to cross something off your Mighty Life List. Hope you have a great weekend!

I'll admit that I pre-ordered Gwyneth Paltrow's new book "It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great." (It was joined with "How to Travel the World on $50 a Day: Travel Cheaper, Longer, Smarter" to get free shipping. You know how it is.)

I try to eat mostly vegan and many vegetarian cookbooks rely heavily on cheese, eggs, and processed substitutes. Gwyneth's book, politely I'm sure, suggests no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deepwater fish, no potatoes, no tomatoes, no bell pepper, no eggplant, no wheat, no meat, and no soy. It will be interesting to see the recipes she can vouch for with such strict restrictions.

This article in the Washington Post, "Gwyneth Paltrow: We love to hate her, but we’ll buy her cookbook anyway" sums up why we will subject ourselves to the gratuitous ratio of author photos to recipe photos and lines like, "I once overnighted a batch from London to my manager in Los Angeles who was doing the clean program and was dying for a cookie! They did not disappoint." Gwyneth offers a glimpse into the utopia of an endless food budget and time galore to worry about all these issues, while we can just skim what we like and move on.

April Resolutions

When you hear that the next Davis Cup tie is less than a 4-hour drive away, and know the No. 1 tennis player and No. 1 doubles tennis players are going to be there, you buy the tickets ASAP. I can't wait to head to Boise this weekend and experience the energy of the Davis Cup.

I always feel like doing projects when the weather finally warms up. I'm planning to attempt a crepe cake for my birthday and construct a light box to capture some prettier photos. I'm also itching to start a sewing project of some sort. Do you have any projects up your sleeve?
